I appreciate the quick and exciting pace of this series but I'm starting to wish they had more than 12 episodes to work with. We haven't seen a proper Danzetsu Court sequence in forever and I kind of liked the "duels" on the rooftop capping off parts of the story like the duels in Utena.

I know Penguindrum and Utena occasionally struggled with pace, but their length and the effective use of repetition is still part of what I loved about them.

I think the events might be rearranged to be misleading. The handfull of times Ginko and Lulu have had to go the court also coincide with times that they eat some schoolgirl scrub. Sexy's yuri approval may simply be giving the OK for the girls to eat some chick. The trippy scene that follows with the three girls and the lily may really be something else that we haven't scene yet.


In the early episodes of penguindrum you see Himari/PoC pull something out of kanba's chest, and that scene makes no fucking sense until the end of show where they reveal what actually was going on. I think Ikuhara is up to old tricks again here.
