Read the fucking guide: buyfag.moe
>depends on how much you like driving 30 minutes and getting ass raped and your wallet stolen in a JC Penny parking lot.
I think it's pretty easy to avoid buying bootlegs if you can see it in person.
Always open and look at the figure when buying in person. I've had 4 people buy from me in person on ebay and reddit just in the last 3 months and the retards don't even look at the figure and hand me cash and walk away. I have to remind them to look at the figure to make sure it's exactly perfect (it always is).
You can't make a profit scalping. It will take months to sell anything that isn't on toonami.
You'll get less buyers on MFC unless you price your figure pretty cheap and include free shipping.
The worst place is definitely here. Don't sell here unless you're just looking to give away your figures for free.
Picked these up today. Kinokuniya was having a buy one, get one half-off sale, so I only paid about $30 a piece, which is pretty damn reasonable.
I was being facetious about scalping. I just have a bunch of sealed nendoroid so want to break even on. Most of them have accrued in value, so I'm confident I'll get at least Amazon prices for them, more for some, but I'm worried about niggers (fuck niggers they're trash) making scam disputes
I have never had a scam dispute selling over 100 things on mfc. I get about 1/25 scam disputes on ebay. And scam disputes on ebay take like a month and a half to resolve and you don't get your money the entire time.
Unless you're selling something stupid /v/ like Nendoroid Red or Ahri, or something super popular like Umaru or figma Lucina you should just go with mfc and skip ebay altogether.
$60 rare nendoroid like Mayoi for example x 13% = 7.8 goes to ebay/paypal straight up.
Then subtract shipping, which you have to do free shipping to get any interest so like $7-10.
$42 nendoroid. tell them to quote for shipping. paypal fee 3% or ask them to pay or gift it if you have good feedback.
Literally exact same profit. Which do you think will sell faster?
Using ebay is a joke.
They're a good size for desk display (small enough to fit on the base of my monitor), and cheap. They also make a lot of characters that don't get many other renditions, and I'm willing to spend $30 on a Figma (or Nendo) of a character I sorta like, while it's only the ones I really love that I'll spend $100+ on a scale of. I could buy a cheap new car for what I've spent on anime goods and figures over the years, so it's not like I don't buy nice stuff, either.
Honestly, I'm just on a Monogatari kick lately, and this is what I came across while shopping around downtown today.
You're charging them for shipping in your sales price. Ebay charges you 13% on the entire sale, including the shipping cost.
You gotta be pretty dumb not to understand that or have never used ebay before.
Well I usually earn around 40-80 u$s per figure, for instance, I sell a 13K figure for 300u$s, also I collect some myself but if any figure of mine goes up in price a lot I sell it.
Use ebay for rare stuff because there's lots of people looking for it there. People aren't doing random searches for Kancolle Nendoroids on ebay. They are doing random searches for things they can't find at the usual online store
Honestly, there were two girls and really presentable high school aged guys buying in person. They were just ignorant of scammers. Maybe just innocent, or possibly dumb.
I sold to one of you fucks once, and anon was disgusting and was a full on neckbeard. And tried to haggle at the meetup.
I'm scared to shit of scamming through MFC etc.
I have a pretty rare Dollfie Dream (Beatrice), and I've thought about selling her, but that's an insane amount of money to risk over an online transaction.
Or assets. Msyu figure never ever.
It's funny because you have no idea what the fuck you're talking about. I sell on eBay all the time, it doesn't matter what they call the fees, they're not paying for your shipping so it makes no difference.
you can't sell something like that and get seller protection from paypal. the limit is pretty low for single transactions. you have to use shipping insurance which costs a lot.
It's much easier to use craigslist, which is why you see so much hard to ship and expensive stuff on there.
In Japan atm and can buy this for 8800 yen. Should I do it now while I can dodge the shipping?
It's an insane amount of money to lose because some dipshit wants to scam me, not an insane amount in general.
