>[HorribleSubs] Musaigen no Phantom World - 01 [720p].mkv
Get in here.
>people mad over Kyoani holding back on the bounce and jiggle in Amaburi
>now they've added more bounce and jiggle in a single episode than there has been in the past year or two
>there won't be any new doujins before C90
>live on uni campus
>they are unfairly good at catching torrenting
>have to stream
Dammit man it's even more blatant than i expected.
It's way more lewd than Amaburi
Posting best girl
NOVEL 2 SUMMARY
In the last battle, Haruhiko's plan for the extermination of the artificial human "Phantoms" succeeds. However, the plan has unforeseen consequences due to Haruhiko ignoring the true nature of humanity and the Phantoms. As a result, two thirds of the world's population is exterminated and a new brand of ferocious Phantoms takes over Earth, forcing the remnants of mankind to hide underground, living in anxiety and fear.
As all his friends and everyone he knew were part of the casualties, Haruhiko blames himself and falls into deep depression. At that moment, he meets a cheerful Lailah, a girl with the power of immortality. Haruhiko slowly begins regaining his love for life thanks to Lailah's quriky actions.
However, when the alarm of an invasion begins sounding in the underground city. Haruhiko begins participating in humanity's battle against the new Phantoms. Haruhiko is quickly overwhelmed and falls to the floor injured.
Right as he is about to die, a voice resounds in his heart. The mysterious Kashima Touko appears before him and asks him "Are you willing to sell your soul to the devil to exterminate the Phantoms." From his heart filled with regret and vengeance, a new power appears...
Eros and Thanatos - these are the two opposite poles that drive the story of the second act in this dramatic fantasy series!
Why don't they call the police?
Reaction image material
In the novels, it's intentionally funny and generic because there is an "ebin twist" that makes the story go full edge on the second novel. All the haremettes get "killed off".
KyoAni finds a way
KyoAni made a shit anime intentionally.
They want to save all their yen for their ineveitable magnum opus: Violent Ever Garden.
V.E.G. will dethrone Hyouko as KyoAni best anime.
dibs, i claim her as my imouto
Does this saya-like side hair have a name?
I love it.
Why does red mean fire?
Rust is red too.
So is earth, in certain parts of the world.
Actually really hot fire is blue to white.
>Trying this hard when there are pictures of LN 2 here.
KyoAni is as known for their comedies as for their SoLs, faggot. Just because "hurr they only do CGDCT" became a meme doesn't mean comedy isn't one of the things they do best.
>Generic fanservice crap
>Generic plot twist
>Meeting generic quirky girl after made a mistake
>Generic sell your soul to the demon for power contract
And they said Kyoani finds a way.
Oh great its gonna another Rokka no Yuusha "Go read the light novels" ending
Not even a chance for that to happen. Hanada isn't writing and Ishihara isn't the TWEEST type of guy. This is Chu2Koi level of fun already and in no way they will ruin it by going full edgelord like the hack writer did.
>all this about best girl Mai and co. never existing in the first place
>mfw already knew since anime isn't real in the first place but ok
it hurts even more when they're not even real in the fucking story, fucking shit
>People spoiling any hint of surprise by reading LN spoilers and summaries.
I just don't get it.
Do people really need to be told exactly what is going to happen in order for them to enjoy something?
It's the worst but I'm not even 100% sure that's what this show is going for or they'd have had the cast stand around and discuss at length what the cliche is and why it was subverted in order to fill as much time as possible like a dumb "wittah" LN. Show looks played pretty straight so far.
But water is stored in the bladder
Already stocking up on them Reina screencaps.
Izumi Reina is perfection.
this scene was as hilarious as I thought it was going to be
>it's okay when KyoAni does it
I'll wait for their next show.
Everyone keeps saying this is a harem, so is it Mai's harem? Since everyone keeps fawning over her and nobody gives a shit about the MC.
So this is going to end like the Flag anime with the protagonist fighting angels in the real world to protect the fake world?
Oh yeah. They aren't pandering at all.
Hate to admit it but I really enjoyed this first episode. I didn't think I would. Pretty fun and I liked the fast pacing of it. Not a dull moment. Only thing I would complain about is a little too much info dumps. They could have maybe spread that out a bit into the second episode.
Looking through amazon.jp
The spoilers posted earlier seem to be real
>"They experience the ups and downs of high school life before a certain incident leads them to the truth of this world."
>truth of this world
Was about to say that.
This type of exposition in particular is the absolute worst.
