Post your face when your waifu's VA is decided like this
The suffering never ends.
Also, she has some shit friends, considering none of them mentioned a word about it when they returned to the office the next day.
I had believed for so long that a source material's author having a say in the process of VA audition is not a a nice idea and they should let 'professionals' handle the business. This episode changed my thought a lot. Professionals my ass. Like you've said, Tarou would have done a way better job in five minutes
I hope the new guy doesn't turn out to be Tarou 2.0. Everyone seems to hate him already but I hope he gets a nice arc where he learns to appreciate his coworkers and apologises for being kind of rude. He already knows he can be pushy so I hope we get a cute scene of him telling Aoi he never meant anything bad and just has trouble expressing himself or something.
If this show had the ability and balls to do a serious and interesting arc about Endou and Segawa still having feelings for each other I would be delighted
and aroused. Even with all the stress, though, the tone is still really too light to touch on it.
by your command
Don't worry. Yano will come back to save Musani once again and teach that newbie some manner
Why didn't you push harder?
Taro, while incompetent at time. At least seems to be a genuine person. The new guy, while should be good at what he does, just feels sinister and scheming even though there's no reason for him to be.
Personally, I rather work with Tarou. I rather take work stress than office politic stress.
Me too, Shizuka. Me too. ;_;
Seriously, the 3 stooges deserved to be punched BUT they weren't even the beginning. I'm digging a grave for the "new guy" who implied Miyamori was getting by on sex appeal right now.
And the animator at the very end... "That director is picky, isn't he?"
Never has an anime made me want to punch more fictional people. NEVER.
He seemed to me more like he just has a slightly forceful personality and is emotionally constricted. I don't see him as scheming, just cold. Tarou seems genuine because he's overtly emotional and has no problem running his mouth off at every stupid thought that crosses his mind. New guy is just kinda autistic.
Yeah, Tarou is incredibly tactless, completely unaware of his own incompetence, and generally grating, but he's not even the worst we've seen. New Dude is full of shit, manga editor dude is a lying dickbag, and the three stooges were all fucking horrible, horrible wastes of air.
One thing confirmed by manga is Misa is actual gay
5K for Exodus isn't terrible considering there's the dark cloud of Jiggly Heaven and just returning from directing hiatus that would probably turn off people by principle. It's a step forward, at least.
The new guy has been changing studio for five times in five years.
I can imagine he never had a sentimentality over workplace which makes him rather cold in there.
But I believe he is a good guy, or at least doesn't have bad intention.
i think zuka will end up with a relatively minor role of a side character. but her voice acting will end up making the character super popular.
the manga author, who had no interests about the anime project up to this point. will notice the sudden surge of zuka's character and decide to develop her into one of the center characters. and that's when zuka will finally get her break.
remember how the author hasn't done any further manga chapters AFTER the portion they're animating right now?
also, shizuka means 'silence' in Japanese, not sure if they were being ironic or actually dropping hint about her eventual failed career...
I don't think anyone in the show has outright bad intentions. Shirobako is just made to show how reasonably well-meaning people screw things up by being ignorant and annoying sometimes.
Yeah, I can definitely see him being in conflict with Aoi over the fact that she has less experience but is in a higher role. I don't think that makes him a serious antagonist, though, it's a pretty understandable reaction and he'll probably learn to deal with it.
I was expecting someone cool like Honda or Ochiai, not a fuckhead.
Daily reminder that Rento, even with the connection of an ex-baseball player dad and a model older sister, couldn't make it as a seiyuu and is now a gravure model.
It's true, the agency deleted her page.
You can call me Diesel.
Zuka-chan will become a top-selling seiyuu in meantime and make more money in a month than all her friends do in a year. She will catch about three to four main roles each season without even audition, at least one stage event each month, and several radio programmes of her own. And then her new suffering will begin when some fat faceless stalkers hang around her place and she finds herself unable to make any time with her friends anymore, and reads some disgusting rumors spreading on the internet.
I'm going to admit that I was feeling rather depressed during this scene. Not bad, PA works.
No, Hatoko was a voice actress that's been established for years, she was Hitmonchan in tittymon, the beard in Buddy Complex, the girl that dies at the end in Sora no Otoshimono, and many more.
Based Honda. Would buy his cakes. Imagine you gently cleave off a piece of fluffy cheesecake that he made an hour ago. You scoop up that piece with your fork and you insert it into your mouth, where it melts into a gooey mess.
If there's one thing Shirobako has completely avoided so far it's asspulls, so I'm not expecting there to be one.
Everyone thought (K)Anno would literally save Exodus by animating the horse scene himself, and they went with something much more realistic and well done instead.
This man or the president, which is the superior old man?