I'm not sure how you'd think otherwise unless you're absolutely filthy rich, a completely sheltered and spoiled kid, or a troll.
Yeah, that's a lot of why I'm hesitant. I'd pretty much only sell her face-to-face to somebody from the forums or whatever.
Not that I actually want to sell her, though, I know I'll never replace her if I do, and she was my first doll. I've just thought a few times about the other shit I could buy with two grand.
Just placed my first international order. Waiting for AmiAmi to resume business next week to find out how much mongolian funnymoney I'll have to shell out for EMS.
How will I know if my package gets caught by customs? Will they just send me an invoice and tell me to pay the ransom fee or I'll never see my waifu again?
Where do you live? There is no custom fees in the US and if you are canada it's random. I get caught around 10% of the time some others get caught everytime. If you do get caught canada post will just ask for the money at the door. They take cash and credit, dunno about debit
Califag here. I've never had issues with AmiAmi orders. A couple shipping boxes have been opened, but figures have never been seized or fucked with.
That said, I've never ordered lewd lolis or anything, DFC girls in modest swimsuits are about as bad as I've ordered.
Fuck, thanks for reminding me, anon.
Apparently my points are gone. I ordered like $5k+ from them from '10 to '13 or so, and then haven't done it since, and I'm showing a balance of 0.
All I ordered was pic related and a
BQ in a tasteful swimsuit, so it sounds like I should be fine.
Yeah, I wish I had now.
I used them most orders, just checked and I only had like 500 when they expired, so not the end of the world.
I wasn't planning on not buying any more figures after my last order in early '13, there just wasn't anything I wanted enough to buy for a couple of years there.
The GATE Rory figure is the first one I've preordered in ages, and I'm debating this. Lewd Ruri is definitely up my alley, but 11,260 is a shitload of yen for a simple 1/7 figure...
That's shitty. But yeah, the expire after a year. As long as you continue to order though it's supposed to extend the expiration date each time you get more points. Did you go a whole year without ordering anything?
I keep one of each type that I get.
You are SOL then.
>Did you go a whole year without ordering anything?
Almost three years, actually, as I mentioned in my other post. It was a combination of nothing I was that interested in and a bunch of other shit going on in my life, including a weeb ex-GF who took half of my collection with her when we broke up.
the points are dependent on exchange rate. so it's bad to use them right now. they stay yen, so you want to use them when the exchange rate is bad. the points reset every time you make a purchase. so just buy something every year.
Fuck that shit. That is why I never let my ex buy figures for me and we never shared. All he was into was Kingdom Hearts figures anyways so not too much to worry about on my part.
>Using one punch man bait
>Using the I am new here bait
>Using the asking for recommended sites bait
C'mon now you are just insulting me.
I got other shit of similar value, and she's so fucked in life that she's 32 and living with her boyfriend's parents, so I don't really need to.
She mostly took shit I didn't care about anyway (mostly a fuckload of Sabers, bitch was obsessed with her), but the hit to the collection still turned me off of buyfagging for a few years there.
Yeah, I wish I'd done that.
A lot of it was
>hey, you should buy that figure, I like it.
>you bought that because I wanted it, I'm taking it.
I just wanted her gone when I kicked her out, so I only argued on a couple of figures, and like I said in >>135455616, I think I came out of the deal better than she did.
Well at least you ended up better off. I think the only things my ex tried to take was my copy of Pikmin 3, which technically I bought so he could play, but my friends like it too and he doesn't even own a Wii U so fuck him, and he also tried taking one of my Ikea 2x2 shelves.
I mean, it was fun enough to play, I guess. I only played through maybe 3/5 of the first game and stopped. The newer figures are pretty nice, but that's about it.
This is from last thread. Who is she? On iPad can't reverse search
kek, that's actually a pretty funny coincidence, because I ended up with a bunch of Wii (original and not U) games and accessories but no Wii to play them on because she took it.
