Araragi is alright though, which is all that matters
You have no fucking idea how terrible french dubs are, I used to watch Naruto in french when I was a little runt and it was earbleedingly bad. English dubs are horrible but French dubs manage to be even more awful.
I was about to chalk it up to me being around les quebecois all the time that the accent sounded weird to me, but if you say that it's weird, I definitely believe you.
I could do better than that in grade school
She speaks like an old woman and her pronunciation of certain words sounds a little too hard.
It's not horrible but I'd probably get a headache from listening to that for 20 minutes.
Aggaggagis voice is pretty great for a french dub though.
There are bad dubs, that's not even questionable, but there's many good dubs too, look at some of the low-cost dubs like SAO or many (not all!) from Kaze (Fuck french Fate, fuck french dubbed Negima, these were horrible)
People don't even watch them because "eww french cooties", but goddamn, if you can't appreciate good old dubs from the La Kaz on Canal +, it's not a question of taste, it's a question of hearing troubles. (And GTO isn't AS good as everyone says, many voices are pretty bad in there, Onizuka's saves everything)
>never watch dubs
>see this thread
>might aswell see how shit my favourite show turns out to be in my language for fun
>it's actually great https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=svqnNq2fOb4#t=418
Shame that apparently in the last few years we've got less and less stuff, and now it's almost only popular shounenshit because likely to sell better.
Planetes sounded awesome.
Good old Beez treating its dubs right, even pieces of shit like Mai Otome and Gundam Seed Destiny, but giving us a glorious french dub for Gurren Lagann
Too bad none of their series actually sold because french fanboys are piece of shit who never buy stuff outside of shonen shit and Beez had to close down before selling everything at ridiculous low prices. Thanks for the late release of Tatami Galaxy and Five leaves, even at the brink of death, Beez
Are you retarded?
I grew up watching dubs because we had a lot of series licensed here.
It's not a matter of preferring Japanese over French, it's just the fact our dubbers voice are fucking scary and doesn't seem natural most of the time.
On the contrary, the French dubs of cartoons don't feel as awful.
GTO was average but I couldn't stand Tomoko's voice.
Thanks god, Kanzaki's voice was really nice.
I remember Noir dubs being pretty nice too (that good old time when they aired Noir/GTO and Madlax was the shit).
No, it totally is a question of "GLORIEUX NIHONGO > Tous les doublages sont du Ken le survivant"
Most of the dubs don't even get close to the level of HnK's gag dub. Also, most dub don't apply the DBZ formula anymore, apart from kids anime. There still are lousy actors/adaptator, but much less than there were in the 80/90's
>this doesn't sounds like arabic at all
The worst part about this is that they don't change how Araragi's voice sounds when he's thinking to himself. There's a whole lot of subtle audio mixing going on in Bakemonogatari that's hard to replicate.
