;_; well im the only one anon who want a 3rd season?
>mfw there are people on /a/ that didn't watch space dandy just because it was simulcasted on CN
>you will never have a date with Scarlet
Feels undandy, man.
Show was fun as hell.
I miss watching it with both /a/ and /co/.
That show is a big mix of forgettable episodes and a bunch of A+ stuff that made it worthwhile like pic related
I wouldn't say I loved Dandy or anything but I miss him too honestly. Like >>135741579 said there was some shit but also a lot of good stuff. The zombie episode and multiverse episode were great.
He made me want to get a varsity jacket
But I knew I could never pull it off.
Even with it's disjointed storytelling, they nailed the finale. It was so great it made even the most unimpressive episodes good.
This was how you end a series, other studios should take notes.
>Shitposting ignored or told to fuck off most of the time
>Some lewd images
>Some shit generals
>Some waifu faggotry
>Doesn't even talk about video games
>Threads have to start with dank memes or buzzwords
>Threads derail after 2 posts into console war shittery
>While everyone else posts their dank memes and leaves
>Off topic posting like meme frog and feel shit
>Tons of shit generals even though /vg/ exists
>Wanking off to nobodies on twitter and youtube
>LOL threads that are offtopic
>if you like anything remotely Japanaese related you're a weeb and needs to fuck off.
That was 2012 the last time I was there, god only knows how bad it is now.
>The cultures of /a/ and /v/ are virtually identical.
Keep on dreaming pal, now if you said /g/ or even /k/ then you may have had some ground. Their autism is similar to ours.
>Shitposting ignored or told to fuck off most of the time
That other anon is retarded but you don't seem to know /a/ well either
You're blind. There are no more than 2-3 threads with actual discussion on /a/ at any given time. Both boards are filled with 19-year-old social outcasts who take their entertainment consumption way too seriously.
Wish we had more, but it feels like it would get ruined if it continued.
>tfw no more episodes of Dandy going on wacky adventures that are animated beautifully each episode with something fun and interesting each episode
Space dandy had some misses and some hits but it was a fun ride all the way through and it's the type of show that could have went on forever. I miss it ;__;
If you weren't here for this, enjoy!
Fuck youtube copywrite. I need to go watch that episode over again now.
Ramen shop owner's VA's literal last role before he died. They knew he was dying, so they gave him a send-off.
OST 2 Preview:
Wish they'd made a follow up to her.
Sorry, the universe you're trying to reach is no longer available.
That episode left me with mixed feelings
Would you rather he died for good and stayed on limbo in that universe?
Or is it that he actually died and was just bumped into one where he didn't.
Maybe a Dandy stayed there with her, "living" the Limbo forever.
Hey, the other day I got to discuss special relativity and orbital mechanics in a Hokagu no Pleiades thread, so it's not always so bad.
Did moot have the 18 requirement when he as 15?
I think the age thing is legally required in the US. Not that the government ever does much to *enforce* it, and of course the only way to get banned for it is if you're stupid enough to open up your mouth about your age.
The Dub is one of the few that is Equal if not Superior to the the original.
Enjoy seeing it for the first time.
I wonder if the second part of that song will be released...
This episode taught me to HATE TRAINS
Plus I think the musical sections like >>135746744 are better enjoyed if you understand the lyrics as their sung instead of reading the subtitles that just translate and not follow the rhythm.
Didn't anyone else something similar to this when Dr. Gel got shot?
I don't have the song on it's own anymore, but you can find it here >>135744577
Izumi Pillow - Want to know
Seriously, I was hoping Dandy and her would reunite and then she can become a part of the crew hunting other Aliens and in general causing mischief with Dandy.
>mfw people think Sinclair is the reason to watch the dub
>not the narrator
The imagination for some of the Dandy episodes were fucking amazing, I hope we get more.
The main resolution is, that he's every kind of man.
Ass, Legs, Boobs or even face, there's a Dandy for each of them.
Some of them were a little out there for me, but they were all creative for sure.
I mean for a mostly episodic show it was really well done, given how many episodes I wanted 1 or more follow up episodes to expand on whatever adventure had just ended and what Dandy would do and who he'd meet.
It was a very hit or miss show. But I was more than happy to sit through the misses for the sake of the hits. Off the top of my head I think my favorites episodes were;
>Date with Scarlet
I feel like Daft Punk would like Dandy. Dandy should have met them on one f his adventures in space.
