First for Nozomi.
I wish GoPri would end already so we could have Maho Girls.
I don't hate GoPri, but this is the first time I've ever been excited about an upcoming season. Mirai is the cutest pink and I already love her so much. I want to buy all her toys.
I wanted to get the Rinkle Stick DX, but they sold out of it so fast at Amiami and I was checking it every day. Oh well, the DX sets don't seem to be that hard to get off Mandarake right after they come out anyway.
>I need to see how it ends before I buy anything from it.
But the only reason to buy shitty little girl merch is to have something from when the show was airing so you remember how much fun you had.
>I could end up hating the show
But... but it's Precure.
This is all the merch I have. I hope Maho gets more than cheap trinkets this year. They haven't even done prize figures since Doki, I think.
You get to live with a extremely cute girl, I say it's worth it.
I would buy her all the food she wants as long as she doesn't become fat.
This is some stuff I have. They're made of acrylic and you pop them out and stand them up. They have one of every cure but now I can't find most of them or they're priced really stupidly. I regret not getting black too
Kinda newfag here, currently watching the episode 38 of Doki, I dunno why you guys were talking shit so much about this season,it's pretty decent so far.
I have only one concern:
Where the fuck is Regina?
Doki is great.
I think most of the people here would probably fantasize about the Cures being their wife or daughter, but for whatever reason I've always wanted a Cure to be my mom. This isn't really something that happens to me with other anime so I don't know why.
>I've always wanted a Cure to be my mom
Who MOMMY ISSUES here?
I actually found myself a cute boy with them who I slowly nurtured into becoming co-dependent on me and calls me mommy all the time. /blog
Feels good man.
>Everybody loves Doki.
Not even close. For some, Doki has a bunch of problems, and the big question mark is how you feel about an unusual pink for being more like a shounen I-can-do-it-all type who only has the most superficial of weaknesss. If that's not a problem, then Mana will probably win you over and the rest of the series will fall into line, because the real growth is Regina's and jher storyline more or less hinges on her loving the pants off of Mana just for being Mana. MakoPi should probably be a bigger deal, but just has two or three episodes that really feature her (and her alone without Mana just saving her ass) in a way that help you understand her struggle, but she's generally underused and underdeveloped.
Aguri is hit-or-miss, depending on how much of a lolicon you are, though Ace is a decidedly unusual cure that's less grown-up and more a young girl's image of what a grown-up might be (so sexy, arrogant and bossy).
I would like to marry Mana. She's prett nice and fun girl. Cute too.
I want to marry Mana too.
I just really want to pat her on the head.
We should just erase everyone who doesn't like Doki.
Tsubomi is pretty milf like. I'll marry her and become your dad.
Aw, but then you wouldn't have anyone left to get mad when you talk about how awesome Doki is. One thing that seems abundantly clear is that the majority of Doki fans love that reaction.
The Prophet Mana will do something about it.
I love Regina!
Me too. Thanks.
>Started to watch Precure because I fucking hate haremshit, moeshit and those otaku shows I just want to watch cool fights
>At this point I can say my favorite part of Precure are the girls and how they face their problems (literally slice of life)
A-am I becoming a moefag /pc/?
That probably explains why I can't cast any more spells.
I own far too much stuff to place every Precure thing I own into a single picture. So here are some random items I like I put into a picture. One day I will organize everything.
I saw that exact signature on that exact gopri thingy on yahoo auctions. The kig actors sign that don't they? I love how it says Almighty on Mana's badge. I really don't like talking about precure buyfagging in the buyfag thread so it's nice to be able to with someone here. I have these clear files from an artist I really should be aware of.
That's pretty nice
And some random books. I love the artbooks that have come out. Gotta get the revised Umakoshi book and the new one for whoever did Futari wa's characters next. Last image incase someone calls me a blogger or some shit.
They do, but oddly enough they only made Sunshine ones.