Yeah, we were weird from the beginning, I guess. I bought him a PS3 on Black Friday one year and he bought me a Wii U a couple years later and we agreed that we alone owned them, and that the other couldn't do takesy backsies. So super glad on that one, but at the same time it makes it feel like we were planning for a future breakup that way. Oh well, I feel like it's for the best.
But in all seriousness, that's shitty anon. I'm sorry. Luckily Wii's are hella cheap nowadays.
If they actually make this one, I'll get mad at them.
2016 looking good. Minus the Jewry by koto for the alt face those fuckheads
This looks nice for a prize figure.
Read the manga, it's the best version that's easily accessible.
You can watch the anime if you enjoy the manga, it changes a lot and isn't great, but it's still fun to see everything "come to life" in animation once you're already invested in the characters.
>go to amiami
>search for all figma, scale, and revoltech of my waifu
Yes, but not so different that you won't still want the figure.
I've been in love with the manga almost as long as it's been translated, and I still have that figure on preorder.
My first, and most important thought when hearing that GATE was getting animated was "holy shit, I might actually get a Rory figure," and of course I'm buying it now that they've delivered.
Similar overall. But the details are all different.
the most critical detail being that she wears lewd pantsu in the manga and not in the anime.
I'm still mad about that.
Still buying the figure, though, even if I know I'll be disappointed when I look up the skirt.
I accidentally broke a peice of stationary on my GSC Senjougahara. It was where one of the clear plastic triangle things connected to the pink stapler. What would be the best way to repair this?
Amazon JP is actually pretty based.
I've never gotten a figure from them but books sent from fucking Japan arrive in better condition than anything I get from Amazon in the US.
I was thinking of buying these:
Are they bootleg? I can't read nip.
That small earthquake we had up here in the Vancouver area yesterday bumped her up against the wall of my detolf and broke it.
Yeh i was thinking super glue since its plastic and not PVC or acrylic.
I like the anime version better. This just looks really odd to me especially with the random front cutout.
On the other hand I much prefer Demon Queen's manga version over the plain anime design.
I wonder if she would look good next to Stronger's Shiki coming out in a couple months. I need something to go into the cabinet with Stronger's.
Anyone have her?
Not that I've seen, but that's what's canon for the anime version.
I've complained a lot on /a/ about it, but I'm still damn salty about it. I know it sounds ridiculous to focus on a detail like that, but when I saw that lewd lace in the manga, it said something about her character and personality that attracted me to her so much.
Hmm. Well anime Rory is still pretty lewd.
Thank you anon! I found some super glue and it worked great. Just gotta remember to be super careful when I move her now. Fucking earthquakes, I'm considering buying some of that microscopic suction cup anti slip material to put my figures on to stop this from happening again.
How do you guys usually fill this out? I don't live in Japan.
1: Name in English
2: Name in katakana
What do I put for prefecture?
it'd be okay if we cut out the forwarding fee and domestic shipping charge. there's too many fags trying to scam though, so no Japanese company wants to take the risk of adding overseas shipping. and KotoUS is almost like a giant waste of money since it's more expensive than buying via forwarder.
Even me selling on ebay I've sent to two different beaners that used US forwarding addressing to try to scam me. Sent a NIB Sallya to Arizona and got back junk computer parts in a fake dispute. If I was Japanese I wouldn't give a shit about saving some filthy gaijin scammers 1500+ yen.
goddamnit guys, stop trying to make me buy more Sabers. My collection already looks like this and I don't even like her anymore.
Why was I curious about how daki are made? This is horrifying.
How did you think they were made? Did you think it was some magical Willie Wonka type factory filled with lolis?
Distant Avalon is the coolest one IMO.
I'm the guy who mentioned his ex-GF jacking a bunch of his figures earlier, that was among them, along with the other GSC 1/7 "dynamic pose" Sabers. (The other Lily without armor and Triumphant Excalibur.)
My December order actually made it before end of the year.
I thought it was like a mixture of loony tunes and han solo where lolis did a pose before two huge pistons crushed then into 2D form and trapped them in a pillowcase to be stuck forever until freed by an 80/20% mixture of tears and semen
Got her today. My dick is on fire.
