So I've downloaded a release, started watched and immediately noticed some weird horizontal lines.
I thought that's some low quality shit I should've checked before downloading, downloaded a different release and... Same shit.
It's all ok with other video files. Da fuck, /a/, is it intended to be like that?
It doesn't look that bad after a couple of minutes (I'm already done with ep. 00 and half of 01).
Yet the show itself is kinda weird; it's even hard to explain. Gotta keep watching I guess.
Absolutely love these OP and ED.
It seems there will be a separate story for each episode, right?
As a hitchhiker and traveler myself, I've built some expectations regarding the show; that was a very bad idea as it's completely different from what I've expected.
Yet it's... Atmospheric?
Ep. 2 here I come.
In ep. 00 she told not to make too swift conclusions.
Saw this coming from min ~8, altho the more it went, the more I thought I'm getting paranoid up until they spoiled everything.
General rule: help others, but don't trust 'em. I learnt that the hard way.
On a side note, Kino has balls of steel even despite the fact she's a girl.
>He doesn't like the scanlines
Kino without the lines isn't Kino.
Not like that matter too much for what ep00 was.
Also >>120232477 and I assume OP got this release, which is pretty much already in the proper watching order.
Nah just keep watching, wasn't even referring to that
When the fuck did this ever show up? Like what ep was it?
Also it sure as fuck matters, this means Kino made no choice whatsoever and her whole character was never actually her.
That shit is basically normal behavior on /a/ at this point, it's going to get a lot worse.
It's episode 9. The one with the Library. That scene is right after the eyecatch, at 13:03 in my copy.
Actually I think this was an anime-only story, no source in the LN, but don't quote me on that.
But Kino is one of the better selling LN overall, anon.
Heck, it's on vol 18 now.
Can we please not derail this?
It's a slippery slope. Before you know it lol will be okay, then XD and emotes and shit. OP is at least willing to learn, so teach him the right way and tell him to lurk moar. Do you want /a/ to be non-elitist? To turn into lebbit? If you do, you're no true /a/non.
Give newfags an inch and they take a mile.
That still sounds like you think of me as of an redditor or something, which is somewhat offensive.
Duh, whatever. I have episode 3 to finish.
I'd like to avoid unnecessary flaming and hibikeep it real. In this specific thread.
I could say Kino isn't meant to be sexualized and doing so would destroy a lot of her characterization.
Or I could call you a faggot for not wanting to jump this.
A coldblooded murderer is what she is.
And I love her for it.
This chapter right here convinced me more than anything that she will fuck you up if you get in her way.
You can leave with him you humongous faggot. He needs to lurk more and you need to fucking change your personality or go back to whatever shithole you originated from.
It's as >>120233906
says, elitism is required since god knows mods are mostly useless. We have to moderate our own board to keep up a standard of quality.
Please stop updating us, no one cares
Eh, it's not like it's SoL or anything. I marathoned it way back when I first watched it.
You can't really stop once you get started, if it's your kind of thing.
I'm sorry I don't care about OP and his blog shit. If I wanted to read a blog I would go to any other board or site.
I don't want to ignore you because then you might think your welcome. This will only breed cancer.
Holy shit Anon, you are the cancer.
The guy uses one fucking colloquialism in his post and you think it's okay to shit up half an entire thread?
Because his post reeks of places I dislike. He also could have just fucking googled his question.
Plus he started using the thread as a blog and even has his own personal defender apparently. There is no reason to tolerate cancer.
I really enjoyed this show, but I don't see why it makes it onto so many people"s 3x3s...
It's great, and definitely well above average - But there's plenty of better things.
We all agree that the Shaft installment was objectively the best though right?
Ep. 5: forest and old railway. The first few minutes reminded me about a story, feel free to read or skip.
In 2011 we had an accident while rafting down a river in Karelia.
Karelia is a land of lakes, rivers and ancient forests. It's located in Russia bordering with Finland (used to be a part of Finland afaik, but I ain't russian nor finnish, so idgaf), so it isn't tundra yet, but isn't south either. There are very few people living in the republic of Karelia, with most of them concentrated in few big cities and villages nearby functioning railway, so it's really easy to get far away from civilization.
