Is there a game, movie or series you'd ever want to see adapted into an anime?
Hard mode: Choose the studio that'll animate it
Atelier Ayesha or Rorona. Ayesha will cover Keith's events as the main story, while Rorona will go full SoL. If I have to choose one, I choose Ayesha. Animated by Ufotable or IG.
I still don't understand why they adapted Escha & Logy while it is the shittier one of the 2 Dusk games (Shallie might change that though, but I am rather optimistic about it). inb4 to advertise the game. Fuck that shit.
I wonder how generics or new team members would be handled. Having a huge team could make for tough scene building. And limiting the huge team to six active fighters would look dumb.
Seeing Ramza power through the story with no generics would be interesting. Ramza and Delita only, then with Algus, then with Gafgarion, Agrias, and crew.
Ayesha, Growlanser IV, Valkyrie Profile or Radiata Stories.
Good luck with that, Squaresoft always preferred to animate completely original shitty stories rather than adapt its most successful titles for some inexplicable reason. Square Enix ain't any better.
as long as the vibe / style is similar it would be great
Infinite Space, by Xebec.
It's a bit crazier than Yamato 2199, but it'll be a fun ride.
The Witcher 1 and 2 by Satelite
Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky by ufotable or Madhouse
Nekopara by XEBEC
World End Economica by Brains Base or JCStaff
Armored Core V by Sunrise
The Belgariad by Satelight
Kill Bill by Shaft
Ace Combat 5, 2cour with each mission being an episode, with an Ace Combat Zero OVA
A Dark/Demon's Souls anime could be very cool.
Every episode should be about chosen undead killing things, bosses, and shit and then some lore explanation about the place this guy visited based on the testimonies of NPCs
Ace Combat 5 is good, but it's no challenge to Ace Combat 3: Electrosphere.
X-49 Night Raven animated by Shaft or Trigger would be so fucking ultimate that I would need a whole fucking box of tissue boxes.
Books that could make good anime. Though I'm not up to date enough with studios to know which could do each one well.:
The Black Company
Dancers At The End of Time (actually, anything by Moorcock)
The Mario & Luigi RPGs.
Two bros going on an adventure. They can't fucking speak anything but Italian-sounding gibberish and bursts of English so you know they ain't gonna be doing no sanctimonious shounen hero speech bullshit.
Fights are highly acrobatic affairs with the brothers flying all over the place, kicking shells and using various tools like they're Wile E. Coyote.
Everything else is broken up with Buster Keaton-esque environmental slapstick.
Basically it's like Milky Holmes, but with plumbers.
I just want to pour oil all over her and have her rub her naked body against my hard-on.
As long as Kojima actually wants to write it.
And an untold story would work way better than any adaption. A huge part of the atmosphere of the games comes from the slow pace of stealth and the feeling that you're the one controlling Snake/Raiden, making him kill.
I'm down, so long as they make Raiden as trappish as possible.
Dune, I'm not sure who should animate it though.
I disagree, it's all about the player exploring and discovering things at their own pace and challenging their own skills in order to experience those things in the first place.
An anime just... gives all of that to you.
The Name of the Wind. Whatever studio did Rage of Bahamut.
Brainsbase would be fine.
I think this would make a great anime, super cool world with just the right amount of suffering.
I want a Planetarian movie.
I can't help it, she's such a naughty fairy.
Imagine you're just jerking off one day and look down as you ejaculate to see she has stealthily blocked your cumshot with her nude body, catching every last drop and moaning sensually as she feels the rush of being covered completely in hot, fresh cum.
The best choice is obviously Touhou - Ufotable.
If she's evil then it stands to reason that she'd be pretty kinky too, wouldn't it?
Man, even if it would be a trainwreck like the first, I'd love to see DGR 2 The Animation. Its cast is far more compelling than the first's (moreso when you have to condense them into anime characters), and the overall plot just makes for a better anime than game in comparison to DGR 1.
Would you said you'd love to let her control your Ouroboros?
>the sad realization that the special only exists to hype up Alisha more and trick people into thinking she's more than a side character.
No way, the story would be so much better with generics.
