Erika's pride worldwide!
Girls und Panzer and /ak/ thread.
It's hard to find a better sturmdere than Erika.
It will be translated, as intended.
>"Erika's pride" by Saitaniya Ryouichi
Enemy's approaching at 2 o'clock! Distance 800.
Place us like bento while facing 2! Rotate the hull!
Hurry, load armor piercing!
To shoot while moving!
Enemy's in sights!
Hitoyoshi municipal elementary school
Just what you'd expect from Erika-chan! Consecutive victory!
Which time is it?
When Erika-chan is commanding, don't think about losing!
The enemy was simply too weak!
We still have a long way to go.
My elementary school senshado team...
As expected, captain!
... won the match against other school!
Wherever I go, I'm peerless!
The more I win, the more
Everyone acknowledges me as a captain.
The voices of my friends after we win are the best!
>These certainly make me appreciate swiss Momo and co even more.
I like them a lot too.
Wanna go to "Youth Class" team?
I'll go! Absolutely let me go!
Well aren't you loud...
You only have classic senshado before middle school.
I'm already tired from what you can do with elementary school team!
I do think that your abilities are very strong for your age.
Well, that might be so.
I also think that real "strength" isn't only about winning in the match.
So with that in mind
It would be good for you to go to a new stage and gain new experiences.
Don't worry. Wherever I'll go, I won't lose!
Ha-ha... That's ensuring...
Kuromorimine Academy Associated
Senshado Youth Team recruitment
Well then, welcome to our new recruits!
Let's have a mock battle right away.
10 new members vs 10 old members, same tank type
will be Erika-san.
Just what I wanted!
Opposing side will be
commanded by the captain.
Hm? There is one line on her collar tab.
Does that mean she's a first year?
First year is the captain? What does it mean?
As a handicap, we will go with the second team.
>translated, as intended.
Could you be convinced to translate more chapters of either GuP Antology if I promise to place typesetting them at the very top of my to-do list, Anon?
Then, everyone get ready
What do they take my command for? I'll show them!!
In less than 15 minutes, 10 tanks...
Is this the difference between "youth team" and elementary schooler?
Besides, on senpai's side
Only 1 tank was immobilized.
You put up a good fight for a kid.
Yeah, I can try to do first chapters at least.
Just as a "this is what's done so far" info, have a list of what's already done of CA 1, in case you decide to do more than the first chapter.
Nice. I was really confused about what is translated.
But against Kuromorimine Youth Team captain, Nishizumi Maho-sama...
Earlier match was amazing, right?
To think there was a monster like that in Youth Class.
We are beginners in a lot of ways, so it can't be helped...
Be quiet for awhile!
Next time we'll win for sure!
Hey newbie! Don't break the formation~
That Itsumi girl is quiet lately.
Is it because of the recent match?
Well, who knows...
Nothing but plain practice lately...
No matter what, it won't be like the last time!
Next time for sure, I will win!
She belongs to Maho, but she likes Miho in a more intimate way.
Could you possibly have a match with me now?
Haven't we already?
I can't be content with that!
Please let me do it one more time!
She can be a good friend to Miho-san from before. Pretty interesting girl.
Why not? I'll accompany you once more.
Great! This time I'm thoroughly prepared about rules!
Let's do 5 vs 5 now.
If you have no questions, get serious.
We always play for the win!
Maybe she can. Look at Maho's hand, she is really holding Erika like she belongs to her.
I'm going to win this time!
Quite the talker, this year's newbie.
Maho-sama, why did you accept the challenge?
I'm pretty fond of such straightforward personality.
By the way, I don't know what she means about the rules. Haven't Maho proposed 5vs5 herself?
All enemy tanks destroyed.
We lost... one?
Newbie's not bad.
I lost again.
I even changed changed the rules thinking I could win...
Despite everything, I got beaten into the ground.
That senpai is unbelievable.
I feel like I can't win no matter what I do.
Did I come to a place like this?
