Not OP, but I'm using MAL just to have a simple list; I'm not counting the ones I dropped and I don't give scores. I could also make a list on my computer, but this way I get some statistics as well.

As for why I'm making a list in the first place: every one or two years I'm going through it to decide on a potential rewatch. Most series I have forgotten after some time, but this way I might get some idea for a series I might want to watch again. Hence why I'm not counting my dropped series.

I think I own more DVDs and Blurays than that, so I've got to be at least 4x that in purchased anime alone.

Then you have to throw in the fansubs of stuff I never bought, which includes all One Piece, all Precure, Doremi, lots of other 4-cour+ magical girl shows, most unlicensed Gundam, all of LotGH and side stories.