You have Ramza and the main characters acting as the leaders of this outfit filled with young recruits and a few old cronies who were just doing their job before they got swept up in Ramza's drama.
Divide up the generics into small squads under different main characters and every now and then you can introduce a few more formally just to kill them off. Ramza is basically an unsung hero whose true story and heroic deeds were repressed by the Church, so it's only fitting that he is assisted by a bunch of average people who aren't really anyone special, but just people who were sympathetic to him and willing to sacrifice themselves for his cause.
This would help give the sense that in addition to Ramza, there were many fairly average and non-extraordinary people who nonetheless are heroes in their own right with no one to really mourn their deaths for the sake of truth, who didn't abandon the true hero in his time of need.
>Divide up the generics into small squads under different main characters and every now and then you can introduce a few more formally just to kill them off.
I can picture it now. They've accepted a mission that needs to be completed in a Jagd area, and the only people who know what's up with Jagds are the veterans, and they're conveniently out on their own missions since they're more capable. Ramza and co. head out, only to realize far too late that Jagds are lawless and a newbie generic (probably female for muh drama) tragically dies due to Ramza's inexperience, a la that one forced scene in SAO.
>not wanting Chrom NTR in animated form.
plebs, all of you.
You guys know this will never happen right? Squaresoft\Square Enix is "too smart" to make adaptions of its most successful games. They rather animate original stories likes Spirits Within or Final Fantasy Unlimited.
Everyone bitches about the DB chapters, but they were actually fun and challenging only gary stu greil mercs chapters.
Micaiah is insane, always make mistakes and has a bad backstory, but at least is not an unstoppable force.
Oh boy, I get to post this.
I have some fighting games I'd like to see adapted.
Soul Blade/Soul Calibur (as in the first game) by Studio MAPPA. Maybe 2, too? I'm not sure if that's a good stopping point for the plot and it starts flying out of control by 3.
Rival Schools or Darkstalkers or even
MvC in spite of all logiccourtesy of Trigger. Yes, Trigger.
I'd also like to see Kikaioh/Tech Romancer, but I'm not really sure what studio I'd go for. It's mecha, so Sunrise is always a safe bet...
And then there's Pic Related, which isn't strictly a fighting game. It'd be a
funkid's anime but once again I'm not sure who I'd want to handle it.
It'd be more accurate to have something like that happen to Delita.
More likely Delita would get his whole squad fucking killed and throw a fit when he's expected to just leave their bodies because they're not of high enough rank to be too concerned about.
But instead is a beautiful super-special silver haired half-laguz teenage leader of the revolutionary army that is adored by many and almost the constant center of attention. She also has the unique ability to heal others at the cost of her own health and has a dark side that craaaaaaawls in her skiiiiiiiiiiiin during several battles. As much as I like FE in general as well as the story behind PoR and RD, the resemblance to a self-indulgent fanfiction written by an autistic Sothe fangirl is absolutely uncanny. To reiterate, I still like the games but you can't say you don't see it. Oh yeah, and she's also
the true empress of Begnion and is Sanaki's long lost older sister. If I didn't know any better, I'd say the writers did it on purpose.
You know a "Holocaust survivor" who made friends back with the prime minister in the 60's called for a more open border policy for Sweden but called anybody asking the same thing of Israel an "anti-semite"? Sweden should have whistled and looked the other way as he was shot by left over Nazis.
>mfw Sweden still ended up recognizing Palestine
One day we'll see an Armored Core anime.
I want to see this turned into an anime by Brains Base. Each book would be a cour, and it would be like a long-running LN adaptation like Raildex or Monagatari, but better. As it is already one of the greatest stories ever told Trigger wouldn't have to worry about writing, but could just focus on making it fun as fuck to watch, perhaps with three or four unrelated arcs per cour.
>Croesus' great cavalry battle outside the walls of Sardis
>historically-accurate but still dramatic as fuck depiction of the Battle of Thermopylae and the subsequent naval encounters
>cute SOL arc about a young Scythian man and his imouto, showcasing the culture of Scythians
>all with historically accurate settings and character design
I know it's a pipe dream, but I'm salivating right now just thinking about it.
>That's well known.
BD is a full game, don't know why you insist on this.