Not the last picture then. This one comes with this set of post cards all drawn by Kawano. The book itself seems to be some information about new stage 3 and all the cures. There's also some pages of Toei staff comments and drawings at the end. It's a really cheap book but I'm not sure if it's worth getting unless you just want more pictures of pretty cures and stuff
The 2015 one is nicer, it comes with a double sided poster. The fairies are on the other side. It's got some information about spring carnival and the back has these paper things you pop out and they stand up, there is one of every cure to Twinkle. I really like these cause they use the illustrations from the poster
I feel like the entire industry went bottom up around 2007-2008, and I stopped watching anime for years. Precure got me back into it, but I can still count the amount of other things I've enjoyed since then on one hand.
S-sorry.. I'll leave, oneechan...
I tried to order a figure on amazon.jp before when I ordered pucchigumi, but they wouldn't send figures outside of japan.
>All of the waste from food just goes to their breasts
This sounds horrible. I don't want to be sucking on Urara's tits only to have a huge turd emerge from her nipple into my mouth. I am reminded of shitting dick nipples now.
You are right, man.
Spoilered for blogshit
Since I started lifting I'm eating 5-6 times per day and, of course ,taking big fat shits and farting all the fucking day. Never marry a girl who eats a lot. Never.
She gaining cowtits from food is even worst than being fat.
Urara has been eating like that for quite a time though, she must have a high metabolism and work up to maintain her cute body. She also hit puberty already, so I don't think she will gain anything from food.
Aoyama is marginally better if only because he's actually able to draw both eyes aligned IF you give him the time (which they never do). Kawano's style is just shit. His episodes have only been looking better lately since the two other animators who work with him have been getting better. (Or he hasn't been correcting their work?)
Kawano is in charge of fixing other people's work? I thought he was just a shitty filipino animator who draws magical girls
Kawano is an animation director with his own studio (the NichiAsa 8:30 outsource studio). His episodes always consist of him and two other animators, though I don't know whether or not they've been with him since the beginning.
Would it be okay if I de-screened all the color pages?
Cute, sexy, *and* beautiful. She's really got it all.
That's not a uniform FUCKWAD that's her Cure outfit.
This lovely cat is truly the most skilled feline of them all! She caught a quick slippery fish with her bare hands. Now it's Hummy's turn to give praise.
This sleeveless outfit looks amazing.
HaCha (with some color) manga
I really wonder how Nagisa and Honoka would look like in 10 years. Both goddesses I am sure.
This is easily in my top five Precure episodes. The message was so cheesy but they really nailed the execution, and the fight had the best animation so far. Whoever directed this episode did a great job.
News Update On Maho Girls Precure: There are 12 linkle stones all together currently.
A quote from someone in livejournal;
Dunno if this was confirmed for sure anywhere but the girls (or just Mirai?) will be wearing the Stones as necklaces.
>世界にちらばっている 12 個のリンクルストーン
There are 12 Linkle Stones scattered throughout the world. Doesn't indicate which world so I guess it could be both."
the stuff of fanfic that I want written.
Grown up cures and how do they interact with each others.
Admittedly I'm still watching my second season (Maxheart) but I guess I like the characters that much.
I want her to blast me with rose petals.
Precure x Valkyrie Drive yuri game, when?
>nonsense magic words
I lost it.
And that's certainly an unexpected way to use that vgm I heard in a couple of parts. Hilariously, it fit. Brilliant, but the Tsubomi voice made my ears bleed.
No just a decent cosplayer who portrays Passion, Rouge and a few others.
Her's a pic of her as Passion
>I really wonder how Nagisa and Honoka would look like in 10 years. Both goddesses I am sure.
Nagisa is pic related
I'm watching Futari and the vids have dual Audio tracks. I just watched episode 45 where they perform the ED for a school contest and I was curious about the English dub so I switched over and I actually liked it. Does anyone know if there is a full version of the english cover somewhere?
Heartcatch and Futari Wa are the best introduction series. Probably GoPri too, since it's airing right now.
Smile, Suite, Yes, Fresh are all solid, but have different strengths and weaknesses.
Doki, HaCha, and Splash Star are probably best to avoid as a newcomer, for various reasons. Don't start with Max Heart or GoGo either, they're sequels.
