i'll post more if i find more
>He's not some mere professional artist, he's a legit professional artist
Not a double-spread, but still felt it was worth contributing. It's almost a shame the race wasn't run in reverse, because a shot of the Rockies as they go across Western Kansas would look great.
Dude Murata is incredible, say what you will about OPM but the art is top fucking tier
Inoue is a master
Some of the colour pages are incredibly beautiful
The Koun vs Kojiro fight has some lovely watercolour pages
I think it's the implication that manga artists aren't trained specifically to produce artwork, or it's a snobbish perception that only someone who is recognised as an artist can produce something worthy of being art.
It's wrong on both accounts though. The Louvre has manga in now (or at least it did at one point).
It took Araki almost 2 decades to learn how to properly draw but it paid off for him in the end. SBR is a masterpiece.
The artwork in Akira is so fucking detailed. Every single panel has got so much stuff happening in it,
I don't even feel awe or nostalgia any more when i see these spreads, just the crushing disappointment of yet another hiatus. Fucking Miura
I love going back and re-reading The Feast for this reason. Every monster looks so fucking twisted and demonic, and the wall of faces still gives me chills. I gotta wonder what goes on inside his head that gives him the vision for shit like this
This manga is full of beautiful images, the artstyle is mesmerising.
I am obligated to say the eclipse, but I love that scene with Jill even more than the eclipse. The amount of character development jammed into those couple of pages are astounding
That looks so fucking hideous, have some fucking respect and don't go around saving that piece of shit quality.
>there's no paradise for you to escape to
Gave me chills. I can't understand people who say Berserk goes to shit after Golden Age since Lost Children is so fucking fantastic.
There is a difference between fine arts and illustration. You can excel at one and be completely shit at the other, as they each require different skills.
Now manga artists tend to skirt the line a bit closer, especially the famous ones. I would also hazard a guess that a lot of them have at least some if not a large amount of experience in the fine arts.
>I gotta wonder what goes on inside his head
He probably uses fellow Idolm@aster otaku as a reference.
The best Berserk image without a doubt is when Griffith finds the Bejelit in the river again after falling out of the carriage and he raises it with the setting sun in the background.
I'm sorry, I don't have the manga.
I don't care if this is overposted like crazy on /a/ right now nor the fact that it's a shounen. This panel was pretty well detailed if not visually impressive.
Yeah, that's exactly what I am afraid of.
MHA gets a bigger audience and he gets asked to tone some things down, or he gets bogged down by increased production stress and just stops doing these panels.
Being fucking idiots who get triggered.
It means he doesn't just fucking draw manga, he's the kind spending days or weeks in front of a canvas. He's going Bob Ross instead of just drawing comics.
>There is a pile of shit on the floor i might as well bring it on the table and eat it whole heartedly like the retard that i am
Pic related, it is you
Not necessarily consistent good art, but when it's good, it's really fucking good
You posted the wrong page or what?
Not him, but to be fair, Ishida's art has drastically improved since he first started. I think his real strengths lie in framing and perspective, tbqph. His use of color in his color illustrations is very nice, too
Love this guy bitches, even though he's inconstant.
>90% of the page is tracing / photoshop
>The part that isnt looks like shit
Why is Tokyo Ghoul fags so retarded?
Damn, I don't know why but I love 7 Seeds jungle drawings.
They don't know any better, they've probably read that, the Naruto gaiden and OPM.
People might disagree but I really love 7 seeds' art.
I hope you're joking.
Yeah and? They get called out.
The fact that it looks good doesn't mean it's a "beautiful artwork".
What is it, a comedy? A drama? A sol?
>Yeah and? They get called out.
See a lot of stuff here you can call out for the same shit that has not a single reply to call it out.
>I hope you're joking.
Oh wow, that's cute.
Oh shit, totally missed it.
It's all three. Starts off more SOL, then goes to more drama-action near the end. Really comfy.
Though 7 seeds is made a 10/10 by the strength of the characters
Thread is called "visually beautiful artworks", not "what you enjoy". I've already posted a couple and agree on some other posted.
TG is garbage.
I'll definitely read it sometime, I have it already downloaded.
Go read more manga, plebs.
Here's another one and a recommendation for you retards, Alita.
>TG is garbage.
I don't care about your opinion.
Which, might I add, you don't even bother to substantiate with any facts or reasons. All you're doing is making an assertion and expecting people to nod their heads.
Which is pretty silly. Let's be honest.
I aint got anymore keyman, and these panels dont show the comic book inspired portion of the art, but whatevs
Pff, yeah, sure. Maybe Last Order, definitely not Alita.
You can't post traced shit from a drawn media and call it an artwork. Not even talking about good artworks.
It's fine to enjoy shit but don't try to sell it to others for what it's not.
Not really. I would get it if the standard was huge spreads with lots of details, beautiful aspects and damn near like a black and white painting. Those manga exist and that art is indubitably great.
