First WIXOSS thread of 2016
English subbed movie preview here (thanks Akatsukin):
Come spend a little time
>First Wixoss thread of 2016
First for Tama, My waifu. May 2016 be the best year yet.
Still waiting for any of the c89 wixoss works to get up on mandarake or otakurepublic.
I hope you got her some Fruit of the Looms for Christmas.
Good taste though.
She has the same seiyu as my waifu.
Did anything else new come from comiket?
Friendly reminder filename related.
the movie art book Im hoping gets a full release, as it was put out by the TT booth. The Guy who did the mustache merch you can find his other comiket work on a few doujinshi websites. The proxy cards are harder to get, and the sleeves are always 70-100$ on secondary markets.
Managed to grab a few doujins for cheap from a few comikets past, hoping they arnt terrible condition when I get them (as they were marked 'used'- they are non-h so hopefully no semen).
once we have a clean rip I'd say fairly fast, considering what was said last thread.
TIME FOR MIKOS!
LUCKY ANON FROM LAST THREAD.
Midoriko is underrated. I liked her a lot and thought her relationship with Hitoe was cute.
Remember is built for abuse and hate sex.
good LRIG, shit tier selector
>no dakis of anime where on side is LRIG the other the Selector
>daki of tcg
So I've found more interview about Mari Okada and her old works. Does does anyone care if I post them so in a future some kind soul translates it all?
For some reason the first one seems to have a higher contrast than the other even though I used the same settings.
Also captcha is fucking up and won't let me upload the other one, I'll try from my laptop.
Apparently this is an interview to Okada about True Tears.
This is most likely some notes about Hanasaku Iroha. I don't know if they contain some comments from Okada, but it's nice to see the whole stuff.
It's sad you don't know japanese to read all this shit by our own.
>Ulith playing for fun
>not to mindfuck other girls psychologically
Happy New Year my friends!
Very nice, thank you.
>The relationship between True Tears and porno
I'm exited. Macross Delta already showed that 2016 anime are much better than anything before them.
The porno part is about Nishimura being influenced by（秘）色情めす市場 which is a romance porno (he watched a lot of these during his student days). He says that these works are within the scope of a daily life although there might be small exaggerations. When he watched it he could feel the creator's "I'm going to do what I want to" spirit peeking through the low budget filming. Normally these types films are part colour (I'm guessing he meant monochrome plus one colour) during love scenes but in this one colour is used instead during the climax where the guy with a mental disability walks a chicken around town before finally letting it fly off the top of the Tsuutenkaku. Okada then goes "hee. sugoi desu ne. Not to mention, a chicken!"
>the climax where the guy with a mental disability walks a chicken around town before finally letting it fly off the top of the Tsuutenkaku
Okada says that she never heard about this story regarding the porno film from Nishimura before and in response to Nishimura's comment hoping that someone would notice the reference, she said "No one's going to recognize something like（秘）色情めす市場 (Maruhi Shikijou Mesu Ichiba)".
>shitty self-insert MC
>cookie-cutter slut buffet
WIXOSS is over.
Why does it have to be like this?
I cannot take serious this. I mean it's the usual for advertising anime but this time in 13 minutes format. It's just sad they didn't even bother to make it complex. At least in WIXOSS they wanted to tell something, mostly because of Steins;Gate influence and Mari Okada's freedom to write.
>Implying is the director's fault
I think there are three person who are to blame: the producers, Mari Okada, and the director.
Hopefully the movie will turn out to be what the series was supposed to be while it was airing.
>Wixoss VN with built-in card game
>Completely original cast of selectors but with familiar LRIGs from the actual card game
>Storyline flags are enabled by your wins and losses
>Different endings depend on whether your LRIG accepts your wish, whether you fulfill the conditions for it, or whether you lose three times
Come to think of it this would work really well
But it was a masterpiece. Unfortunately it's hard to fully explain the feeling of revelation I got when the final episode aired in words, but it was almost absurd how suddenly everything in Spread fit into place when the theme of "choice" was truly presented. It's one thing to know Wixoss is a series about selections, and another to feel what that really means for Ruuko, Mayu, and the rest.
Like it was said before. Anne despite being a literally who, just for 2 episodes manage for her getting her niche followers.
How not, she is literally the ideal perfect japanese woman and the artist know it
She really gets some good stuff.
