That's a better way to say it, and I'm pretty sure some people would agree that their complexity as characters is quite low (if almost minimal if you only watch a couple of episodes of the adaptation) if you see them outside their own story, but that kinda misses the point entirely to consider a good MC, I suppose it's the perfect way to judge a good character, though.
