I can't think of any that I haven't posted in one page threads so here is one that most people have read instead
Is that due to the release rate or because people don't like the current arc? I think it's a pretty clever take on Red Cliffe and the participation of Zuo Ci makes a shit ton of sense even if it wasn't in the records. The timing and his mastery of astrology just clicks.
best girl won, but the manga was boring
Yeah, I really didn't liked much and I found the whole motif of parts pretty stupid, even more than the previous hand one he wrote. Another thing is that I really didn't liked the MC, he felt pretty two dimensional alternating from I'm secretely a creep trying to put a good front to gain your trust to being OP as fuck whenever it needed to the point he stopped a few conflicts in whatever eastern country he was while rescuing hundreds of girls and so on.
this, probably because the lead characters are fucking insufferable.
Literally Autism: The Manga. I don't think it even has scanlations online.
I'll be nice since I am tired.
They travel back from the past to the present day and the whole world is back to "normal." Old enemies team-up with them, there is a new villain and "Season 1" ends on a cliff hanger.
But that's exactly why it's so great! We haven't even formed the 3 kingdoms yet! It's gonna at least rival Shana-Oh Yoshitsune in volumes before it ends unless the author dies early.
But then again, you are right about how massive it is. I only just realized that LYH has gone from getting his ass beat by Xu Chu to wrecking him over all these years.
Maybe it's just me, but chinese doesn't translate to english as well as japanese from an aesthetic pov. Like, japs use R for L names, but we all know R sounds more edgy than L so that automatically makes it cooler. Does anyone else get that impression?
Aside from those I already knew from Dynasty Warriors and a few somewhat important characters like Yuan Fang, Xu Ding, etc., I never really cared for the names. I still call LYH's master as Big Boss with an awesome beard.
Thank fuck. I was just looking that the raws and even the blonde girl dies.
Has she and the MC hooked up yet?
It can also be quite cheesy or hamfisted in delivering its nuggets of wisdom. I personally like it. I'm not sure what the influence is, but it reminds me of those old Chinese dramas. Others would prefer more subtlety though, which is understandable.
It's meant to be cheesy and hamfisted, it's style is supposed to reflect how Chinese cultural folklore was portrayed and passed on. Even the art has a distinct brush stroke style to it giving it an authentic impression.
The subtlety is mostly saved for the twists and tactics. I doubt anyone figured out the identity of the traitor/trumpcard in Guandu, let alone how they managed to pull off the fire attack at Red Cliffe.
>Timeskip before the final battle
> MC sacrificed himself and stole his descendant's magic power
> MC made magic nonexistent
No that's from Gunka no Baltzar, it's totally different timeline wise and location. It's an alternate universe take on Prussia and Bavaria and how Prussia kept pissing everyone off trying to unify it's neighbors.
Too bad no one is scanning it anymore ;_;
I've tried to. The catch-up isn't even that bad compared to other series I've caught up on (OP, Ippo).
There's just something in me that says "don't bother." I don't know why. I love the anime. I've heard the manga is better than the anime, and I wouldn't be surprised.
It's incomparably better for the most part. But as for your reason, maybe it's just you need time to forget some of it fresh in your mind so that you can read it all from the beginning.
The anime doesn't cover the best arc though, which covers a lot of things brought up in the previous arcs, including the first one. The internet was pretty much HELL YEAH MOTHER FUCKER during that arc.
>psycho cop has his hand back
>mc looking beast
>bully bitch at the ready
>possession bitch is on the good guys side
For fucks sake where the hell are translations for this? With how slow the releases are coming I'd get faster access by paying for the damn thing when the latest volume comes out in NA.
Hell the damn spinoff is updating more frequently than the main series and the sad part is its better.
I tried reading that series for awhile, it's way to dry
I don't recommend pic related and the only other one I've read that I never see on /a/ is chaosic rune. Which is a bit of a shame because it's like yugioh with like monsters that cause you to die if they die.
Was surprised to see a group had finally picked this up, only to stop because of lack of members. Oh well.
sad it'll take a long time for the translations to get to this part
This shit right here. I read it purely out of passing through it on some manga list.
It almost feels like something that would have been discussed on /a/ at some point. The beginning was alright and felt like it was going somewhere but then it just Altered beast you in the end. I still don't know if I hate it, or like it.
