Saw this coming a mile away but fucking shit this dude is more than just operator, he's fucking mental.
>>
Did a romantic subplot ever pop up?
>>
>>135783607
Took me a moment to realize what he did. Man. The heck.

Time to check out the new chapter, then.
>>
>>135783607
Did he fuse with his ghost or something? Switched places with it?
I stopped reading after MC and eyebrows met the guy whose girlfriend was in the hospital at the hospital.
>>
>>135783713
Oh wait, never mind. My guess was totally off. Seems like he didn't skin himself and disguise his Akin with it after all.

>>135783790
Nah. He regenerated from a hand he chopped off and had sent to the building everyone is at after liquefying his entire body.
>>
>>135783808
Huh, strange, but makes sense. I just don't remember them ever regenerating with those "bandages" like that, reminded me of how the ghosts look a lot more than how their regen works.
>>
>>135783790
He chopped off his hand, hid it among some fried chicken or someshit, mailed it to the building MC and eyebrows are camping at, then went through a woodchipper so he would regenerate at the hand that is now in the building.
>>
so the reason nagai changed so much since the timeskip is because the mental clash he had with sato?

I'm starting to think that the shadowy stand thing has something to do with Egypt mummy because of the immortality and bandages.

You have to remember that it's excruciatingly painful to remove your own organs, plus you'd have to be very careful working on yourself or you'd fuck up the operation. If you tried to use hardcore painkillers, you'd have to keep re-applying them every time you died. Satou's the only Ajin we've seen who is able to withstand any pain at all really, he doesn't even seem to react to it anymore, so he's probably the only one who can sell his organs easily.
>>
How the fuck do you not notice a hand with the x-ray machine. Also, why did they even order food in the middle of a terrorist attack.
>>
>>135790526
Satou's probably psycho enough to have repeatedly put himself through enough agony to become numbed to most pain.
Reminder he just casually chopped off his own arm without his face twitching even once.

>>
>>135790562
They didn't - he ordered it to be delivered to the building, assuming that dumbasses would jump at the opportunity for free food after the scare of a lifetime and wouldn't question it. You probably wouldn't notice it if it was one of dozens of pieces of fried food in a baggie; you'd assume it was just a weirdly shaped piece. Even if you did notice, your first thought would not be "someone's trying to sneak a fried hand into Forge Security!"

The only people who knew that Satou wasn't there and wasn't captured were Kei, Tosaki and their team; so everyone relaxed somewhat, believing there was no longer any Ajin threat possible.

talking about organs
What would happens if he regenerate from his organs thats already inside of another person?
>>135790790
Not realy the Satou on that pic "died"
and a perfect copy of him regenerate from his hand, that guy is psycho.
>>
Wait, since Sato's brain was completely destroyed in the grinder, isn't he supposed to "die" as Sato and start anew with a new personality?
>>
Whoever's writing this knows how to make good use out of a single ability.
>>
>>135790886
He could've de-boned the hand, we have no idea what he did or didn't do with it beyond send a bag of fried chicken with a fried hand in it to Forge Security.

Regardless - even if they did take the hand out, he'd still already be inside Forge Security when he teleported.
>>
>>135790895
>What would happens if he regenerate from his organs thats already inside of another person?
Interesting thought. Does it count as a part of him after he's already died and regenerated once from a different part of his body? Or would it continue to serve as a "back-up"?
>>
>>135790943
>>135790895
>Not realy the Satou on that pic "died"
>since Sato's brain was completely destroyed in the grinder, isn't he supposed to "die" as Sato
No, that's not how it works - it wasn't very well explained earlier. You become a new person if your body does not regenerate *the same* piece. That is why he was threatening to decapitate Kei - if you cut off someone's head, their brain (and "personality", etc) is in their head. If you hold it away and wait until a *new* head regenerates atop the body, that head will not be the original head. If you simply crush the head and wait for it to regenerate, nothing changes.
>>
>>135790943
No, not a new personality. It would be the same personality, just "someone" else. A copy was born, but the copy is not the original/predecessor.
>>
>>135791015
For the reasoning I made in >>135791045,
I think it's safe to say that it doesn't count as a living part of him because it's no longer attached or "involved" with his body. If it does, that's OP as fuck and they'll never be able to beat him.

