Recently read Tsukihime.
I still think Fate is objectively better. However, Tsukihime is more beautiful and moved me more.
It's kinda like...
Let's measure Tsukihime and Fate in flaws and good parts. And let's imagine it's somehow objective.
Fate will have, say, 20 good parts and 10 flaws.
Tsukihime will have, say, 50 good parts and 45 flaws.
If you substract flaws from the good parts, Fate will have 10 to Tsukihime's 5. But overall, 50 good parts is vastly superior to 20, and if you can overlook the flaws, you will overall enjoy it more.
That's kinda how it was for me.
I guess you could also say that Fate is more ambitious and polished but doesn't deliver on everything as well as it could. Tsukihime is smaller but it delivers on everything it has a lot better and has better themes, overall. It's more beautiful.

I think the turning point was when Rider described Perseus as "Shinji who suceeded". It proved that in some way he really was redeemable, and that his natural traits could become strengths if tempered right. Yeah, that's kinda weird since it was told rather than shown, but for some reason it salvaged his character for me. Just a proof from the writer that he could become a hero too under some circumstances.
Though I kinda wonder what she meant. I never was so great with Greek mythology, and I wonder whether Nasu knew what the hell he was talking about here or not.

That was a big part of it too.
I played the old version, not the Tsuki-Bako one, and god the engine was horrible. And I had to substitute the music for the Ever After version too.
Ironically, once I did so, I loved it, even though the original music grated on my nerves big time. Not that I listened to it for very long...
But the real reason why I love Tsukihime more is the maid routes. They are just so perfect and beautiful in everything they do... Talking about the routes here... That I was blown away.
This was the part where I've gone from tsundere for Nasu to deredere for Nasu, you could say. For some reason, during the maid routes, every single flaw turned into an advantage that only immersed me more. I'm not sure I ever enjoyed a VN as much as I did the maid routes in Tsukihime. Maybe this tells more about my experience with VNs than everything, but it's genuinely how I felt.

Nasu makes a point of saying just about everywhere how magic is innately really dangerous and not really useful in everyday life at all. HGW and Two Shikis Accident were probably kind of a borderline case, but still, magic in Nasuverse is not something that you use lightly.
