Meruem did nothing wrong.
>actually low tier trash compared to the shit on the dark continent
that's why HxH is now shit though. The power levels were fine as we got to witness the progression of Killua and Gon, but now both of them are entirely obsolete - so is the rest of the world - ~5 hunters in the class of Gon's dad + magic asspull characters like Netero's Son - and the dark continent means ambush after ambush and an entirely new setting that will never make any contextual sense.
I honestly wish the series had just ended with Netero's death
The series should've ended with Gon's death, and after bug arc. Everything after that is all just an afterthought. Especially Alluka and the zodiacs.
The series was written to be concluded at the end of CA and Togashi wanted to continue it.
I don't think you understand what asspull means, the world is a big place of course there is a lot strong people especially in Hunters Association
>I honestly wish the series had just ended with Netero's death
you are not even trying
I don't see why you guys would want the series to end after CA. There is still so much to be seen. The Dark Continent hasn't even been touched yet, you have no idea how good or bad the arc will be.
It's like Yu Yu Hakusho all over again with the demon world and classes.
>toguro(strongest guy at that point) was only b-class
>actually there's a-class and s-class demons out there
Explain how everything that happened after CA was foreshadowed in some way. Zodiacs just came into being and their whole reason for not being involved was because "Netero didn't want it". What a cop out that was, and then you have things like Alluka. Togashi basically thought to himself, "Well, I kind of made him destroy himself, I'll need a charaacter that will completely heal him back to his normal state because I don't want to see him dead"
umm ok you're right
He honestly never did any real building, and that's the problem with the series progression: no real perspective.
Dude you're dumb. We've already witnessed the top class of the world and its been implied many times that they wouldn't be on par with Netero --> therein, there is no 'talent' in the association worth mentioning for the coming arc ( dark continent ) and any very strong characters have to be with the top 5 assessment ( by Netero ) of control ( that gin is part of ) or they are basically asspulls.
The point is there wasn't anything to be seen...
> killing leo
Why though? Just to make Gon angry? I personally don't believe Gon is a 'good guy' he's too personally apt for that. His senses and immortal/indominable-will will force him to make a judgement on the rest of humanity - the humanity that chooses to 'not' stand up for their ideals, to risk death for them. And Killua's influence isn't going to help that. The value he places on people diminishes with every chapter...
You get it. That's why powerlevels NEED to be set from the start.
>Explain how everything that happened after CA was foreshadowed in some way
>people actually believe togashi back surgery story and he'll be back soon
Teleport guy didn't fight anyone and had a mental break down. I'd switch him with Knuckle.
It's hard to say how strong regular gon was before transforming. I fully believe he could have killed Pitou before he went gon-san. He was most likely on the royal guards level at that point, then after raging, ascended to kings level for overkill.
this is why the series was intriguing because the world building was mythical and open ended. But that's why it is bad writing to simply add the entire world in when you've run out of bad guys.
There's tons of presumed magical creatures and a host of hunters keeping them in check, exploring, working for the government - those all check out and were reintrigrated in the CA arc through all the different tv news declarations, and the world government. But to call that forshadowing the ultimate ass pull ( you couldn't see the true world yet ) is just lying bro.
Cutting someone's head off is the most human way you can kill someone. In most cases they die instantly without feeling pain.(nerves dont send the pain signals to the brain fast enough)
>I fully believe he could have killed Pitou before he went gon-san.
His fully charged jajanken didn't even annihilate her skull in one hit. Sure it was still a one hit kill, but kid Gon wouldn't accomplish that. He'd need to land multiple hits but it's not like Pitou is just gonna sit there, she's too fast and Terpsichora might've been overwhelming for regular Gon.
that's absurd and you're stupid for espousing such a fanboyish opinion. Your opinion dimishes your respect for Gon's character too. The point of the arc was that they had no chance, and Gon had to sacrifice 'to-beyond-the-grave' ( greek myth torture level ) in order to fight. Need I remind you that ascended Mereum is stronger than Pitou?
The CA arc started the same way, just expanding the universe and dumping a new set of bad guys into it. Foreshadowing isn't really Togashi's strength but it doesn't affect the quality of the series anywhere near as much as some people think. It's not a big deal if we haven't been aware of DC until now, it won't make the arc any more or less enjoyable and it doesn't mess with the logic of the story.
