Will this be P.A. Works' best work?
>Faggot revelation at the end
Dropped like a ton of bricks.
>being a homophobe
come on, it's [current year]
It's going to be basically impossible to beat this.
>pick it up
>"Oh christ, this is such a euphonium clone that it's not even funny"
>still kind of enjoying it
>that fucking reveal at the end
I'm cautiously optimistic but this shit could honestly be great if they play it right, 100% picked up.
Probably yes, they're copying 2 best Kyoani shows after all.
For me, I really grew to like the characters,
It never got dull or predicable, and it was fairly touching at times while still being funny.
It probably helps that it was a fairly interesting concept with middle aged characters. AOTY
so it's going to be one of those shows
>Anime talking about Bach
>BAHA BAHA BAHA BAHA BAHA BAHA BAHA BAHA
everytime I watch Haikyuu I wish for that too
I, too, was repulsed and physically sickened by PA Works' background CGI mutants but why do people keep saying it looks bad generally? Chaika looked good enough to be a meme girl and Chika is designed by the same artist.
>Haruta has a deeper voice than Sensei
this is so jarring, what the hell is with this casting
I think it says a lot about the show when characters that only exist long enough to frame the protagonist's motivation are more interesting than the main cast.
Also the one who looked to be the team captain was a fucking qt.
I'm not here for the memes, but I made the one where it says PANTSU on her shirt
>baby's first SOL
I mean Haikyuu is great and all but I just wish we had more actual girl sports shows.
Shirobako CG was mostly vehicles. I can't remember if background people ever weren't drawn. Uchouten Kazoku people often say looks good but it did have tons of shambling deformed CGI freaks in every busy street scene.
Her mom is banging
You got a problem with winter seasons, Anon?
flawless production and presentation (not that it was mind-blowing quality or anything, but it had no flaws)
large cast of likeable characters, most of which had an arc
drama was tense but not overly so
absolutely inspired direction (pic related, scene where director was "flying", scene where the little mascot characters were explaining what goes into designing a character)
extremely satisfying ending that leaves room for a sequel but is just fine if the loose ends are never tied up
it was just great through and through
>Chika makes him cry again by penetrating his butthole
He figured it out because Haru was the one who wrote it in the first place. So why did he go through the whole act of pretending to "solve" it? Just so he can confess to the teacher without actually confessing? What a tedious roundabout thing to do. I almost would prefer if it was just the cliche plot gimmick of bottling up his feelings (I'm looking at you Kyon in Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan)
The list of reasons to drop this show was long enough without even getting to the whole "I'm gay" reveal. Which shouldn't bother anyone because it's the 21st fucking century and only faggots are homophobes.
All the girls in this show have big tits. Over-compensating for the gay I suppose. But posture kind of does help with breathing.
>Their best show is still Angel Beats
I know this can't be true, but It's hard to think of much else they did that I'd consider better. P.A. Works really has produced a lot of shit.
Regardless, I should really get around to watching Shirobako and Charlotte.
this show actually does remind of Hyouka
in the way that the first episode made me fall asleep
Huh, this show looks promising, though the first mystery was pretty boring. Teacher seems kind of suspicious. The MCs are cute and having a gay boy is interesting. Hopefully future mysteries are better.
>Title is Haru - Chika
>Haru ain't hot for Chika nor viceversa
>Dude's gay and want's to be fucked by the teacher instead of nailing Chika
>Chika'll probably end up sucking the sax guy's cock..
I've always hated P.A. Works and I also hate music-themed series but I thought I'd give it a chance.
Way to screw it up since the beginning. I guess I'll never break my standards again.
I like the MC but I feel like they went too far with the eyes.
I like them. They remind me or Prisma Illya. You're taste is just shit.
Did you miss the futanari thread earlier this week? It's hardly a secret how much /a/ loves dicks.
Its not even that, its just about being a fucking retard. If you drop a show for the plain fact that theres a queer in it then you're just a flat out dumb cunt. Acceptance and inclusiveness doesn't even come into it.
I can actually understand the MALfags who dropped it because there's no room for romance between the MCs due to one of them being gay, but yeah, people who dropped it literally just because the kid is a fag seem a bit insecure.
Biggest disappointment of the season so far. Expected better from PA Works, but guess, they are still far from KyoAni level where they can produce consistent quality shows every time.
Glasslip looked better.
>01 @ Air.
But it aired already.
I hope it won't take too long.
Its Kadokawa deciding to score on Hyouka, and adapting another similar mystery novel. Also, according to its reviews - the novel is actually not bad.
Its just PA Works execution and direction that suck.
It's basically just an extremely solid show all-around. It didn't have anything that was record-breaking, but it managed to nail most of the things it set out to do perfectly and didn't have any major glaring faults. In essence, it's good in the same sense as FMA is.
>character design by Namaniku ATK
I'm already 100% hooked, I don't care how bad this possibly turns out but I don't think I'll drop it. Thanks for the Chaika eyes, ATK.
