Is she the idol Macross deserves?
>the heart-shaped pin is actually a tentacle or something
jesus christ that's terrifying
ranka already had semi-sentient hair, but that takes it to a whole nother level
>yfw macross delta is an anime where they pit a group of boyband vs a 5girls idol unit
What went wrong?
What happened to my transforming plane and missile spam dogfight?
Reminder that Sheryl is so ridiculously best girl that she made every other girl in all Macross series completely obsolete.
Because that's not what Macross is about.
The war is a stage for the main characters to interact on.
There's no space for moral ambiguity, complex antagonists and all that, because the characters
all fill those roles.
You could set any Macross series nearly anywhere if you ignore the other foundation of the series, which is transforming fighter planes.
As long as can you put this sort of pressure on the characters it would feel the same.
thats what i thought too. never seen the anime, but I did play macross vfx2 for ps1 and robotech for ps2. pretty damn sure there were no idol singing in my missions.
tfw aerial combat we never be like this again
I don't want Sheryl to have any screentime, since she owns every single scene she's in.
This series isn't supposed to be about her, but it proabably would be far better if it was.
Mikumo better be a love interest and a Sheryl knockoff.
What makes IKENAI BORDERLINE great?
I bet it's the trumpets. It has to be the trumpets.
>your hair will never get an erection
She feels really, really stupid, even moreso than Ranka.
Retard moe can work, if you do it right.
Ranka felt retarded and annoying, because she was so ridiculously innocent and had the foresight of a Hideki Tojo.
Whatshername looks stupid and overconfident.
And I can already see the series giving her everything she desires.
I really hate this sort of character
I really hope she is thoroughly broken by the end of it all.
Luckily, since this is Macross, humbling her is on the table.
I would whiteknight the shit out of this cute Winderemerean song princess.
>There's no space for moral ambiguity, complex antagonists and all that, because the characters all fill those roles.
Wasn't the entire nature of the Zentradi end up being about moral ambiguity?
Hell even the Vajra were morally ambiguous by the end since it turned out they weren't even villains
Can it be possible that the galactic witch and the boyband are actually two different antagonistic entities. I'd like this. Basara the leader of the boyband, galactic witch being Sheryl. But alas, that would be too cool for Macrosss and Kawamori.
Sheryl is the songstress of victory, she's gonna show those amateurs how to do propaganda.
I mean it they're just being used.
>Windmere is a planet. You see it on the map at the start of the episode. It's where the Knights are from. Humanity tried to colonize it. The natives didn't take it too well.
>Rogue, anti-colonial elements within the UN fleets provided the Windmerians with the materials and blueprints required to build their own Variable Fighters. The head of the Knights, Keith Aero Windmere, appears to be prince of the nation, fighting for his planet's freedom against what they perceive to be an aggressive alien conglomerate attempting to colonize their planet.
>I really hope she is thoroughly broken by the end of it all.
>Luckily, since this is Macross, humbling her is on the table.
She will become the new Basara and you will like it.
>Winderemerean apologists everyone
Humanity and the macross fleet literally did nothing wrong. You don't go around terrorizing and suicide bombing other planents just because your population masses fell in love with the alien culture.
Literally mudslimes thinking.
What goes on in his mind? He even ignored the biker chick and two Jenius girls.
>all characters are moeblob
Freyja is annoying as fuck.
Mikumo looks to be the only saving grace of the series, just like her predecessor was.
Unfortunately she feels nowhere near as exciting as Sheryl and she has a lot more on her plate than Sheryl.
So is this gonna be a thing now?
This. There will never be another Sheryl Nome.
Humanity/Zentradi are spreading degeneracy (trashy hypersexualized pop-culture) and shitskin immigrants (they literally named a planet al Shahal ffs) at gunpoint.
The Winderemereans are clearly the good guys.
Also, Freyja is a degenerate little racetraitor, who away from her duty as a future wife and mother, in order to sing lewd songs and race mix with terran boys.
Pic related: the high point of terran "culture".
>What goes on in his mind?
Zentradi never had elf ears until Frontier. And Frontier a shit.
>"kill or be killed" isn't really very ambiguous, is it?
Did we forget that the Vajra weren't actually the bad guys and most of the last third of the show was dealing with Ranka trying to talk with them?
Nah, the trend started in 7.
Zero is still good. It start to go downhill with Frontier and then going full retard with Delta.
