KyoAni hasn't made a good anime since Hyouka, what the fuck happened?
Euphonium and Tamako were really top quality, I enjoyed Free but it isn't for everyone.
I haven't watched a KyoAni show since Lucky Star, as one of few people who seemed to actually find that funny
I might watch this thing with the blonde chick if the battles are actually good and all the shit surrounding the battles isn't so terrible it detracts from my enjoyment of the battles, like the rest of their shows that aren't Haruhi or TSR
Kyoanimation figured out how to make even more money, just write shitty novels and adapt them, because the loyal fans will watch it anyways because at least it will look pretty.
You know the target demographic is fujoshits, right? Even if there's no 'canon' gay, we all know what it's implying.
>Moe is gay I'd rather watch ripped men swimming
>if it's not a masterpiece it's shit
Whoa there faggot.
Hyouka is a top 3 kyoani production and its within the top 15 all time anime.
You're delusional as fuck if you try to deny this.
I fully and wholeheartedly agree!
Amagi was KyoAni taking a break from making masterpieces and just making an average anime with stellar production values. It was refreshing.
How similar is Amagi to Kyoukai no Kanata?
KnK bored me to death, and Amagi looks to have a similar tone. I have too much shit to watch to waste my time if it's going to be more of the same.
The only truly bad anime they have made is Munto. Everything else has either been a masterpiece (Haruhi, K-On, Nichijou, Hyoka, Hibike, Fumoffu, Clannad, Nichijou again), or a solid 8/10
>top 15 all time anime
Love it to death, but no.
I really wish they would make some more masterpieces.
Sometimes I wish I spoke japanese and were a talented writer so I could just enter their contest and give them some quality LNs so they don't have to animate the trash they are doing now.
me desu, it's in my top 10
>inb4 "woa anon u must have shit taste in animu"
You have fantastic taste.
Air, Amagi, Beyond the Boundary, Chunibyo, Clannad, Euphonium, FMP Fomofu, FMP Second Raid, Haruhi, Hyouka, Kanon, K-on, Lucky Star,
Nichijou, Chunibyo, Tamako .. of all of their non-gay series not a bad one in the bunch. Can't wait for Silent Voice.
it's a solid 7/10 for the characters alone. Mainly thanks to megane goddess though
>Caring about who likes what you like
Why can't KyoAni just make every anime? Sometimes watching other shows after finishing a KyoAni show is just painful.
I don't feel it is gay though regardless of who it's aimed at.
Free is really weak fujo shit then.
No it isn't, Retards just randomly ship brothers with each other and dump Yaoi shit all over doesn't mean it targets fujos.
Say what you want about Kyoani, but any critcism of the actual animation for their shows should be disregarded as fucking stupid
Most of that scene is tweened to shit though. Along with them not even trying to merge the cg aftereffects into the animation. also adding fucking lensflare for sword clashing is retarded.
I love Kyoani, but all Kyoani have done lately is just fapservice(I haven't seen Free though and I don't need/want to). Last good thing they made was KnK.
>Along with them not even trying to merge the cg aftereffects into the animation. also adding fucking lensflare for sword clashing is retarded
you're literally talking out of your ass dude? What's this about CG aftereffects? What lens flare?
>second one out of order alphabetically
Is this a trigger?
K-On! is not only Kyoani's greatest work, its also the greatest anime ever made.
Couldn't agree more. Azunyan is a miracle of the universe
While Hibike wasn't a bad show at all, but for me atleast it was pretty frustrating watching all these students not doing anything, but still hoping to win big time. The most interesting thing for me was definitely Reina, but I think I'm way better of watching whiplash for a similar character without unneeded romance and drama.
yeah I'm comparing anime to a 3dpg movie.
I guess I as always playing my instrument solo can't connect to this band drama as much. So to me comedy, moe and romance all just distracted from the actually interesting aspects of the show
TM was legitimately good. Well animated, scored, had a handful of memorable characters, had some great narrrative themes, and was very easygoing and comfortable as an SoL should be.
He was usually just comedic relief though. The whole idea of the island characters is that they're disrupting the market life, but they don't usually overshadow it.
Dera wasn't really that funny to me, and in my opinion, he did overshadow the market life on many occasions. He's in focus far, far too often and every time he's in a scene I wish it was someone else. I understand the wish to have a fish out of water character to introduce the setting but a talking animal just clashes far too much with the fairly grounded tone of the show in my opinion.
You're right: they've made GREAT anime since Hyouka, which was merely good.
>When did KyoAni started with fanservice?
Not that anon, but I enjoyed the mild magic realism if you can call it that. Everyone accepts the talking bird pretty quickly and don't question things like him turning into a projector and stuff.
Hibike is KyoAni's most ambitious project artistically since Hyouka. It's way more serious than the other shows you listed, and it really has minimum fanservice, unless you count KumiRei as fapservice.
>all these students not doing anything
There was a whole episode dedicated to Taki's hardcore training, Kumiko was shown practicing by the river several times, Midori is said to practice so much that her fingers bleed, and she has to wear the tape on her fingers to protect her from the bruising or whatever. Kumiko literally practiced herself into dehydration. Hazuki is trained hard by the tuba girl, she even complains about all the hard work I think. Asuka is shown at her house being a literal nut for music, it's insane. Reina obviously practices a lot since she wants to be special.
Really, I don't get how people think the characters in Hibike "don't practice".
Make a good supernatural drama.
Stay fiscally solvent. Remember the Free movie?