>torrenting HC movie
>no more seeders
>stuck at 21%
Anyone know where I can stream it? Also the DX2 movie, since that didn't have any seeders to begin with.
Stay comfy /pc/.
>feels like -34°
Heartcatch is the most solid all around
Futari Wa is the most dated one, if you prefer old anime style this is were you start
But honestly, all of the seasons follow the same formula so just pick a group you like and watch that (Max heart and gogo are sequels so watch out for those).
Personal favorite has to be Suite, so if you ask me I'd say watch that
No thats not how you issue good advice. Futari Wa, Splash Star, and Heartcatch are the three strongest entries for newcomers trying out the series because they are the best series for exercising the core vision of the franchise with the most consistent production and performance quality. These three should be recommended first because these are the three strongest offerings which will not flake out on the viewer on large stretches of episodes at a time.
Not every fan will like all of series; but out of these three series, one is likely to stick. I know Pretty Cure just seems like a series about cute girls doing stupid shit, but theres something charming and enchanting about the WELL EXECUTED idea of little girls bonding through feats of adversity, courage, and great justice. And it is for this very reason that someone who is interested in the series should try out the first couple episodes of these three 'beginner' series to see which cast they enjoy the most.
There's also Yes 5! if it's a newcomer who likes Tokyo Mew Mew/Sailor Moon...
And Fresh Precure if the newcomer has explicitly stated that he does not care for animation quality
A bunch of guys got together and made this parody of Smile Precure called 'Glitter Force'.
You know how how back in the 90s when anime dubbing companies didn't even know what the fuck anime even was and had no clue how to adapt it for kids they made all these stupid or otherwise completely unnecessary changes that turned the show into something completely different and overall vastly inferior? Well they did the dub in that style.
Although honestly the joke stopped being funny once I realised that it wasn't meant to be a clever jab at outdated dubbing practices and also wasn't a joke.
The first season has a sequel season. People have very mixed opinions on it.
In general, however, Precure seasons are independent and doesn't share characters or setting (except in once-a-year crossover movies).
>It happens, some anime comes out with similar themes every season. Like the sudden influx of pseudo cape shit
Yes, but still http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2016-01-06/j.c-staff-makes-flying-witch-tv-anime-for-april/.97261
They have a sequal season if you haven't seen that as well, Max Heart, but other than that they only appear in the yearly crossover movies.
On the bright side, they're always badass in them.
Basically Madoka kicked off the witch fetish. It wasn't popular enough to become its own craze and overtake mahou shoujo and the strike witches/musume girl clones, but the otaku fanbase is significant enough to be considered healthy.
I was there with you guys up until today. Hang in there.
>haven't been here in forever
>someone added sunglasses to my Flora edit
It's good to be back
>strongest entries for newcomers
Whoa, no no no. Not even a little. It's not especially pretty, its theming is soft, the plot is formulaic, and worst of all, the cures aren't even the most engaging characters in the series. Probably the best reason for starting with SS would be because you're following Inagami and Yuki over because you loved DBZ's artwork.
>thats not how you issue good advice
Well fuck, this isn't even good advice. Making it sound like FW, SS and HC are the pinnacle of the franchise is selling it way, way short.
>consistent production and performance quality
>FW and SS
Well I guess you could say SS had consistently shit production values.
FUCKING SPLASHSTARFAGS WITH THEIR SPLASHSTAR TEARS GOD SHUT UP
>the pinnacle of the franchise
The best series in the franchise are your personal favorites. The franchise is varied enough with its 10 or so series for people to have a reasonable top 3 favorites list with their own justifications. Some people say HaCha and Doki rank among their personal best and I don't judge them for that, thats just what they found to be the most fun and engaging.
Pic related, because I personally think Suite was at its best with two Cures but thats generally an unpopular opinion.
>Some people say HaCha and Doki rank among their personal best and I don't judge them for that
I bet you secretly rank one of them if not both among your personal favorites too. You should be shot together with them.
Actually my personal top 3 is
>The best series in the franchise are your personal favorites.