Not in SDF, but they got them in DYRL. Zentradi ears are such an inconsistent mess.
>It was kill or be killed until then.
Yeah "Until then". That's why I said the Vajra were morally ambiguous "by the end". The Zentradi were just evil assholes until Deculture came into the picture. I don't know where this "Macross has never had moral ambiguity" came from because the entire point of the story is having all sides come together by the end
no this is a new universe called are you fucking retarded?
>there are people in this thread who have never seen SDF
Mikumo is the most dead of them all. i bet she is related to the enemy.
A 14-year-old girl, born on the remote frontier of the galaxy, who yearns to be in the tactical sound unit Walküre.
The vocalist of the tactical sound unit Walküre. A mysterious girl, of unknown age, whose history and private life are all shrouded in enigma.
22-year-old leader of the tactical sound unit Walküre. She serves as the "big sister" of the team.
An 18-year-old member of the tactical sound unit Walküre and a girl who appears to be a bit flighty. She serves as the mechanic.
A 15-year-old member of the tactical sound unit Walküre. She hardly talks or displays her emotions. She is also an ace hacker.
Do you think those cities and colonies are build by magic? Those are poor spacenoids forced by the UN into slavery to build their fleets and cities under the guise of spreading culture.
Windemerean are the good guys bringing freedom to the oppressed.
>best macross girl is non-canon
it's not fair.
>Mikumo is the most dead of them all. i bet she is related to the enemy
>killing the beautiful holo-purplehead
I watched II with some friends and we all started booing when the main character suddenly got together with the blonde military chick after talking to her maybe three times in the whole series.
And of course, here's where Zentradi really started having pointed ears
Why Delta's CG is so bad? Even GuP look better than this.
Keith Aero Windermere
19-year-old male ace pilot in the Kingdom of Wind's Valkyrie unit Aerial Knights. He possesses a high sense of chivalry.
20y/o. Commander of the Valkyrie Unit 'Aerial Knights' from the Kingdom of the Wind.
An intelligent young man with a suave personality who looks good in glasses.
He is apparently quite particular about his glasses.
16 y/o Member of the Valkyrie Unit 'Aerial Knights' from the Kingdom of the Wind.
Pilot. Has a twin brother who is also a member of the Aerial Knights.
People complaining about the transformations forget that that shit was around since DYRL.
It's called technological advancement, anon, they've had the technology to do that from way back in DYRL. What you are looking at is just an advancement of technology.
Seriously only an idiot wouldn't be able to realize that technology isn't static.
16 y/o. A pilot in the Kingdom of Wind's Aerial Knights. Compared to his twin brother Theo, Xao is more prone to fighting.
15 y/o. A pilot in the Kingdom of Wind's Aerial Knights. Mischievous in childhood, and grew up as the youngest child, surrounded by his older sisters.
>Muh magical transformations
>That technology has actually existed in the show from way back in the 80s.
>b-but it looks like magic.
That's how stupid you sound. Also they're idols of course they're going to make their change look extra flashy. But that doesn't change what it is.
And? In Frontier they had holographic dresses and such so they can make it look like anything they want. Just this time round they also have drones and such helping them out as well.
Now you are judging Delta on one epsiode. No one knows what direction it is going to take.
Don't you remember people saying Frontier was going to be set in a highschool all the time just after the first few eps aired?
Doesn't change the fact that it's still more of the idol show with robot.
Call it AKB0048 and nobody would bat an eye.
>Is this your first Macross?
No, why? I must be a newfaq if I don't like Love Live Delta?
The mecha and war was always the backdrop anon.
>No, why? I must be a newfaq if I don't like Love Live Delta?
I'm calling it like I'm seeing it, in Macross for longer running series you never see the love triangle in the first episode, that epiosode is just dedicated to introducing Main and important characters to the show as well as the general plot. So either this is your first Macross or you're just jumping to conclusions like a retard.
>There will never be a Macross in the same vein as 08th MS Team or Fang of the sun Dougram where the main character uses a Destroid
My heart forever remains heavy.
When will japanese sci-fi writers finally understand that mecha are fucking dumb and most people don't like them?
GuP sold much better than any new mecha series with robots since like 2010.
I enjoy how rookie her VA sounds. Very cute and endearing.
There are two type categories, Real Robot and Super Robot. If you don't know the difference then there's no hope for you.