>>135791050

Do you not know how x rays works. They'd stlll see the hand outline. He didn't even clench his fist. Hell, he could've cut his fingers to make it less obvious.

Regardless, letting food in nobody ordered is still dumb especially in the middle of a fucking terrorist attack.

This manga is dumb.
>>
>>135790890
Yeah, you implied something similar, but you didn't say that he tortured himself to get to that point.
>>

>>
>>135791161
Didn't think I would have to.

>>135791180
>Don't they have to kill the ghost as well as the human at the same time?
In order to do what? Perma-kill an Ajin? Probably. It hasn't been tested because they've barely just verified the existence of the black ghost, can't force someone to summon the black ghost, and it's unlikely they would be able to find a means of restraining it long enough to kill it anyway as you can dismiss it at will if you have enough control.

My point was that the TSA is trained to recognize more things than "dangerous" crap. I don't think you're being honest with yourself - if your job was to look through thousands of bags a day and someone brought in a bag of fried chicken, you probably wouldn't look at it for more than a second to see if there was anything other than shapes on the screen. Even lower chances if you lived in Japan where shenanigans are much less likely.

This has absolutely nothing to do with the scenario presented in the manga. Maybe if he opened the attack with chicken hands, it'd make sense but right now they're in the middle of a terrorist attack. I'm pretty sure the Forge guys know they're dealing with Ajin too.
>>
>>135791045
Hate people with shit-tier reasoning like you. Unless you get every intact neuron back in its position again, molecules rearranging and forming a new identical "copy brain" does not mean you are the same person.

They're *not* in the middle of a terrorist attack. Hours have passed. The employees were told that *all* of the hostile Ajin were subdued.
>>
>>135791803
Are you retarded? That is literally what the characters say in the manga. You're the same person. Every intact neuron is back in its position again. Learn to fucking read. Your state of being *cannot change* after becoming an Ajin. Okuyama is still crippled in the exact same way, even after dying repeatedly. Your brain reverts to the exact same state it was before you died when you die as an Ajin. I'm not "reasoning", faggot, I'm "reading".
>>
>>135791805
The entire place is still locked down. Yes they are.
>>
>>135791893
This can only really by resolved by having an ajin's head cut off and then dangling it in front of the body as the new head grows in.

If after this happens, the new head has memories of watching his own head grow into place from the perspective of the dangling head (now deceased), then it's confirmed that ajin maintain a consistent identity across all lives

Otherwise, Ajin are simply having their consciousness severed and remade at a later point with a completely new identity that shares mosty of the old identity's traits.
>>
>>135791893
>That is literally what the characters say in the manga.
Where in the manga does it say stuff like " If you simply crush the head and wait for it to regenerate, nothing changes." or "You're the same person."? Or are you basing this on reverse logic?

>>135792007
Who's attacking them in the interim hours? Oh right, no one. So they're not being attacked, and they're not being terrorized.. I don't think there's a terrorist attack ongoing. I think some recent videogame had something like this. Math is directly derived from pure logic. I hate formalized advanced mathematics more than you can possibly dream, but it has its uses in representing points. We know our initial state (1) and we know the causal result of its modification (2). (+) is our modifier, and (x) is our modifying factor. Defining x, then, is a matter of knowing what makes the initial state into the result. x is knowable. Your train implies x is unknowable.