If it's because of the repeated bosses: they had a purpose, and they barely took time.
Non repeated content were like 50-60 hours of gameplay, that's enough for a full handheld release.
Revo probably didn't want to do the second game because he never likes doing the same things.
Don't forget Shinon/Gatrie (bros for life) Boyd/Oscar (brotherly love) and Rhys/Keiran (my sides). I know there's more but it's been years and I can't seem to remember most of the characters. I do remember thinking it was bullshit that Rhys and Oscar never got supports since they were so similar but their personalities contrasted in some strange way that I can't quite describe. Oh well, no changing that now.
Fire emblem: sacred stones.
It would be great to see those twins in a slopy action.
Dragon age origins would translate to anime really well, think about it. Big evil, multiple races, multiple love interests, a tsundere, a "pure" nun, best bro Alistair, slutty homo elf, medieval fantasy.
if there were an anime id imagine it would only make sense to follow some of the random Undead and Key Players in the world before the games take place.
likely ones that have already died or have turned up at the end of their journey in the games. Similar to a fan made comic about Benheart and Lucatiel.
Id like to see what happened the Gwyn's knights when Artorias went after Manus. the Political games in Anor Londo between Seethe (capturing the princess guard for experiments while going mad), Gwynevere (abandoning her brother and capital with Flan), Gwyn (understanding the sacrifice he would have to make, unsure of the world he would leave behind), Gwyndolin (who was always shunned but wishes to preserve the Legacy and punish betrayal), and the Knights of Gwyn (who had the power to leave or overthrow everything be carried out their duties despite knowing there would be no happy ending). It would probably be a lot like the Golden Age arc of Berserk, cause we all know everything goes to shit and the world gets depressing.
Bones and I.G. Productions could probably handle it.
Crusades anime by BONES or Madhouse
Odin Sphere would be neat if they handled shifting perspectives well enough.
It's right up SHAFT's alley.
by Madhouse, naturally. Twilight Venom never happened. 4th Detonator can suck a dick. Vth Vanguard was alright in its own weird goffy ass way, but not great. It's really 2 and 3 mainly that I'd watch the ever loving shit out of.
>Season ends without a problem
>Season 2 is literally a rerun of season 1 with minor changes
>And season 3
>And season 4
>Show ends with
>First movie is 3 hours long as it goes through the endless 4 into the
True endingis only in the BRDVD of a collector's edition that requires you to buy all seasons of the anime
Did I get it right?
Would you watch an Alpha Centauri if
all the leaders were cute little girls
I never asked for it but Tower of Druaga was an excellent intermedia because it dodnt just retell the same story but actually build a whole world and lore on that obscure nes/arcade game.
Also awesome ska opening https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7EZABDpHeyk
>Knight Blazer transformation animated
And we get another version of this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z7cw4GXs5MQ
Chaos route of Tactics: ogre would be nice.
Especially with Katiue death by Denam's hand or her suicide.
An the end they would show how 200000 enemy troops set their sail to the islands while Denam goes to the ogre's dungeon to be the new one.
>get 4 6s
>4 and 6
As much as I like this game and the waifus associated with those numbers, I don't think it or its sequel could be properly adapted to anime, because in both cases the format of the narrative as as a game itself is critical to the plot unfolding.
The narration/the player's perspective was Child Akane the whole time. This is somewhat feasible to do in anime format but it wouldn't be perfect.
The anime would have to straight up lie to the player in regards to how Sigma appears, like in the short released before the game. This is fucking awful, to say the least, and ruins one of the best foreshadowed plot points in the game.
In both games
the whole meta aspect of the relationship between player knowledge and morphogenetic fields is just outright lost, which ruins one of the neatest things about them.
Basically what I'm saying is that the ZE series was a story made for the medium and takes full advantage of that fact in its telling, and loses a lot of impact if portrayed otherwise.
Do you just want Ravness dead?
That would be amazing, but who could do Kamitani's artwork justice?
I'm surprised how many Nintendo adaptations there are.
>The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!
>The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3
>Super Mario World
>The Legend of Zelda
>Saturday Supercade (Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr.)
>Captain N: The Game Master
>Donkey Kong Country
And for the actual anime,
>Super Mario Bros.: The Great Mission to Rescue Princess Peach!
