Doesn't seem to have a big selection of characters and you have to be kinda specific with what poses work.

Yeah, this thing needs to expand the library of media it has.

They could refine shit by letting people add tags or confirm tags that are predicted.

This is interesting because it got some good ones like "gauntlets" and "mask" and "blunt bangs," but it also said "stuffed toy." The reason I find "stuffed toy" interesting is because Kate is frequently pictured with a stuffed animal, but not in this picture. But anon, we are the shitposting AI.
>>
>>135602069
Don't listen to this faggot. >>135602034

The software uses a convolutional neural network to generate the tags.

Basically the creators feed the system a shit ton of images and their associated tags, probably scraped from the boorus, and it learned how to identify those tags based off of those images.

This is why >>135601967 had the stuffed animal tag. The software does not actually know what a "stuffed animal" is, but does know that pictures of Kate tend to also have this tag.

Not him, but the person who made the claim can be either one of you depending on how you phrase your statements.

Burden of proof belongs to both parties. If you don't care enough to have evidence to support your opinion, you shouldn't speak. Even if your opinion is right, unless you came to that opinion with a clear and rational method, you're just a broken clock that's displaying the right time by sheer coincidence.

Apparently they can't teach you logic. There's a reason scientists and researchers document and publish their work even if the work confirms or matches up with already preconceived beliefs.

Always be prepared to provide evidence to support your stance in an argument. Urging the person you're with to do the legwork while you do nothing is arrogant and typically the stance of people who didn't actually know what they were talking about in the first place.

I'm having fun with this,
>>
>>135602646
>You: Invisible dragons don't exist

>You: Nu uh, you prove they do exist first

Do you understand now what I meant about it mattering how you phrase the statements. Whether something is a positive claim or a negative claim all boils down to language, and insisting that the burden of proof lies with the person making a claim is hogwash.

>>135602723
Apparently I have a more refined concept of burden of proof. I don't get on a soapbox and act like I'm above proving my opinion if proof can be provided. I don't ignorantly assert an opinion without at least the desire to explain myself.

Don't be ignorant.

>>135602784
You've almost got it. Anyone can make a claim and that claim can be positive or negative. Only the claims that can be supported with evidence should be taken seriously. Who puts the claim (positive or negative) out there is irrelevant. If you care enough to have an opinion about it, you should care enough to make sure through your own effort that your opinion is correct. Burden of proof lies with everyone interested in the truth. Whether you feel like expressing that truth to other people is your prerogative, but what you don't get to do is act like you're correct without backing it up.

So two people making contradictory statements is the same as two people making two positive claims. In order to be in an argument you have to make a stance, and for that stance to be valid there needs to be proof. Since it's not your responsibility to prove they're wrong, it's your responsibility to prove you're right. No matter what kind of bullshit the other person may be saying, if you want to participate in the argument you need to provide evidence that backs up YOUR claim; even if your claim is just the complete opposite of nonsense.

Behaving like you don't need to provide evidence is incorrect. Insisting other people should provide proof while you don't is the hidey hole of ignorant cunts.

>In order to be in an argument you have to make a stance
>it's not your responsibility to prove they're wrong, it's your responsibility to prove you're right
I'm not trained in philosophy but I never heard of both of these definitions so I assume they're your made up headcanon. You can "be in an argument" without taking a stance, as in you can participate in a conversation without making positive claims, and it's quite easy to do. For instance if someone says "spirits are real", and you respond "how do you know that?". You didn't make any positive claim, you simply asked a question and in doing so implicitly shifted the burden of proof onto the other guy. Rumor has it that socrates liked doing just that, asking a lot of questions while never making any positive claims of his own which made it very frustrating for the people he was talking with because they could never get him to make claims that are wrong.

>"spirits are real", and you respond "how do you know that?"
Voicing an objection or a question to prompt someone to explain their opinion carries with it the implicit statement that you disagree, which you just conceded is the same as making a positive claim of your own. As I said before, participating in the argument means taking a stance. Even if the stance you take is not necessarily the stance you believe in, a stance was made that the original person now has to respond to as if that stance you made was legitimate and opposing.

tl;dr: The fastest way to prove someone wrong is by proving yourself right, not playing devil's advocate and waiting for them to weasel out of it.

