Kaneki knows there's underhanded shit going on at CCG, and his relationship with Urie is complete shit. Can't wait for next chapter though. From my perspective it seems like Ishida has been playing coy with Kaneki to keep our attention engaged over his break. Dropping enough detail to make it seem like Kaneki is the model investigator, the heartless black reaper who callously slaughters ghouls with abandon and no longer gives a fuck about Hinami.

There is -literally- no way Ishida is going to make Kaneki fight Takatsuki two chapters after their last battle. He's just whetting our apetite to keep things open enough that it looks like a serious possibility. When I bet the first chapter that focuses on Kaneki will show us how he's running a long game against CCG, that he's plotting a massive jail break with Takatsuki and Furuta.

I think Hinami will be the confirmation, either way. It seems to me he's trying to be kind through cruelty. He barely tolerated Tsukiyama (though that changed with the end of TG and interactions with Haise) and he still saved him. He sacrificed Karen to keep his cover, but she had killed a lot of people and tried to kill him and the Qs multiple times. He hasn't outed Anteiku or even Eto.

Am I the only one who thinks that the possible betrayal of Eto by Tatara, that was somewhat foreshadowed in the calendar, could be as a result of Kaneki and Furuta's breakout plan?

Aogiri Tree has been hunted by the CCG in a relentless manner, presumably like never before. As badly as they need new recruits, they could also want to get some old ones that have been captured back.

When Tatara originally refused to break into Cochlea to save Hinami it was because it was too dangerous. But what if when Furuta and Kaneki discuss things with Eto, that Eto is for the plan but Tatara is still against it?

It could cause a rift in Aogiri. I mean hell, what if Kaneki pitches the idea to Eto but doesn't mention Hinami and simply uses Aogiri's attack on Cochlea as a distraction to break her out himself, and at that point maybe just fucks off leaving Aogiri in the middle of a battle when maybe Eto was expecting him to stay and help. Eto's willingness to believe Kaneki's plan could maybe be the last straw for Tatara, and his betrayal could be mid-battle in Cochlea.

Taking down Aogiri and OEK is the biggest task CCG must have right now, and it can create a diversion that Cochlea will be left with less security in order for Kaneki to rescue Hinami.

How does he know it to be exact because he wasn't there when Matsumae killed his boss. Ui was fooled by his act. Keep in mind that when Kijima was alive, Furuta treated him very well and there is not a single trace of betrayal. He only flips the switch when Kijima dies, leaving him alone to survive. And there is also a big if that he is stuoid to the point that Eto will go with his plan smoothly. Kaneki knows she has been destroying relationship, i.e Kanae and Tsukiyama, how can he trust Eto will leave Hinami safe and sound. If anything, he should hate how Hinami joined Aogiri because of Eto's words. Even in Root A, he joined Aogiri but never behaves nice with Tatara or other bosses. He wanted to kill the OEK. Your theory would work if Furuta isn't there and Kaneki not coming as a CCG investigators.