Notice how Maho is impressed, but Erika herself hates it. The theme of "pride" is indeed strong here. Prideful person will always blame themselves in every situation, because they judge themselves by very high standards. That's why LN version of Erika drowning but blaming Miho is not consistent with her character.
Itsumi-san's eyes were all red inside the tank!
Who would have thought Itsumi-san can be so shaken up?
Well, it's like this.
Erika-chan got carried away too much until now.
Serves her right.
She is so full of herself.
Thinks we're below her too.
Isn't that too mean?
What was said,
Cannot be taken back.
LN Erika drowning but blaming Miho for running away after defeat caued by the incident (as oppossed to herself staying after taking part in same incident) is actually consistent with prideful character. "Look, weakling, I stay while you run". Not saying I particularly like that twist, juts pointing out the one thing of it that's actually consistent (lots of other things aren't).
To laugh at someone who fought with all their might behind their back!
Have you no shame!?
Making fun of someone with calm faces is vulgar!
Trying alone and failing is thousand times more worthy!
If you want to continue Senshado from now on
Search for the truth by yourselves!
And struggle for real too!
Like Itsumi did!
Ni.. Nishizumi... senpai
Bad news: no Miho or Maho yet.
Good news: this
fuck forgot quote
Tina is that you?
Forgot the picture.
I never thought about things like that before.
Why did I practice Senshado until now?
Maybe to see if I'm strong.
Maybe to feel good about winning.
Never heard about searching the truth.
Is it because Nishizumi-senpai has that, she's so strong?
She was like a woman possessed!
I'm not even in the first class.
It's like we can't even be compared.
I don't understand things like my truth or my pride that well, but...
The meaning of "strength"
If I'm with that person, I will find it for sure!
With Captain Nishizumi!
Daily Girls Und Panzer threads? I'm down for that. Also Nonna best girl.
And it's done.
1st years, stand in two rows!
Now we'll start full practice with new recruits!
One by one, say your name and rank!
1st year A class, Aizawa Ryouko!
Itsumi Erika enrolled in Kuromorimine Academy
1st year B class...
A story from a while back...
Hide your women, the mongols are coming.
>pravda will never see through our disguise
>100% slav certified abibas
Is that why Nina stronk?
Nina could easily fuck up a bear.
Who would have been Hitler's favorite girl? Remember, he was a pretty chill dude - took amphetamines, drew paintings, looked at girls taking crap from below the glass, played with his dog.
Please do not bully Nina or the loaders for that matter.
Every time I told my friend that Japanese businessman like to lay below a glass table and look at woman taking crap while squatting on top of it she told me "Hitler liked that too". I have no idea if it's true. But we agreed that Hitler was pretty cool.
She's kind of easy to bully because she thinks she's hot shit but life continues to shovel shit in her face. Even if I make jokes about her in every thread, I like her very much, basically I'm just being tsun.
Why she's so perfect?
She's based off this dude. Are you still surprised?
They're just a great set of girls, and they look so comfy.
God bless the Finns.
>life continues to shovel shit in her face
She won in LA2, verey surprisingly. By the way, what happened? Did her gunner just shot better? That's not very interesting conclusion. But I guess you can't come up with a crazy finale every time.
Soviets themselves were advised to fight untill they are killed or kill themselves rather than getting captured due to being scared of concentration camps, plus revealing info was considered a treacherous act, after returning from German imprisonment in 1945 you would go to gulag instead.
Towels? In a sauna? What is this blasphemy?
>God bless the Finns.
God bless the Finns indeed, they did the world a favour by buying up the Dutch Leopard 2s.
One of the better deals the FDF has ever made. iirc the Dutch regretted selling them when things heated up in Ukraine.
>iirc the Dutch regretted selling them when things heated up in Ukraine.
To be fair, most their citizens used to have an uncaring attitude about their military (a Dutch guy I asked went "so what we do literally nothing with them") and their government fell for the cost-cutting meme until MH17 happened.
>that cute apparent habit of closing one eye and smiling
My god Mika, STOP
In northern Sweden they put the drive-ins closer to the ground to make it easier to order food from a snowscooter.