But that standard isn't the one being applied in this thread, going by the majority of the artwork in this thread. The standard is "It looks good."/"Nicely detailed.", and Tokyo Ghoul fits in there more than some of the others here do.
It's sad that, as much as I hate Tumblr, I've come to be annoyed by how much of a buzzword this has become.
For your knowledge, Tumblr "art" consists of deliberately ugly traits, exaggerated features and Rudolph noses.
>It's fine to enjoy shit but don't try to sell it to others for what it's not.
I'm not enjoying shit, I've just come to accept that you have garbage taste. And I'm not gonna attack you for it, but I am gonna call you out on both your shit taste and your inability to actually make a claim and substantiate it. This is babby highschool-tier level of arguing, newfriend.
Also, the stuff you've shown so far is pretty meh. Not horrible, not bad at all. It's nice, but definitely not anything special either.
That is Tokyo Ghoul's "decent"?
Not really sure, but it looks like paint tracing, or whatever the shit its name is. You know, like you take a pic then use photoshop to alter it abit, makes it look like a painting
>This is cover art
And? It's a part of the manga. It's probably more well known for the good cover art than any of his other art.
>Just skewered by Mangastream's shit scanlation.
So you post a page that isn't.
What? My sister did it all the time on some shitty forum for quick cash. She will turn your photo into a shitty looking painting by using photoshop
I just dont remember its name
Wait - how old are you again? I don't think you should be here if you're underage.
Just because someone doesn't know the proper term for it doesn't mean they're stupid or wrong. And yes, the vast vast majority of manga that use computer-generated art are bad.
26,27. And before you pull that newfag card i pretty sure i have been on this board longer than most people here. Just because i have a sister means that i am underage?
I am not saying that it looks good to be a photo, i am saying that it looks like a shitty photoshop, ugh
Look at the past few replies by him.
>this is obviously traced
>that is traced
>hurr durr this cover is traced too
It's quite obvious that he's just being a cheeky cunt for the sake of it, because I don't believe he's actually that stupid.
No. You are underage because you seem to have either a typing or cognitive impairment and I prefer to believe it's because you're a kid.
Sadly, no such luck.
>>I am not saying that it looks good to be a photo, i am saying that it looks like a shitty photoshop, ugh
Make up your mind.
>But that standard isn't the one being applied in this thread
I wonder whose fault is it.
I'm not arguing you stupid fuck.
>complains about getting called out for posting TG
>calls Alita and Majo meh
If you were intelligent you'd stop posting.
Tokyou Ghoul fags are stupid.
Are you stupid?
Artists have a deadline for chapters, it's not the same.
Why are you arguing with b8?
Back onto thread topic: pic related
Also, the entirety of the fight with Arima and the aftermath. The use of the flowers, checkerboards, numbers and other symbols. I liked the little touches like the ground becoming full of holes in Kaneki's perception once he got skewered through the eye.
Ishida uses filtered photos from time to time, they're obvious as fuck.
That's clearly not traced in any way.
The problem with his art is that he doesn't understand anatomy.
The muscles all have the wrong shape, everything is too tube-like and round.
Aside from that I actually like the art.
God horikoshi is such a fucking god at character design and shading and especially fucking hands. It looks incredible.
I cant wait for a few more years to pass until he's considered one of the greats. Someone along the lines of Miura or Murata.
Still waiting for when Oh Great! decide to team up with a writer that's not equally crazy like him.
>Deliquent fighting for terriority
>All fun and shit
>Suddenly giant gundam shooting lazer and tower of Babylon
I dont even. What the fuck is with Oh great? I couldnt even make head or tail out of Tenjou tenge
Here is hoping now that Air Gear is coming back it will be better
Good, go be having shit taste somewhere else
Your kind isnt welcome here
It's a trap.
I don't know, I don't care, the point is that in 2 months they can take time off to do the cover.
I don't have any digital Samura.
And? We're talking about artwork here.
Fuck off, idiot.
If you think Samura's art is bad you're the one who's not welcome here.
Why are the people in this thread such plebeians? Who the fuck in his right mind that has read more than 10 manga would post a Tokyo Ghoul page in this kind of thread? And then proceeds to defend his choice when he's called out?
Samura's art is god-tier, you shiteater.
All art except for in the few first posts has been kind of mediocre, but if you're trying to make a point about good art, then don't post shit-tier art yourself.
Because that's just hilarious.
Yeah, Taniguchi is so bad, amirite.
I mean, look at the page I posted, it's not like it's one of the most beautifully composed manga pages ever created.
Fucking kill yourself, you're the nigger of manga.
>the point is that in 2 months they can take time off to do the cover.
And any time they take off will impact on the quality of the chapters.
I take it that with this view you also disqualify volume pages, which is likely more than half this thread, right?
Why are you still arguing with someone who has shown multiple times in the span of a few posts that they are absolutely pants-on-head retarded?
Are you a masochist, or are you trying to fuel him?
>calling someone that can draw this bad
I don't give a fuck if you like it or not, you're saying it's bad, that makes you a nigger.