FYI Macross essentially is making fun of the fact that "Real Robot" shows don't make any sense.
17 y/o. A blunt young man who says what he's thinking. He's traveled the Milky Way.
Mirage Farina Jenius
18 y/o.The only woman on the Delta Team. On the one hand she takes pride in her duties as a pilot, but on the other she is serious and inflexible. She shares the same family name with Max from the first Macross series, and the same middle name from Millia from the first series. Max and Millia had seven daughters with similar names.
24 y/o. The mood maker of the Delta Team. He's easily entertained, and no one is quicker to flirt with the ladies.
21 y/o. The ace pilot of the Delta Team. He's a professional who doesn't show much emotion, and is always the most calm and collected.
33 y/o.The leader of the Delta Team who can be both tolerant and strict. He can also be a reliable older-brother type.
40 y/o. Half Zentradi, half earthling captain of a Macross class-ship. He's easily taller than two meters.
As incessant as the AKB0048 comparisons are, Mikumo reminds me of Atsuko.
What is wrong with naming a planet Al Shahal? It means The Waterfall in arabic which is a pretty name, since "Terrans" have different cultures, each worthy of respect.
Also I think you need a lesson from Sheryl Nome in how to spread propaganda.
So are the idols genetically engineered for super powers in this series. The one purple haired chick seemed practically invincible and like she had no trouble hopping around and doing her thing in the midst of a shitstorm of explosions
>genetically engineered super idols
Seeing how idols were decisive in the three or four last major wars, I can totally see the military engineering a new generation of super idols.
I love a lot of older mecha anime but at this point I kind of don't know why they keep doing them because outside of the odd OVA or Movie like Gundam Unicorn or Origin they do not sell at all anymore really and a lot of the worst shows coming out lately are mecha anime. Maybe with a very heavy idol/music theme Delta can be the first one to sell over the 10K mark this decade but it'll need some clever packaging to do so.
Mikumo most likely is from the superior species or she is engineered.
>The vocalist of the tactical sound unit Walküre. A mysterious girl, of unknown age, whose history and private life are all shrouded in enigma.
No, what the fuck are you talking about?
There's two kinda of mecha shows.
1. Shows about robots beating the shit out of each other.
2. Shows that use robots beating the shit out of each other as a stage.
Macross is firmly in the second category.
Considering how some of the human pilots are I am pretty sure all humans have been genetically enhanced at some point making their offspring far more powerful than previous generations.
What do you prefer, /a/?
Gandumb or Aidorucross?
Am I the only one who can't tell the difference between VFs?
I think it's significantly harder to see their changes. When it comes to Gundam, each one has like a different face or at least have a unique function that helps make it easy to tell them apart. But when it comes to Macross, they all do the same general 3-step transformation and all go pew-pew-pew. Only the ace customs look really different and even then the biggest change is that they each shoot more lasers or carry more missiles (or in Basara's case have a face, now that's the kind of difference I'm talking about)
I'm saying this because I'm seeing people talk about them in this series as some sort of downgrade as like they all don't do the same thing anyway
Can you tell the difference between these tanks?
>FYI Macross essentially is making fun of the fact that "Real Robot" shows don't make any sense.
Pff what a delusional retard.
When the first Macross came out there weren't a whole lot of real robot shows. Heck Macross INSPIRED shit like Mech Warrior in the West, it's one of the fathers of the fucking genre if anything.
Sure later it degenerated into 90s stupidity just like Gundam but that wasn't the plan.
And the difference is unlike Gundam it can't write off the stupidity as easily so now they have to incorporate it into the canon.
I can see how Macross being a parody sounds logical to a F generation shitter though.
But just looking through a single of the original design files can show you how Macross is anything BUT a joke to the people that were making it. If anything there's more engineering that went into the designs for the original Macross than all of the other popular mecha anime at the time combined.
When did this word come into fashion again?
Please don't parrot tvtropes, it's embarrassing garbage, that makes you look as if you're incapable of formulating your thoughts yourself.
Macross in general doesn't emphasize VFs the way Gundam emphasizes mobile suits, even the mook suits. The Messiah's name is mentioned what, two or three times in all of Frontier? Gundam drops its suits names a lot more regularly to make them more recognizable to the audience.
>being this new
Macross came out in the 80s, by that point in time Gundam and Space Battleship Yamato were THE most popular mecha titles and were spawning off a lot of copycats (just because you don't hear about something doesn't mean that it doesn't exist).
