Ep. 5: forest and old railway. The first few minutes reminded me about a story, feel free to read or skip.

In 2011 we had an accident while rafting down a river in Karelia.
Karelia is a land of lakes, rivers and ancient forests. It's located in Russia bordering with Finland (used to be a part of Finland afaik, but I ain't russian nor finnish, so idgaf), so it isn't tundra yet, but isn't south either. There are very few people living in the republic of Karelia, with most of them concentrated in few big cities and villages nearby functioning railway, so it's really easy to get far away from civilization.
To the accident. One of us got bitten by a snake; this snake's bite isn't deadly, but nevertheless it's freaking painful and has obnoxious consequences, so some medical treatment was a must, and we didn't have the right meds.
Calling rescue service via satellite phone didn't help much: they said that both helicopters they have in this area are currently busy, but they gave a very nice landmark which would help to find remains of old railway, which would lead to actually working road.
We found it relatively quickly, and got the old railway they talked about, and I gotta say, it was both scary and impressive. While forest around was truly old and hardly passable, trees and bushes nearby and on top of the railway were much younger and smaller, I'd say they were about 10 or 15 years old. Railway itself, at least it felt like this, was built dozens and dozens years ago, decayed, rusty, sometimes already under the ground; together with the grim forest, knowledge that there are no other people miles and miles around and cloudy weather it was kinda stressful, especially considering the fact we were carrying the bited guy (he could walk, but to prevent the spread of toxin around the body, we heavily bandaged the leg and were carrying him on improvised stretcher.

Anyone here thinks its possible for we to have a Kino reboot with some high quality?
or just a second season

Gladly, just about a mile from the river, we reached the road and about an hour later got picked up by locals driving the road, and they carried us to a working railway station, from where we got to a town with a clinic.
Spent 2 extra days on that, but gladly, there was time scheduled for any kind of fuck up, and that was literally first day, so we were not far away from civilization yet.
I don't have any photos of the old railway I was talking about, so I attached a photo of an actual bridge there; that's better than nothing I guess.

A lot of people feel indebted to it, as it's kind of a gateway series into more psychological stuff. Some get more attached to it than others, but there's nothing really to dislike about it. People who put it on their 3's tend to feel a bond with other people who do, signifying that the series deeply affected them both.


And while the shaft movie was drawn very well, that particular story wasn't very good. If they'd adapted one of the better stories in the LN I might agree with you.

I've heard it is, haven't seen it myself. If you want travelan comedy and don't mind it being travelling in the sense of Quantum Leap, Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi is worth watching. Dub is surprisingly good if you're into that.
