>48 minute episode
I'm not the only one who likes episodes this long, right?
>>
>>121094063
>mfw these eps are 1hour+ in the BDs
>>
Hell no. I like them.

Though I do find it difficult to marathon anime with long episodes. Like Giant Robo or Katanagatari.

I'd have no problem if my weekly shit was 50 minutes long though.
>>
>>121094183
>100 minutes of new content on the BDs

It's not Taiga dojos, either. This shit's going right into the show.
>>
Usually I would welcome them but it was completely useless in UBW
>>
>>121094183
Is there even any point to watching UBW until BDs come out?
>>
>>121094063
>I'm not the only one who XX this XX, right?
Can you newfaggots be creative on your sentences?
>>
>>121094267
You'll get to compare the differences, I guess. There also might be the off chance that extending the content could make it worse. Hobbit syndrome.
>>
>>121094284
What happened with the hobbit?

>>121094267
Watching it right away and being able to rewatch with extra BD content later.
Also BDs are going to take years for a good release at this rate.
>>
>>121094359
The Hobbit was a children's book that was shorter than any single part of the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Peter Jackson made a trilogy out of it.

UBW was originally stated to be 24 episodes, but the broadcast version of the first cour alone was worth 16 24 minute episodes. The BDs will essentially boost its run time to that of a show with 20 episodes, and this is just the first half.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the hell out of the first part, but they are inserting these scenes into already complete episodes. It might hurt the flow, especially if they're not that good.
>>
>>121094273
Creating threads is a part of the 4chan experience no matter how terrible they seem to be.
>>
UBW was shit when they decided they NEEDED to show Archer creating swords during his first fight against lancer rather than just showing the sword getting broken and then Archer just coming back with more swords.

Shit direction
>>
I feel that more shows should have double length episodes, especially if the pacing is subpar in the original work or if it's an atmospheric piece.
>>
>>121094450
> rather than just showing the sword getting broken and then Archer just coming back with more swords

Like, calling for a fiver so he could go to his car and pull them out of his trunk?
>>
>>121094437
I don't see your point.

My point was for OP to not use that overused statement that you can see plastered all over the internet just to get replies.
>>
>>121094492
Oh I thought you were trying to do basic algebra. sorry
>>
>>121094484
Pretty much, though that would be Kirei

I'm just not sure how you'd want the scene visualized. I mean Archer was projecting. I think the dialog in the VN might have dodged around it, but that's what he was doing. With VN, with the limited amount of visuals you get it's a lot easier to obstruct stuff that should be plain as day to see, but with actual animation you can't really get around it super easy.

I mean they did a cool thing where they used the same shot that they did for Archer's projection when Shirou first did it, so that's something.
>>
>>121094680
I mean, I didn't like the focus they put on Archer projecting swords out of thin air. I feel like it was completely unnecessary to zoom in, pretty much stop the fight for several seconds and masturbate to CG effects of a sword showing up.
I feel like the flow of the battle could have been much better if they had only shown the sword getting broken and then in the next move Archer still having the sword like nothing happened to it.
>>
>>121094450
The problem is that the VN basically stated
>Lancer: "If I wasn't paying attention, i would have missed the fact that whenever i disarm or hit him properly, he just replaces his blades"
The visual cue for something like that would be very hard to do. So they try to make it obvious.
Instead of a zoomed monologue scene.
>>
When the BDs are out and I finally watch it, I'm probably going to be disappointed and dislike lots of things no matter what.

That is just how VN adaptions are.
>>
>>121094861

That's the mind I went into with it and I was still pleasantly surprised.
I hate adaptations.
>>
>>121094417
>Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the hell out of the first part, but they are inserting these scenes into already complete episodes. It might hurt the flow, especially if they're not that good.

These scenes already existed in the VN and reiterate important basics that prevent the story from seeming like a series of deus ex machinae.
>>
>>121094886
This. It's different from the useless shit that jackson added to the hobbit.
>>
>>121094886
We'll probably get stuff cut from the VN, but it's 100 minutes, dude. Is there seriously 100 minutes of stuff that got glossed over? I'm expecting a fair few original scenes.
>>
Reality marble talk
Fixing window

And of course the rest of the extra content is more animation for the date.

BDs looking good.
>>
Eh. I think they're kinda stretching things thin to put together a few of these double length episodes.
>>
>>121094936
>Is there seriously 100 minutes of stuff that got glossed over?
more like eight hours :)

I can't wait until the three episode long BD date odyssey.
>>
>>121094987
Joking aside, we know there's a scene about reality marbles that got cut from the prologue, the window fixing scene is gonna be re-added to episode 2, and off the top of my head the broadcast run dodged a couple of choices. One that I think should hopefully make it in is a dialog between Rin and Shirou about his projection magic. It was weird how the broadcast version made that seem like a complete asspull when there were multiple ways they could have handled it.
>>
>>121094417
>It might hurt the flow, especially if they're not that good.
BD release. Chances of the scenes being counter-productive is very slim.

I'm just wondering what the scenes could even be. I mean putting it all into perspective it's four episodes worth of stuff. That's not adding chump change to the run time.
>>
I kinda hope that we get Lancer vs. Berserker on the BDs
The poor anons who want to wait for UTW-BDs
>>
>>121094284

Or Terminator 2. Director's cut adds like 20 minutes of content, all of which is shit and turns a masterpiece into a trash flick.
>>
>>121095514

I refuse to believe

Terminator 2 is a trash flick.

Let's compare official and UTW

>caren was kotomine's daughter

What the fuck? how did I not get this? the hints were pretty subtle tho

Also how is it possible for shirou and avenger to be in the same place if he's supposedly residing in him?
>>
>>121095746
Because Shirou is more of a template for him for him, and Avenger is a part of created world/time.
>>
>>121095721
Now if only UTW could release their shit on time
>>
>>121095710
I'm not even a Cameron wanker, but T2 is superb.
Theatrical cut is better.
>>
>>121095746
Caren looks really similar to his wife.
>>
>>121095826
>T2 is superb
It's a Schwarzenegger action flick.
It's not "superb".
>>
>>121095832

They never showed his wife unless I'm forgetting parts of HF.

>>121095799

I thought he's just residing in shirou during day and only at night he's able to be a separate entity or someshit
>>
>>121095900
>They never showed his wife
>>
>>121095842
>flick
It's a movie at worst
>not realizing Schwarzenegger is one of the greats
>it's like you don't into dad-core
>>
The only reason the first couple episodes of UBW we're double length was because they were trying to cram so much boring exposition in that they didn't expect people to keep watching if nothing happened for entire episodes. Ironically they still didn't manage to avoid this.

They're essentially trying to cover for the shitty pacing (which is that way to begin with so Ufotable can milk every last dime out of TM fans)