>comparing kid Gon's technique to Gon-san's technique
That's already ludicrous, we saw how people assessed Gon-san's power from afar and it was on young Netero's level, so kid Gon's power is many times less than that. Because of power differentials the fighting potential of Kid Gon is zip with that much of a gap.
You know what happening in every single series existed exist or will exist? NEW CHARACTER WILL BE INTRODUCED, so oh we didn't saw they earlier and blah blah is not a argument.
As for aluka, how is togashi creating a hax character implies in any way that he was planing to finish the manga at ca?
>Hisoka vs Gon
>Illumi vs Killua
>Hisoka vs Lucifer
>Kurapika vs Spiders
>What happen to Lucifer?
I can think many more, does this looks like a series that is about to end to you?
I don't mind a new character being introduced, it's just everything about Alluka seems thrown together. However we do need resolution with Kurapika and the troupe. However we don't need Gon alive to do that.
Mysterious sibling ends up having a mysterious power that connects her and the family to the Dark Continent.
>Not much is known about Brion's abilities, but according to Ging Freecss the level threat of Brion is A, like that of the other Five Great Calamities, this is even greater of that of the Chimera Ants.
>even greater of that of the Chimera Ants
Of course there's no way to know if he's talking about being greater than meruem, greater than the royal guards, or even squad chimera ants. If he means as a whole, then they're definitely more dangerous
>Meruem will still be the strongest single combatant in the series.
Chimeras ants would be the most dangerous creatures of the dark continent.
>Want more Hisoka/Lucifer/Spiders
>Group objective -- profit and power and fuck the police. Also restoring Lucifer's power.
>Dark continent trip
>Ultra profits, ultra risks, borderlined unsanctioned.
>Possible miracle cures
>Possible weaponizable lifeforms
>Hunter organization wants to keep the fucking lid on this pile of locusts
Are you claiming there WON'T be EVERY Spider, Lucifer, Hisoka, as well as zoldyck interested in this?
I mean, hell, they'll probably be bringing the strongest known (and possibly unknown) nen erasers/nen healers and shit just in case they can maybe save some people on the expedition.
Does this not sound like something Lucifer would be interested in?
Spiders would be interested in for getting lucifer better? Or even just the spiders trying to hijack the goodies like miracle cures?
So the teams are like this for now:
Botobai ( He's like a Soldier )
Saiyu ( ! ) ( Swordsman )
Golem ( A "person" inside the robot )
Marione ( Lolibot )
Mascher ( Soldier under the orders of Murher )
Muher ( Boss of the mercenaries )
Gourmet Temp Hunter
Curly ( Proffesor, interpreter just like Piyon )
The guy with his sister in the hospital.
Ging ( He's an archaeologist )
Ging is neutral but can change if Beyond does something wrong.
More people can be added to both teams.
If they're more dangerous, then it only makes sense that they're more stronger.
I don't know, having an entire special force destroyed in an instant by one monster seems pretty fucking strong.
>But that's why it is bad writing to simply add the entire world in when you've run out of bad guys.
It's not like they just suddenly discovered the dark continent at the end of the CA arc dumbfuck, the hunters have been going there for hundreds of years.
The textured screenshots they used to end episodes are the fucking best
Yuyu Hakusho also pulled that shit off all the time
>The largest animal phylum belongs here, the Arthropoda, including insects, spiders, crabs, and their kin. All these organisms have a body divided into repeating segments, typically with paired appendages. Two smaller phyla, the Onychophora and Tardigrada, are close relatives of the arthropods and share these traits.
> All insects are under the Kingdom Animalia
I can't believe someone this fucking stupid is posting. Retake 6th grade biology or something.
No one has a gauge on Hisoka's strength. I would say he's probably on the same level as Ging. Considering he directly stated he wanted to fight Netero, it's safe to assume he would at least be able to fight equally.
>kite not eaten by queen but kept as pitou's play thing
>somehow gets reincarnated as redhead who likes swordplay
I'm missing something aren't I?
>netero not having been in combat for decades
>not showing off his full strength to his own subordinates
>finally charging up for 2 days to reach a sizeable amount of the power he had in his best days
>not in any way comparable to his power level in the hunter exams
>implying hisoka can beat pitou
>implying overcharged netero can't
How would Ging know that. He wasn't even sure what actually happened.