>Amada Anime Series: Super Mario Bros.
>Kirby: Right Back at Ya!/Hoshi no Kirby
>Pokémon (regular TV anime/movies and other material like The Origin)
>Fire Emblem OVAs
>F-Zero: The Legend of Falcon
>Kid Icarus: Uprising animated shorts (dunno if these count since they never exactly were intended outside of game promotion)
>Animal Crossing movie
I wish Kancolle had an anime directed by someone who actually has an interest in warfare and /k/ stuff instead of just moe girls getting bombed out and shoehorning the game mechanics into an anime.
>Not going Law to save best girl and prevent your friend from becoming Uber-SatanHitler
The battle system is fun and you can make some really overpowered items but even on the highest level of difficulty the game is really easy. The new characters were cool and interesting but ultimately end up undeveloped, with returning characters barely getting any development either. The main plot issue
never gets resolved. Really. Beating the final boss is only a temporary fix.Alchemy starts off fun but eventually becomes extremely grindy as you try to reach 99 by synthesizing the same items over and over again. Not to mention all the bugs that we'll hopefully never see in the NA release.
You'll have to see for yourself, I guess. My post looks like all complaints but I still loved the game enough to order it in English even though I already played it in Japanese.
Brave Saga, by Sunrise.
Like that'll ever happen.
What's a Kira?
Riviera: The Promised Land
Monster girls and waifu wars will be had
And raped by nameless knights.
And NTR by the dark knight would be the best.
Well if you love french girls with wide hips then surely you'll find some...
Exactly. If it was just Link speak or they just never showed her speak, then it would be fine
And if they do, IF THEY DO, have her speak, and I swear to god Japan, DO NOT do what that abyssal piece of garbage did
Also while I'm here I want to complain about how
there are no character endings. There are just two endings for each protagonist(a "normal" end and a "good" end) and the true end which doesn't feel like a "true end" at all. Character specific endings were one of the things I always liked about this series, so seeing them removed was quite upsetting. There's also a disturbing lack of CGs compared to the last game.
Kikokugai adaptation by ufotable, it would be fucking amazing as a long movie.
Yea I heard about the bugs. But they fixed it right? Also, at least design wise I'm really liking the cast, compared to E&L (Ayesha still has the best though). Is it like Escha where you only have 1 city or is it like Ayesha where traveling is crucial? I'm really digging the latter. Also will it have wide open spaces for exploration like Ayesha or small rooms like Escha?
Welp, okay my expectation is low now.
I've only played the first MOTHER, but this is how I envisioned an anime adaptation
>Characters may have voice actors for stuff like grunts and maybe even attack names
>Dialogue is done with text boxes like the game itself
>Released as a short series, maybe as OVAs
>All music on the arrangement OST is used
>Some of the original 8-bit music can be used for tracks that never got arrangements on the OST
>Switches between animation and occasional gameplay footage, but the latter isn't overused
>Episodes end with Ninten calling his dad
EarthBound/MOTHER 2 seems more like something that would work as a traditional cour-long anime series.
Though you could probably just read the novelizations for the games if you're that interested in seeing it as just story.
I think this would be really badass. It already looks really slick and I feel like they could flesh out the side characters, the history, and the day to day interactions a little better, maybe throw in elenas side. 13 towers, 13 episodes its perfect
Everyday till they give me my Ar Tonelico 2: The Animation
All routes. 12 episodes. Studio doesn't matter, Madhouse maybe.
But only if they animate the bad ends before MC goes back and makes the right choice. Those side-quest choices that lead to party betrayal in particular
>loli goes full yandere and traps MC in alternate dimension to keep him safe
>tank/healer kills entire party because MC indirectly caused a loved to commit suicide
24+ episode reboot of Kino no Tabi, by Shaft or Artland or anyone besides ACGT, covering the new material.
I adore the series but the animation really doesn't hold up.
The game actually places a nice focus on exploration. There's a large variety of maps, some big, some huge, quite a few multi-room areas. Some maps that aren't towns but just NPCs chilling there and selling shit. There's a lot of small events you only get by travelling to certain places, or travelling on a certain route. It took me a while to unlock them all, which I thought was nice.