Do you think they put the windows higer up on School-ship resturaunts because students order food from tanks?
Why is Oroyu flashing her panties to everyone?
Wish I can come up with an answer.
Isn't going to happen for a while, the Leopard 2A7 just entered service after many years of wrangling around with concepts.
This picture pretty much explained some of the key differences it had over the Leopard 2A6.
We'll see how long it'll take before the project implodes due to disagreements over even the most basic of things.
Like the one that resulted in both the Typhoon and the Rafale.
Why is the Wehraboo sitting on a limey tank?
>The 2A7 has a number of survivability enhancements including the latest generation passive armour and belly armour providing protection against mines and improvised explosive devices. It is also fitted for, but not with, additional passive side protection armour. (The attachment points are on the slots above the third and fourth roadwheels.)
>Other significant changes include an auxiliary power unit allowing all subsystems to be run with the main engine switched off. It also has an air-conditioning system for the crew and turret electronics and all-electric gun-control equipment. (If I'm not mistaken the grilled part located on the rear above the drive sprocket in the picture.)
>The commander is provided with a new roof-mounted stabilised panoramic sight that includes a third-generation thermal imager, laser rangefinder, and charge coupled device camera. The gunner also has a third-generation thermal sight.
>It is equipped with IFIS, a command and weapon deployment system for command support from group to battalion level. It enables the connection of the vehicle sensors and the vehicle data into a network-based operation.
Because both countries are full of xenophobic, depressed, anti-social autists.
They're basicaly the best countries ever.
I want a SoL focusing solely on the Finns and their cozy day to day adventures..
At least it's happening compared to you know, this.
>Pretty much most MBT had them
More than that, most of the western cold war tanks have literally the same gun
>L7 105 mm early
>Reinmetall 120 mm later
You can see it on picrelated.
That or the Soviet/Russia 2A46 125 mm.
I want animated Maginot OVA.
The_chieftain who is part of WoT's staff asked these questions to the GuP producer but it was in november so, perhaps the producer would change his mind after knowing the movie made 800 million yen?
>playing tank games with controllers
>keyboard clearly visible
>a mouse is surely nearby
we just aren't close to their levels
Miho was killed by Fleshpound.
LN Erika is the one who issued the command that led to her tank getting dunk'd, then finding out her savior abandoned her.
Manga Erika was really angry about Miho running away moreso than the loss itself (shouting about the effects that kind of abandonment had on her comrades back at their school, alongside them having to see Miho pop up as an enemy commander during the bracket drafts).
Both instances have her seeing her friend run away (from the school and sport itself) rather than stay, take her lumps and continue onward. Erika was placed into the vice commander position by Maho knowing full well she was just a Miho replacement who couldn't match up.
It's all pretty consistent, really. Though I wonder if LN Erika had to endure the "silent bullying" that made some of the drowning survivors transfer out of the school
which served as Miho's motivation for leaving as wellaccording to the manga.
Pretty much. Though the biggest question from the German/France project would be the matter of autoloaders.
Another shot of the Leopard 2A7 with the APU clearly shown.
A combination of cost-cutting and the fact that the Challenger 2 was deemed an export failure so they basically stopped trying to evolve it further. Smoothbore gun has been dropped from upgrades due to cost since they need a new turret.
That sucks. I really like how the Chally looks.
To be fair they can't do much when there are large numbers of used (and cheaper) Leopard 2s and M1 Abrams on the market, with their respective countries willing to rebuild them to newer standards.
In fact, most if not all of the Leopard 2A7s (about 20 of them) that entered service were rebuilt from the Dutch Leopard 2A6es that did not go to Finland.
>by adding more crazy things... the entire premise becomes more acceptable
You make good points about her personality actually. Maybe I reconsider. I made collage from the manga to illustrate the problem. If the movie ignores the LN version like TV series did, it's probably not canon, but maybe it will actually confirm it.
That's not the M1A3, that's one of the CATTB prototypes, probably one of the later "Block III" models.