I will never be able to finish reading this.
I bought what came out in English, sad it will never be completed. My mom enjoys it, she used to do homecare for people with special needs.
That is a strange series, but people do bet on stupid shit all the time. Adding tits and ass to the mix can make anything work.
I'm surprised and glad anyone put in the effort at all.
The manga's not amazing but it's pretty nice to see realistic equipment in manga form. And they're even holding hockey sticks properly too! I don't know why so many artists fuck up on this.
Going by what I remember of the comic and the film I don't think the author knew what they were going for as an ending
Still an interesting experience, I find it matches well with Gin-iro no kami no Agito.
>I bought what came out in English, sad it will never be completed. My mom enjoys it, she used to do homecare for people with special needs.
Heard the mangaka passed away, not able to finish. There are omnibus volume collections that are worth it. Glad to see others know about it.
>there was an animated movie
I didn't know this. Just skipped through it. Looked pretty bad. Atleast they got rid of the zeus race I guess, which honestly wouldn't have been so bad if it wasn't for the mangas ending & overall easy cop out explanation of everything. Atleast the art was good though!
I love this series.
And this. Dropped by maigo and then picked back up a year later... RAWs are around 7 volumes ahead at least.
This was complete, last I checked. Art was great, though I couldn't find anything else by the artist.
Also posting pic related
And nobody will read more because there is no fucking translator ;_;
Anybody ever read this before?
It pissed me off how everyone shat on that big guy, and then the ending pulled that "we cannot be together for an arbitrary amount of time but it all works out" bullshit.
Some people think it's the definitive romance manga. Well, it's certainly frustrating enough to represent the genre.
never seen anyone here talk about this one
Everyone should check out Hox's blog of manga to read, there's some obscure stuff like this. Never seen a discussion for this Gyo meets Akira meets Narutaru manga.
One of the best things I've ever read. So underrated.
Fuck you for making me remember that that shit exists. I don't remember when the last time I raged so hard because of a manga, who in hell think that time skipping for centuries right before the final battle was a fucking good idea? Fuck that mangaka, fuck him so hard.
The mango was never translated despite winning some awards. Good characterization, neat mythology, and one of the most bizarre endings around.
Merc has never forsaken us. He's completely caught up with the raws in translations. Ki Shodar was the one who had to retire getting all burned out re-drawing at a god tier level on a daily basis for over a year.
Yudy is acceptable, but he's not as skilled nor is his grasp of English for proofreading as good. Then you add in that we caught up with the raws at one point and we're using shitty magazine scans instead of tanks it's all downhill.
From the one who made Law of Ueki. I like that his battles always involves strategy instead of raw powerlevel.
it's kinda like Pokemon but replace the monsters with traps
>you'll never be a lesbian monarch who sinks the economy by constantly adding women to your harem collection.
>Art was great, though I couldn't find anything else by the artist.
His new series is about a high school delinquent detective, of all things.
There aren't any tits in it though
I'm thinking of mostly focusing on Sangokushi this year to try and wrap it up. It's already my 6th year working on it, Jesus...
I did promise another anon I'd do Zettai Anzen Kamisori, but I think that'll have to wait a little longer.
This thing here. It seems that only and like 4 other anons read it.
Also Peridot, Ciguatera and that one about the internet scams and the shota detective
So no Historie this year? A tiny part of me wants to see the conclusion of the current arc but the better part is telling me there's no way Iwaaki's finished the battle right now.
You'd be surprised by how popular Sangokushi still is in Japan. There're reprints constantly being made and you can find it at just about any convenience store in those "convenience store versions" that pack like 2~3 volumes in one mini-sized book.
I'll be done with chapter 89 in 15 min. I actually didn't realize it came out last month, hence the long delay.
I'm not saying it isn't popular. I'm saying kids most likely were introduced to it by video game first, since it's very unlikely Sangokushi's volume colors would immediately grab the attention of today's generation of kids in 2015 if you catch my drift.
However, the moment they've been introduced from playing a video game or two, their interest might pique and give it a shot when they walk by a convenience store and see it.
But just normally without a shred of idea what the hell it's about? I don't think so.