Unfortunately though, there's only two actual towns and only the main one matters.
That's exactly what I'm looking for (in terms of exploration). The small rooms in Escha were a huge disappointment. About towns, it is a little disappointing though. Thanks for your info, I'll definitely get the game.
An SMT game, especially DDS, since it had the most/best story in it.
Etrian Odyssey, by Madhouse, or whatever.
Each episode would be directed by a different director, and would be talking a different group of adventurers walking toward their death in the Labyrinth.
A Persona 1 or Persona 2:IS movie would be so good.
>the same team that did P4A and the P3 movie does it
seems like it would work well episodically
maybe if it does well they would make more games
Just get someone OTHER than JC Staff to adapt it.
>having to google [email protected]
I wish you were joking but it seems unlikely.
I got a Vita, and also got all the good ol' games I used to pirate (I can actually pay for stuff now) thru the Japanese PSN.
Vita protip: If you can read moon sufficiently well just go for Japanese PSN and ditch the USA one.
As long as you enjoy anime games the vita can't disappoint.
Well there's also Ys: Memories of Celcetta, Tales of Hearts R, Muramasa, Dragon's Crown, Senran Kagura, Akiba's Trip, and some Atelier ports. That's also just the stuff released in the US. If you read moonrunes the lineup expands to be a pretty worthwhile handheld
There's no such thing as a handheld that isn't worth it
>Ao no Kiseki
>Sen no Kiseki
Goddamnit, where's my localization for the rest of Sora no Kiseki, you bastards?
I want to watch this OVA without spoiling myself, damnit.
So I'm still playing Bravely Default. Trying to get to the Fire Temple the first time (already been spoiled on that much), and I'm really not seeing why people were praising this as one of the best games ever, or even on the 3DS. It's good, but underwhelming. I don't really want to see a show about it, I don't think. If nothing else, I don't think I could take 12-26+ episodes of Agnes being Agnes. It's unacceptable.
Dragon Quest IV.
How has this not happened already.
>Maasaki Yuasa directing a show at SHAFT
Golden Sun 1 & 2, maybe Dark Dawn.
It would be the rebirth of high fantasy animu, like Slayers.
Also, dat Felix's Theme - lots of that playing.
Diablo 2. Depending on who makes it, the mood of the game could either be tragedy or triumph. I'd prefer tragedy.
I just want animated fight scenes of the Necromancer/Assassin and the prime evils.
I would want Stalker.
I who would do something serious and grim but still make amazing campfire guitar scenes.
Is it still too soon, or has advancements in anime technology already have become capable of adapting Xenogears without fail?
There's enough dialogue in Ico to make a decent story. Besides, without ridiculous seiyuu costs on the budget, it could go towards animation, and reusing the soundtrack from the games would also cut costs, then we'd have some sick animation with already great music and shit. Kind of like what the Persona 3 movies did, and they turned out nice.
Getting a Soul Nomad Demon Path anime would be pretty sweet.
I guess they'd have to do the normal path though.
I don't follow studios
No, not even Ico.
The game is mostly composed of Ico solving puzzles with that girl companion around, having conversations would totally blow the plot of the whole thing; The white girl has been locked in that cage for her whole life and would be too amazed/overwhelmed to talk or learn how to talk before the very last cutscene.
I didnt actually play the whole game, even though I know the plot. So sorry if the game is not mostly composed of you and that girl. Whats her name for fucks sake, Yorda or something?
An artistic anime with little speech would be groundbreaking though.
I-Its not exactly like t-that!
I did play a bit of it once, reached a town in a desert, but then I lost track of it and deleted the save because I needed space for Wild Arms.
Which I also didnt finish, because I also lost track of what was going on.
You can go fuck yourself though.
Get a load of based fantastic-medieval themed stuff.
It already has several games and a manga.
Anime would be glorious.
>Normal hunters being ravaged by elder dragons
>Entire squad of 4 guys ravaged by chameleos
>Last guy runs away and hides in cave
>Tongue around his neck is the first thing to un-camoflauge
>Blood on walls
>Entire arcs devoted to hunting one elder dragon
Dont care who makes it but i want it to be edgy as fuck
>Get a load of based fantastic-medieval themed stuff.