That's a completely different thing from being the pinnacle of a franchise in a general term. What's even your point? Fun things are fun? No shit. My favorite is Smile but there's no fucking way I can say "Yes, Smile is the best thing this franchise has to offer overall. It's perfect and there's not a single mistake on it". with a straight face. Liking something does not mean it's the best, and in fact, liking something just makes you more aware of it's issues.
No matter how you wanna twist it, HC is the pinnacle of the Precure franchise so far. It's been the only one that has gotten critical acclaim and praise and that 5 years later people still hope for a true HC 2.0 says lots about it too.
Keep proving my point. That people who don't give a single fuck about Precure, or mahou shoujo in general and yet watch HC and like it does not mean it is super low entry level for casuals. HC in no moment lowered it's standards to try to bring on a "wider audience or anything like that" either and yet the wider came to it. That's because it is a damn well made series even people without interest to the franchise or genre become attracted to.
>Suite was at its best with two Cures
But after 20 episodes together, I think it's natural for them to want to start a family.
>That's because it is a damn well made series even people without interest to the franchise or genre become attracted to.
Do heartcasuals genuinely believe this, or they just learned themselves to say such things like /u/ posters do?
I wanted Batcure constantly intruding on the double tsundere romance more than the Suitecure Family, but thats just me
There is a line when word buzzword become a buzzword itself. You just crossed it.
Anyways heartcasuals and /u/ posters are empiricaly proved reality of /pc/ not buzzwords.
>That's because it is a damn well made series even people without interest to the franchise or genre become attracted to.
I think it's just the eyecandy, and maybe the unique pink and Yui suffering.
Everything else has been done better by other series, but as always the easiest way to attract people is with high production values, which include Nana, Umakoshi and the sakuga.
Other than that HC doesn't have something clearly better than other series.
It's contrarian /pc/ time?
I liked Nagisa.
SS had a shitty finale
Nozomi is a shit leader and Bunbee is boring
Setsuna was the worst redeemed extra cure
Yuri should have gotten a happy ending
I liked Suite first half better than anything else of it
Smile had the best final boss in the franchise
Regina sucks and she was the first of many reasons Doki went to shit, even more than Ace and MANAAAAAAAAA
I liked HaCha second half
Haruka is not ugly
It certainly would've been a whole different show. I would've loved to see more from Kanade, she's kind flat as it stands now. But they could've made for an interesting show on their own, even if the action would probably suck. Imagine Seiren
getting cleansed as a catand Batcure remaining separate the whole time.
In the end, I guess I never wished for that because it felt like Hummy was the most important part. I really enjoyed the pair dynamic and all, but I just thought their little adopted family was too cute.
>I liked Nagisa
Everyone should like Nagisa.
The action in Suite generally sucked.
Uh- why is dealing with heartcasuals so tiring?
I guess Naruto is the best shit ever
HC is honestly really boring. The VOTW almost makes it a chore just to get to the fight scene. I love the artstyle but it was a pretty bad decision. Smile, Suite, Doki, Fresh, Fw and Gopri are all better
Because dismissing flesh and bone humans isn't something you should be hardwired for or that should be easy. We're in this together, no matter how much you think you're above it all.
PreCure seasons are divided by being above average and average (within the parameters of a little girl's show). Heartcatch is part of the seasons that most consider above average, but that's it.
Because it doesn't mean it's the best.
Using HC final episodes as an example and comparing them to Suite's, you will see how Suite finale is better in everything except the battle itself. Yet, if we made a poll in /a/ about it, HC would win because is the one most people have seen and it had a better animated battle.
>Yet, if we made a poll in /a/ about it, HC would win because is the one most people have seen and it had a better animated battle.
There's a reason why they're called heartcasuals. Also I like the final fight against noise more than the fight with Dune
Onee-san, is it true that you don't like tiny hats?
I'd say Suite's action scenes were mostly just boring, really. They're not awful or riddled with QUALITY, but they're almost entirely composed of double/triple dropkick, the cures getting beaten up, then beamspam to win. There are exceptions, of course, but I'd point to a show like HC or Smile as much, much better choreography-wise for the short bits where the cures are getting beaten up and fighting back. In the front half, it's in that broad tier with SS, Doki and HaCha.