The thing he said about Kite's ability is obviously true, but it might not have had anything to do with his reincarnation. Other humans that got eaten retained there memories without any special abilities, so obviously Kite did it too.
Gon-san is stronger than Netero though.
Gon-san = King before the Rose
King before the Rose > Netero
At least according to Pitou. Therefore, Gon and Meruem were both stronger than Netero.
This continent seems pretty hype on the worldbuilding part.
I want to see how Togashi handles the snake that turns people murderous.
Maybe have it infect a hunter, turning him into a serial killer?
Re-reading the Yu Yu Hakusho manga really put into perspective how shit Togashi is at telling stories.
Goddamn was it as infuriating as the first time I read it. I instantly realized why I had forgotten how it ended. So many timeskips, so many asspulls, so many outright contradictions, so much bullshit. God DAMN.
If it infects Killua, it'd probably show something stupid like how Killua already had murderous desires but suppresses them.
I mean, he was pretty sadistic at the start of the series.
Ging isn't omniscient dumbfuck. when Gon was apologizing to Ging about kite Ging says "You didn't clearly say he was dead or alive, but either way you should apologize." how would he have known that Kite had his brain eaten by the ant queen and used his super special reincarnation ability that can only be used in that specific situation? The ability is obviously something completely different.
>two little boys (Gon) in front of him naked
what do you think
I'm sure he maps out his stories before writing them, but as he actually gets into the detail/draws it, he probably realizes better ways to do things, which ends up leaving plot holes and so on.
It's a problem with any long-running shonen.
He wasn't as perfect as pic related
Yes, but my point was Togashi wouldn't have written Ging to mention that at all if it wasn't relevant to Kite's death. You're parsing it as if it's real life, when it's a story.
>Actors don't get plastic surgery so they can fit their role in a movie, anon. The most probable theory is that it's all makeup and cosplay.
Actors don't play just one role, you fucking spastic. The Zodiacs do.
The more I read the worse your arguments seem
"What about Tsubome?"
I don't see how this is even an argument, she developed an ability with conjuration that uses materialization, you say they don't even need an ability to change their appearance.
Please, just shut up with your head canon bullshit.
I watched the first 2 arcs of YYH and it was a fine shounen battle thing. There weren't any overt flaws, but it wasn't very remarkable either. I'm dumbfounded that the person who wrote YYH was also behind Chimera Ant.
It doesn't say anywhere that bringing someone back to life can't be fulfilled.
>According to Killua, the degree of wish that Alluka can grant is probably infinite.
Assuming hunter x hunter uses souls for reincarnation, then I imagine CA Kite's soul would return to original kite, along with any new memories.(killing CA kite)
>got more control over his work.
And that lead into endless HiatusxHiatus.
But yeah, plenty of elements in Yu Yu Hakusho feel like editors meddling with Togashi, trying to make his manga more popular.
Feels like Togashi wanted to do the Ghost Detective bit for a long time but the resurrection got rushed out the door. Then he became a Spirit World Detective but that got thrown out the door in a handful of chapters too, turning the story into yet another pure fighting manga.
Post Toguro Togashi admittedly lifted the psychics from another mangaka but that was also thrown out for more simple fighting.
And the Makai arc is just a holocaustic mess.
Perfect timing to foreshadow a hidden ability, so it doesn't come off as an asspull later on.
>You're parsing it as if it's real life, when it's a story.
So you're saying because it's a story, a character cant be wrong? Even though Kite died because he underestimated Pitou? Interesting.
I agree, though I could see enough similarities that it was unsurprising. I really loved the characters in yyh and it had good fights, but it was very standard in comparison to hxh. I just hope he doesn't end hxh in the same way.
Is HxH worth it? Seems like it'll never actually finish. I hear the 2011 anime ends at a satisfying point, so I'm tempted to just watch that and then pick up the manga if it ever finishes.
>doesn't have the turkey
Guys can we start a kickstarter or something to get Togashi off his ass? I'm sure if all the HxH fans around the world pitch in, we can raise enough for him to write this fucking DC arc with no hiatuses in between.
>upped the gay 200%
>removed Kite's importance
>changed things around but couldn't be assed to actually do something interesting with the direction, aside from Hisoka's orgasm scene
>Implying watching the anime is bad
This is one of the rare series when the anime is more enjoyable than the manga, the illustration gets so fucking lazy by Togashi, some chapters are ruined because the drawing is so bad.
