Who is your favorite seiyuu?
And why is it Sumipe?
I guess Aoi is an exception. She was pretty cute as a kid.
I did that collage. Nice to see someone else saved it.
You mean the show that is featuring pretty much the same main cast as every other moe moe show in the last year or so. Seriously it feels like every other show has Maaya Uchida, Sumire Uesaka and Saori Hayami getting pushed in them and only the last one has really proven herself. I thought Sora Amamiya is bad but man especially Uesaka is looking to surpass her lately in the just okay but apparently needs to be cast as the lead in virtually everything category. I swear to go I had no fucking idea who she was even a year ago either.
I'm pretty sure it's more than that at some point. She's gotta be sleeping with somebody or has a major in with some big producer somewhere at the very least. You don't suddenly go from pretty much entirely unknown to the lead in virtually everything in like a little over 6 months and not have questions start to get asked.
I think her interest in Russia has something to do with it. They have a pretty significant otaku scene that most people tend to ignore. She embraced it and they embraced her back.
Sumipe is marketable, an otaku, and a pretty good actor.
She can voice rings around Sora Amamiya.
I really don't think that's it. That's been known about since the days of the GuP TV series, she's just suddenly like one of the top cast seiyuu. At least with Amamiya we knew it was just Sony aggressively pushing their home grown idol. I'm pretty sure she's not the only one that seems to be just skipping past the whole build up a resume and going straight to main roles and promotions, but she's definitely been among the most noticeable. It seems to have something to do with the whole ACJ Daisuki initiative, I notice she's been in a ton of shows affiliated with it.
Ayane Sakura has been getting pushed to ridiculous extents lately but at least she worked her way up the traditional way. I don't know, it'll be curious to see where Uesaka is in the coming years. I don't mind her or anything, I just find her sudden relevance perplexing given that she just seems okay at best.
Probably. But she occasionally uploads pictures with very light make-up and she looks really cute too. This is from New Years.
I suppose I should add it's starting to feel like a lot of shows have virtually the exact same cast as well be it a B-list type one and done plugger show by a small studio or a Triple A Aniplex/Bandai type promotion. Suddenly a lot of my favorites from even a year or two ago seem to have almost vanished off the fact of the Earth as well, it's like the cycle of rises and disappearance of popular seiyuu has almost sped up.
Unless your agency is pushing you to be the next big thing so much that you're churning out singles every now and then so eventually you have live concerts and radio programs, seiyuu really isn't a lucrative job.
She's suddenly in a lot of shit nowadays too so I can't say that's true:
Food Wars: Shokugeki no Soma: Erina Nakiri
Gate: Jieitai Kanochi nite, Kaku Tatakaeri: Rory Mercury
Gochūmon wa Usagi Desu ka??: Rize Tedeza
Hello!! Kin-iro Mosaic: Aya Komichi
High School DxD BorN: Xenovia
Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?: Riveria Ljos Alf
Kantai Collection: Nachi, Ashigara, Haguro
Log Horizon 2: Sejin
Ninja Slayer From Animation: Dragon Yukano
Sky Wizards Academy: Julie Frostor
The Rolling Girls: Ai Hibiki
Ultimate Otaku Teacher: Matome Nishikujou
Utawarerumono: Itsuwari no Kamen: Kuon
Fate/Grand Order: Shielder, Mata Hari (Assassin), Marie Antonette (Rider)
Utawarerumono: Itsuwari no kamen: Kuon
I notice when you get Uchida, Taneda, Uesaka, Hayami, Aoi, Sakura nowadays a lot of them time it seems like they all come as some sort of package deal. If you get one of them you get all of them for your show or game or at least it seems that way.
While her mother is a musician, singing live is hardly part of Hayamin pedigree as a seiyuu.
Her career as a solo singer has barely started, much like Aoi Yuuki she will probably need a good three/four years until she gets comfortable with live performances. Aoi improved at an astounding rate going with her most recent live.
I still haven't updated this since like halfway through Danmachi
They've been doing the character song special for the Christmas/New Year's week of her radio show for years. She hasn't been releasing things purely in her own name but singing has definitely been a significant part of her resume.
