We can all agree that the Dark Masters arc is quite sloppily executed in general, right?
Yamato's sudden turn to darkness was extremely bad, cringeworthy writing that was obviously a shit excuse to have Wargreymon and Metalgarurumon fight each other.
And it's just insult to injury that the tree Digimon that made Yamato go edge in the first place wasn't even killed by Yamato and instead got a stereotypical "you have failed me" death from Pinocchimon.
When you rewatch the series as an adult, you realize how lazy the whole show is. A quarter of the show is the stock digivolution sequence, stock attack animations, every villain that you thought was epic as a kid dies too easily and doesn't even do anything cool looking. The return to the real world comes and ends super quick compared to the memories I had of it as a kid. But I did enjoy the whole digital mystique it had, telephones in a beach, etc. If the animation was the same as the movies it might be watchable.
To be completely fair, though, he did resist for a good while before succumbing to the edgyness, and even then said edge lasted only a few episodes.
This is far more than could be said for the likes of Sasuke.
Then it seems you missed the whole point of the series, I just rewatched it before Tri came out by the way. The series is all about the characters and how they evolve along with their partners through the series, is an adventure, a fantastic adventure. I loved the music no matter how many times I hear it, and I actually liked the animation and stock animation you mention but maybe that's the nostalgia talking, but as an adult I appreciate the whole message and story more than when I was a kid.
no fuck you no
sauske's edge was borderline retarded
>i hate my brother he killed my family and all my clansmen...
>oh wait you mean he did it because my family was planning to attack the leaf and start another ninja world war because they didnt have enough power
>oh well i totally hate the ninja elders and now by default i also hate the leaf which is what my brother died to protect
>kills danzo well now i need to kill all the kages so i can be a kage so everyone can hate meeeeeeeeeeeee
so much edge god if he had died in part one from the cursed seal part 2 could of been enjoyable he ruined part 2.
Metalseadramon and Mechadramon seemed to be stronger than the both of them, at least evenly matched (apparently the symbols on Wargraymon's arms gives him advantage over dragon-type digis).
Piedmon kicked their asses and had to be saved by Magnaangemon (Angemon is deus ex incarnate so I don't count those).
Vamdemon was honestly ridiculous. Garudamon, Weregarurumon, and Angemon put up decent fights, but then he could fight 6 Digimon his level. VenomVamdemon was just as crazy. Adventure only had like 10 Ultimate levels which is pretty weird from the perspective of the whole franchise and for power level shit.
>in comparison to the two first seasons
Zero Two had too much edginess. Starting with the Kaiser, going through Yamato's school band, Takeru going with a phase, continuing with BlackWarGreymon and so on.
Whole series was shit.
I re watched it recently so I could refresh my memory for tri
Quite literally everything was terrible. Especially the animation and story. Even for a kids show meant to sell toys it was sub par.
Nope but have R63 Beelzebumon as a consolation prize.
at least it was the final boss in digimon world
but you're right he didn't have much of a role in the anime, I watched the anime before playing the game and didn't even remember Machinedramon.
I guess. But that might just be time dilution., being able to see it all in one sitting feels different than watching it week to week, or even day to day while it was on Foxkids.
Actually it was very well executed until the CAVE OF DARKNESS where it just went full retard, then it got better when the Apocalymon nonsense ended.
Vamdemon arc dragged way too much and the final episodes are the driest budget wise of the whole show.
>A quarter of the show is the stock digivolution sequence, stock attack animations
Nah, that's Frontier, Adventure has rather short evolution sequences, Frontier pads the fuck of its runtime with it.
Since when i'm not allowed to be funny here damn it
What was wrong with the cave of darkness? It was a fast way to deal with Sora and Yamato unsolved problems and move on with the story.
I always wondered...
Where did the dark masters come from?
Were they evolved versions of digimon they had met before? Maybe I just missed the episode in which they explained it.
The Dark Masters were created by Apocalymon and existed for a long time. Gatomon got seperated from the rest of the Digidestined because Gennai was trying to escape from Piedmon.
I think they didn't show up earlier on in Adventures because they were busy fighting the Sovereigns and in the time of the Myotismon arc (remember that time passes a lot more slowly in the human world), the Dark Masters beat the Sovereigns and remodeled the Digital World. I can't remember for sure if that was when they beat the Sovereigns, but they did beat the Sovereigns at some point.
The Digidestineds honestly only stood a cahnce because both MetalSeadramon and Machinedramon were weak to Wargreymon's Dramon Killers and the Dark Masters were constantly outnumbered.
What? Piedmon completely wrecked their shit.
Machinedramon never died, it became Millenniummon. Even then, he lost due to "muh emotions" cause Agumon digivoled to WarGreymon due to Kari and due to Dramon Destroyers.
MetalSeadramon lost cause WarGreymon cause it has the Dramon destroyers.
Puppetmon wasn't a fighter but a manipulator.
Any arc that contained Kari can't be that bad.
They didn't want her to outshine the new kids, even if Tailmon lost her busty angel digivolve for some stupid Egyptian shit just to sell new toys.
Always remember that kids, nearly every plot/character decision made in your favorite nostalgic cartoon was done solely by soulless suits to sell more toys.
this digimon is your friend, he fights to evolve your partner!
He also keeps you from strangling yourself to death.
Reminder that the kids fighting each other had better animation.
I remember seeing commerical of Puppetmon throwing string at people.
I was so fucking excited, because I thought/hoped Mimi would get tied up.
It was only Matt.
Needless to say, I was disappointed.
I just love this next order promo. If anything can improve those dreamlike digital world backgrounds in adventure, it's these colors.