No, seriously, she's gorgeous.
Yeah I had the exact same problem, thought I'd just get it on release but then it goes unavailable the day it releases. I saw someone ask on their twitter if they were shipping new stock soon and they just linked him to the Amazon US store.
I'm from the UK but I just ordered it from Amazon US because it didn't look like they had plans to ship new batches any time soon, I think I got pretty lucky too because it changed to unavailable on Amazon US shortly after I ordered.
Now I just hope it arrives without being torn up, which might be wishful thinking considering how bad Amazon's packaging is.
It just appeared on Foyles, guess I'll put my hopes on it. Otherwise I'll just read it online.
What else is there?
Though, I'm planning on painting my living room this weekend, so I need to pick a color today. I'm thinking of getting a warm gray to go with wood trim and red fireplace, but all the samples I've been getting have been coming out too purple for my taste
Looking to preorder one or maybe two of these. Which ones do you guys think are likely to bin, so I can pick them up in the aftermarket?
Eleonora probably. The IS girls and I-168 binned and dropped to around <12k so you would have saved a couple thousand yen if you didn't preorder. Nyaruko hovers around MSRP. Or she might turn into Medaka and double in the aftermarket. Those are just the recent ones I've been keeping track of.
All in all, preorder all of them so you have No Ragrets.
Yoko might bin because everyone will preorder her and it's not as good as bounty hunter. Unlike Medaka, whose price skyrocketed because bunny's the only good figure of her, Yoko has tons of figures already.
I should have mentioned this in the post, but as mentioned before, this is a school calendar. We still have pic related to go.
Got pic related in the mail yesterday. She's a lot heavier than I expected, but also a lot better looking in person.
Still dunno why she's gotta have random pink nails though.
Why the hell are you all saving up amiami points? Use rhem as you get them. They are just yen.
Also, I would love comiket stuff but I only use a proxy for certain special things. There must be a way to see what they got for sale and get someone to pick it up for you. But even then, that is a bit complicated.
Full body shot. I really enjoy looking at her tail. She only has boring white pantsu though.
Finally got to set up hera last night.
She fits in the detolf, but only barely, id say she's within a centimeter or two from touching the edge. There's no way to fit her with another figure in the shelf, which is sad because I would love to put her with astaroth.
You can tell GSC took control on the paint, I saw no flaws, and I inspected her rigorously.
Sorry for flash, it was dark.
My box came with an extra Makoto. Willing to sell it if anyone wants it.
I was hoping the 8th would be a special one, but nope, it's just an extra.
I wouldn't mind having her, though I would love if they made hera's dancing queen version. Though I think many people shy'd away from ordering her because of her shipping price.
>implying this cumslut doesn't want anything else
She's amazing, anon, great purchase
I was kidding about the whole thing, I couldn't do that to my husbando.
Guessing amiami doesn't want this shit either because I only ordered 1, but sent me 5.
I think you should buy this one too.
So Chino arrived today, the counter is pretty bad and the arm to get her stand in is pretty awkward but she's still pretty nice.
Nothing. Fridge is stocked, I walk to work, I make my own lunch. If I don't have to spend money on food or transportation I try to avoid doing so. Get to spend more money on my hobbies that way.
Protect German ships.
I save my points until I have a really big order coming in, then I blow them all to reduce the inevitable ridiculous EMS cost.
Looks pretty good.
My package I ordered on the 10th with SAL still has not left Japan.
For some reason, Air Mail has been amazingly fast for me recently.
No I think it's actually still in Japan.
You can pre-order a glow stick via Pledgemusic, Google "hatsune Miku pledgemusic" and you can find various things to pre-order. It also comes with free shipping and a pin.
I already spent quite a bit on official merch so that I can spend more time at the other booths selling stuff
Why did I need a box this large again?
Says this in the guide:
>Able to easily check out yourself (they take credit/debit cards and PayPal) and use a forwarding service.