Anyways Aoi Saori is a very common combo and Ayane Aoi happens a lot as well, besides the obvious petit milady. Occasionally you get combinations of that like KoiUta or whatever.
Maaya Uchida is just literally fucking everywhere these days really as has been Kayanon for a while.
Admittedly, I am not an expert on Hayamin, most of what I know is from Shinbangumi.
Isn't she fairly inexperienced when it comes to singing live, on a stage? Recording character songs on a studio is a thing, and singing while on a stage while keeping your breath and being dynamic on the stage is another matter entirely.
It is just industry shift, they try to cast more midtier seiyuu in lead roles because the toptier is expensive and too much risk with newcomer and nobody, Sumipe has played several lead roles back then too but not that many, unlike Amamiya who suddenly plays so many lead roles since 2014 eventhough she has no lead role at all before that and only debuted in 2012, not to mention all that hype shows she got because of Sony. Also I think it won't last for the whole year unlike GoriMiya who seems always got lead roles everyseason since Sony start their shilling.
I've started watching Tokyo Encounter, Sugita and Nakamura best bromance.
She's actually a top level interrogator at the FSB. Putin and her are good friends and he's planning on throwing her name in the next presidential race.
Which video did you watch? Her convention live deserve standing applause, nobody sing like that in seiyuu industry. And she has released her debut single in 2015 if you never pay attention.
Unfortunately I don't remember.
I still play "Kimi o Omou Toki" at least once a day, though.
You must choose three, and only three, roles of hers.
I'll have a full column with Shokugeki no Souma since Hikasa did the slutty twins but I'll probably end up looking at expanding it anyways. Chinatsu Akasaki should be on there at least.
You be the judge:
Some of her English tracks are cool too:
And personally I've never heard any seiyuu do anything quite like this before live and just seem so natural and comfortable
Hayamin is light years ahead of Aoi and pretty much every contemporary seiyuu aside from maybe Nana Mizuki and Yoshino Nanjo when it comes to singing. Like she's actually good at it, it's not just something she does for the gimmick and promotional effect.
She has gimmick, personality, and talent.
Also if you look at her filmography, she doesn't appear much in anime like Ayane Sakura and most of the time she got cast as supporting character.
On the [email protected] clip she doesn't do anything to stand up, on Escort she sounds pretty below average for a jazz singer.(the role she is trying to fill there)
Then again, there is no point of comparison, as not many seiyuu sing jazz.
It's apples and oranges, I could say that hearing Aoi Yuuki sing "Earl De Collage La Mirage" live on and going through all those different voices is more impressive. Her pitch is also more clear and consistent too.
I go back to my initial point, give Hayami around three more years, she has the talent but right now she is too inexperienced.
I fell in love quickly with her after watching her at ML2nd.
Can't agree sorry, think it's the exact opposite. I know Aoi has more fans and is way more heavily promoted and supported by the industry though so I kind of understand why people would think this way.
I'm not an Ayane Sakura fag, she's just in goddamn everything now and it is what it is. It used to be that it was just kind of Kana Hanazawa that felt like she was in absolutely everything and a pretty steady rotation and casting of seiyuu around her otherwise. Now there's like a whole wack of seiyuu like Taneda, Uchida, Uesaka, Hayami, Sakura that seem to be in just about every show to the point where I'm not even convinced the industry does auditions and proper casting anime but just goes straight to it and otaku's favorites.
I want Reina to feed me.
Why are you putting Hayami on this nonexistent underdog role? Aoi and Saori get pushed similarly by the industry, hell they tend to feature on the same shows quite often. The only real drawback Saori has is that she is quite homely, otherwise she has the same characteristics that make Aoi popular.(a strong personality, smarts, and talent)
And it's really rude on your part to assume that someone would prefer Aoi as a singer because of gori-oshii or "the industry", if that was the case Amamiya Sora would be my all time favorite seiyuu or some other bullshit.