>Is HxH worth it
It's a weird shonen battle manga.
It has a fun and fairly interesting power system that's introduced pretty late into the story.
It has good fights and setups for the fights (I particulary liked the Greed Island arc which is essentially a videogame).
The characters are decent, though they're not very developed and a couple of them just drop out of the story.
It's also a light read. I would recommend it.
I didn't watch the recent anime adaptation but from what I saw here it's pretty good. I'd still pick the manga over anime, though.
Something. Anything. Surely for enough money, Togashi will do something.
I am dying from no HxH. I've collected every volume, watched the 99 series a bunch of times, currently rewatching 2011..
What is it that he wants then? Why hasn't he cancelled the manga already?
Watch it, some parts might actually have you in tears. I marathoned it and the CA arc with Komugi literally hit me pretty hard. It was too beautiful.
The hiatus is not a money thing, he already get a lot of money for do nothing, and have some health problems. I don't think he would start drawing again just because some weebs offer him some cash.
Also advertising any other website is a bannable offense.
I knew I was gonna get this reply. I've had this argument many times before but I'll just reiterate.
Leorio isn't very relevant in the first place, removing one or two lines of characterization doesn't matter.
>upped the gay 200%
>removed Kite's importance
No it didn't. It just placed it at the beginning of Chimera Ant instead of the first episode.
>changed things around but couldn't be assed to actually do something interesting with the direction, aside from Hisoka's orgasm scene
Episode 116 is probably the best directed anime episode I've ever seen.
Uh, the anime added in a lot of gayness
>leads into fighting
>so much fighting
>a few chapters of Togashi getting off his ass after abandoning his manga and doing whatever
It's an interesting fighting manga. But it's still a manga about people fighting. It had tournament arcs for fucks sake.
Damn right. Chimera Ant juggled like 15 character journies all at once.
By this logic, Evangelion and Lotgh are fighting shows. Heavens Arena is the ONLY battle shounen arc in HxH (and also the shortest, iirc).
The Hunter Exam, Heaven's Arena, Greed Island, and Chimera Ant were all battle shonen arcs mostly about fighting.
The only two arcs that weren't really about the fighting were Yorknew and the Election and they still had plenty of fighting in them.
>bitching about it solves nothing.
I'm aware of that, but it's fucking ridiculous how HxH is on hiatus all the time. We've had nothing for so long.
>And money will not cure a recovering back injury
Is he actually injured, though? I thought that was an excuse to play Dragon Quest or whatever.
hxh is battle shounen without a doubt, hunter exam and GI are just as much battle shounen as heavens arena is.
It still minimises tropes and fights so calling it a fighting manga really downplays it but it is what it is.
>Considering that the poorly drawn chapters are the majority
But they aren't the majority, have you even read the manga? I can post as many of these as you'd like.
Which is why I prefer to call HxH just shounen, not battle shounen. That term has a negative stigma. There are already too many people who misunderstand what HxH is because they see the "gay" meme and Gon smiling screencaps.
The shitty scan quality on that image isn't helping, but that's not some sort of god-tier art. He's a mid-tier artist at best. Togashi's strength has always been the story over the visuals.
>Leorio isn't very relevant in the first place, removing one or two lines of characterization doesn't matter.
Except it does. When adapting a manga, you have to keep the fans of it in mind and Leorio is a popular character among them.
How is it a meme when they literally have Killua stare longingly at Gon all the damn time, made Gon strip Killua with a smile on his face, milked the scene of Killua with his shirt off, and had that kissing scene in >>120758562
Face it, the adaptation is fujo bait.
>No it didn't. It just placed it at the beginning of Chimera Ant instead of the first episode.
They only showed bits of it instead of the full story.
>Episode 116 is probably the best directed anime episode I've ever seen.
Watch more anime.
>What is it that he wants then? Why hasn't he cancelled the manga already?
For the love of art. In the story arc chimera seemed to give a message, that's artistic noncommercial. It is a theory
Posting what? Simple close ups with generic tone backgrounds?
He did fix most of the scribbles in the tanks, but people who followed this from the get go had to endure the scribbles after weeks of shit all.
You thought wrong fucktard, the only thing that's been stated is that he went into surgery for a back injury. People make up shit like dragon quest memes because they think insulting Togashi online is gonna make him write more chapters.
