I get the feeling that Tomino just sort of WROTE IT. With no clear plot or character progression in mind.
That's why it feels so scatterbrained and unfocused.

The only character that has made noticeable progress is Aida.
I guess Ballri learned to not be so murderhappy after killing his mentor, but they didn't even give it any room or the appropriate gravitas.

G-Reco has a lot of flaws that can be attributed to Tomino being contaminated by current popular culture. Also being senile. But mostly the former.

Dialogue was a bit confusing but most shit was eventually explained or made sense given context.

A few bits of lazy animation. Though at least mobile suits stay on model for most of the time they're on screen.

The pacing was really fast but since ep 4 it's slowed down to one I'm a bit more familiar with.

Doesn't do anything inherently wrong I guess, all the bits of information are there, it's just told differently with some weird bias against info-dumps. Wish Bellri would get a bit more fleshed out though.

Well if I look at what's happened with Kamille over the same span of time as Bellri so far, I can sorta tell in what direction the wind is blowing.

ZZ had really shitty character development.
Judau basically has an arc in the first 6 episodes or so and then just stops.
Bell is written similarly.

Generally I think G-Reco is for the same people that actually liked ZZ.
It's mostly inconsequential fluff with no real stand-out scenes or characters (even ZZ at least had Haman Karn and Bright)
But hey, maybe it will be fucking fantastic by the finale, but I doubt it.