I doubt you even listened to the performance I was referring to. Circa 2013/2014 I wouldn't bother to argue that Aoi was good at live stage performances, but right she definitively is and also naturally better than Saori due to having more experience.
Big Japanese Corporations are forcing their cutest idol Tane-chan down my throat and I'm liking it so far.
Sup, /a/. Do you guys love me yet?
Maybe, if you mean just "stage", since some prefer glamour some prefer more modest stage, but it is ridiculous when you picks on Hayamin's live singing, also i'm not that anon so i'm curious with Aoi performance that you mean post the video please, also Hayamin is really good singer and she always highly rated as singer even by nips
This one is her performance from her convention live, I don't think there is something that need to be fixed Hayamin is not an idol, so her stage is not idol stage, did you watch it?
Why can't she be real, /a/?
I want her in my life
She's actually going to be in something that isn't just Aniplex plugging her fucking hard with World of Final Fantasy. I'm curious to see how that's going to go. It kind of concerns me that there's people that legitimately buy into the Aniplex marketing hype and think she's this legitimately great outstanding seiyuu that deserves only the best when she's never ha to work for anything. Granted most of this seems to come out of MAL so it's not surprising but like still fuck I can't think of a single role she's had where she's just crushed it and I can only say "boy I don't see how anybody could have done that any better".
Forgot my pic
I have nothing to say, so here's Sumipe deep-throating an ice cream cone.
I just wish she would improve, most of the time while she was doing an OK job, but her performances were not memorable and can be replaced with anyone like you said.
Maaya Uchida was sound really generic in her debut in Sankarea but has improved greatly over the years and aces all of her roles.
I am not "picking" on anyone, I was just pointing out and debating Anon's ridiculous hyperbole in >>135601666
and whatever videos were linked didn't help his point any.(naturally because of how ridiculous his initial statement was)
I don't doubt Hayamin has a bright career ahead of her but she still has a lot to work to do.
Aoi's concert is up on Nyya, an Anon from /sgg/ ripped it for us. It's not up on youtube as far as I know.
>Implying Kadokawa is not Sony's ally
Reminder that newtype awards is basically Sony awards, they can deal with Kadokawa to put her in their show, it is not just Aniplex but Sony
Post more seiyuus eating ice cream.
Not ice cream but here you go.
Any of you think Kurosawa will still going to be relevant after Euphonium?
Nah, a significant number of them are, an even larger number are Warner Brothers produced (WB likes to use JC Staff, clearly), but moreso than that I they all have Jin Aketagawa as the sound director.
>will still going to be relevant
Fucking grammar got obliterated back there.
Here's Minako looking like some rich divorcee
I wish she will be so irrelevant she'll do JAV instead.
Apparently I have missed a lot of Mikagura and Danmachi shit I want to see.
I've seen 5 seconds of Kuma-chan, Ozawa, Oonishi, and Kimura performing the Mikagura OP that looks particularly painful.
I really liked all the voice acting in Blade & Soul but then again I watched Blade & Soul.
Ema's seiyuu is cute. I want to drink a lot with her until we both pass out together.
Yes, but I really wish that Rippi and Pile will star in anal JAV.
Shikaco seems like getting more seiyuu roles though, too bad since from all LL, she's the one that would look really good naked.
Post your favorite KanaHana moment
How do I cure my yellow fever?
Most japanese girls look so cute and kissable to me.
If this has no affect there is nothing I can do for you.
Don't worry I still want to fuck Sachika for some reason too. She has kind of shit westernized taste and actually looks pretty awkward but my dick tells me to go for it.
She has great talent.
Nah that anon talk about singing and you also mention before about her Jazz singing being below average but now you said you didn't pick on her singing, I never hear Aoi sings a difficult song, not the one you give that one is more idolish even kyari pampyu2 can sing like that, changing your voice doesn't make you a good singer, that anon not exaggerating all that much nips really rank Hayamin's singing just below Nana
>dat second half
Ayaneru is my seiyuufu.
Thanks for the nice picture of Aoi-chan.
>my face when Ayana Taketatsu posts Christmas pictures with Shokotan and Rena Matsui
I love it.