If you've ever seen an interview about the creation of Macross then you'd know that the choices were influenced by the desire to subvert a lot of Gundam tropes. For instance the Zentradi were created to make a reason for the valkyries to be humanoid. And Hikaru sucking at piloting a valkyrie when he fell into the cockpit was specifically a take that against Amuro.
A long time ago, anon, if you don't know about it then it just goes to show how much of newfag you really are. Real robot are what the Japanese called shows like Gundam and Space Battleship Yamato.
Tv tropes never created the terms, they were already in use long before tv tropes even existed.
So he parodied real robots ... by making real robots more realistic.
I'm trying to gimps into the abyss of autistc logic with your post and to tell you the truth ... I can't.
Maybe you just don't know what parody means?
I'm not even him.
Anyone who responds to a friendly anon going out of his way to educate some newfag in a rude way spouting buzzwords should die in a fire.
Sage exists for a reason, use it.
Not every parody has to be humorous, Macross is very silly. But it's purpose was to point out just how stupid Gundam's logic was by actually being more logical than it.
Why have a giant humanoid robot unless you're fighting a humanoid enemy?
First off not the same as >>135624973
I'm not even acting like an expert just saying stuff that apparently newfags like you don't know about. No need to get mad about not knowing something. Especially when you can look it up yourself.
>I'm not even him.
"newfag" is not a term widely used anymore, therefore it's unlikely that two different people use the exact same term.
>Sage exists for a reason, use it.
I don't see a reason to use sage here.
Also, "sage" is spelled in all lowercase, "t b h" "newfag"-"kouhai".
The subject is the cultural discourse of mecha anime in Japan during the 1980s, how is being knowledgeable on that subject not weeb as fuck?
>First off not the same as
You are lying, read the first reply in this post.
He is explaining things to you. Why are you being a rude asshole?
Yes, this is a board for anime fans, and yes we are somewhat elitist. There is nothing wrong with that. Don't like it here? Leave.
>multiple anons call you the newfag that you are
>t-they must all be the same person.
I think that anon is one of those people that can't accept the idea of other people disagreeing with him.
So you don't know what parody means.
OK thanks for clearing that up.
An author thinking a genre is silly doesn't make a work he makes in the same genre a parody.
What he made - probably being used correctly for the first time on /a/ - is a >>135625265
So you'll ignore everything he said and say you hate people like him out of nowhere because he has knowledge on the subject.
I don't even agree with what that anon said, but you really should just fuck off.
>The subject is the cultural discourse of mecha anime in Japan during the 1980s, how is being knowledgeable on that subject not weeb as fuck?
Sounds like you don't know what weeaboo even means. Wouldn't surprise me is you also use "moeshit" to describe anime.
>I suspect the Jenius granddaughter will get macronized.
I don't care about genetically engineered AKB idol shit. I want giant space elves.
>So you'll ignore everything he said and say you hate people like him out of nowhere because he has knowledge on the subject
I have not addressed the subject itself, have I?
Really, people should just stop being so proud, this what you get when you don't let a minor jab slide.
Explain how it is retarded.
Maybe I'm just getting old, but I cringe every time I see people saying "newfag".
People use that word still, when did that come back?
>Explain how it is retarded.
>Explain how thinking newfag isn't in widespread use anymore is retarded
>Explain how it is retarded.
>Maybe I'm just getting old, but I cringe every time I see people saying "newfag".
Seems you don't come to /a/ much or are actually new. "newfag" is still the word used on /a/ while things like "normie" is looked at being from /r9k/.
>Seems you don't come to /a/ much or are actually new
It might just be cognitive dissonance, but it really feels like I haven't seen it being used in a long time.
>Why have a giant humanoid robot unless you're fighting a humanoid enemy?
That's really not a good excuse to have humanoid robots.
They will never make sense. They are just a dumb device to "humanize" the fights between big machines. When that's not necessary at all.
> 0048 Delta
All of my yes. The fight scenes better be as good as in 0048. Don't disappoint me, Kawamori.
This is as stupid as an humanized robot and you know it
>dumb device to "humanize" the fights between big machines
It's not dumb because it works. Even if it doesn't work for you, it works for the majority of people. Yes, there is no real-world benefit to humanoid robots, with a lot of drawbacks. You have to allow artistic license for the betterment of the narrative. As long as it doesn't break the suspension of disbelief for the intended audience there's no problem.