That's wrong, you could be asking someone to prove something that you also know is right just to see if they know the proof. Do you not understand what asking a question is? Do you think questions are inherently antagonistic?

>The fastest way to prove someone wrong is by proving yourself right
This is also very wrong. The main and best way to prove someone wrong is to genuinely make them understand the flaws of their own logic. If you manage to prove a contrary position that only creates a contradiction, someone might agree with what you said but also still agree with what they believe.

>you could be asking someone to prove something that you also know is right just to see if they know the proof
Which is taking the stance of devil's advocate and asking them to respond as if you disagree.

ACTING like you don't have a dissenting opinion (which is what compelled you to ask them to explain themselves in the first place) in order to escape the responsibility of explaining your own opinion that contradicts theirs is the problem I was trying to illustrate to you.

Stop behaving like other people should have to prove themselves while you don't.

>The main and best way to prove someone wrong is to genuinely make them understand the flaws of their own logic.
First of all, I didn't say it was always going to be the best way. I said it was the fastest way. Please read more carefully.

Secondly, very often providing clear cut evidence why they are wrong is the best way for them to understand the flaws in their own logic. Trying to coach someone through understanding something on their own is an enormous waste of time; especially on a fucking imageboard.

If you don't care enough to prove your own opinion right, obviously you shouldn't speak. If you can't be bothered to provide evidence that supports your opinion, it's very likely you don't have any and shouldn't speak.

This is 100% your assumption, you can ask a question for any number of reasons. It's also 100% irrelevant to burden of proof because what your stance is irrelevant, only what you said. I could even explicitly tell you that I hold a contrary position to a claim you made or you could know this about me because you knew my personal beliefs before you made the claim and it still wouldn't make any difference as far as burden of proof in concerned. Burden of proof lies with whoever is making the claim, and it is so for one main purpose which is to force people to have to prove dumb shit they're claiming instead of dumping the responsibility onto the other party and making them disprove the claim which is ironically the very laziness you're speaking against.

We can sum burden of proof into two statements which I'm sure you'll agree with. 1: you should absolutely always have to back up what you say and 2: you shouldn't force someone to have to back up things they haven't said, but do believe in.

>Burden of proof lies with whoever is making the claim
So in your retarded head as long as you never say anything explicitly you can never be proven wrong or be asked to provide proof. OK bud.

>1: you should absolutely always have to back up what you say
Of course.
>2: you shouldn't force someone to have to back up things they haven't said, but do believe in.
Hahaha fucking what? Listen. I don't go around asking people questions I don't care to know the answers to. If you're prompting people to provide proof it means you have expressed a stance and you've made the opposing claim. Whether you believe in that claim personally is irrelevant. Voicing the question IS injecting yourself into the argument. Questioning someone's opinion is for all intents and purposed of an argument taking the opposing viewpoint. Logically if you agreed you would not feel compelled to question their validity.

Get your head out of your ass. Acknowledge that burden of proof lies with anyone interested in the truth. If you don't care to know the truth, that's your business, but keep it to yourself. Don't behave like other people are wrong without being able to provide evidence why you're right. You are not automatically assumed to be correct regardless of when you decided to utter your shit heel opinions (initial claim, opposing claim, etc).

Back your shit up. Participate in the argument and work towards finishing it or don't say anything at all.

>as long as you never say anything explicitly you can never be proven wrong or be asked to provide proof
How would you even prove me wrong if I haven't said anything you autistic fuck? I can hate your guts and want to murder you and you can be a psychic mind reader and know this but you can't call the cops on me as long as I haven't made any threats, can't you? I have many more great analogies coming.

>If you're prompting people to provide proof it means you have expressed a stance and you've made the opposing claim.
We've been over this but seeing as how I'm so fucking unlazy and philosophically generous I'll do you the courtesy of rephrasing my previous post regarding the relevance of stances: they don't matter. In an argument you primarily address what is said, not what the other person's stance is. Sometimes in an argument you can tell that the other person is driven by a retarded agenda or emotional reasons. You see from the way they talk that they're just using the argument to justify being able to do or say something that they wanted to do, but if you call them out on being racist or emotional or whatever they'll just deny it. Philosophers all around the world acknowledged this phenomena and burden of proof exists to help us argue and reach the truth with one another in spite of it. By agreeing to abide by burned of proof we turn the pursuit of truth into a sort of sick game with strict rules where winning is more important than reaching the truth, and it's important that we do so. It's of vital importance that I maintain the privilege of forcing someone to squirm through their internal contradictions while I remain safe in the comfort of my basement because I haven't technically made any positive claims.