And it's good to be able to use this image so soon already.
So I just watched the first episode and my eyes are bleeding. What the heck is up with those shitty washed out colors and weird eyes? Also, the premise doesn't look that promising, especially considering nothing about the mystery was nicely done. The characters were acting so casual about it they didn't make me want to know who did this, the solving process was absolutely ridiculous and in the end, I didn't give a fuck about it. Give me Hyouka back.
Nigga, it's the first show about making anime, and it got a very extensive set of characters that are all realistic, different, and memorable. This is, in itself, quite record-breaking.
Okay, seriously though senpai.
What the FUCK were they thinking when they cast the VA for the teacher? I've never heard a voice so unfitting to a character in my entire life.
>There will be never a doujin where Cute Tomboy MC reverse rapes Fuckboy Childhood friend while the teacher watches
Even if it's Funi, it's never THAT washed out usually. Design and color-wise, this whole shit looks completely artificial and soulless. I hated the first episode but I'd take the designs and colors of KyoAni's shitty new show over this anyday.
Does anyone else think the eyes in this show are shit?
Also dropped because of the faggot in the end.
>Also dropped because of the faggot in the end.
>ATK will draw promotion pictures for every episode
>called "Haruta and Chika Blossom"
>they're childhood friends
>"Oh god yes, will the childhood friend finally win?!"
>think it's a non-homo Euphonium
>turns out it's actual homo-Euphonium
Please let this be a misunderstanding. Please.
Fuck no. It's ugly as hell, animation is shit and it plain boring. Mystery was horrible, music was a montage and the leads are annoying and paper thin. They made a completely bland male MC but the tweest is that he's ACTUALLY a faggot. Sasuga anime.
Oh hi there Ritsu reference.
Damn it all to hell, and here I was thinking we might actually witness the nowadays unthinkable.
Guess hoping for >>135789168 to make it different from the novels is the only hope left.
>the solving process was absolutely ridiculous and in the end
This show tried to be so many things but failed at everything. Unrelated but Hanae sounds like shit as the teacher. Like he doesn't even know what to do in this show.
I somehow doubt this will sell well. It even looks horrible.
>someone draws something on the blackboard
Why am I supposed to fucking care
>the mcs monologue every single thing about themselves
Lazy LN tier writing
>let's play music in a montage for a bit to fill the quota since this is a music anime
>throw in a shitty love triangle that will go nowhere because we have no clue what sort of series we want
Easily one of their worst
The real story of the show is, that Chika is dieing. She has genetical illness, making her suffer from higher metabolism rate and aging of immune system. Manifesting on outside as pale skin, and corrupted Irises of the eyesballs.
Until the last episode, Haru fails to figure out the biggest riddle - that she dies.
Senketsu, since they're just OCR'd funi subs anyway. Funi video looks like bitstarved garbage
I'd rather have them cut mysteries and focus on the love triangle. Anime mysteries tend to be pretty terrible, this kind of love triangle is pretty rare.
That is what I meant to say.
>I'd rather have them cut mysteries and focus on the love triangle
>Series compositor: Reiko Yoshida
If Mari Okada was here she would push her melodrama and love polygons.
Oh the dude is gay, well that is fine. At least there is no garbage yuri.
Both love the sensei
The only part i liked about the show was chaika trying the cute girl act and failing completely at it.
Fuck you, Yuri is garbage and never ever ever written well. It is borderline porn if I wanted to watch porn Ill watch porn.
Yaoi is decent and it is not the main focus of the show, I can watch this.
You seem very closed minded and definitely influenced by /a/.
There is BL out there with 10/10 writing though
Not a problem on /a/ or in the western world. Even Gintama threads which has a huge fujo following does not have any of it.
And Fujos have some justification since all men are a teeny tiny bit gay.
Only closet homosexuals and 13 year olds like lesbians, fuck off.
I'm gonna need to where this girl fits in to all this
I kinda thought Oboe here was gonna be the Reina.
Because she wears glasses.
It's Chika fault that Haruta turned gay cause when they were kids he though she is a cute boy.
Lets be honest the only good thing about it so far is the MC, Gay faggot and the story were pretty garbage.
>subbing the fire hydrant
>the twins have the power to SEE music
>it's an adaptation of a novel, not a light novel
>screenplay by Yoshida Reiko
>MC is a cute tomboy-in-denial
>her childhood friend craves the same cock as she does
Cautiously optimistic about this show.
>writers in charge of knowing anything about volleyball
NOT CUTE. REMOVE GARU.
Cute, remove yourself
Important question. Does Haruta play the French horn because he's into fisting?
Probably not, because this tiger is doing it too
Looks like episode 2 is gonna focus on Ms. Oboe
> #02 「クロスキューブ」
That was so out of left field that I had to read about it on the internet before I realized he was gay.
I thought they were talking about him being in love with trying to get to the competition or some shit.
