Why can't scanlators have consistent naming schemes, fuck.
Also this shit's the absolute worst
This makes automatic sorting a complete fucking mess.
Kill me. At least fansubbers are consistent with the names most of the time.
different scanlation groups. go suck daiz's dick if you want unity in manga scanlation you fucking asskissing shit. Anime fansubbing is dead because of daiz
>Dantalian no Shoka
>automatic sorting a complete fucking mess.
haha go cry on /g/ you fucking lolicon pedophile
The problem isn't that different groups use different naming schemes. A lot of groups can't name anything consistently.
Most people don't understand how filesystems work.
This would put it in this order:
ch 01 > ch10 > ch2
Half the issue comes from people not knowing that you need that 0 on single digit chapters, assuming the naming is consistent.
It's not like there's any way to enforce it. I've seen some groups start using it but there's very little anyone can do about it unless some centralized service for scanlations pops up.
Most of the reason for this stupidity is that named chapters get taken down frequently on hosting sites, best way to subvert this is to use a good host like MU, get,it, zipshare or sendshare, and stop with the horrible mediafire.
Best of all would be a personal FTP, but eh, can't be too picky.
Didn't Daiz come up with some turboautistic naming scheme for manga some time ago?
Ahaha oh wow, that's some oldskool landwhale scanlation.
Look at Fallen Syndicate, several DDLs, only reader, and full on fujoshi lineup.
Not at all like most landwhale scanlators and their sekrit AUTHORIZED MEMBERS ONLY YOU MUST MAKE 20 POSTS TO DOWNLOAD club
I've encountered them quite frequently some 2-3 years ago, but recently they just seemed to have died off, at least for the manga I read.
Maybe Apple fixed the issue on OSX's end, I don't know, but at least I'm glad my mcomix isn't shitting itself anymore.
Hepburn romanized Manga Title Name - English translated manga title name if available c001-XXX v001 [Group][batutu/sengmanga].ext
is the objectively correct naming scheme less special characters and because not all manga go beyond chapter 999 and get compiled into tankobon.
However a lot of people still put volume numbering before chapter numbering, or even add volume numbering when there's not even a volume in the first place.
Also including the place you ripped it from seems like a bit of a waste if you're ripping it from a decent source.
objectively correct filename scheme
manga title initials_chapter_001_p000.ext
manga title initials_chapter_001_p999a TRANSLATOR NOTES and CREDITS.ext
manga title initials_chapter_001_p999c DONATIONS/GROUp RECRUITMENT
manga title initials_chapter_001_p999d group /prozess level insane rants
padding it to be 099 is much uniform but just 99 is okay too
>However a lot of people still put volume numbering before chapter numbering, or even add volume numbering when there's not even a volume in the first place.
yeah, I know that my objectively correct naming scheme will never catch on outside this thread because it all boils down to the end user's capacity to give a fuck about this things.
>Also including the place you ripped it from seems like a bit of a waste if you're ripping it from a decent source.
I'm kind of imagining archiving my lewd manga somewhere then 15 years later another guy will download it with filename intact, wondering what the fuck is /a/, madokami, or batoto

That looks pretty fun to be honest.
It's been over six months since the last revision of the Daiz Naming Scheme and the only criticism people seem to have about it is "It's made by Daiz"/"I don't like it"/"It's ugly" so it should work pretty well.
>manga title initials_chapter_001_p999a TRANSLATOR NOTES and CREDITS.ext
>manga title initials_chapter_001_p999c DONATIONS/GROUp RECRUITMENT
>manga title initials_chapter_001_p999d group /prozess level insane rants
These pages should be specific and not tied to the chapter pages, something that will always end up last like.
Judging from the rest of his post, try to imagine some kid finding this shit 15 years from now and looking at it with a disgusted look in his face saying "this was a thing back then?".
>These pages should be specific and not tied to the chapter pages, something that will always end up last like.
with the appended letters like p000a works for that very purpose at least for win7 fucking freebsd is no fun.
I'm kind of just showing the format
manga title initials_chapter_001_p000 could be
manga title initials_c001_p000 or something
p is for page heh.