An example I like to use is internal narrative. In real life, internal monologue is abstract - you DO NOT think in words unless you are actively thinking about thinking in words. In a life-or-death situation, you do not think in words. But in fiction, we write the thoughts of the characters, for example overdubbing them in anime. To a psychologist, "[This] will never make sense. [This is] just a dumb device to "humanize" the fights. When that's not necessary at all."
Yeah, Why use giant humanoid robots when you can have tanks?
Star Wars literally uses samurai analogues to solve its conflicts. Pointing out that it doesn't use giant robots is like pointing out that Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares doesn't use giant robots.
It's true, if you read something stupid you don't think in your head "Oh, this is really stupid", you just have the abstract thought process of "ugh". It's only when you actively listen that you form words.
>Man, could you imagine the reception 7 would get on /a/ if it was airing now?
Seeing how 7 is fun, the same than Flamenco or any stupid fun show on /a/. Well liked.
There is a difference between stupid fun and AKB shitting all over the macross.
>Let me guess the enemy ace pilot is her brother.
She's a commoner slated to marry an apple merchant. He's the fucking prince of their planet.
I'm not saying it's impossible, but it's highly unlikely they're related.
>There is a difference between stupid fun and AKB shitting all over the macross.
How is this not stupid fun? You're just a butthurt fag who gets triggered by idols
People are comparing to AKB0048 not because of the idol group but because of the show itself
>There is a difference between stupid fun and AKB shitting all over the macross.
This is a retarded thing to say from someone who didn't watch 0048 and obviously doesn't understand the comparisons.
>humanoid robots in space
yeah, because you're totally going to create a humanoid robot for an environment that does not need it. retard
If you can't see the difference between a pacifist doing a rock battle against a giantess on top of a mountain and the same cutesy moe predigested idol group shown in every moe idol anime these past six years doing cute things to pander to retards, then I can't help you.
This is not your average anime idol.
Doesn't this show have way too many characters? It's going to end with VVV with everyone in the cast remaining a one dimensional cartoon. Then again, the show has one episode and it already has some of the oldest tropes in the book. Flat kuudere and "big boob ara-ara oneesan"? What the fuck, man. And the hot-blooded murderous enemy pilot and his buttbuddy the "smart glasses guy"; straight out of the boy band squad clowns from VVV.
What I see in Delta are brave women using their talent to save people from from an insidious infection and minimize casualties. They trained in the use of technology and tactics to achieve this.
not really, a quadruped form would be capable of auto correcting balancing issues and scaling environments normal tanks would not. not that some unimaginable cunt like yourself would realize the obvious.
If you honestly think there's some fundamental difference between a rock battle on top of a mountain and idols singing and fighting in jets, you might be overly obsessed with masculinity.
Yeah for legacy franchises like Gundam, Macross, Geass etc. maybe. The only one to have any consistent success with the genre of late has been Sunrise/BNP. Hell Gundam Unicorn alone has probably outsold every other mecha anime this decade so far combined, but that's Gundam.
Man Bandai couldn't wait to plug the designs for the new Valkyrie's and put some Chogokins up for sale. The commercial is at the end of the bloody preview episode even.
Drones did most of the work. The scene right after the debris cleared showed it was the drones that moved all the rubble out of the way. The drones probably also stopped her getting blown apart in the blast before hand as well.
This show looks like it's going to be to idols what Girls und Panzer is to Yamato Nadeshikos. Not surprising since it's Bandai Visual who is on a lets make military shows about hot blooded cute girls doing hot blooded things tear in the 2010s.
She seems to be controlling them like they're bits from Gundam or something? Maybe she's the Macross equivalent of a Newtype. I remember Plus had that Valkyrie that Guld could control with just his thoughts as well.
Ideon called and wants it's visual cue back
I know, but I can't help it.
I like you.
>the only money being made in contemporary mecha is by legacy franchises like these two that haven't put out a TV show yet this decade
You see how that logic makes no sense? You think Cross Ange, Gargantia, MJP, Valvrave, A/Z, Star Driver, Evol, Fafner, all flopped or something?
What do you think about Kotetsujo no Kabaneri? It has the Macross designer, Haruhiko Mikimoto.
>I can already not deal with her losing
She's 14, the competition is 18,she will lose.
Kawamori already pulled the no one wins card.