Your heart is in the right place, in many ways you remind me of my former self, but it just ain't going to cut it in the mean ol world of internet imageboard discussions.

There's a fuckload of Touhou art out there.

If they started the network by feeding it a large amount of randomly selected pictures, the largest copyright tag is probably going to be Touhou.

So if it started off using the Touhou tag more than the others, it'll keep doing that until it learns better.

/tg/ had good threads for a while about a guy who built one to make cards for MTG.

At first the cards were clunky or just didn't function with in the rules of the game at all. Over time, as the network learned, the quality of the cards it makes now is better than what the actual company is putting out.

>How would you even prove me wrong if I haven't said anything you autistic fuck?
How can you think you're correct if you're too terrified to make a claim; a claim by the way you're extremely confident in?

>the relevance of stances: they don't matter.
That's the fundamental principle of an argument. You're talking out of your ass.
>In an argument you primarily address what is said, not what the other person's stance is
It's assumed in almost all direct communication that what someone says is the stance they believe in. You're talking out of your ass.

>Sometimes in an argument you can tell that the other person is driven by a retarded agenda or emotional reasons. You see from the way they talk that they're just using the argument to justify being able to do or say something that they wanted to do, but if you call them out on being racist or emotional or whatever they'll just deny it
Is this not also a convenient way to dismiss someone's opinion if it differs from your own? Assume they're incorrect for reasons separate from the argument itself.

>By agreeing to abide by burned of proof we turn the pursuit of truth into a sort of sick game with strict rules where winning is more important than reaching the truth
Not only is this wrong but it's stupid.

If you claim the sky is green, and I think the sky is blue, the best way to resolve this discrepancy is for me to simply prove the sky is blue.
If you claim the sky is blue, and I think the sky is green, the best way to resolve the discrepancy is for me to simply prove the sky is green (which can be more difficult).

If you think you are correct then the burden of proof lies with you. Acting like you're not actually disagreeing with someone is not some sort of philosophical mindfuck. It's cowardly and lazy. You deserve to have all of your opinions dismissed if you only wait for an opportune moment to imply a hint of an opinion just to make sure you have a handy dandy escape route.

People seem really confused how this thing works.

It took 1,287,596 images from danbooru and safebooru and the tags associated with each. It analised the pixels to collect a model that contains information regarding certain collections of pixels. These are compared and it finds the closest most actuate tag that represents these pixels. There is no outside information going in, the information does not learn at this point and instead will need to be further trained later to be more accurate.

The paper is very interesting http://illustration2vec.net/papers/illustration2vec-main.pdf

>How can you think you're correct if you're too terrified to make a claim
For many reasons.

>That's the fundamental principle of an argument.
It's assumed in almost all direct communication that what someone says is the stance they believe in.
Your personal stance on an issue is irrelevant, you could be temporarily assuming a stance that you don't truly believe in for the sake of argument, and for the sake of that argument I'll pretend this is what you believe. What if for instance you claimed you can argue from a position we both don't believe in better than I can argue against it, and I dared you prove you wrong?

>Is this not also a convenient way to dismiss someone's opinion if it differs from your own
Yet another reason why it's important to address the content of someone's argument rather than what you perceive their personal beliefs to be.

>If you claim the sky is green, and I think the sky is blue, the best way to resolve this discrepancy is for me to simply prove the sky is blue.
Such a pure soul. Not only are you still wrong for thinking arguing your position is a better way(or faster) of resolving disagreements than showing the flaws in your opponent's reasoning (which is the only way to truly refute something), you're also completely ignoring the main point of my last two posts which that the assumption that both parties in an argument are interested in the pursuit of truth is almost always wrong. If you address anything in my post let it be this: people are uncooperative as fuck and have a very selfish attitude about the pursuit of truth. Most men don't have the maturity necessary to being able to put their emotions aside and objectively seek the truth. We use burden of proof to pressure people to have to defend certain claims so that they could overcome their reluctance to do so, otherwise nobody would have to prove anything!