A bit ambiguous, but I thought it meant they will use proxy/forwarding services.
What camera gear do you guys use to photograph your figures?
I'm thinking about getting a Canon DSLR but not sure what lenses I should go for.
Man, I don't even know anymore.
My ex was largely to blame for the collection though, she was a huge Saberfag.
Mordred didn't exist when I was collecting Sabers. (At least, not as a figure.)
That one's not bad at all, plus I like Nero way better than Arturia nowdays.
Now I suddenly want an actual figure of The Stig. Too bad he'd probably be a licensing nightmare.
Nikon D610 here with 35mm, 50mm, and 85mm all f/1.4.
Not really a great lens selection for figure work, honestly, a macro would make more sense, but 90% of my camera usage is for full-scale stuff.
>no Nendos of Clarkson, Hammond, May & The Stig
Truly a crime against humanity.
How much are you willing to pay?
At least yours got here. Mine still hasn't left Japan.
>trying to buy muh aidoru CDs off amazon JP
>don't know what the fuck I'm doing
Fucking hell lads, I think I may be retarded for reals.
Rainbows and wings aren't the first things I think of with the theme "Flame and Victory". Though the position of the wings makes them kinda look like a laurel wreath so I guess that works. The flag just looks tattered.
I wonder if any of the finalists are upset that their designs were pretty much ignored. It looks like ideas were taken from them, but the final design doesn't look like any one of the final five.
Never bought an old figure outside of Mandarake before, what is my best bet to get this Selvaria figure?
She is at 16000 yen in amazon.jp. Is that a good deal? Or is there a way to get her cheaper from somewhere else? Or should I wait until she pops up somewhere else? But since her other figure all got more expensive over time I am afraid this one will too.
Also I live in Germany so if she becomes available somewhere where they undervalue I could save an additional 1000 anime dollars or so.
easy way to do this is go on google and sear "amazon jp help" click on one of the first links and when you get to the page it will give you the option to put it in english. congrats, amazon jp is now in english including the navigation tabs and shit.
Yeah, I really like her. She was by far the most expensive otaku thing I've ever bought (unless plane tickets to Japan count), but I'm so glad I went for it and managed to win the Volks lottery. (And managed to get the alt outfit too, which was substantially harder to get than the doll herself.)
Their Snow White and Red Riding Hood looked really bland, but this and Alice are looking pretty nice. Crown looks like cheap plastic, though it could be the lighting.
Still waiting on pictures of Alice's retail version before ordering anything from them.
I thought AmiAmi rarely restocks and just sells new figures?
Well I did follow your advice and I will give it a few more weeks before I do anything and I hope they will notify me.
The mail system didn't disappoint and now I can spend new years with the best idol Honk.
>Pochaco didn't win foty
Maybe next year will be the year of the HEALTH
D200 refurb with a 35mm AF-S 1:1.8, got it a long time ago for under 500 bucks total.
The Sunny Day Song Plushes are bigger then the school uniform versions. Here's Honoka next to her scale for size comparison.
\Would you rather be locked in a room with a female from MFC, a dollfag or a porkchaco lover?
If I go under their pre-owned section I still only find the same page as in their pre-order section:
I don't see her being listed as 13,8k anywhere.
I saw this thing in person the other day. Do not want.
I'm a dollfag and the monthly meetup group I used to go to was actually cool, so I'd be fine with being locked in a room with them, as long as it weren't for too long. (Although there were a couple girls in that group that I totally would be ok spending time in a locked room with if ya know what I mean...)
How long until she gets the ectoplasm?
I don't imagine a dollfag would be too terrible to be locked in a room with
I always picture dollfags with a normal exterior because of how expensive their hobby is, probably requiring a decent job.
Why is the Goth Loli from Gate getting so many orders?
I mean Gate wasn't that successful and the character isn't really different from the other 100 goth lolis we got in the past.