>I was expecting a murder mystery series.
Same. I was somehow expecting something a bit darker.
Also the mystery a little more interesting, and not something so roundabout.
Still enjoyed thee first episode quite a bit, however.
Such a nostalgic feeling first episode for anyone who was in a concert band in high school. Just makes you long for those days of working your butt off to make good music while still finding the time to goof around.
I don't know what type of band you people were in but mine was hell in middle school.
Euphonium's constant melodrama and shitflinging were a lot more accurate than this where everyone's buddy-buddy.
No, he's just attracted to sensei's aura.
there's your problem. Too many people there because they're forced to be by parents and not because they like music or need the class too pass. When everybody's on the same wavelength and are working towards the same goal the atmosphere is always good, no matter the club.
>love triangle involving a boy with his male teacher and female childhood best friend
What the fuck is this? Chika better win.
>It's okay kids, I'm a polyamorous bisexual pederast.
french horn guy being gay shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone who has been in band before
I didn't really get a strong "I like him" vibe from chika towards sensei, maybe I'm just used to shows throwing it in your face by having the character say it over and over.
tiny chika is the goddamn cutest thing ever
Oh boy, I always enjoy watching one garbage show every season, and it looks like this is the jackpot. At least Chika is cute as hell.
From Chika it seems less of an attraction to the teacher and more so an attraction to what he represents, the path towards fulfilling her wish of becoming more ladylike and being treated more like a girl rather than a tomboy.
it doesn't look terrible, certainly not the worst this season
Chika is the cutest
yea I guess that makes sense. I hope they go with that and don't focus to much on the "love triangle"
If Haru were a girl all the shitposting about him being a faggot would be replaced with shitposting between those who want her to end up with sensei and those who want a yuri end.
Probably just admire him or something like that. Most highschool crushes are just that. Crushes.
Also, Haruta seems to be the wise-beyond-his-years type of character. He might know that he won't really stand a chance.
Unless it turns out that the teacher is also gay.
>force him onto the ground and rape him into submission?
Chillax autismo, Chika will straighten him out.
Or the title is completely wrong.
what if Haruta becomes a trap for the rest of the show?
My African brother
Look at that, they're literally within kissing distance
Do you think Haru prefers to give the D or receive the D?
I don't know but it appeals to me
I will keep watching this anime for now.
My search continues for good childhood friend romances. The journey is cold and lonely.
I like the show, but dropping something because you don't like to watch gay people is a perfectly fine reason. It's supposed to be entertainment and it's not like you choose what you enjoy.
You should be more tolerant of other people's tastes you bigot.
Chika a cute.
>"Well?" Haruta said. His gaze on me genuinely conveyed 'What have you come here for?'.
There were so many things I wanted to tell. I retrieved the notebook containing notes from the blackboard out of my school bag and spoke as calmly as I could.
"Sensei is very worried."
Haruta was taken aback and nodded profoundly.
"Also, everyone in class is reflecting on their actions."
Haruta turned to look at me with skeptical eyes.
To begin with, the reason why Haruta refused to go to school is this: Haruta has unrequited love for someone at our school. He took peep photos with his cellphone - no no - One of his daily routines is that he privately looks at the photos he stealthily took of that person for his own modest pleasure. Though he usually locked it firmly with a password, he forgot it one day and on top of that he lost the cellphone at school. Haruta desperately looked for it with bloodshot eyes. It was no good that the one who found it was a boy from our class. Half-interested, he sneaked a look at the photo album and saw the photos of that person he had unrequited love for. Not to mention that there were a lot of those too. I could understand that boy's confusion very well. Surely it must have felt like opening the box of Pandora. The classroom was filled with commotion, confusion and cheers. Suddenly, Haruta was surrounded by our classmates as if he were caught in the eye of a typhoon.
"I've made my decision. I'm going to quit school," Haruta muttered with a distant look in his eyes.
F A G
Let that fucking faggot have the teacher, who cares?
They are not worthy of the CUTE GARRU.
So this is is going to be a poor man's "Hibike Eumphorium!!", right?
>it seems like they're gonna drop the mystery angle in the anime
The entire fucking novel plot is mystery, they can't just drop it. It'd be like animating Haruhi and dropping the Haruhi is god plot.
Is the whole season going to be anime original? Next episode doesn't look like it's about poison either and that's the first story in the novels according to the translations.
This episode (outside of anime original twins) was based on Chika's comments about how she reunited with Haruta in the first story of the first book. It's possible they'll animate the mystery + Haruta nearly being outed to his class later.
>Hey guys! We totally remade Euphonium
>Only this time, we made one of the characters ACTUALLY gay
>It's also the one who likes the sensei
>Aren't we sooooooo PROGRESSIVE?
What went on at the writers' meeting when they planned out anime original content?
>Let's toss around character ideas. What will fit in best in a low-key mystery show with sol and romance overtones?
>How bout some big titted twins?