Good grief. She reminds me of the MC of Sakurasou.
tarou is nice to have around to place the blames. ie, the one everybody picks on to keep a harmonious atmosphere in the office.
btw, i can totally see this happening. since they're constantly having back and forth banters. out of everybody in that office, she's the one who interacts with tarou the most. and i bet tarou probably made her laugh a few times while on the road to the hospital with her. or did a few stupid shit that made her forgot about her dad's illness for a few moments.
This man. Because the model person was
already dead. ; ;
>Please master, give us your dick.
Who else can't get NERU NA LUNA out of their head?
Haruko Momoi sure brought her A game. Both of these show's ending songs are stellar. ED1 was my favorite of winter 2014, which was full of great EDs.
Being seiyuu is hard and the staffs here doing a good job in depicting it.
Just read here about Oozora Naomi, a newbie seiyuu that just got her big break last year in Noucome and IM@S CG.
Her monthly income was about 50000 yen (~$426 USD)
Her apartment is so insanely small and cluttered there is barely any space to even stand.
She trained her lung capacity by blowing up a giant plastic water bottle, and exercised on a 1000 yen used sit-up bench she got online.
Money was so tight that she regularly couldn’t afford to eat.
She would bring home left over bread crusts skimmed from sandwiches sold at one of her part time jobs.
On ‘special occasions’ she might use a fancy yakiniku sauce on said bread crust.
She tried out for over 40 auditions and only passed a single one for a tiny ‘Extras’ role in Dragonball Z: Battle of The Gods
But when she went to go see the movie, she couldn’t even hear her own voice in the scene.
read the whole post if you can, really good.
She may as well just start sucking dicks right there and then.
It's certainly a stretch, but I could see it happening. Most likely Tarou will just continue to be the office joke character and get maybe one or two scenes where he says or does something profound and helpful.
>believing somebody who lies to get more sympathy and boost her popularity
The fact that you know about her now is already proof that her PR stint worked and you fell for it.
>/a/ strikes again
What are we defining an "asspull" as, here? Because Sugie was never shown as a weak link, just unable to keep up with the moe trend, but it was obvious he had a ton of experience and we saw him at his desk animating animal characters beforehand. Everyone was waiting and wondering when he'd get his big moment.
Laughing my ass off here
I think the explanation will be simpler, like Shizuka Itou have to drop from Aerial Girls due to conflicting schedule or something like that, and since director already liking Zuka's audition then they will cast her.
I honestly don't know which one of them I wanted to hit more, the perverted douche, the corporate stooge or the one whose main issue I can't remember right now. Then funny story showed up and I felt my head start to hurt.
Sales and marketing departments are fucking important that you just do not know the difference in impact. There are tons of good things out there like games, mangas, animes, goods, services and so on. Good qualities do not mean good sales yet. I will give you one example where the help of marketing can boost the sales and help the product from being dead in real life.
The 3rd one wanted someone who was popular, which is a pretty reasonable thing to be insistent about, popular voice actors dramatically boost characters appeal and as such boost merchandise sales and BDs. It makes it even more reasonable when you consider that Aerial Girls is apparently a super popular LN.
It`ll never go that far. Aoi Drug Monsters already identified him as enemy, so his scewered and disfigured body will likely be found at some garbage dumpster in the studio neibourghood. The perpetrator will never be found.
>sucking Yamakan's dick
>being okay with that
Holy fuck I am actually really sad about that.
It's not like she would have ever actually even seen any of them at work. They're all going to be busy dealing with extra work after contracting episodes to a shit studio. Except diesel I guess, but she wouldn't be anywhere near recording either.
But when they're talking about it together after work is when she'll feel left out. I feel so bad. I actually thought she would get the part after her audition. My eyes teared up from her acting. I'm such a fool.
Midori is a miracle of the prefecture.
Oh hey Shirobako back to top 10 in today's daily ranking
Which Shirobako manager would you kill?
Can we just take no risks and kill them all? Who knows how many more shows they're going to ruin in the future.
This is great.
Kill them all. People who only think of business and pushing their favorite seyuus shouldn't have a voice in this matter.
This fucking guy.
Being hired even though you have no kob experience for your talent with the help of connections and no troubles during the job interview is the most awesome thing.
I deciphered Toyosaki Aki and obvious Itou Shizuka, but who's Musasabi Taeko and Tachibana Soyori? Saotome Kaede is Sato Satomi?
Nigger, please. Sawashiro is my all-time favorite. Don't even dare to suggest that I might've said something like "Sawashiro's acting is terrible."
I hope this guy is still watching Shirobako.
I made it, bruv.