She's in like 1 show this upcoming season and that's from a show continuing on from Fall. Even in Fall she was only in like 4 shows.
IMO her most interesting role isn't even from anime. It's like in this case it doesn't feel like Maaya Uchida the idol seiyuu playing a role like an avatar so it can remain obvious for promotional purposes that it's Uchida so much as you're cast to play this character, here's the character, please try to do this and disappearing into that character and the resulting reaction for me is something like "Oh she really can voice act instead of just continously playing some bubbly chuuni anime representation of the anime idol seiyuu character Maaya Uchida".
I hope that made any sense, basically what I mean is that when doing anime it's always felt like Maaya Uchida is just playing the role as she would think her fans would respond to her in that she is Maaya Uchida instead of just playing the role as it's probably supposed to be like with Y'Sayle/Shiva.
She has gotten better to put it in less abstract terms, but only cause she's gotten experience.
Tomato: Just shoot me...
Minako: I'm a grown up now. Look at my hair!
Ayahime: Just a couple more years to crazy cat lady status...
Ako: Eh heh heh...waffles...
>50-60 years old – Live together with my cat
>I hope to still be doing animation and narration work, while drinking tea on my house veranda with my cat by my side. I’ve always kept pet cats since I was a child, they’re an essential part of my life.
That's kind of depressing. Really hope that she just said this to appeal to otaku.
Honestly you tend to think of that as being well done because it's so different from the usual Maaya Uchida role but for what it is it's not particularly amazing compared to what others could do in that role. Her strength is still more in loud retards.
I think it was fine until she mentioned about living with cats.
I think Maaya's hidden strength is voicing lewd girls.
It's fun hearing her voicing perverts with her cutesy voice.
Oh and I should say one of the things about FFXIV is that it's a really fanservicey cast full of known heavy FFXI players, including Uchida. So she's actually there particularly for the sake of being Maaya Uchida but succeeds at doing the role very competently to make it work.
They should rename Trysail to Amamiya Sora and her two lackeys.
Objectively best singer in the industry.
Nana is love.
Nana is life.
Tenchan is on the run! Can you guys catch her?
>That look when you know you'll always get to voice the best girl
Top chemistry between these two lads.
I'm surprised anybody even remembers this. I'm actually still thinking... Not even sure if I should think so hard since there's no guarantees she'll even receive it. Maybe a notebook/paper/pen or something, although I would rather it be something harder for her to get and useful at the same time.
Superior Seiyuu flying through.
2 roles in this coming season, hoping for more later on in 2016
Sending it to her agency (I'm Enterprise) and hoping for the best. I sent her a Christmas letter that way, but I'll have no idea if it ever reached her or not.
But I love her voice, even if everyone in the world thought it was grating.
Who do you want to go on Tokyo Encounter next?
She's a Russophile, stemming from hearing the Soviet national anthem and later afterwards studying Russian history.
Seiyuu discussions used to be so much better before all you /jp/ fags came back over here and started posting endless pictures of them. We might as well nuke /jp/. It doesn't contain them anymore.
I want to rub Machico's bellybutton.
>> Shitty half flip...
Just leave and never do come back! Start accepting people for what they are and stop complaining about stupid thing like having one parent from other country! Because she is half, she looks amazing.
>> inferior genes - your brain is inferior btw
What's she up to now? Her blog and website are dead, and the last thing I can think of which she did was being the lead in that one season of PreCure.
Does this angel have a name?
Has she just fallen out of favour and I'm just a long time fan? Or is it just a flavour of the month problem?
I agree with your point but if that shit's gonna trigger you I suggest going back to tumblr, where you got your pic from.
Don't sperg out about it, you should know at this point that this site is at best indifferent to racial sensitivity.
That being said, hafus are the patrician choice.
Pic related is actually voicing main girl in Haruchika next season.
How I wish Sony would promote Mocho and Nansu more since they seem to be more likable than Ten-chan.
She managed to be best boy in that series, despite the competition.