He already pulled the Millia Jenius doesn't win card too.
The outcome is more predictable than Aquarion's.
Like the fact that he's back, unfortunately with the rest of the staff involved it's almost a guaranteed clusterfuck of style over substance bullshit that ruins the fun by taking itself far to seriously and is going to continue the laughing stock that is the current Sony-centric noitaminA.
I can actually see Freyja winning here in a way I couldn't with Ranka or Minmay, because she seems like a good foil for Hayate. But then again, Mirage has potential for that too because if I remember correctly her profile mentions she takes her job as a pilot very seriously.
Anyways I don't expect this triangle to be as intense as Frontier's.
Mirage is a big piece of nothing so far.
Sheryl was a turbocunt at the beginning until the date episode where she completely define herself as more than meet the eyes.
>I can actually see Freyja winning
14, not happening, ever. It's like with green hair.
Do you think they'll pull a Jin/Yunoha again on us with Delta?
You mean another Michel/Klan where the relationship is introduced just to kill off the guy to milk drama for the sake of drama? It's Kawamori mo to shit up stuff like this.
This show is, in some way, Yuri against BL.
There are too much yuri-BL lovers what hates to see heterosexual relationship.
People would rage as fuck. It's a forbidden love.
At least Michel dying protecting the woman he loved. Shrade died like a bitch for a retarded reason and Jin was killed for cheap drama.
>People would rage as fuck. It's a forbidden lov
Macross needs more incest.
>At least Michel dying protecting the woman he loved
Drama for the sake of drama.
Was victim to utterly shit writing.
It's canon, and they can't stop it.
>they aren't listening to his song
Actually Kawamori said he didn't want to focus on triangles too much this time, but the guy in charge of the series composition also teased fans about the great number of different types of triangles that could form in Delta. So, yeah.
Kawamori also said this is a character-driven story where the three groups' interactions is what will move the plot forward. I'm interested in how they will make both factions interact outside their cockpits.
yea in a world with laser gun and plama cannon.. a big target to destroy... fuking scumbag go and learn why German nazi don't make a rattle or why the maus is the worst tank in the history..
>Kawamori pointed out that the delta symbol in the logo is made of triangular symbols, to symbolize the three main thematic elements of Macross: music, a love triangle, and transforming fighter planes. However, he noted that the two symbols are split, and explained that this is indicative that the three elements will not come together as expected in the new story.
Delta also symbolizes change. Deepest lore.
I haven't actually, that shit was still dumb. Do the others have idols flipping around battle fields with funnels, tanking shots to the face, thruster skirts and everyone dancing in a burning city surrounded by dead bodies?
Am actually just downloading it. I also bought plus on dvd ages ago and never got around to it
The cutest one
That's what I thought.
What levels of magic powers do the other get from the singing? Cause the impression I got was it is really good at reaching out to people, not like straight up magical girl powers with sparkles that a blast of heals you
>What levels of magic powers do the other get from the singing?
Varies between stuff.
SDF was culture shock to other guys (if memory serves, been a long time) whereas in the latest MacFrontier it's a typical morale boost and communicating with a hivemind species.
Okay. I prob should clarify I'm not saying magic is bad, just here it felt oddly handled against the backdrop and I wasn't quite prepared for straight up magical girls
>romance tag in MAL
>bunch of girls
>no sign of dicks
>no yuri tag
Why is Plus always ignored?
That or its just a normal concert
Well, the more legs you add the more balance it gets. If you look at nature quads is the standard for larger ones while 6 to more are for insects. We bipeds have our advantages but necessarily if we upsize us.
I guess, but it's a moderate success from ten years ago with a moderately successful movie five years ago. It's not Gundam. Aquarion's also technically a legacy franchise, but I don't think anyone's going to try to discount Evol's success because of that.
>bland, stock genki main girl "who just wants to sing"
>bland, stock "serious pilot who can't socialize"
>MC is just another disinterested dude with no dreams of his own
>other than the Sheryl-expy, the idols are all the most boring possible stereotypes: "flat kuudere", "ara ara oneesan with big boobs" and "fiery tomboy"
>villains are Valvrave-tier bishounen boy band squad
People will defend this garbage.
>The main series did not age well...turns out dressing up robots and crossdressing zentraedis are not as fun as they were in the 80's
Says you. SDF is my favorite Macross show.
But that's not Ranka's best pairing