There actually is a major difference between her and pretty much every other character like her; she's lewd, openly sexually aggressive, and of age. That means guys who were already into the archetype have gone crazy for her, since it's "ok to fuck her."
The novels and manga seem to have been popular, and she's the most popular character in them, so a lot of orders probably come from fans of those. (That's the case for me.)
Or maybe the Japanese Right Wing is buying the fuck out of her to show political support lol.
I sort of wish I'd ordered Ougi. Hopefully GSC or Alter do a nice one for her too.
Or if I'm hoping for anything it's that Kanbaru gets another scale, actually.
Most likely a dollfag, but it would really depend on the type of MFC female. I think a few of GK builders or magical girl/90's anime collectors might be pretty chill. Fujos and "I'm a girl and collect lewds, by the way did I mention I'm a girl?" types need not apply.
I use a Galaxy Note 5 for my regular photos, like this one.
You know, I have a feeling most Roryfags are also Rurifags.
Rory is pretty much exactly the character that a horny Kuroneko would write into one of her stories as a self-insert Mary Sue.
Kanbaru is best gatari and all and I would love another scale, but I think it's about time for Yotsugi to get something. Also I love this little tummy peek.
Then I use a Sony NEX6 with it's normal lenses to take actual pictures. No fancy equipment or lenses are needed, just good lighting.
The majority of dollfags (if we're talking about Dollfie Dream/BJD dollfags) actually are pretty tolerable in my experience. The DD meet group I used to go to was like 6 guys, all of whom were die-hard otaku but otherwise pretty normal, and a few girls that were similar. These things are so damn expensive that you really need to have a decent job to afford them, and you can't really hold one of those down without social skills.
I actually really miss that group, everybody was cool and our meets consisted of about 30 minutes of doll photoshoot and then we'd put them away and all go to a bar or restaurant and talk about otaku stuff while getting drunk. I moved to a new city and there's a community here, but I went to one meet and they were much more autist and less fun.
Of course, that's the people who were social enough to attend meets regularly, there were some pretty weird-seeming people on the forums.
Just play with your light source until the light sensor picks up more detail. I use a regular warm yellow table lamp for these pictures.
Or you can switch the camera from "Auto" to "Full Control" where you can play with the ISO, light, focus, and shutter speed. But I'd recommend getting a tripod for that.
>that feeling when anon posts your photo
I'm still pretty impressed with that Note 5. I'm an ex-pro photographer and still haven't managed to get photos that decent out of a phone.
On a side note, I want that Lumix phone with the huge sensor really badly now that it's down to $450. I think I'm gonna end up holding off from buying figures for a couple months and buy it instead. I have a full DSLR rig with studio lighting and all of that, but I'd love something I can carry everywhere without having to find room for another device and that can upload casual shots directly without having to go through Lightroom.
Yeah, I was pretty much thinking that too.
>tfw GATE is written by Ruri and both Rory and Risa are self-inserts. (kek, which makes Tuka passively-aggressively inspired by Kirino?)
If anyone has her, can she fit in a detolf shelf?
height wise she's fine but length I'm not sure
This 'chocolte' line is actually halfway decent
tfw My onahole order still hasn't shipped because onatsuyu is on back order
Never used Air Small Packet before. When can I expect it to appear on my doorstep. Also, Texasfag.
What is the best shop to use for preorders when you live in an import tax hell and AmiAmi is out?
$25 (with bonus) for a solid chibi figure isn't too bad. It's built pretty well
Should I pay for this order if I will probably just end up reselling it? Preordered an extra thinking that I'd display both nude and clothed, but the size of it has made me reconsider. Looks to be in stock at a lot of places still so I don't want to pay for the order and end up with something I can't resell.
Holy shit the Hoppou nendo has alot of parts and Instructions.
Why does this get here in two days and my SAL order has been in japan for 21 days?
She arrived today, I didn't think the mail service would work today.
She's gorgeous; this setup took me a while to get done, Laala's hair and Shimakaze's base don't go well together but its nothing a hand-crafted riser can't solve.