Here's the other nigger.
Would you please take your shit taste and your shit manga and vacate the thread?
And I would request that you refrain from entering it from now on as well - at least until you get actual taste.
God I love berserk.
There are some beautifully drawn panels itt, but I feel like only few capture the atmosphere that well.
It isn't a spread and has text all the fuck over it, but something about this is what drew me into reading the series in the first place.
Anderson has one of my favorite designs in all of manga, and that manga has such a fitting style to the art. I mean, they tried to replicate the visual effects in the OVAs.
Nah, thanks, I already have my echo-chamber and circlejerking needs right here on /a/.
While the art is pretty mixed, this page is bretty good
Miura is seriously [nuts] with the art. It's no wonder the series is irregular.
>working on idolm@ster games and anime
the anime is only an excuse for these coming 6 months, nothing else
dunno what the fuck you're on about with the idolmaster bit, I think you confused the roles of the people
I'm 99% sure that's not what happened. As I recall, he hired the director of something Im@s-related to work on directing the last Berserk movie that was released. One of the "Berserk general" regulars has a copypasta about an interview in which Miura talks about it over the phone.
No, it's just really shitty scans.
Pic you replied to is 3 pages to the left. TG english fans really get fucked over by completely incompetent scanlators.
I'm not saying any of TG's single page spreads or anything deserve to be in this thread, but the art is A LOT better than the english scans would suggest.
His page layouts are beautiful and his art outstanding. So much raw energy.
That's a given but is there any more info on that?
He made Kaneki into Haise, his new quinque.
Not related to the thread but I'm surprised no one's noticed Haise isn't Haise anymore, Haise couldn't take down a S rated ghoul so there's no chance he could take Eto out. Arima should be suspicious as fuck.
Well, no rush for me, I've got plenty of his stuff left to read anyways.
definitely is, who knows what kind of brush or tool he used to make it look like carbon texture or something.
Well its a good thing the MC was irrelevant for most of it then.
Shut up, we're talking about artwork
which also wasn't that great besides like 5 spreads. His strong point was fight choreography
Hideo Yamamoto is so good. I'm hoping whatever he is doing after Homunculus is good.
how in the fuck did they get away with this?
Ignore all other anons, punpun is a depressing no thrills snooze fests that tries to be 3deep5you. The series should have ended with that spread, after that it all goes downhill.
4 chapters were translated back in september, but it's been so long since I read the series I completely forgot what was goin on, shame, because I remember it being a damn good series.
>that moment when you realize that as guts is now, he would gladly welcome her into his party
I felt bad for the girl, all she has ahead of her is an abusive home. But that guts has his memory crew and a cap on his demon summoner, he can play baby sitter all day long.
Well wait... now that I think of it, more than likely that girl is probably in falconia living better off than she was. Or, plot twist, the worlds greatest prositute is actually old jill.
how is this real
how to dbfags defend this shit? how.. i dont.. ah..
Pretty sure they mean this one.
So? Sure there are some pages that are more important but it's not like is an unimportant page or any filler. It's meant to show the wealth of the dude that was unknown to the reader up to that point, that's why he even circles the 2 people to show how tiny they are.
Ichijima is the old man who is the sole reason Hojo had any guaranteed survival throughout the entire manga. He first appears near the beginning in a pasture feeding horses, after someone (I forget who) tells Hojo that he *needs* to meet Ichijima; that he can't make it big without his consent/support. It's said that he can wipe out an entire syndicate (or two) with a single word.
He appears a few times throughout the manga, when Hojo needs to inform him of large plans he's made, but appears most often at the end when he rescinds his support from Hojo and declares him an enemy; trying to get Tokai to kill him. He was in the house in which Hojo and the Chinaman discussed their plans presumably listening in, and talks on equal terms with the Chinaman after Hojo leaves. He's clearly implied to be extremely influential/powerful, but we never actually see *anyone* working for him besides Tokai and the doctor that works on Tokai.
No, it is the China guy's place, it's very distinctly Chinese in design - Ichijima and the China guy were just allies; he probably asked China if he could listen in on the conversation. Ichijima asks him after he's talked to Hojo, and China tells him that he is going to break his alliance with Ichijima in order to work with Hojo.
I was clarifying why the page wasn't "important" - we didn't need to see the house/environs to know Chinaman is powerful, we knew it even just from the fact that Hojo was talking to him about a partnership.
Of course we knew he was powerful, the whole manga is about power climbing, but part of what that page is meant to do is really show just how powerful that dude really was. I mean that ain't your everyday billionaire's home.
I'm not arguing whether or not the spread had a purpose, literally all I said was that it was one of the least important pages in the manga. I wasn't trying to devalue it or the art, I was marking its significance to the plot. Consider how many individual pages contain information necessary to understand subsequent events. You could have read through without seeing his home from the outside.
Except this is a thread about visually beautiful pages. You're basically digging up shit that isn't even relevant to begin with and now you're backpedalling like the faggot you are.