In the future when you talk out of your ass you should avoid using absolute statements like this. They betray your ignorance.
>Most men don't have the maturity necessary to being able to put their emotions aside and objectively seek the truth
Most men also have trouble admitting when they're wrong.
>We use burden of proof to pressure people to have to defend certain claims so that they could overcome their reluctance to do so, otherwise nobody would have to prove anything!
>overcome their reluctance to do so
You do realize that hiding behind the concept of "other people need to prove stuff and I don't" IS RELUCTANCE TO DEFEND THEIR CLAIM

You are describing your own behavior. This means either you should be practicing what you preach, or your working theory of why the burden of proof exists is false.

If you get in an argument and refute someone's claim, be prepared to back up why you refuted them in the first place because that act itself is making a claim. You can weasel around as much as you want but that fact cannot be denied. Whether your heart is in it is irrelevant, whether you're playing devil's advocate is irrelevant. If you're part of the argument, even if you think all you're doing is innocently asking questions, you need to be prepared to provide evidence to support your line of thinking.

What an ignorant shit head you are. Literally defending the idea that everyone else has to prove themselves and you don't.

>Most men also have trouble admitting when they're wrong.
Which is also part of why we enjoy creating strict rules to determine when someone's wrong so that they'll be forced to accept it with no whining. Burden of proof being one such rule.

>You do realize that hiding behind the concept of "other people need to prove stuff and I don't" IS RELUCTANCE TO DEFEND THEIR CLAIM
It's not hiding. If someone is making a claim out of the blue it's not my fucking job to prove them wrong. If they lack the mental energy to explain why they're right they should've kept their mouth shut and not made it in the first place. Burden of proof is a perfectly reasonable policy and the alternative to abiding by it is dumping the responsibility of having to defend your claims, the very sin you accuse me of. I bet you never expected this apparent irony to turn into double irony to bite you in the ass, did you?

>If you get in an argument and refute someone's claim, be prepared to back up why you refuted them in the first place because that act itself is making a claim.
Now I never said that refuting someone doesn't involve making claims of your own, don't put words in my mouth please. Refuting definitely involved exploring your opponents reasoning and using their own logic to show it's root flaws.

That said merely asking a question doesn't involve me in the argument any more than normally asking a question would involve you in a normal conversation, nor does it imply any implications about my possibly holding a contrary position to the subject of the question. I know this is hard to accept but if I ask you a question and you have to retort by attacking my imaginary contrary position it just means your shit is weak.

>If someone is making a claim out of the blue it's not my fucking job to prove them wrong
This is it. This is the tipping point.

If you don't care enough to prove them wrong, THEN SHUT THE FUCK UP. If they couldn't be bothered to prove themselves right they they also should have shut the fuck up.

>It's not hiding.
Yes, it is. If you can prove someone wrong and correct their incorrect opinion, do it. Standing around for 2 hours with your nose in the air does not educate them. It does not end the argument. It does not fix the problem. It allows them to remain ignorant unless they choose to educate themselves, but you need to remember that if they were interested in educating themselves they wouldn't have an ignorant opinion in the first place.

>Burden of proof is a perfectly reasonable policy and the alternative to abiding by it is dumping the responsibility of having to defend your claims, the very sin you accuse me of
Burden of proof the way you see it is an excuse for people to dismiss the opinions of others without having to investigate their own opinions. It propagates ignorance under the guise of seeking the truth.

>the very sin you accuse me of. I bet you never expected this apparent irony to turn into double irony to bite you in the ass, did you?
You seem to be mistaking me for someone else. We're talking about the burden of proof. Not whatever argument you were having with someone asking you for proof. Do you have the memory of a goldfish?

>Now I never said that refuting someone doesn't involve making claims of your own, don't put words in my mouth please
You really need me to scroll up and look for all the instances where you tried to back pedal and imply asking innocent little questions wasn't making a claim - no actual opinion was stated explicitly so no claim was made and therefore no evidence can be expected of me na na na boo boo.