>CATTB – Experimental model with a 140 mm smoothbore gun, heavy armored turret and upgraded hull based on the M1's chassis. It had a mechanical loading system in turret bustle, a new engine and probably other upgrades, never fielded. The tank went into trials in 1987–1988. CATTB stands for Component Advanced Technology Test Bed.
The bigger (and heavier) 140mm cannon and auto-loader explains the giant turret bustle. I have doubts they'd be transporting the new M1A3 variant out in the open like that.
I didn't want to make explicit conclusions, it's up to the reader. Some people suggested she was.
>Nishizumi-dono, do you believe love can bloom on the battlefield?
>Pravda is working on a new research. A weapon to surpass Maus Gear.
>The hymen I've lost, the comrades I've lost. It won't stop hurting. It's like they're all still there!
>This is the best tank made by men. 88 mm, more than enough to pierce any armor!
>Nee-chan, we weren't just tools! Yes, we followed orders, but we fought for what we believed in!
>Bonple sent us to hell, but we're going even deeper! Take back everything we've lost!
>Rin, I'm already a lesbian.
You know, I usually imagine Hime being voiced by Kawasumi Ayako (Saber) since I'm used to to the way she says "Rin" with her calm voice.
They did develop the GE/Honeywell LV100-5 to use in the Crusader and Abrams. It was smaller, lighter, and used some 50% less parts. Crusader got canceled, so the engine hasn't seen production yet.
Sugoi monogatari, onii-chan.
To do Rabu Rabbu. You know, the manga that is NOT the one you quoted.
Hint: All the trully silly web4komas with raging lesbo Hana, raging imoutolesbobsessed Maho, sad Erika cosplaying as Miho, Darjeeling appearing uninvited, Nonna slipping drugs to Katyusha... are from the Lovey Dovey Panzer webcomic. The ones of Rabu Rabu are either "tame" web4komas, or not in web4koma ormat.
Actually that is an obscure meme.
When you press all the keys in the top two rolls of your keyboard, you get qawsedrftgyhujikolp.
In Japanese, it turn into くぁwせdrftgyふじこlp
And it is pronounced:
Ku ~a w se drftgy Fujiko lp
One that note, One Punch Man manga and Anime has Lightning Max pronounce it when he was surprised by Deep Sea King. The key to the meme is that "Fujiko" appears in the middle.
well anon, thats ok and as it is your opinion, I will accept it as this.
if you're talking shit again I will find you and subject you to intense reeducation
Having an auto-loader can lead to smaller turrets because you can eliminate a crew in the turret. If you're still crewing the turret, adding an auto-loader makes things even bigger.
>By the way, I don't know what she means about the rules.
I think it means she's chosen less people (let's say less of former game's players on Maho's side and less of former game's players on her side - she likely blames part of in on the difference of skill of others, surely thinking the ones of Maho's team were "help" for Maho while the ones of her team are "baggage" for her. Remember, at this point, her pride doesn't let accept Mah is THAT MUCH better than her)
If so, "the rules" would mean "the norms for this game" (number of players, place of the fight, and other arrangements, etc).
Maybe Proofreader Anon will think of a way to write it better in English.
Well, that's pretty much what it is. In the english language its pronounciation changes wildly depending on the context. On its own it's a sort of "kyu", but in the context of the queen example in >>135949130, it's pronounced as "kw". Context is key in the english language, though it's often random and detached from the written form.
For example, I don't know how you get an "ei" sound from the letter A, and then go on saying "tarp" instead of "teirp". Or how the letter E is a long "i" to you on its own and in the word "lead" (clue), but a short "e" in the word "lead" (metal). In both of these words the letter E is also followed by a seemingly silent A.
Maybe this would all make more sense if I was a linguist and we were having this discussion in real life. I'm actually not sure if the above makes any sense at all to you, since I'm not a native english speaker.
I'm guessing Anzu's specialty is cured sweet potatoes.
>Maybe this would all make more sense if I was a linguist
It would make sense if you'd remember the 14th-century Bongs changed the way they spoke but didn't bother to change the way they wrote. In two words, they're nuts
I am a native English speaker and readily admit that English is a bastardized, fuck-ugly abomination of a language when it comes to consistent pronunciation and certain rules.
