Yet it is 2015 right now and Kyoani is funding their own show.
Last season, a shitty no name LN like amagi actually sold 6 to 7k while Madhouse #1 LN adaptation sold 10k.

At least Kyoani doesn't literally make its employees overwork themselves to death.

Contrary to popular belief, KyoAni is currently one of the biggest studios in industry, employing over 100 stuff on permanent basis. Most dont have even fraction of that. They hold 4 offices, 1 in tokyo, 2 in Kyoto, 1 in Osaka and have 2 substudios - Animation Do and Studio Blue (korean substudio)

Their worth by 2014 was estimated around 2 bln yen. They are perfectly capable of doing multiple productions, especially when those are not on short timeframe.
