her character was pretty much spelled out by kaiki in koimonogatari, wasn't it? girl tries her best despite being shit and awkward and everything (crab, hard on outside, softy on the inside, etc)

that being said, unless the novels portray her differently, her character really isn't as compelling or interesting as any other in the series. her role seems to be solely that of MC's raburabu tsundere gf and not much else.

Bake was the first story created and it alluded to both the events that happen in Kizu and the ones that happen in Neko:Black, so unless you started with Kizu and then went to Bake that would not be the case.

Oshino also mentioned in Kizu that he found Hanekawa unsettling and avoided meeting her as well as feeling like she was manipulating them and Araragi mentioned that he found her complete selflessness frightening. People have been spamming Haruhi threads lately, so I gotta get this one out: Haruhi was one of my fave series when it aired, but now after watching it all and reading all the LNs, I only find it mediocre and actually now hate most of the main cast. I would rather have had a typical dense harem MC than Kyon, and actual development of the non-brigade members who were much better characters (Asakura, Tsuruya, Emiri, Sasaki, Watahashi etc.)