To the accident. One of us got bitten by a snake; this snake's bite isn't deadly, but nevertheless it's freaking painful and has obnoxious consequences, so some medical treatment was a must, and we didn't have the right meds.
Calling rescue service via satellite phone didn't help much: they said that both helicopters they have in this area are currently busy, but they gave a very nice landmark which would help to find remains of old railway, which would lead to actually working road.
We found it relatively quickly, and got the old railway they talked about, and I gotta say, it was both scary and impressive. While forest around was truly old and hardly passable, trees and bushes nearby and on top of the railway were much younger and smaller, I'd say they were about 10 or 15 years old. Railway itself, at least it felt like this, was built dozens and dozens years ago, decayed, rusty, sometimes already under the ground; together with the grim forest, knowledge that there are no other people miles and miles around and cloudy weather it was kinda stressful, especially considering the fact we were carrying the bited guy (he could walk, but to prevent the spread of toxin around the body, we heavily bandaged the leg and were carrying him on improvised stretcher.
>places I dislike
Oh so you're a racist. Well, that makes this easy.
Gladly, just about a mile from the river, we reached the road and about an hour later got picked up by locals driving the road, and they carried us to a working railway station, from where we got to a town with a clinic.
Spent 2 extra days on that, but gladly, there was time scheduled for any kind of fuck up, and that was literally first day, so we were not far away from civilization yet.
I don't have any photos of the old railway I was talking about, so I attached a photo of an actual bridge there; that's better than nothing I guess.
Now back to episode 5.
Probably because it's memorable in comparison to a lot of other shows. I know I remember every country kino went to because they all had interesting premises. Its also comfy as fuck.
I can't say I agree about shaft because the animation bothered me subtly the entire time. Why exactly did you think that was the best? It was the one with the guy writing back to the little girl right? I'm legitimately interested.
Look what you have done, you made him think this was ok. Oh and how am I racist, when I said places I dislike that means sites such as tumblr/reddit/mal/gaia etc. Don't tell me you frequent those places?
A lot of people feel indebted to it, as it's kind of a gateway series into more psychological stuff. Some get more attached to it than others, but there's nothing really to dislike about it. People who put it on their 3's tend to feel a bond with other people who do, signifying that the series deeply affected them both.
And while the shaft movie was drawn very well, that particular story wasn't very good. If they'd adapted one of the better stories in the LN I might agree with you.
>I'm legitimately interested.
Obviously higher production value.
Prettier, better animation, etc.
And just enough of that glorious Shaft style to set it apart.
Compared to the rest of the series, I actually thought the story was one of the best - My personal favorite anyway.
>humans mustn't always have it easy.
>If humans go through life every day without any hardships, they'll slack off and become lazy.
>We need something in life to keep us from becoming lazy, and that's work!
This show is trolling me.
So, summing up topics raised:
- human being must be occupied by some kind of activities (job) or gets shit
- your job might be useless piece of shit
- you might be useless piece of shit
- democracy is ochlocracy, and ochlocracy is shit.
I ain't so optimistic anymore.
Done long time ago.
My point was a bit different; I expected this title to be somewhat less complicated, with main focus on the travelling and stuff instead of fuckload of philosophical stuff.
Her voice reminds me of this mad Chinese slut from Black Lagoon.
Gotta check the voice actress.
I assume you've already seen Mushishi, Spice and Wolf, Katanagatari and Samurai Champloo, since those are pretty well known.
Try Kazemakase Tsukikage Ran if you want travels and adventuran. The Diary of Tortov Roddle is also good if you want some indie shorts.
Actually haven't seen Katanagatari yet; delaying it for like 2 years already.
>Kazemakase Tsukikage Ran
Thanks, added to ptw.
I also heard that Sunabouzu is kind of a travelling anime; is it?
>I also heard that Sunabouzu is kind of a travelling anime; is it?
I've heard it is, haven't seen it myself. If you want travelan comedy and don't mind it being travelling in the sense of Quantum Leap, Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi is worth watching. Dub is surprisingly good if you're into that.