MAI PLEASES OLD MEN FOR MONEY
The coloring and saturation is so bad, it feels like I am watching an anus bleeding.
Does this look ok?
That bit at the beginning with all the optical illusions will guarantee that we will come across some matrix-esque plot-twists further down the line.
Not him, but based anon, thanks!
>tfw the loli girl will not be getting any fanservice
Yeah, I know KyoAni, she will just be there and be cute because you think lolicons are sick, fuck you too.
>" I have shitty reflexes."
>Realizes girl is falling and has enough time to jump after her, notice the position they are going to fall in and quickly correct it
What is it going to be, faggot?
No, faggot. You are.
Luck Star is the Seinfield of anime: nothing fucking happens and it is not funny.
Nichijou is the Three Stooges of anime: Anything fucking happens and it is funny.
Anon, you know that's fake right? Face it, none of this is real, you can even see the hints in the first episode that things are not what they are suppose to be, their all dead and this is what the MC wished he still had. Phantom World in the title is a double meaning.
How does it work?
I have no decent explanation for what happened.
The anime went from harem comedy to assassination plot to harem comedy.
Then the blond girl and another character turns out to be the same person and actually the MCs sister who reveals that the world they are in is the Matrix.
MC leaves the Matrix and fights against Angels in the real world who try to destroy the Matrix.
He wins, returns and gets together with the girl with red ribbons.
Literally the perfect girl.
When do we get more loli Mai?
Thanks for the update. When's the next one?
>This type of exposition in particular is the absolute worst.
It probably worked fine in a novel. I guess it would have been better as a separate narration, rather than an in-story talk between two people.
>She complains about him sighing.
Oh she's one of these bitches, Oh no.
Have this one too
>"Mai-senpai" sounds like "my senpai'
So basically its all a collective halucination?
I think when he was fight the angels or whatever, he was still in the Matrix. It wasn't until after they won that he left, and everyone he knew from inside was out there, but they had no memories of each other, or something. It was also incredibly rushed, to the point that they flat out skipped I think a volume and a half at some point.
Fun show though.
Where were you when DFC lost its meaning?
BD's can't come soon enough to have this textless.
Mai's face is making me extremely hard right now.
I'm not really sure. Probably. What I found odd was the part where Haruhiko was getting up and his entire room was like digital or something. They didn't really explain that part.
>How does it work?
Your brain, when seeing two colours next to each other, would make the dark side darker and the light side lighter, it increase the contrast. making it easier to see camouflaged predators.
Essentially your brain sacrifices accuracy for enhancing detail. Because the wild human would rather not get eaten by the lion hiding in the grass.
>The story takes place in the near future, in a world born of human imagination. What humans would call ghosts or monsters appear, and they come to be called "phantoms." The main character, Haruhiko Ichijo, is a first year at Hosea Academy along with his upperclassman Mai Kawakami, who fights phantoms with the ability "Spirit of Five Elements," Izumi Reina, who has the ability "Phantom Eater," and Koito Minase, who fights phantoms in solitude. They experience the ups and downs of high school life before a certain incident leads them to the truth of this world.
Could this sound any more shit?
This doesn't make any sense. Why are there so few guys in their group?
I mean, bitch's powers involves her groping herself, who would pass on an opportunity to watch that all the fucking day?
Is everyone here but MC gay?
>Turns a cliched moment into something hilarious.
This is why Kyoani is on top ladies and gentleman.
Can't remember if this was my trip or not but anyway
The spoilers people are spamming are all fake. The summary for volume 2 is misleading and one part of it wasn't translated right but it is the case that volume 2 is kind of edgy. Nobody dies but it does get quite gruesome at some points. The plot twist for the show has nothing to do with computers but there is a twist which leads into the ending for the first volume. The anime won't adapt the second volume, it'll end on the first, like Hibike. The girl with the silver hair is Touko, she's the villain of the 2nd volume and won't show up in the anime outside maybe a hint to the next season.
As for LN to anime changes, the anime has more physical fanservice as opposed to the LN in which Haruhiko just describes the shape of Mai's breasts and ass quite often. The point of Ruru is that Haruhiko narrates a lot so Ruru is something he can talk to or someone who can say what is on Haruhiko's mind without them just skipping what he is thinking all together. Reina falling onto Haruhiko when they first meet is original but Reina throwing Haruhiko for being a pervert happens often. The limbo scene is also anime original but the actual fight with telephone poles happened in the LN. In the LN Mai just snaps the crap out of the poles right away instead of doing the limbo.