In the context of your argument you were not asking innocent questions. You were demanding proof.

>If you don't care enough to prove them wrong, THEN SHUT THE FUCK UP.
It's impossible to prove a negative, hence why burden of proof is invoked. You're slowly starting to agree with me but your petty ego won't allow you to accept it.

>If they couldn't be bothered to prove themselves right they they also should have shut the fuck up.
Telling this to someone is essentially invoking burden of proof, an act which you previously deemed cowardly because you should instead be trying to prove yourself right (even when it's not possible) instead of asking someone to prove themselves right. That's kind of the whole point of the concept of burden of proof, to break that stalemate when both sides think it's the other person's job to prove themselves right.

>Burden of proof the way you see it is an excuse for people to dismiss the opinions of others without having to investigate their own opinions.
This isn't the idea of burden of proof described above.

>You really need me to scroll up and look for all the instances where you tried to back pedal and imply asking innocent little questions wasn't making a claim - no actual opinion was stated explicitly so no claim was made and therefore no evidence can be expected of me na na na boo boo.
You really seem to be having a hard time understanding what making a claim is. Asking a question is never making a claim, regardless of what hidden or unhidden motive you have behind it. Having a personal belief is never making a claim. The technical, and only, definition of making a claim, is the one you can find in most dictionaries, usually resembling something like "state or assert that something is the case" When talking about burden of proof we use that definition because a person can't be "burdened" by having to prove anything without having said anything, as that would be quite rude.

>It's impossible to prove a negative
Whether something is negative or positive depends on how you phrase it which is the point I made in my first or second post and it was hastily ignored by you.

>That's kind of the whole point of the concept of burden of proof, to break that stalemate
A stalemate only exists when both parties ignorantly believe they should not have to prove anything. Insisting you are correct in believing you don't have to prove anything and they are not is THE EXACT SAME THING THEY ARE DOING TO YOU. Hence the stalemate. You are no better than they are. Burden of proof lies with anyone who thinks they are correct.

>This isn't the idea of burden of proof described above.
I've summarized your understanding of what the burden of proof is and painted you a picture of how it's ineffective at actually resolving arguments. It just creates new arguments. "I don't have to prove myself! You do!" and they say the exact same thing and nobody gets anywhere. Take the initiative if you want to take the intellectual high ground. Either prove yourself right, or prove them wrong. Easy peasy if you know what you're talking about.

>Asking a question is never making a claim
100% incorrect.
>Having a personal belief is never making a claim
It is when it compels you to start challenging other people.

>without having said anything
When you ask a question, especially in this context, you are saying something. Still trying to slither out away from this because it shreds your idea to ribbons. You need to understand that when you were saying "NO YOU PROVE IT" you were not asking him a question, you were straight up saying you disagree with him and you want him to be humiliated.

This conversation between us would have never occurred if you didn't demand HIM to prove he's right when you were simultaneously not proving yourself right or him wrong. If you think you're right, prove it. If you don't care, then keep quiet.

In your mind you think the burden of proof is cut and dry.

You fail to recognize you will naturally attempt to do cartwheels in your mind to ultimately decide the burden of proof rests with whomever you're arguing with.

You fail to acknowledge that the burden of proof only rests on one side in very strict conditions where there's already an established correct answer.

The first step is to then provide proof that your opinion lines up or agrees with the established correct answer. THEN the burden of proof rests solely with the other person. But you see you still have to clearly state your opinion in order to realistically expect others to prove themselves at all. On top of that you still have to prove the established status quo exists and explain why it's established in many cases.

Blasting out accusations that other people need to prove themselves and you don't is absolutely not the correct way to argue.

Ah, you're right. In order to figure out there's a contradictory set you can work backwards, in asking whether the structure of an argument works even though it would normally be a paradox, as it might just be that the thing you're arguing for, while the argument is from a certain point forward sound, yet still impossible at the foundation.

Those anonymous fellows might be experiencing that same phenomenon right now. That would be a sort of tragic irony, with all the time wasted on such a thing.

