If I liked it back then I can just rewatch it and it's just as enjoyable if not even more.
Rewatched Sword of the Stranger at least 10 times because it's just a great action movie.
Hell even stuff like Death Note is rewatchable because they build up tension so well.

Even with stuff like End of Evangelion this doesn't bother me. Sure the first time hast the "What the fuck did I just watch" effect but it still has that feeling to it when rewatching. But maybe that's just me.

The real soul crusher is when you read through an extremely good series that isn't finished and you catch up only to find out it's on hiatus. Or it's being translated officially so the fans stopped doing it and you won't see a new chapter for 2 1/2 years.
