So 激突のヘクセンナハト will be my first foray into Kawakami. What to expect?
Owari no Chronicle and Horizon feel impenetrable nowadays, so I chose something different to start.

PDF, epub or something? I want to read the first volume.
>>135696418
I bought it in paper. But it could be on Nyaa, I guess.
>>135696537
Well, I was talking about the translated version, but it's cool to have it original...
>>135696620
It's translated?
>>135696635
Yeah.

Hmm, that was fast. I'll still go for Japanese though.

Magical mecha musume battles.
Wands over 500 meters long.

I don't understand why the lengths of the series are so daunting to many people. It's not like you have to read the whole things to get into them, and reading a chapter a day is hardly a huge undertaking.
Not saying there's anything wrong with starting with Hexennacht (other than me feeling that it's a bit less serious than his other series) but still.
>>135697137
I dislike the idea of leaving things "not done".
>>135697216
Nothing can get "done" without starting at some point. I think I understand what you mean though. Are you afraid of putting too much time into it and then dropping it, meaning that time was for nothing?
>>135697334
Nah, I would just feel a nagging feeling that I should read further volumes at all times. With 激突のヘクセンナハト there are no futher volumes yet.
>>135697137
Because literal walls of paper are daunting.
>>135697473
When you get into the series, I feel that it's more of a reassuring feeling that there's still more to read.
>>135696769
Kagami is cute.
Are there any good and comprehensive reviews of any Kawakami series?
They would be handy to link newfriends to.
>>135698191
Well, there's these two onMAL:

But other than that, I can't find much in English.
>>135701693
Fuck you for making me choose.
I picked Owari no Chronicle only because it's over and Horizon still has time to fuck itself up.
>>135701693
>Implying they aren't both the best
>>135697661
That's what I though at firstand then I reached the latest translation ;_;
Hexennacht happens after or before Horizon?
>>135702540
Before.
>>135702555
Interesting, thanks.
Fuck the cover is gorgeous
>>135702509
Well, even at that point it's not so baduntil you reach the currently translated chapter of all Kawakami novels and have to resort to binging on the partial encyclopedia translation.
>>135702540
No, it's after Horizon.
Horizon takes place in the GENESIS era while Hexennacht takes place in OBSTACLE, which consists of multiple loops of all the eras leading up to it.
>>135702704
Oh, so it's after. Sorry, remembered wrong >>135702555
>>135702509
It's ok when the translator is based js06. Without him we wouldn't be here.
>>135702728
It's understandable since the technology seems to be behind Horizon. I guess Hexennacht might be in the AHEAD era of its loop?
>>135697371
So you're just lazy. No need to sugarcoat it.
>>135703938
Nigger I have like 10 more LNs and around 250 VNs in my backlog. I just can't afford to add long series into it.
Of course it's absurd to think I'd ever read all the VNs I have ready, so instead I'm just focusing on the proverbial "cream of the crop", but even that is several titles.
>>135702901
Yeah, I'm not complaining, if anything it's surprising he got this far so fast while also translating other good novels fully
That said I REALLY want to read more Narumi ;_;
>>135697137
Any guide to get into this Kawakami-verse? What should I read first?
>>135705135
You can start with whichever.
