She's 9. She's naive and idealistic. She's believed what her book says about the Yattermen are noble protectors of justice and paragons of altruism, and the Dorombow a bunch of mean crooks and scammers who steal and lie and cheat and do other mean things for years, and her mother reinforced this belief.

Then, when she needs the help of those heroes, they actually shoot at her. She, a nine year old little girl whose only crime is to be not born inside the Yatterkingdom.

That's when she believes that some things are obviously lies. But, as a little 9 year old girl that is still fully naive and idealistic, all she does is to simply switch behavior that was associated to the good guys, like for example yelling how the bad guys have no place in the world, making a maniac laugh (stuff that Yatterman did). And the way she plan(ned) to enact vengeance was to give them a flick to the forehead to make them feel sorry for being meanies (even if that flick was to be made through some superpowerful flicking mecha - clearly, she and the two others don't forgive the Yattermen for shooting at them with lethal intent).

You might not get the context of the show. It's sort of a "turn everything upside-down" concept of an older slapstick comedy kids show where the roles are reversed.

Either watch a few eps of the 70's show, or the 2008 one to get a feel for what you are dealing with here (yes, it is "kind of" dumb. But it's meant for children originally).

Basically imagine it like this: Ash and the rest of his pals (maybe) end up becoming villains, and Team Rocket is now the heroes of the show.