Cares about her friends, laid-back but hardworking, intellectually curious
Also cutest Bako
All the Bakos are nice genuine girls, really Although I guess CG-chan might secretly be a sociopath for all we know with her screentime.
When will Zuka find the light?
Personally, I think that Zuka won't get the job as Catherine, but the Director will keep her name in mind when they begin casting outside of the Main 5, and she'll get a recurring character. Based Kantoku.
Also, I like the new addition to the PA squad
unless the Taitanic move is purposely torpedoing Aoi's first job as Desk in which case fuck off
He was also a snide fuck here. I'm placing my bets on highlights and ghibil being good additions.
>tells Oi-chan that Segawa will go out of her way to help her
>tells Oi-chan to not depend on Segawa
I've been in at scholarship interview panels where we almost came to blows about who to pick for scholarships. Shit can get intense and personal even when you didn't have any vested interests before the interviews.
TV and radio ads. Granted we're never forced to think about the popularity of the talents or forced to think about events and albums, and I thank god about that.
I don't even see the voice actress face before the actual recording session.
>immense amounts of love and passion from the staff
>regardless of few hiccups the production goes smoothly and the end-quality is good
>sells below average
>Third Aerial Girls Squad
>massive production troubles, unsatisfactory end results due to bad outsourcing
>becomes a smash hit because source material
>thinking it's a bad thing on a moral or professional level to not be overly dependent on someone
Truth be told, Daisuke's advice was correct. Taking advantage of Segawa's biases is being both a poor friend and something that could very easily backfire when it comes to work.
No. It's just a parody of all cute-girls-doing-military-things -things that have been very popular. Not a direct reference to anything. Kancolle was G-colle or something like that in Shirobako
You clearly haven't been around the proper sales threads. There's the manabi line, and depending on several factors (cheaper animation, the show being the studios own IP) you could be profitable around 4-5k or it would take more. 10k is generally considered a hit, 25k+ is a big hit.
Will they be able to finish TAGS arc with only one cour?
That's G Reco
TAGS is the kancolle of our generation because of
>unsatisfactory end results due to bad outsourcing
>becomes a smash hit because source material
It's GuP, but with one jet, one girl, one team instead of 6-12 tanks, 3-5 girls per tank, one team. Rest is the same, as far as I can tell.
>I like learning about things I don't know about
Just like everyone else?
Itou would have a scheduling conflict guys. I swear
Cry more bitch nigga
>Diesel Dost in a suit
This is a crime, PA Works. Next time you make her cuter, you'd trigger genocide.
Obviously not taking advantage of that at all.
I don't like how he said this. He better not be sabotaging Aoi.
Why don't Zuka get some education? Technical Schools tend to be really affordable, she could earn better money than a part-timer and still pursue her VA dream in her free time.
Sounds like a distraction from her VA career. You can't manage a part-time, school, and VA auditions at once without some falling through the cracks.
Plus she already has a higher standard of life than Ema.
Aoi: death by donut poisoning after she's blamed for production scheduling failure
Misa: death by caffeine intoxication. Prior to that she worked almost 20 hours straight for doing dogfight CG
Zuka: death by hanging. She left a last will for Musani, the company that rejects her last hope for her seiyuu career
Midori: death by bleeding. She cut her hand because she can't draw cat for the plane mark
That leaves us with Diesel-chan. Probably because of her work in Musani, her grade in college will drop hard, and soon she'll walk to the despair route.
I'm going to assume writer is going to help Midori get into the business.
Anyone else find it hilarious Midori got something out if while Zuka got shot down?
>When will they actually talk to the creator?
That doesn't always happen with adaptations because creators aren't always people people, if you know what i mean. That's why they have intermediaries like that faggot they keep talking to instead.
That's my favourite kind of character.
But Aoi is my wife, so my love will turn to hate pretty quickly if he's intentionally fucking her Desk job to get himself prestige within Musani.
That's not even confirmed, for all we know Tomigaya and Hiraoka have a stick up their arse regarding Segawa. Or Hiraoka was trying to stir shit up with Aoi.
>He doesn't say anything wrong though. He just has a slightly unpleasant way of expressing himself
He's a PA, not a doctor. His job involves communicating in a way that doesn't want people to murder him and decorate their office with his entails
You think you can predict depth of Zuka`s suffering yet?
You are wrong.
Diesel-chan will be hired to voice Katherina since director by chance found she is fluent in russian by reading all the Dostoyevski in original and watching russian Operas
To be fair, we never saw her initial interactions with Tarou. She'd been working with him for a considerable amount of time by the start of the series, and he's still simply being tolerated at best.
I can only imagine it was worse at the start.
>Hiraoka was trying to stir shit up with Aoi.