But it seems like the eye color is not quite clear.
I like her with green eyes. Aren't they the official color in the TCG?
I agree, green is a lot better.
This is her first release as a LRIG and her default eyes are green.
Just read the quickstartguide, create a deck on Webxoss and start playing. Webxoss is automated so you can't break the rules,
well except for the restricted list (Mayu's room) that isn't fully enforced.
is it pretty well balanced? I'd like to make a Hanayo deck just because I like her, or maybe Eldora, but would that mean I'd never actually win games unless I use the accepted decks?
Now this is what I call graceful as fuck.
Wonder how are the agreements with the artist. Do you think they earn a fixed commission just for the art or they win some kind of royalties by artwork based on the numbers of cards sold?
Nigga, she desperately wanted to be sexualized by her brother
I feel like doing a rushed crap typeset job just to finally see it done. Not good, just readable.
Then I realize I have neither the time or patience for this.
Kek, really? It was my
AOTYbut I could hardly call it a masterpiece, just something I liked. Spread was less exciting was still similar enough to be not offensive.
WIXOSS was set up for success. The director, writer and character designer are all pretty famous in the industry. That normally adds up to a great product, which we got with Season 1. I think maybe they couldn't get Okada to commit as full series writer (or maybe couldn't afford her) which would explain the general decline of season 2.
Do you think these two will make a cameo as anime characters?
Is what the experts like to call "yuribait"
Just a reminder that YUZUKI CONFIRMED BEST GIRL
I know Akatsukin meant Hitoe but just let me pretend
>in red color
I'd believe him more if it was green.
>MekiMeki will never sign your stuff
They're just Kuma-chan's senpai and paisen, they liked using her for promoting WIXOSS out of the show so much they went to her agency and hired more of them.
Mind you at this point about the only thing WIXOSS needs is to cram Inori Minase in somewhere to be Ai Kakuma & the Super Trading Card Game Best Friends.
Remember a cute. A CUTE!
I hope she shows up in the movie.
Remembers makes me feel a high grade dissonance. While my lust likes her my feelings don't.
So, a series revolving around an all-female crew of engineers, designers and mechanics in charge of making the most efficient tanks possible as to help their fictional nation win a war against another fictional nation. With gratuitous yuribait on the side and lots of suffering on top.
Remember personifies Okada's hatred for pretty, popular girls. What she failed to account for is just how massive of an effect the prettiness would have once converted onto the 2D plane. Remember is basically not even a bad person because she's so cute and Piruruk is so not.
Remember only followed what the whole system told her to do it. Her previous actions in her childhood can be called as bad, but her actions after being part of Selector System can be justified. Yet, in her end we know she did another nasty stuff hence her final destiny
while it lasted for a few days, weeks or even more
>waiting for typeset to read re/verse and PA
even if it takes forever
Daki now available
We will live again once the movie is subbed.
The guys who bought reverse vol 2, did you receive an bonus artwork thingy or just the book?
Where did you order it?
Also, if someone is interested. Kanon Wakeshima's new wixoss single is already up for preorders, releases on february 10, and the King Tama card binder can be ordered from melonbooks and probably some other stores.
Please don't spam the threads with Tama guro.
I want to believe that this is Akatsukin planning to drop the Reverse translation in 1-2 hours.
Just some wishful thinking.
Are seriously going back to this, right?
Sorry! I decided to do a little extra while I had the time.
>Re/verse Chapter 13 (Final) Translation:
>Mayu's Bullying Room Chapter 4 Translation:
The ending to Re/verse is quite Okada. Again, it's hard to explain with just words, but the emotions that she created throughout the series spanning over an entire year all culminate in this conclusion.
Although not much is concretely concluded, there are enough clues and the final character developments are clear enough to guess what will happen. Of particular interest is that just like in Spread, there's a new meaning attributed to the title right at the end. Re/verse doesn't simply mean "reverse", but a "verse repeated", as in the wishes that the girls make. It is to in fact not simply wish, but to take in the world around you as well. She doesn't say not to wish at all, but that you mustn't give up your happiness for the sake of your wish. What's really cool is the one panel devoted to showing how Aoba and Wakaba are doing it wrong.
Anyway, that's the end. Now all we have is Mayu's Room and Stirred, which I'll keep doing. Goodbye to another storyline.
AAAAHHHH I love you.
Happy new year.
