Anyone read this VN?
Episoide was surprisingly good. The scenery was nice and I really like the design of the machinery.
Seems like there's going to be more to the plot than just husbando.
I'm surprised they cut out the shota from the prologue. Is he going to show up at all?
Also, it sucks that they're doing Kakeru route. Senri is clearly superior.
Played the Vita game and parts of the fandisk.
The anime is pure shit. Especially the designs.
It's filled with interesting plot points that mostly doesn't connect in the end, but isn't terrible.
First episode was terrible though, they changed the introduction and focused on the blandest main boy and main girl
Senri is the only good boy Koharu has. At least he'll appear more frequently than the other extra boys because he's
If it was focused on Nanami it'd be better in various points; she's far better than Koharu, her main boy is Akito who is also good and
in his route Koharu ends up with Senri. Also Mikoto goes with Natsuhiko. It's been a while I played it though I'm not sure about the last part.
>A group even worse than fucking funi
Holy shit, this is hell. Fuck Hulu.
Just what a shit anime like this deserves.
Noone is putting any effort in this.
Ahh, I haven't read it and I'm not sure if my Japanese is good enough for it yet since I've only read a couple moege. Comparing it to the VN designs though, yeah, it is a bit unfortunate.
I made it a personal rule to not rely on translations for anything but seasonal anime since I started learning as sort of a motivational thing. Good to hear that it's not that difficult though, I'll probably give it a try.
You should start watching seasonal anime as raws as well.
It's really great to be able to avoid funi, shitty memes and general shit translations. Most seasonal animes aren't that good anyway so it doesn't matter if you don't understand 100%.
If you want decent romance in about half of the routes, you can buy it but don't bet on the plot because there's a bunch of plot holes. The protagonists are also voiced in the game.
Try Code:Realize or Hakuouki if you'd rather be invested in plot, they're better titles. C:R especially because the plot and the characters are good, that includes the MC.
Yeah, I guess that's a good point. I should probably at least start with an SoL that has source material I can quickly read through beforehand though so I won't be completely lost if I get caught up on unknown vocab.
There's more than one MC, and while the one they're focusing is the worst of them she's better than these two you mentioned. Amnesia-chan is basically a dead fish.
They kind of butchered her in the first episode, all she did was "eeeh?" and fawn over a boy that she barely knows. Most of his lines for her are from later in his route.
Pic related, best MC but she had 5 lines in this episode.
It's like the other anons mentioned.
They're also voiced. After you pick the MC there's another chapter to introduce the three boys she hangs up with and then you can pick which route to start first.
We are just right over half the list.
Amnesia-chan is super cute but she's basically dead and Orion has to speak for her. You'd think it's because of the narrative but when she actually recovers her memories she doesn't have a fixed personality, it changes over the routes; a bitch, a dumb bitch or just plain dumb.
Reminder that the third from right magic girl is voiced by Horie Yui.
And there's this cutie in a rather new game voiced by Nakahara Mai.
Why is Otome stuff utterly boring?
The entire episode focused on a generic dead-fish and an equally generic bishounen.
There were 10 other characters and their role was basically exposition. I didn't even learn what the central conflict in the plot was.
Otome and reverse harem in general always need at least 26 episodes if you ask me, it's not like harems where you can manage it in 12/13 episodes.
I can't think of a recent otome adaption that wouldn't have been better if it had more episode.
Holy shit, it has art by pako? This man is quickly rising to be one of my favorite character designers. Absolutely based. Would watch an anime of it despite not typically watching otome game anime.
To be fair, this time it was the adaptation's fault, mostly. Norn9 is not a great game but it's not terrible like the average.
The introduction in the game was made by a little boy who encounters the first MC (the pink haired girl) and they explain the basic points to them. This episode they basically jumped into a route without expanding anything and made the worse heroine of the bunch more retarded than usual. If I'm correct, these scenes where the girl is saved aren't in the game at all.
I don't know why, it's just something I noticed. Maybe it's because harem tend to be adaption of a LN and it's easy to make 13 episodes out of that, reverse harem tend to be vn adaptions making it hard to make something good.
Not him, but otome games tend to have a very large cast of bachelors and it's really difficult to even show a condensed version of their characters with a 13 episode set. If they gave each boy in this series an episode, we'd be out 9, leaving 4 for, well, everything else.
In addition to having about double the average cast of suitors as a bishoujo game, and thus bishoujo adaptations, the individual stories tend to be conflicting. Bishoujo games often offload the romantic conclusion towards the end, where the individual girl's story might involve dating her early, it usually doesn't change a huge amount. In otome games, it's common to have the protagonist and the male love interest get together right at the beginning and build the plot around their relationship dynamic and issues, meaning that adapting one story will cause trouble for other stories.
Omnibus or a ground up rewrite is usually the way better adaptations go.
Amagami SS was the perfect harem anime in that sense. 4 episodes for each girl covering the basic of their routes making the viewer interested. Even if you gave each guy an episode, that would be trying to adapt a 7-8 hour long route into 20 minutes and that's a fucking terrible idea.
Kakeru looks like a perfect bishounen but he's an asscrack that bullies his shipmates and lies in front of everyone not giving a fuck. In this first episode he was basically a generic bland bishie.
Ugly and cheap looking
Why did they have to focus on the most boring route of the game. I would have even preferred one of the worst routes to enjoy the trainwreck.
Senri was Koharu's only good route.
A shame that adaptations for otome always seem to follow the route of the poster boy.
I wonder if they are just going to completely write Sorata out.
>If it was focused on Nanami it'd be better in various points
Agreed, Koharu was a pretty cute innocent and naive airhead type and I loved her in her routes. But Nanami and Mikoto were definitely better characters.
Natsuhiko gets wrecked by Sakuya in Nanami's Akito Route
She's a cuter Rei clone
Most seem to like her with Akito, but I like her more with Heishi
She's a moe dandere. I also found her story the best among the girls.
They compliment each other well, especially in a kitchen. Kinda liked Ron's too
minus him going potential rapist on her but the rest of her scenes with him were cute.
Ah feel like replaying some parts of her route now, she's just the cutest.
You're a surprise because nobody likes Sakuya at all. I don't hate him but
things like throwing Koharu's konpeito off or general obssession with Mikotorubbed me the wrong way. I think Itsuki has more bad points but still.