Still a prettier language to listen to and write than any Chinese variant, though
>readily admit that English is a bastardized, fuck-ugly abomination of a language
Have you no pride? You were born with a knowledge of the only language that matters that NO ONE else can have.
I want to put Katyusha and Nonna in a gulag!
I have to agree it's a nice language to have as a global language. Easy on the ears. I really like british accents, especially geordie and BBC english. Nigerian english is fun as well, wish there was more of it around.
To speakers of any civilized tongue, able to master your simple grammar in a month or less, it's actually difficult to be able to separate one slurred butchering of a word from the slurred butchering of the following word in a phrase. Spoken English is all but easy to understand. I have more ease understanding what a Japanese speaker says, and I don't speak a single word of Japanese.
Also, to further drive home the point your opinion is worthless and not worth giving, the Japanese actually slur and shorten and blur their words far, far more than in English. In fact, the majority of Japanese slang is devoted to as saying as much in a little a breath as possible.
I have no problem with english, actually sometimes I prefer it over german. When you have a fuckton of dialects which different words and sometimes different grammar WITHIN ONE STATE, it gets a bit difficult, thank god for Hochdeutsch (high-german) which standardized it.
German, too. English is pretty easy and can be learned quickly because you have plenty of sources to learn it from. Differences between dialects and accent aren't that bad as people make them out to be.
I started learning Czech and that is way more complicated than any roman language.
Why didn't they get more screen time? Also, best girls.
She needed 61 minutes to get the helmet on?
I actually think in English instead of my native language, because I watch more engsubs, American movies and TV or play videogames, than I talk to the people around. "It is no nation we inhabit, but a language". So I feel like I lost my fatherland already. America's cultural dominance (along with me being a fucking nerd) took my tongue.
Fair enough. I forgive you for mistaking me with a German. My gripe is not with the English language in general, is with how it's difficult to understand in spoken form (even if I do speak it corrcetly).
Your point being? Either you are wrong, or you are right. If you are wrong and I've heard lots of Japanese, the point remains that I have more ease recognising the words they said even if I don't understad them. If you're right and I've not heard more than a little Japanese, it even makes BETTER the point that I recognise the words they say better than the words of a a language I'm actually quite fluent with.
You should hear the Spanish local variations. Sometimes they even have to SUB THEM IN TV (in Spanish, too) for people to understand the one speaking.
jurdanos, I'm looking at you.
>Your point being?
That you're full of shit, spoken Japanese can be horrible to understand since they just may butcher the whole sentence together and if you don't understand it you have no way of telling the single words from it.
I feel some pretty bad vibes in this thread.
We should post more garupans
Idk, even though I speak English natively I never really have trouble understanding what someone has said, even with ebonics. But with Japanese I really struggle to hear even words I know. I'll listen naked, then read subtitles and go "fuck, I knew half that sentence".
That's cool. I've always wondered if that was a phenomena. I sometimes find myself waking up in the middle of the night with strings of Japanese running through my head if I've crammed particularly hard the night before.
Let's just all learn finnish. It's a really versatile and expressive language once you get the hang of it. All the compound words and agglutination make for great lyrics and poetic potential.
Might take a while to learn it, but then you'd be part of the global finnish community of roughly five million people in the coldest, darkest corner of northern Europe. The utility is fucking astounding here, guys, c'mon.
t. tytöt ja panssari
Yeah I realize the inanity of that statement. But I can still understand how some things would be difficult for an ESL, like arbitrary things such as moose or geese, but I've never thought of English as that much of a difficult to distinguish language, dialects aside.
And also, this is true, but your original argument rode on how you said Japanese was easy to understand, when in fact, they are much less concise with their pronunciation.
I know Japanese has a gender-neutral pronoum (which I assume she's using). Thing is, English doesn't. If so, correct TL (if we know the gender of the person she refers to) is to use a normal pronoum. "That person" is usually reserved for situations where the translator doesn't know, or doesn't want to reveal, the gender of teh person being talked about.