I want this to be the big project bones is working on for 2017, but everyone thinks its chinese electric batman. not giving up hope.
anyone else really like the fishing episode? love the animation style of the waves in this one, and how varied it was from episode to episode - never knew what to expect each weel
how do you all feel about 4th dimensional ex girlfriend? another one I liked but never hear mentioned
pretty sure I had the same reaction when I first saw it. but watching it again recently it was a very nice, comfy episode, knowing what was coming. felt like mushi-shi almost
The way that Warp travel works in Space Dandy. The Dandy and Scarlet that got together so well on the date. They will never meet again. Leaving us other Dandys and Scarlets. That are slightly different.
Was there a marathon recently or something?
Wouldn't want to miss that for the world
This was one of these animes where I think I'm watching pointless shounen shit like OPM
but then it turns out to be philosophical and thought-provoking and I end up losing my shit.
I hate it when that happens
>only started watching dandy recently
>six eps in and enjoying ride
>dub is actually pretty nice
Why did I miss out greatness?
The show is very normalfag-friendly, so /a/ tends to have a knee-jerk reaction to hate it.
Didn't help that it was simul-cast in America on Adult Swim, which made it popular with the /co/ crowd and /a/ has always turned on any anime that /co/mblr likes.
yes and what a compelling argument you made there
Perhaps I'll just bitch and moan about inter-board drama so I can fit in better
All I did was watch it with /co/ because Toonami isn't /a/ related according to mods.
Boy am I glad they made that decision too because it would've been awful with how often /a/ hates fun.
>it was all a dream ending
fuck that mate
it was mediocre at best, some 10/10 episodes, some 1/10 ones that werent much more than incoherent mess
anybody remember when Dandy become a planet wide genociding mass murderer? oh boy, fun times
the ending made me so pissed off i rather not watch anymore of it, nothing pisses me off as much as retconing everything that happened in last episode, hell, they never even meet the cat
You twats for real?
"It was all a dream" is a infamous universally hated writing trope, sure Dandy didnt pull it off, but the end result was the same in which the ending makes all the charter development and everything trey did pointless so it might as well done it.
How did you not get that?
IDK about y'all, but I dropped it about 7 episodes in while it was airing. I expected it to be similar to Cowboy Bebop in that it would have an story that connected all the episodes together and was disappointed. But then I restarted the series after it had aired and realized that not only is it meant to be episodic, but the emphasis was not on the story but on the visuals and the music. It's a comfy series, in my opinion.
I remember watching it fresh in the morning while packing for a trip
It was such a comfy feel and the OST´s made it better, but i think there was some of those that wasn´t released which it´s sad.
>everybody is saying to watch the dub
Did we not watch the same anime? I tried watching the first episode and stopped as soon as I heard QT's auto tuned shit voice. How the fuck could you put up with that for 12 episodes? Also, Dandy's jap VA fits just as well, actually better, than his English VA.
This is without a doubt my favourite episode, loved it from the moment I watched it.
>Got the special edition physical release with the trucker hat, necklace and belt buckle
>Belt buckle is great and subtle enough for me to actually use it
>Feel a little bit dandier every day I wear it
I loved the rock 'n roll episode, had me in stitches. Probably my favorite episode of the whole series, I haven't laughed that hard out loud to myself over anime in a long time.
I´m still mad that Scarlet didn´t win
Even if in another universe she got the dandy, it´s still not the same
She deserve it, We deserve to see her happy that night
Space Dandy is filled with hidden gems.
Honestly it might be my favorite Watanabe work or maybe tied with Champloo.
The last five minutes in that episode were amazing.
>anon on /a/
>someone says they like a non moe or non SoL anime outside of JoJo or Eva
>tell them they belong in /v
"that'll really show him"
How did this show consistently pump out the best bitches?
The relaxing, yet sad mood of some of these episodes weirds me the fuck out.
This show having thrown out so many curve balls got me more often than not
Are you really this thick? The very first episode has the main cast dying at the end, with the second episode going on as if the previous episode didn't happen. And it takes you the final episode to bitch about that stuff? The timelines and resetting Dandies where there from the start, did you miss that being a theme or something?
That episode made me tear up like a little girl at the end
If you don't like it, you don't like it. But it's stupid as hell to bitch about that aspect of the ending when the same thing happened consistently since the first episode.