Next episode will introduce Koito to the team earlier than in the LN, only about one episode earlier though which is a good thing. Then there's this really lewd fight where
the girls will fight in their bath towelsnext. In the LN, only Mai and Reina are in this fight, but due to adding Koito earlier, I'm not sure if Koito is going to be in this scene.
Kind of busy so I won't be able to post often like this but screenshot this top part so people stop spamming fake spoilers. Not going to spoil any of the plot this time around because you can already see how bad it gets when people spam this stuff.
Ugh. The entire episode was nothing but tit fan service. I don't really mind fan service, but i prefer the subtle approach over this blatant in your face shit.
Tbh it felt like watching your typical Battle Harem you see every season. Disappointed
>>Turns a cliched moment into something cliched
As I understand it, it was during the idol episode, when the Matrix stuff actually started happening. Instead of it happening during the concert, it was supposed to happen at the end of the volume after. That's why idol and Sensei felt so out of place during the last couple of episodes. But again, I haven't read the LNs for myself, so I could be wrong.
I want Mayonnaise-sama to feed me her superpower inducing milk
Yeah well judging by the usual standard it's going to pick up in about a month big time. Kyoani fans are super loyal but for whatever reason they don't tend to always plunk down super early for stuff. It's going to sell 6-7K probably, maybe more if it picks up some harem fans.
>Haruhiko just describes the shape of Mai's breasts and ass quite often.
>like rest of the industry.
If they have subsidiary studio, they should do what IG did by whore-ing its subsidiary studio with lewd anime (Xebec).
So the parent studio's brand still came out clean, even though they made profit from ecchi anime.
This season is truly terrible.
So much that this still might be the best show of this season.
Not that anon but I own the LN too. There are 9 Troubles (chapters), and the first episode went through 3/4ths of the first one.
So it's safe to say only the first LN will get animated, when anime-original scenes get factored in.
What a terrible OP.
The fighting didn't really make much sense. What purpose does Haruhiko serve in combat? He traps the phantom in a notebook but then Mai had to finish it off. Can Mai not seal things normally unless someone else traps it? Apparently putting it in the notebook doesn't seal it. But then Reina comes along and instantly defeats AND seals phantoms at the time in the graveyard. However with the poles she had to wait until they appeased to eat them? Could someone way out the rules for me here?
this is Mai's power, she rubs her organs and gets that chi. She does Chinese Kenpo which she learned from her dad went to China to learn martial arts for some reason. Also Mai is a quarter white, her dad is half Japanese(?)
Kidneys = Water
Lungs = Metal
Heart = Fire
Damn you, anon.I had a shitload of fake spoilers and convincing fake pictures for this thread and future treads and you fucking RUINED EVERYTHING!!!!!fFUCKYYYYYYYYOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
Fine, have your fucking shitty battle harem, I don't give a shit, I hope it flops and doesn't get any porn and the music all sucks you fucking pieces of shit.
Watching this after Haruchika feels like jumping to a new generation of animation.
Hayamin's voice is so perfect
>outside maybe a hint to the next season.
Like with Satone in Chu2? How KyoAni fucked up her introduction and offered not a hint in the first season of her presence and it look like she was thrown in to steal MC from Rikka? Fuck OFF.
KyoAni quickscope montage when?
Fellow LN anon here. Yes, the anime is more fanservicey than the LN, but isn't that just the result of the visual nature of anime?
Not just her boobs and ass, but Hirohiko couldn't stop himself from describing what ever Mai was wearing neither.
You mean great?
Enjoy your rehashed battle harem.
>It's okay when KyoAni does it.
Edgy, and Arisu-sensei says she's a
The flag one was great! Not only did it get an ending (unlike most battle harems), but it got the most hilarious ending possible.
Whether Hibike is good or not depends on the sales of this show, so please pay money to them /a/nons
>>It's okay when KyoAni does it.
It's okay when anyone does it. As much as they're apparently loathed, all battle harem still get huge followings and are worshiped (especially after the first episode) as long as they provide the goods. Don't you remember how popular IS was during its first season?
oh one last thing which I thought was kind of weird. This thing isn't a Manticore, it's called Marchosias
It's weird cause they got the description right but they used a different name. Maybe it's because nobody knows what a Marchosias is and to be honest, I thought the katakana said some weird Japanese version of Manticore at first when I read it. So just if anyone is going to say "that isn't a manticore!"
>haremshit with great animation
>great character design
>don't trying to be serious like most lame chuuni LN
>chuuni as chuuni
That soundtrack. The piece in the first scene where MC was getting ready is fucking 10/10
Oh God I want her to eat me