The closer to the center of this image, the better the garupan.
>you said Japanese was easy to understand
Ah, I see. I didn't say "easy", I said "easier" (exact words were
>I have more ease understanding).
I see now why you were mistaken.
I've always thought of Finns, Finland, and the Finnish as one of the most alien and weirdest cultures around, but the new girls have warmed me up to it, admittedly.
The language still looks horrifyingly complicated though. Could I rest assured in your competence as my Finnish language buddy?
>Rommel is her soul name
>she isn't that significant in a panzer series
I am angry. Angry about Tonks.
I want to take Erwin's hat and pat her head
Slowpoke on noticing, but
>English or anything having to do with America.
Anon, the problems in English pronountiation come form the Great Vowel Shif of the I4th century.
It has even been mentioned oftentimes in /ak/ threads by historyfags (one of the reasons I love GuP threads is because random history trivia). Nothing to do with America here.
The language is really fucked up. Luckily, most Finns understand Swedish so most Nordics will get by fine. Most Finns are inroverted as hell though so if you act like an American they will think of you as loud and intrusive. Finland follows the Nordic model economically but not socially so you get the good healthcare and public education without the social bullshit you see in Sweden. Finland is also pretty /k/ friendly compared to the rest of Europe.
Pic related is what happens if you try to talk to a Finn on the street.
The BT-42 is probably really comfy as far as tanks go. The suspension is smooth and the turret is big and spacious.
Eh, nah. In all honestly I would only inflict this language on my worst enemy. It's a complete waste of time if you're not a massive fan or a highly talented polyglot (or just a native speaker to begin with). It takes a lot of effort and dedication for both the student and the teacher, and while learning by immersion is always very effective, it requires you to move to a place that can get so cold and dark during the winter that it might actually give you depression, and where small talk and chatting up strangers is generally considered unusual behaviour.
Of course, as with anything, if you really have the mind and the time for it, best of luck. You may want to consider some professional tutoring, the average finn tends to be utterly useless when it comes to teaching finnish grammar in a comprehensive manner. It just tends to come naturally to most of us, so we kind of forget about the technicalities after high school.
Most finns born after 1980 hardly know Swedish well enough to converse fluently. Most at this point prefer English anyway if there's a barrier.
Of course there are regional differences. If you move around the the western coast, the chance of running to people in the Swedish fluent municipalities/towns/whatever rises above single digit percentages in population.
As far as I know at least since I've never lived there, being from central/eastern Funland.
Such is life in the Nordics, but especially Finland.
>dark during the winter that it might actually give you depression, and where small talk and chatting up strangers is generally considered unusual behaviour.
Whoa. Now I actually want to go there. Maybe I should follow my mother. I need to get better at Japanese before I can cramp Finnish into my head though.
Most associate this with the "civil/officer service hours" syndrome. As in 0800-1600 work cycle (or at school/uni/whatever).
During winter the sun can rise to peak at 1000 and disappear after 1400 so you leave to work in darkness and get home when it's already dark. Some people have hard time adjusting to it.
Once again, things aren't as they appear in my animes.
I do think it'd be enjoyable to visit though. The concept of a mid-day night has always fascinated me.
Finland is the dream country for most anons since their autistic behavior is considered normal.
Having lived abroad, I consider that stereotype to be horribly exaggerated.
All i know is that Swedes to Finns are what the French are to brits. Spoiled, efeminate and snobby.
>I was made to speak their language. With each new post my masters changed. Along with the words they made me speak. With each change, I changed too. My thoughts, personality, how I saw right and wrong. Words - can - kill
>America is a country of liberty. A meeting of immigrants. Instead of simply assimilating, its citizens live alongside others. So the Major sought a system that used information, *words*, to control the subconscious.
the greatest symbiotic parasite the world's ever known isn't microbial. It's linguistic. Words are what keeps civilization, our world, alive. Free the world, not by taking men's lives but by taking their tongues.