I'll read everything side by side tomorrow.
Ruuko has a real fucked up imagination, I swear.
500gb worth of videos of her masturbating on a webcam.
I really need lewds of her.
>you will never somehow beat Ruuko in a game of stripXOSS
Probably Fumio and Futase were literally who's but I hope them to get a cameo in the movie.
Fuck, I'm so sad I didn't get to pre order off of Amiami
I really need to find a place that still has em
They got to explain how the fuck the new cards adress Kuro as Yuki as a white LRIG in the TCG. Meanwhile we got Yuki as a black LRIG in the anime. Shit doesn't make any sense.
Believe in Okada anon.
If nothing else, believe in miracles.
I myself was not very happy the ending. It all felt very logical, very safe. Bad guy "dies", woobie Mayu redeems herself, everyone goes back to appreciating how great life is when not ***ked up by Wixoss. So bland, it felt like a cop-out.
A full blown dark "rebellion" type sequel is most welcome, 'cause lets face it, compared to Piluluk/Kiyoi, everyone else had it friggin' easy. It's time to share the sweet suffering :D
What hole did you crawl out of?
The ending was terrible.. we didnt even get to see giant tama and the destroyed city like Ruuko said we would.. such a cop out just for a shit happy ending it was YYY all over again.
>you'll never experience the magic that was infected for the first time again
Man, she had it rough. Chapter 9 hit me like a train. I hope everything turned out alright for them.
I will never forget the thrill generated by the directing and the script. Like it was said before it's just very sad to see an anime who had the potential to be something great to had an underwhelming development.
It's because the lack of new content. This is not a serialized manga nor a on going LN. We simply don't have anything to discuss anymore since we already exhausted almost every single topic of discussion since 2014.
Now we are either shitposting, waifuposting and tellings jokes. That said, were are the scans for Mayu Bullying Room?
But there is always new content.
I bet you have never seen Hanayo in a chinese dress before.
It's her first LRIG. Remember thought she was talking to another person. It turned out to be her first former LRIG enjoyed Remember's body and life. For some reason, she read her diary and could tell Remember di very nasty stuff to other persons. That sicked her and gave her the ultimate punish
That makes a lot more sense now that I think about it. Thanks.
Who's the best LRIG and why is it Midoriko?
>What's wrong with being straightforward?
>isn't straightforward with her feelings at all
Literally, OKADA. Does anyone knows why there is so much incest in her works? It even was hinted in True Tears, her first series as main writer. It happened in more of her works and it gives me the idea that couldn't just be to pander the otakus.
I don't mind it.
>Why do we have separate bodies?
>Why were we not born as a single person?
>We were one to begin with
>What do you think you're doing?!
>Hey, why did you give birth to us separately?
>Honey! Honey, come quick!
It's an interesting story, actually.
There was a girl in Okada's school who wanted to fuck her brother.
Okada found it really disgusting, and would bully that girl and call her names. Okada is basically like Aki-lucky. You can easily tell because she gets a lot of enjoyment out of making people suffer - both characters and the audience.
Of course, she couldn't make that girl suffer in school forever, so she decided to become an anime writer so she could bully that girl for the rest of her life. That girl is called Ayako Kawasumi (Hanayo's voice actor - notice how they're born in the same year).
That's Okada's master plan. She is a demon of despair. She wrote WIXOSS just for another chance to bully that poor girl. She makes Hanayo tell Yuzuki that she is disgusting. That it is wrong to love your brother, whilst Kawasumi is dying inside from the shame and the pain.
Isn't it grand?
We have a LN its just not translated
We have a slow but on going manga, amd waiting on typse sets
We also have the movie coming out, and the pv was translated. The 'every thread' poster is a faggot trying to start a forced meme by posting that the last 6 or so wixoss threads. Hide and ignore.
I was planning on buying it
in march, when the LOGH localization gets released. I can't read moon though, so I wouldn't be able to tell you if it was good or not.
If you want to get it, try cdjapan
Has anyone here already watched the newest Okada movie?
You sound funny you can stay.
I just wish someone would scan/translate the manga.
Pretty much every thread there is a few posts with a distinct style of broken english. It's usually good enough to get the meaning across but I'd say it's pretty noticeable.
Don't you think it's sad when you got Okada's level. All the creations you have in mind and how fast you can detach yourself with them regardless how is it going turn out to be? This probably happened Okada since lots of times even with True Tears, her first series.