This thread is seriously lacking in fruits-which-are-used-as-vegetables-in-cooking. Posting Solanum lycopersicum.
Muh nigga. There is something wrong with her but I think my dick could heal her.
Can I be heretical and say a lot of purported seiyuu idiosyncrasies are deliberate attempts to make them stand out from the crowd and give them attention? KobaYuu is disturbingly good at this, it must be said.
> apologized on his personal blog on Sunday for "trying to use"
>"trying to use"
Okay, explain me this.
How come there are some people who are fans of seiyuu who have under 3 roles? Like that Ricca [email protected] chick whatever. I don't understand. How can you call yourself a seiyuu fan if your favorite is someone who doesn't even have +10 roles?
Or wait, it's just because of their looks? Okay, got it.
She didn't become freelance. To sign up for Osawa she's required to not have contact with any other agency for some amount of time.
She now gets to spend more time with Risa Taneda.
>Cute, little Japanese lady
>BIG HUSKY VOICE
I don't know why this turns me on so...
Ricca Tachibana has been in a lot of non-anime things because she came through the training course associated with JOQR's anime and game web radio and was on music shows and stuff before she became a seiyuu.
She's kind of a casual fujo still.
So what piece of shit are you watching just for the voice cast next season?
Yep, the BDs will sell if they include a ticket to an event.
Luck and Logic has a pretty stellar casting. Sumipe, Tane-chan, Touyama Nao, Inosuke, Kayanon, Mimorin and a few others. I just went through the voice cast for all the shows airing next season and surprisingly didn't see that much Touyama Nao.
It turns out seiyuu fandom is a pretty fragmented thing with different ideas of relevance depending which kinds of shows you watch and what other media you consume.
Tane-chan definitely isn't in the Shizuka Itou or Sawashiro zone.
Sumipe is amazing but here's my #1
Great range, soothing voice, smile of an angel, can sing and cosplays sometimes
the catch is that she's a fujo
What kind of Tane-chan videos? and what have you watched already?
Not sure if you watched it already, but the recent Strike the Blood ニコ生s with her have been very entertaining imo. Theres also going to be a Fate Grand Order ニコ生 at 20:00 JST today. Other than that, off the top of my head I can think of Rabbit House Tea Party, Inou Battle Christmas 生, Strike the Blood radio public recording, and the recent KimiUso event were all pretty entertaining. All of them should be on youtube or bilibili.
What is she even in Grand Order?
She's Mashu (Shielder) and a few other servants. Think Mashu is pretty important to the story though, hence her appearance.
Not much difference whether you watch 1st or 2nd live first (both are available on nyaa), but I personally recommend the 2nd live due to much better production values.
If you are a fan of Taneda Risa then you can check the 1st live first though.
You will never a share a cold one with Yuu. Ever.
Has Megumi Nakajima even had any good parts lately?
I'm Filipino. Megumi owes her good looks to her Flip half.
Yes. She looks a lot like a local artist here.
Also I know the image is a tad dated but she really ages well. I seriously don't get how some lucky guy (aside from the one she divorced) hasn't swept her off her feet yet.
Yui Horie is the next guest, the episodes will air in February according to the show's webpage.
Also am I the only one who rewatches TE episodes more often than any other show? I've probably watched them dozens of times right now and they never get old.
Yuu's VA career is practically dead right?
Besides a few recurring roles she's had nothing for a while.
I'm over 8000 miles off, mate.
Her divorce put her off any further relationships. Hell, just look at her twitter and witness the rambling of a divorcee cake, it's hilarious. Plus she found a new husbando.
Leon S Kennedy.
Neat. How many episodes in season two thus far?
Most recent role I can think of was as the lead in PreCure two years ago.
>Even worse for her
Not sure if you're still here but what do you mean by that?
A good proportion of VAs are idols as well, and voice acting doesn't pay well enough for it to be the sole source of income for many seiyuus, so they pose for promotional material for their work or even start singing careers.
What kind of worries me is I haven't heard Minako mention anything being cast in a new anime show for next season (this might change soon, seiyuu do take auditions without prior notice).
