What in the world makes you think Mnemosyne was heavy on a feminist theme? Do you just equate lesbians with feminism or something?
The male angels *devour* female immortals, and the latter are practically helpless to stop themselves succumbing to the sexual desires the former's presence instills in them. I'm no feminist scholar, but I've done some political philosophy courses, and as far as I can tell, that kind of message rather starkly contrasts that of most feminists.
Yet women get immortality (doomed to walk to earth whether they want to or not) and men are reduced to demons who die quickly. I personally thought they evened eachother out very well.