Wait, Okada wasn't in charge of Spread?
THAT EXPLAINS A WHOLE FUCKING LOT.
I've been thinking since a lot of time the problems related to [series composition] and [screenplay/scriptwriting]. My theories about the general feel about spread and how it turned out to can be answer by some things which happened during Mobile Suit Gundam Iron Blooded Orphans helped me to realize and gave me the neccesary and sufficient evidence to conclude.
A writer can be the series compositor and set what kind of events will happen during a series so in the end it keeps a theme developed consistently. After doing a draft, this remains to further discussions with the producer and the director, in other words, it can be modified further but the one who gives the approach of the series is the director if he wills. There are cases in which a director simply follows what either the director or the series composer says. We are excluing another variables related to the production itself like the schudles and another exogenous event which can affect it. This covers the subject as [planification].
Related to subject how the stuff is explain in everyday corresponds to scriptwriters's job. In general, they are supposed to write the lines with the respective charactes according to what is supposed to happen according to the final draft given to the series compositor. Now it now really depends of the writer about how much details the give to the persons in charge in production. The series compositor usually begins doing the script for the initial episodes and later it gives the chance to fellow rookie writer to shape up their skills, because they are the future of the industry. Also, sometimes the series compositor does the scriptwriting of the whole series. This alternations's relationship between series compositor and screenplayer/scriptwriter is similar to directors and storyboarders/episode directors. Consider we are leaving all the payment variables here and production choices. This covers what we call [execution].
Now let's take a lot to Mari Okada's career. She has been working as scriptwriter since long time ago and until True Tears, as the main writer also know as series compositor, her career took off. Considering she is actually the most profilic writer in the industry right now regardless the quality of the products.
In terms of [planification] most of her initial drafts are changed because reasons either given by the producer or director. She has a record of getting them, probably like many other writers anime writers in japan. Also when it comes to [execution] it's easy to spot Okada's scriptwriting and who does now better the story than her when it comes to make the correct dialogues and better development of things going real in a certain episode, obviously her. Since she got to be a series compositor she only does scriptwriting in the series in which she is the main writer leaving the scriptwriting job for the movies.
Then why spread is shit? I don't know, but when it comes to make thing sense the only possibly explanation is her commitment in her actual role as main writer and her production modus operadi, this is important. Regarding to the late, she has a work code "do not limit the creativity of anyone during production". How does it translate in terms of production? She usually makes her drafts filled with core ideas without any details so the persons can use their brain and make the whole process more rich, because anime isn't just the sole creation of one person. But there is a problem here, we don't know how she handles the organization because the details are very important when it comes to certain episopes: either she relies on the scriptwriters or she gives them the sufficient information for them not to fuck up. Also, let's consider she also takes jobs as series compositor for other anime so now you have a main writer who is busy planning the general series for other anime before production. This complicates the stuff even more.
What has been happening with the current gundam: there certain problems with a characters dialogues and their previous development. It's looks like when Okada is in charge her episodes feel this character becomes consistent. But when there is another scriptwriter doing it suddenly there are loose laces with previous episodes. This doesn't seem to be a correct coordination but given the current news of Kiznaiver we recently are aware she has been doing the series composition for the new series of Trigger. Also, she is credited to be the scriptwriter in all the episodes for that series. This does seem to explain why she has been doing only her job as scriptwriter in certain episodes, this also explains the probably theory "use your brain and git gud" when it comes to let the other scriptwriters to manipulate how the process of the story unveils.
Now why would I mention it and how does it related to Spread, because compared to Infected, Okada had more episodes with her as the scriptwriter, we are not making any statement about the quality of the episodes during Infected or Spread. There is a couple of episodes in Infected the mood of the series gains force as a tide even without her as the scriptwriter but in the last episodes it loses it's force. When spread happened I don't know what she was doing in that time, probably planning another series but she was credited to have written less episodes than spread. Also until today I still remember the producers talking about problems with production, probably related to Okada. Either way, the problem was Okada and her initial draft which was retarded or she failed at making the correct cordination with the scriptwriters or producers selections or probably all of them interacting at the same time. Finally, we could just simply all of this wall of text to call her a "hack" because it's seems easier to understand. Then again, we are leaving so many variables here which determinates the production process.