One little footnote, Suite didn't have a lot of interesting talk over top of the fighting either, the way HC's format lent itself to, so that made those scenes a little blander as well.
There was something really sparse about Fresh's drawing style that made the QUALITY a lot more forgivable than, say, Yes5's, almost like they intended from the beginning for it to be kinda simple and ugly. I actually think that helped a lot.
>They're not awful or riddled with QUALITY, but they're almost entirely composed of double/triple dropkick, the cures getting beaten up, then beamspam to win
Take out the dropkick parts and you have doki fight scenes. You have no idea what you're talking about
Why is this New Game artist so based.
>Arguing about seasons
>Meanwhile Kirara continues to be the best princess in the best season since HC
>HC would win because is the one most people have seen
Most people have seen it because it is good. Did that thought ever occured to you? If other series are better, why those people didn't watch them or vote for them? It isn't just about single things like fights, plot, art... it is about how well they composed everything into one show. Smiles may have better animation, GoPri better fights, but even though HC is average (by your standarts) at each thing as a whole it is simply best season.
Ever since seeing a webm where they just touch the bad guy and send him flying I've put it on the very bottom of my "to watch" seasons. I do like their transformation music though.
I rag on SS a bit, but it's not hate, mostly disillusionment. I haven't even finished it and I'm at about the same point as I am with FW (30's) and it might just be better than FW but to be honest both have been a painful, boring slog for me. Even HaCha was more engaging than this and I wasn't even the least bit invested in the romance bits.
Fantastically shit opinion
Cure Ultra Happy was so stupid
but I loved it anyway
>comparing Nana-sama to other VAs or idols
>popular things are always good
Nana, Umakoshi, the timid pink, among other things are enough to attract people to see it.
Like how a movie use Johnny Depp to sell and the movie becomes popular despite being worst in everything else than other movies that came out at the same time.
How popular it is has never been a synonym of how good it is, unless you believe Madoka is the best Mahou Shoujo in the last 20 years and OPM is the best anime of the year.
What's your point? People should stop liking things?
Only HC ties in well. I just watched it (I'm the anon from earlier complaining about the torrent). The others are just side stories. Anyways the HC one was really good at developing the messages from episodes 37 and 38, as I assume it's supposed to take place right after them chronologically. I think FW's movie also did something similar. I haven't seen it but since you're supposed to see it at the end of the season, I'm not really sure how well it worked.
Side stories against strong villains.
The dark witch of the first MH movie iirc was brutal as fuck.
Both Nagisa and Honoka were very close to literal death numerous times
>Tfw I probably make more with a shitty retail job than the people who draw my pretty cures
I really want to know how much someone makes a month to just to draw for toei now.
Umakoshi is the show's character designer, not a voice actor. He was also in charge of the animation in many of the important episodes like the debuts of Blossom, Dark Precure, Sunshine and Moonlight.
Stupid things can be pretty.
Not like that, they literally just tapped him, some pixie dust(?) was released from their hands when doing so, they landed, and he was sent flying upwards. It was quite a while ago, so my memory might not be the best.
Precure physics are hilarious, I love whenever they fall from stupid heights or get blown up and are completely okay. Or when they crash into something and there's an explosion
>2nd from the top left
FYI, that's a not a great way to describe which face you were talking about. I really have no clue which one you're talking about.
The episodes for the 4 in the top-left corner are:
That's just anime physics. At least in PreCure they slam into dirt/buildings that can reasonably create dust. In Pokemon attacks like tackle and water gun colliding with each other have made explosions. I forgot which episode, but have this example instead.
Still not yours, but yet another stellar example of SS's fighting.
No, I actually got into both, Precure and Shugo Chara, because of Nana.
I'm just saying that popular thing don't equalize to being good. Also, that HC being the best Precure has to offer is debatable and the sale numbers are not something that should be taken into consideration when arguing about it.
What about some good solo episodes from other seasons? Fresh's mother episodes were really good, and the one in Heartcatch with Erika's weapon.