Though we also have something that's even too autistic to be acceptable. Knowing when to speak and what to speak in social gatherings is considered proper.
Though what a finn considers too autistic might be something that a foreigner would consider to be closer to a suicide watch potato/social wheelchair than autism.
>to place typesetting them at the very top of my to-do list
I'll wait for tomorrow (or until thread archives) to give Proofreader Anon a chance to go over the chapter before typesetting, but have a teaser
>AP Shells already did page 1 on a whim
No teaser, then.
Rewatching it right now. Probably the first series I ever rewatched.
I feel dirty for using streams though
The BT-42 had one engagement against a T-34. HEAT rounds from a 4.5-incher have the power to punch through a T-34 from any angle but the fuses on the rounds that were mounted in the BT-42 were defective. The BT-42 fired a shitton of HEAT but it didn't even chip the paint of the T-34 because what they were doing is equivalent to throwing a grenade at someone without pulling the pin.
As always. The tank is innocent.

And society just moves forward from the fact that everyone tries to their own part in society by paying taxes and doing their job.
The politics are total circus though and barely can be called enabling/progressing the society. They should just fire all the monkeys and hand the governance to no-face/no-voice blue collar workforce/corporation drones.

Generally yes, finns have nothing against germans and consume a lot of german products. Finns don't idolize any specific people groups the way the japanese do, so nationalities don't generally impress us anywhere near as much as good manners and a friendly demeanor. Still, germans have a good standing among finns.
Basically your reception will be warm, but nothing flashy. People will be happy to help you with things, but you have to ask them for help first. Finns are not very socially proactive. However, even though finns consider small talk unusual, they won't leave you hanging if you just ask for directions or something similar. They won't hesitate to use an appropriate language to get the message through. Many are fluent english speakers, plenty know at least some german as well. I studied german in primary school for 7 years as my compulsory first foreign language.
That's silly, but to each his own. Thing is, the dark winters are contrasted by bright, hot summers that make the waiting worth it. Three months of bliss for those who love summertime.
Here's a timelapse video from central Finland, showing the difference in daylight between the seasons.

Our language has that vulgar brevity which yours lacks.
As far as i know, Nordic and Baltic people have similar mannerisms although that might be because i'm in the middle of it all and i can use my local culture as a refference point.
>HEAT rounds from a 4.5-incher have the power to punch through a T-34 from any angle
>the fuses on the rounds that were mounted in the BT-42 were defective
Lemme clarify for you. The matter wasn't that those particular rounds' fuses were defective. the matter was that the DESIGN of the rounds' fuses was defective. They were INTENDED to be able to punch through a T-34, but they failed to detonate the warhead at the right time to create a proper cone. No Finnish-made 4.5'' HEAT round ever worked.
And, because there was no other HEAT round ever made for that British gun (never intended to fire anything other than HE, so the Finns had to design its own round based upon a German one), nope. "HEAT rounds from a 4.5-incher have the power to punch through a T-34" is not a correct statement.
Of which, of course, the BT-42 is innocent.
why does it always turn into autistic blogposting every time Finland is brought up...
Twin co-axials because fuck infantry.
Kiku, plunge into the smoke screen
You OK, Mary
I've been wondering if this tank, or one of its predecessors (m/38, L-60), could work with a crew of two. How accessible are the gunner's controls for the commander, for example? Weight-wise it's tankathlon material, and seems pretty nimble. Looks great, too.
The commander- is out cold again...
I'll leave the rest to you, Mary
Glorious Landsverk engineering.
>what they were doing is equivalent to throwing a grenade at someone without pulling the pin
More (given improper HEAT cone formation) like pointing a flame towards the butt of someone wearing asbestos long johns.
Torpedo fell off (no idea if that's the right term for this)
Hard to starboard!!
We already have a tankette for Viggen tankathlon.
The commanders hatch has a helmet instead of a periscope.
We can still make it
Europa at 11 O'clock!
The Europa is held up
the Europa received fire on the bridge. Captain and commander/XO are injured (no idea which one would be used in this specific situation)
No sights of the Unebi in the vicinity
