I liked this episode. It didn't make me cry or rage, but it did help further establish how bad the area has gotten. It was also good to see the gang lose for once, so that was at least different than the 90% other anime that follow the standard hero-always-wins set up.

also was impressed when they mentioned how saving the guy was only a temporary change. 9 out of 10 anime series are still into people not dying when they're killed, so it was nice to see a semblance of reason in a show.

overall, I can't say this is a masterpiece in the realm of media and literature, but I can say that it's doing far better than most anime out there. Which is sad for anime, but this is a step in the right direction.