I watched it with /co/ and they managed to understand that.
They reset the universe with the power of dance.
I don't know how the hell I missed this episode, but I'm glad I did, and I'm glad I came in this thread.
A year later a brand new Space Dandy episode. It was such a good one too.
That felt amazing.
It still weirds me out that that's Ashly Burch doing the dub voice, including the singing. for Freckles.
I hated that episode at first and thought it was boring, but after rewatching it a few times I love it, even if I don't understand the full meaning behind it because I'm pretty dumb, it's still a beautiful and imaginative episode, I love the backgrounds and the scene where Dandy realizes that happines can't exist in a world without sadness.
Easily Scarlet, Honey was nice, but Scarlet I always rooted for.
Like Ian Sinclair(Dandy's VA), Stan Lee got me into feisty redheads at a young age, so Scarlet.
Space Dandy is what I use to introduce people to anime now. Dub isn't terrible
auto-tuned QT is fucking goldand it's just so visually striking. I really need to re-watch it again sometime.
Iove to see this one day.
Space dandy was a fun ride, can't really think of any episode I didn't enjoy. There were a few kinda odd episodes but I can't think of one I went "oh not this one" to.
fun fact QT was named QT because it was the first portable calculator made in japan; it would only spit out paper so that's why QT in the show did as well
You're still here?
Let me reward you for having mucho patience and good taste:
This show was so fucking sick. Probably the best original show to come out of the decade so far, and it'll be tough to top. I'd love to see future projects like this, the amount of creativity and talent poured into it was nuts.
It was hard for me to appreciate the show at first because every episode is so different from the last. Now I know that's exactly what makes it good. The side characters, setting, story, directing are never repetitive. It's like one of those compilation movies, like Neo Tokyo, Robot Carnival, Memories etc. except 10 hours long.
it was fun, and that's what's been lacking in alot of anime coming out in the recent years.
When it aired all I could remember glimpsing from the threads on /a/ was a sense of pessimism. This thread was overtly positive which shows that it takes time for good shows to show lasting impact of "good anime".
So much good music to explore
Post your favourite track(s).
(Sorry, youtube removed most of OST2)
I just want her to be happy.
I want to believe.
Something About Vacuum Cleaners and Coffee Makers...
best song right here
>Dat Queen Bee
Dub of Queen Bee:
>That Super Sentai feel
>It's over before you know it
WHY IS IT SO SHORT??
Sorry for the distorted version, youtube a shit.
You mean rips? Or to buy?
It also helps that the English VA for Dandy knew how to sing for Lonely nights.
Something the Japanese VA did not, god that song is awful in Japanese
B... but anon you just reminded me that BOB is in that world with dandy... he knows that you need shadows to aprreciate the light
Man I'm sad
>Ramen shop owner's VA's literal last role before he died. They knew he was dying, so they gave him a send-off.
I watched both and still think the sub is better. In general the side characters in the sub are better than the dub. Just check out that english queen bee video. She's supposed to resemble a damn singer (jpop in japanese case) like in high school musical or something similar, but the singing is so bad in the english version. Sounds like some nerd trying her best to sing.
QT sucks in english too. The auto tune was unnecessary.
Sinclar and Meow alone can't carry the side characters. I think most dub proponents generally only consider the main cast when talking about the dub strength, when side characters are almost as important.
Guy who played dandy is a bro tier VA too. He did a Q&A at a con and borrowed a fan's Dandy jacket for the whole session
he also had no clue people would find dandy sexy and spills spaghetti when a girl hits on him
Space Dandy with /co/ was fun.
Time to get the hell out of there when Bleach starts playing though, because they just continue watching for some reason.
It got shitted on by a few because it was too "western" and made for normies supposedly. Somehow the quality of a show is determined by how Japanese it is, even though it's a Japanese show.
Yeah, I don't get it either.
No, 2014 had plenty of good stuff and dandy has too many mediocre episodes to be called AOTY
If this thread is anything to go by anyone who thinks it was AOTY has shit taste as evidenced by favor of the ENG dub over the superior JP dub with literally the perfect dandy.
I watched it while airing and I am so glad I did.
Every week was exciting as fuck since each episode was completely different in style, writing and concept.
I liked Dandy's JP voice since it's more "macho" (if I'm using the right word). English sounds too bumbling and it's funnier if someone is acting like an idiot while putting on airs, which I feel that dub Dandy lacks.