>>
>>135796736

>>
>>135796470
The novel The Boat of a Million Years kinda covers that premise: by revealing that you are an Ajin, you're opening yourself up to the possibility of being tortured or repeatedly killed or experimented upon. Historically, there may have been lots of Ajin that were simply never identified as such; were considered witches or demons or whatever. For all we know, ones in the past may have figured out ways to permanently die. Satou managed to figure out how to permakill himself in a relatively short period of time (~35 years at the most), it shouldn't be too surprising if others did too.
>>
>>135796829
No I mean I don't think she knew all the specifics of how her regeneration worked. Plus who would seriously consider killing themselves as a viable way to stave off prostitution? her first death was a pretty violent one and she isn't a madman like Satou, so her surviving the way she did makes sense for how I'd expect a normal human to respond to their situation.
>>
>>135797104
But she knew she had the regeneration ability, so at least trying to sell her blood was still an option.
>>
>>135796863
>Satou managed to figure out how to permakill himself
Did he? I remember he just figured out how to make it looks like an Ajin is killed, he basically forces them to create another copy of themselves, the Ajin is still there.

And if there have always been Ajin since distant past, it's more logical for them to form their own organizations, like the Illuminati in Angel and Demon, since humanity as a whole sees them as enemy anyway. With time, those organization should have been big enough to eventually overthrow humans' rule.
>>
>>135796373
Why didn't the first group of Ajin just become KFC instead of charging through the front door? She likely didn't think that there was any other option. She still didn't think like a person who could just respawn at any time she liked.

Besides, she most likely did not find it appealing to be constantly dying from starvation. And just like any person she needed money to get her life back on track.
>>
>>135798349
No no, it was a completely different part from that. He references in a chapter that I don't remember the fact that if there are two "lives" acting simultaneously in a video game and one dies, they will respawn at a later point. Destroying both the black ghost and the human body at the exact same time is assumed to be the means used to end both lives at once, and "end the game".

They didn't think of it, and Satou didn't offer any suggestions. He believed that it wouldn't even be *fun* for him to go shoot up the place; he didn't care what they did as long as they completed their mission.

fuck this manga is so good. i said it before and i say it again, the absence of duo-author and retcon of Nagai character is the best damn thing ever happened for this manga. you wouldnt have this kind of thrill if it just your typical Kaneki 2.0 vs motherfuckin Sato. This is the battle between 2 psychopaths and fuck this good.

I bet you will have two Ajins.

Agreed, dear friend.

I can't wait to see the heights of where Kei's brain takes his next plan to stop Satou. Maybe the attack helicopter dream will come true.

It's been said before but Nagai ain't really a psycho though. He definitely has teenager emotions and insecurities. But he also has a talent for dispassionate thinking and "doing whatever necessary". People blow what his asshole sister said out of proportion.

Yeah, I remember now, why didn't they try to know whether it works or not?

The best/worst things is that the movies will be in 3d, therefore it won't atract too many faggots that ruin the thread with memes

It will to an extent but you know what I mean

They have only recently confirmed the existence of the black ghost. That being said, as Okura mentioned: an Ajin can only summon the ghost once or twice a day, tops. They can also instantly dismiss the ghost when need be, so it would prove extraordinarily difficult to accomplish without a 100% willing subject. They could just summon the ghost twice deliberately, and then be rendered physically incapable of bringing it out thereby preventing their captors from attempting to permanently kill them.

i rather have ajin get proper adaptation from Madhouse even if its mean attracting all kind of faggottry blackhole (eg opm) rather than sit through 12 ep of abomination polygonal cgfest.

The manga would be better if Nagai really was a psycho.
Even the Nagai from the start of the manga would be better than what we ended up getting.

his total lack of empathy and multi-facade persona is more than enough for him to be psychopath. anon you dont need to be a deadpan edgy murderous bloodlusting killer to be considered one. Kei is a prime example of passive psychopath who just want to live a normal live without too much attention focused on him. i say he is pretty interesting character who right now has been constantly pushed from his comfort zone too many times and that leave him vulnerable to various emotion.
