We moved on, i browse almost nothing but small imageboards now and occasionally come here to see if anyone's translated anything i might like but i'm doing that less and less.

I still peruse /a/ from time to time. I've been on 4chan since 05.

The problem is that I'm starting to turn into old man Simpson, and all anime is looking increasingly gentrified for the horny teenage otaku audience. I simply want more accessible anime that I can share with people, and more anime with legitimate philosophical content such as genre deconstruction.

I suppose Japan's birth rate issues will lead to another "lost decade" akin to the 90's, resulting in animators eating shoes to survive. Anno created Eva when he was hungry as shit. Takimoto created NHK when he was a crazy NEET. Great works will happen again.

Call me an idiot if all this sounds off-base. I just don't know if I'm right about anything these days with how volatile the markets are.

That's what happens when websites like this become popular. I mean a good portion of the 119 million posts made since this board was created were in the last year alone. There's more people, and those people all have their own interests. It's like comparing highschool to college. In highschool, you're forced together with a group of people all with different interests. Then in college, there's a much larger group of people and you end up just sticking with those similar to yourself.

There's no problem anon, I've been here about the same amount of time, you're just maturing. You're realizing that a lot of stuff you enjoyed was really just teenage wankbait. There's nothing wrong with that. I used to jack-off to ecchi manga in the highschool bathrooms, now I can't even get off to half those characters unless it's 10/10 artwork and caters to a fetish or two of mine.

4chan was almost impossible to navigate before extensions. You didn't have quick reply boxes, auto-refresh, unread post counts, reply notifications and backquoting. And if you didn't put noko in the name field it would send you back to page 0 after every post.

I left but I am now back for a bit or maybe a long time, who knows.