Are you telling me to play FF9? I don't understand? I like stuff without robots too. And FF9 is great.
Xenogears is better
Watch/Read Escaflowne and Dunbine if you like fantasy
>recommending FF games for pure fantasy anything
I really loved the medieval-themed alien clone planet and the medieval-themed anti-magitek factory and the medieval-themed steampunk city
To what end? Hunters never actually die in-game, for one. And some monsters will attack you and your cat-person minions by farting on you. And Chameleos is a qt.
Though dedicating an entire arc to something like Raviente is a given.
Yeah, I was telling you to play it.
I'll check your recommendations.
Lain, at least in the three first episodes, isnt exactly illuminating in the "little speech" attribute.
I'll be sure to check out all of those.
>mfw I thought about making a thread looking for an image from Angel's Egg and ask for sauce but decided to lurk first
>has never played final fantasy 9
>but muh Ark and airships
Thats FF for you. A robot or two and a factory wont change the fact that everyone use swords, armors, chocobos and all of that.
There arent even handheld guns.
You fucking faggot nigger FFIX is not a typical medieval fantasy by any stretch
It's not fucking Tactics, it's definitely not FFXII
And to counter whatever retard point you were trying to make, FF games have giant robots in them too
so much pic related.
I'd rather japs make a cg movie out of it with the same amount of fanservice the game has.
>4chin: Chronicles of Faggotry, Studio Ghibli
Although I've shat on animu and called it every fucking name in the book, it's the only thing that's ever gotten my little brother and I to act like brothers.
That, and although it won't really affect you guys on /a/, Moot abandoning ship is like a signal flare for /b/ is kill.
Without that hellhole, I'm going to give up chans after 17 years of lurking and shitposting and finally get my shit together.
>TL;DR A movie because I'm going to miss you faggots, /b/ is kill, and today is my last day of dicking around offline
Atelier Arland series with a focus on Totori and Mimi being gay together.
Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced
>will is GAR as fuck
>big space angel battles
>tender pure love
My first pick would be Ogre Battle series, Tactics series or Fire Emblem series - you get a variety of characters where you can screw about their alignment, create full spectrum of characters--not just many shades of grey but many shades of other colours too. I fondly remember one of them ends with your lawful hero wiping off a helpless innocent village to keep the kingdom secure. That was cool.
Special mention: Radiant Historia
Is it really a choice? Anyone who made it better than jew and jew would be fine by everyone
>most of the worldbuilding and story hidden away in codexes and evolving NPC conversations
>it's pretty much an anime you guise
Legend of the Dragoon would probably translate very well as a 2-cour or 4-cour series.
Rose would make for a perfect semen demon, and Lavitz can be the new Kamina.
How many firstborn do i need to kill for pic related? i'm waiting almost 20 years for this gem.
>Dark Souls anime
>MC is the chosen undead
>Anastasia is the quiet girl
>Lautrec bullies her for being so quiet
>Laurentius and Domhnall are the bros that don't get any pussy
>Quelaag is the tsundere Oujo
>the fair lady is her sickly sister
>always followed by her comedy little servant eingyi
>your senpai is her older sister Quelana that is worried about them all, but she's in the student council and is really rare to see around
>Laurentius saw her once and always asks about her (he's got a huge crush on her)
>Siegmeyer is the Gym Teacher
>and her sister Sieglinde is also worried about him
>Solaire is the student council president
>Gwynevere is the school idol
>Nito is the vice school principal
>Gwyn is the absent school principal
>Patches is a bully and bullies Rhea
>Dusk is the aloof senpai
>Gwyndolin is the trap love interest
>and the Lady of Darkling is his lesbo friend
>sif is the mascot of course
Metal Gear Rising by ufotable or F/SN by Platinum.
I would love to see this getting proper adaptation.
Stop deluding yourself, you know this is going to be another suffering ride.
You could probably end 1/2 or 1/3 of the episodes with bad ends, and Stocke entering the chronicle. Then a brief scene before the OP of Stocke making the right choice, the OP, then a time skip to the next major scene.
And keep the game OST