>hastily ignored by you.
I think you're the one that ignored it as evidenced by

>A stalemate only exists when both parties ignorantly believe they should not have to prove anything.
this blatantly wrong statement. A stalemate very well exist when both parties shift the responsibility of having to back their claims to the other person, but can also exist when one asks the other to prove something they claimed while the other is asked to prove a negative of that claim, resulting in exactly the kind of situation that burden of proof was invented to combat.

"I don't have to prove myself! You do!" and they say the exact same thing and nobody gets anywhere. Take the initiative if you want to take the intellectual high ground.
There are times when it's impossible to prove a negative, hence taking the initiative amounts to having to explain the concept of burden of proof.

>100% incorrect.
Retarded as fuck. I, being cooperative and compliant as fuck, literally copy pasted a dictionary definition of "claim", demonstrating that asking a question doesn't count as claiming, yet you still stubbornly ignore it while providing nothing else to the discussion.

>It is when it compels you to start challenging other people.
That's dumb as fuck. Having a personal belief can indirectly influence me and cause me to make claims. It's never a claim in itself.

>When you ask a question, especially in this context, you are saying something
This is the main source of disagreement between us. I believe we share similar values in regards to intellectual laziness and the responsibility of having to own up to your statements, but we disagree about what constitutes a statement (and thus requires owning up to). I'll address this in greater detail in another post.

>but we disagree about what constitutes a statement (and thus requires owning up to)
Asking someone questions and challenging their opinion is only something you would do when you doubt their opinion. You would only doubt their opinion when you believe otherwise. You would only feel compelled to play the devil's advocate if you believed they did not reach their conclusion through the correct means. IN ANY CASE the question carries with it the implicit disagreement. The implicit disagreement is making an opposing claim. Even if you're not directly claiming the opposite you are at the very least claiming he is wrong. Your inability to prove he's wrong does not mean you are somehow exempt from proving you are right.

>I believe X is true.
>Are you sure? Can you prove it? Do you have any evidence to back that up?

Do you see how these questions are not benign? They are prompting him to provide proof.

>I believe we share similar values in regards to intellectual laziness and the responsibility of having to own up to your statements,
We really don't. If you're in an argument with someone you're making statements. When you're challenging someone's opinions, every question you ask is a claim that you think otherwise. In order to be a rational person you need to be able to back up what you claim, or in this case give your version of the correct answer to the questions you ask.

>Are you sure the sky is green? (Because I think it's blue and I'm willing to prove it.)
This is perfectly fine. A little stupid because you can just prove he's wrong right then and there but whatever.

>Are you sure the sky is green? (Because I think it's blue but I won't prove it to you.)
This is what you're defending. You're still making claims because you still have opinions. You express those opinions with every question you choose to ask.

It's real simple, man. The next time you get the kneejerk reaction to yell "nu uh you prove it", consider proving yourself right for once.

Definitely avoid the homotopy type theory book for a while then, it's a very advanced book.

I'm coming more from a CS perspective, but [1] was a good resource. There's another book about Coq at [2] and a book about the underlying concept at [3]

All of this is about type theory, which is not that common in 'common' math. It shows up a lot in category theory [4].

As introductory texts about category theory and algebra I've heard good things about [5,6], but I haven't read them myself.

I do recommend looking up foundations though. A lot of reasons why I find all this stuff beautiful is because it abstracts over a lot of 'ugliness' in common approaches.

Wow man, thanks so much. This is incredibly helpful, which is both rare and refreshing. The reason I enjoy math is less for engineering or practical physical use, and more for the philosophical insight it gives with regards to abstraction and the construction of ideas. I've not done any in-depth study to CS since the Uni I go to has a cutthroat program and I've not found myself talented in that aspect, but these resources and materials are always great. I really appreciate this, so thanks man.

It's actually possible to ask someone to prove a claim while being open to the possibility that they might have proof for it. It's only when you ask someone to prove their claims in such a manner that you reveal the fact that you think there's no way they have proof (such as if you arrogantly ask someone to prove that dragons exist) that you might be asked to prove why you think that no such proof might exist, that is to prove that something is impossible, which is obviously tricky. That being said, I see no problem with with asking someone to prove that the sky is green (while having good proof that it's blue) if you think it has merit.
