Knowing this, it is safe to assume that the slider you're on will end before the next one begins. That way it plays well by keeping your tapping on-beat and it won't be very confusing once executed.

So I just downloaded this game and going through the beginner playlist. I'm stuck at the second part of the Scrambled Eggman song on normal where there's like 8 beats I have to press rapidly. Do I just spam z/x, or is there a different method to this madness?

If you're talking about regular osu, the only tip is "get a tablet". The earlier the better. If no option but mouse, there are other two buttons you can use, check your keyboard config.

If you're talking about mania, build up finger independence, and then stamina. Also maybe pick up an actual arrow-stomp sim to feel like you're doing something with your life. (That is, if you intend to git gud. Otherwise, being a casual is fine too)