Yeah, games are definitely the most common way kids these days first learn about it, but I'm not sure why you made your initial implication, since I never implied any such thing. On a side note, I actually started out by reading the manga without ever having played any related videogames or watching any related media.
That what happened what Manga artist become Fist of the north star fan
I made it because you said I'd be surprised, implying you thought I thought Sangokushi isn't popular in Japan. That was not the case.
But as for how you started, that sounds like the Hox we all know.
Anybody recall seeing this around back when there was an anime/manga shortage, so you read whatever you got your hands on?
I've tried discussing it here before but apparently nobody reads Nobunaga no Chef.
I do, but SCS dropped it and there's not much to discuss to begin with. It's just a good series so far.
It's basically in the same state as Jin, if not worse as far as release readiness is concerned right now.
You can check SCS's site for the reason, they were pretty sad about it too. Maybe you could help out with it Hox? Nobunaga no Chef seems right up your alley for historical fun time shenanigans.
Oh wait, you have too much shit on your plate already. Forget I said anything man.
Oh, yes, of course. Then again I don't see why entire scanlator groups would just drop a manga. They always advertise for new potential members but shit you'd think one afternoon on Deviantart would fix that for them.
Advertising doesn't mean qualified candidates who work well with them would come up easily. Would you really wanna put your trust in random Deviantart kids just to have them no show and waste your time?
light shounen ai (still less gay than Kuroshitsuji)
Only the first volume has been scanlated, but holy fuck is it a great volume. Highly recommended.
Pretty rare to see it mentioned even less discussed on /a/
It's man, that he barely even knows
Don't read it.
Try 900 tough guy.
But speaking of which, I should really continue with zettai karen children.
Watch the anime too,
please stop axing all my favorite things japan
either it was axed or the author was like "lets end this series in 3 more chapters with little to no explanation about whats happening"
Also a villain character was foreshadowed like 5 chaps before the final chap never to be heard from again.
Loved this till the author was told to finish it in 3 chapters leaving a ton of plot holes.
Wishing It'll get a sequel or an anime adaptation but it seems unlikely.
You must be also one of the three people who read SnK and One Piece, first to finish Naruto because it was a hidden gem and watched this "New Sega Bible chapter" or something like that.
I didn't expect to be caught red handed as being a newfag but I'm just glad that other people have read it, so thank you anon for alleviating the sinking feeling that it may not be popular enough for a reboot.
Apparently the series is over too but I cant find the final chapters anywhere.
I never see this being mentioned or any image about it being posted, but this manga is fucking hilarious.
And it doesn't even need a translation.
It's still not getting a reboot. We're talking a series that got axed in WSJ. Jump magazines don't let you take their shit elsewhere, and they won't reboot either.
Otherwise Mx0 and Double Arts would have revived ages ago.
>mfw Mahmut went full 1453 WE FUKKE UR MATHERS! in last chapter
actually in manga it seems yurop and ottomans switched their roles
>balt-rhein conquering the phonecia
>turkiye desperately keep their nation united while looking for allies and secure other trade routes
King of Hell is more or less Dragon Ball meets DMC and yet I'm consistently the only person who's ever fucking heard of it.
Maybe people just don't give a fuck about manhwa.
Oh boy, this is turning surprisingly funny.
This Manga is just ridiculously awesome.
Fucking masterpiece, those sweet stories was excellent.
Gon a badass, underrated character and Manga.
I really love this Manhwa, the action, the comedy and the fights are outstanding. Updates fucking where?
Pic related, I'm really sure I'm the only one here who read Zombie Stands with black magic.
Anyone read this? Great story eventhough can be stupid and dragged at some time.
I actually just know about Hittite after read this.
>Maybe people just don't give a fuck about manhwa.
I read 50 chapters of this years ago but it was mediocre and I just stopped because I caught up to the latest scanlations at the time.
Too bad it got axed, since they give more hindsight on the DMC demons. Also it looks like Pandemonium it's a thing.
I just read this yesterday. It was good, but the final arc with the aliens and the ending similar to Saber Marionette was meh.
Anybody else read this? Found it months ago in an image dump thread but translation never moved beyond a few chapters.
Read all off these.
So all those that I mentioned were fairly popular at some point in the last 10 years.
I don't think you guys understand the meaning of ONLY