Good thing she has her imaginary friends to vent out her feelings for her so that she doesn't lash out at people.
I really want to see them interact.
>Good thing she has her imaginary friends to vent out her feelings for her so that she doesn't lash out at people.
I want to see Aoi snap and mix her fantasy even more with reality and lash out on someone thinking it happens in her mind.
Tarou is an asshole, but he's not actively malicious and plotting to undermine Oi-chan because he looks down on her for her age/inexperience/gender. We don't know if megane's doing that, but I honestly wouldn't be surprised given his actions and expressions this episode.
He's probably like that other PA who decided to move around because there was a better opportunity there. Tarou doesn't think about the future and is complacent where his is now.
>Yano swoops back in and is very protective of her cute kouhai
>sharp tongued exchanges between her and bully-kun
>other kinds of angry tongue exchanges between her and bully-kun
This is what I need.
The red haired PA switched offices because he was given better career opportunities at a bigger studio with more resources.
But hw is working at Musani a better opportunity? Isn't he literally the PA at the bottom of the totem pole at a middling studio?
Oi-chan is the production desk with significant responsibilities and bonus pay. Even Tarou is head production assistant.
>The red haired PA switched offices because he was given better career opportunities at a bigger studio with more resources.
That's right, didn't he go over to be the production desk?
I'm not getting that vibe from him. He seems pretty confident and not bitter. He just nonchalantly criticizes others. He probably doesn't mean anything personally.
The only thing I can think of is that he wants to to a lower studio so that he can work himself up, get experience and then go to a better studio. That would give him a motive to sabotage Miyamori but I don't think he's that sinister.
A great idea. What could possibly go wrong?
Yeah, his name is in the ed credit.
Since Hiraoka wasn't at the series of interviews that Doujin-chan and Ghibli-chan are coming from, chances are this was something done courtesy of Nabe-P himself, either because he was looking for experienced free agents or because Hiraoka was looking for openings. This obviously means looking into his background.
Nabe-P wouldn't hire someone if all of his previous workplaces gave him bad reviews, especially now that they're doing a project as important as this. The expectations are high, to say the least.
Chances are Hiraoka's previous workplaces just downsized after completing a big project, or things of that sort. Transience isn't that uncommon in the industry, I'm sure.
Some VAs don't sing character songs for contract issues. For example, Sakamoto Maaya never sings a character song and that's why Shinobu doesn't have her own opening theme in the Monogatari Second Season
Zuka was so close to playing Phantom pilot. ;_;
/a/ being autistic as usual. Ever considered that some people try out a seiyuu role or two for reasons (trying out voice-acting, easy money, favor for someone, opportunity happened to offer itself) and then go about their usual day?
And stop perpetuating that myth of "all seiyuu start in ecchi/hentai anime". They don't, you edgy fucks.
>finally nailed an audition
>didn't get Noa role
>didn't even get Katherine role
Fuck this show so hard. I'm glad Kantoku noticed her, but when everyone shot him down like that I can't help but feel bitter. The last scene only made it worse.
Fuck you, Ooi didn't even know she was auditioning for the anime. There were no connections.
Sales thread are just shitpost, even when a show brakes a 10k they will find a way to underplay its success, recently there was this poster who kept saying YuYuYu's 10k didn't matter because "It had a small viewercount and zero presence on places like niconico, pixiv and otaku popularity polls"
I think that one is for real gay men. Fujo prefer pretty males.
All other top 5 shows (PP2, Yuki Yuna, Cross Ange and Amaburi) are bound to have a v2 with a 30% drop meanwhile Shirobako don't.
I could see it reaching the third place for Fall, hell, even the second one if Yuki Yuna's volumes start to drop too much
>All other top 5 shows (PP2, Yuki Yuna, Cross Ange and Amaburi) are bound to have a v2 with a 30% drop
PP has an event ticket and Cross Ange has a Nana ticket, but why do you think Yuuyuuyuu and Amabri are going to get a sales drop on v2 while Shirobako isn't?
I smiled, and then I saw the text.
Gut status: busted.
> went for the Saber role but got Sakura instead
While true, the attitude of "not already popular, don't cast" isn't sustainable. You wind up with a handful of people who voice everything and no up-and-comers who have serious potential to be really popular never get the chance.
It was this thread that it was made. https://archive.moe/a/thread/117705405/
Where are you seeing 結城友奈は勇者である on that list?
And nope, its not going strong anymore, maybe one more week if it receive a boost along with the v2, but for now v1 is starting to quickly cool down
Not precisely unheard of outside of Japan, either. In various mechanical and manufacturing jobs my dad had, 'NBG' was a common label to attach to stuff that was No Bloody Good.
Look at them firebombs.
