With the huge popularity of male sports shows, how come there is little to no female sports shows?
Did Taishou Yakyuu Musume count as female sport show?
From 2010 onwards we've had
Ace of Diamond
Ginga e Kickoff
Area no Kishi
Shin Prince of Tennis
End of Cross Game
The only sport anime with girls in charge was ace wo nerae. I heard about something with baseball that isn't >>120499806 too, but I can't remember it's title.
Not only in anime and manga anon. The world cares very little about female sports. Maybe Tennis and Volleyball female department have more popularity, but in general, people don't give a fuck about woman playing stuff.
It's only natural that anime and manga would stay away from it.
We had plenty of them in the past.
But now all-male cast is much more common because fujo will jump on it (with all the money and doujins and popularity it means) even when there is little or no pandering.
Also, one of these in the pic isn't full of superpowers bullshit like the rest.
Cross Ange covered it for the next ten years, so you can't really complain.
Sports is too broad of a genre. The tag only says that a sport used as the basis. It doesn't say whether or not its the main focus or not.
Ping Pong by definition was a "sports" anime because it included ping pong but the sport played could've been anything if the storyline and characters were kept the same. I guess in that sense it wouldn't be a sports anime but a anime that happened to include the sport of table tennis.

That makes no sense. The same thing can be said for any sports anime.
>Taisho Yakyuu Musume
>Aim for the Ace
>Attack on Tommorrow
>Ayane's High Kick
>Angels on the Court
Promise me not to laugh

What he meant was that the actual sport was not the focus of the story - the characters were.
I don't watch Motorcross either and this isn't even the best video to show how bad women are at it. They're overall slower, fall down way more and take less risks.
Basically the reason why nobody watches any female sports like soccer, basketball, hockey etc, you might as well watch the boy's junior league, theyre the same skill level
Off topic, but this is probably the most subdued sports anime I've seen.
That image has been uncorrected for far too long.
it really isn't that special though.
Is pleasing old men for money a sport?
