Everybody was lying. The MC of Shirobako makes $ 87,500 a year.
You know the exchange rate for dollars to yen right?
>I make about as much as the Executive Producer
Living in poor country, my earnings after working 40 hours per week are even lower than a lowly japanese animator and I'm making around 5000$ yearly and have to live with that and that is considered a good salary in my country for a young person with master diploma and 5 years of studies in engineering...
And people wonder why 2/3 of the world hate the top ranked countries.
>Bills have faces of people bellow them
I never noticed that, that's cool
Yes I know it said A-List. Still doesn't mean they make $600k from voice acting. They may make $600k due to events/concerts/CDs etc but I highly doubt they're getting that much for just voice acting. It's most likely what this anon is referring to >>121407709. VAs like Nana or Yukari or Maaya probably skew the results.
You're right to suspect that it's impossible to earn 70m yen solely as a VA. Even A-lister only make around 50k/day. If she managed to be almost fully booked for a year (like Kana Hana), that's still only around 200 working days.
50k * 200 = 10m yen. Rest of it necessarily come from singles, concert, and appearance fees, which are far more lucrative. In effect, anime is simply a way to get exposure, a mean to an end to rack in the real money.
Well, it seems kind of obvious based on the money part. Well educated people in those countries make a lot by their standard, but a minimal amount by western standards. I know people here couldn't give a single fuck about E-sports, but a russian team won the first Dota 2 International, and split a 1m paycheck 5 ways+fees. One of the players who lives in the Ukraine has been able to support his family just off that for 3+ years and has commented you could live comfortably with less than 3000 USD a year.
You forget that VAs also do other work other than voicing roles.
Mamoru Miyano does model work.
Ono-D does stage acting.
Sugita and Nakamura host their own show.
Akio Otsuka does let's play streams on Nico.
Koyasu is actually a manager of a company.
Еру дштуI am Russian. The line
>5000$ yearly and have to live with that and that is considered a good salary in my country for a young person with master diploma and 5 years of studies in engineering
You forgot about commercials.
It was great before... you know what. You could do some lazy office work and make a good salary. What this guy is talking is one of the worst cases, but life is still cheap here. Thanks God I am a freelancer and I have my paychecks in $.
>She did it.
