From volume 21. The last paragraph says "Well then. Invasion! Squid Girl will end at in the next volume, 22. If you could accompany me 'til the end, I would be happy."
22 volumes is perfectly respectable for a manga like this. In fact, it's impressive that the author could think up that much content already. Better than going on for too long and becoming stale.
Considering chapters are half-lenght, it's pretty good. I hope the author brings back the octopus girl for the final storyline.
I'm glad scans have finally picked up the pace in the past few months. I still hope it gets published in my country because I really want to buy it.
How else would you expect it to end? I expect Tako Musume (or however she's actually called) to offer her to return to live in the sea and Ika deciding that the beach is now her home. Not much more.
>/a/'s newfags never watched the anime and never will
Probably my favorite series so im pretty sad to see it end, but it had to happen sooner or later. Bye Ika-chan
>Quits just as the squid girl phenomenon is hitting its peak
Which would you prefer more?
They visit Ika's secret homeworld under the sea.
Ika is discovered to be a normal human girl that somehow obtained powers and thinks she is a different species
I can't say that 22 volumes isn't a good place to stop, but between this and Nichijou nips are suddenly killing my two favourite comedy manga, I'm not fucking ready.
Doesn't make sense after Splatoon taking Japan by storm. Millions of copies sold, an official partnership with a whole restaurant town, merchandise, toys, multiple mango, watches, a clothing line and a huge official tournament in a stadium.
Why kill your Squid Girl just when Squid Girls are the most popular thing in your home country?
Everything it telling me to kill myself in 2016.
>Ika will never go to school and have school hijinx
>the girl who wants to fuck her will never get the chance
>the lifeguard dude will never fuck the girl at the shop
>the octopus will never return
So many unresolved plot points. I don't know if I want to read it.
will sanae ever get a kissu from her precious squid?
>tfw newfag and watched it on a whim not even knowing it was liked on /a/
>How else would you expect it to end?
She finds that woomys have a large enough army to overthrow the earth, teams up with them and utterly bloodbaths everyone?
>Let the red ink flow
Will Chizuru finally notice Goro?
Oh J who translated the earlier chapters who is in heaven, aren't you glad to finally let go?
There's a story in volume 18 where the gang goes to a water park, Goro tries to act cool to impress Chizuru, he's actually really scared of water slides but Chizuru happily accepts to ride one with him instead of belittling him and Eiko is left wondering if things between them might be actually close to developing. There's a good chance it'll happen.
Aw. I was actually reading the whole thing since a few weeks ago and was thinking "this is one of those series that can just about go forever, I wonder when it will end?"
Well, no complaints here. It's a very solid series. Congrats to the author.
