>>119466378 Because she's got the cuteness of White Chaika, the ass of Red Chaika, the delicious flat chest of Frederica, and combines it all into a smart and sexy little package. If I could, I would utterly crush her pelvis.
>>119471199 It depends on what you mean by "deviate." They cut out tons of stuff from the LNs, but followed the same plot. The fake-chaika episode in the first season, and the training with the hero in the second season, were all anime original. The final arc, with Black Chaikas, was the biggest change from the LN. Changed up a lot of the way things happen, leave out Gaz's motivations and who Guy is, the details of the final battles are totally different, etc...
After defeating Gaz, Chaika, Toru, and Fredrika disappear. Akari and Red Chaika spend half a year searching for them but can't find them. That's where the LN ends.
>>119471522 It's been a while since I read it so I don't remember the details... I think it was intentionally brought on by the loss of Gillette, but whether it was just because it was a traumatic event, or because it was specifically the loss of a person that mattered that much to her, I don't remember.
After the Chaikening starts, the new Chaika goes into a Chaika Rage and is supposed to kill everyone around her, which Viivi tried to do, but the rest of her companions managed to subdue her. Because she never fulfilled that last part, her transformation was incomplete, and she didn't lose her original memories or get her new Chaika skills and Slavmobile last name.
>>119471707 >>119471783 Good ending in the LN is still in the air because Niva could be dead and Toru/Chaika fully memory wiped. Apparently BONES saved the day in the anime unless Sakaki pulls a miracle.
>>119471707 Hell no, it was a perfect ending to a series about people desperately trying to find their place in the world while still dragging around the baggage of their pasts. Toru and Chaika both needed to move on, and maybe the only way they could do that (if they're still even alive at all) is to both forget everything that they've gone through and to not have people around who are going to bring those things back up. Ambiguity was a huge theme throughout the series, and an uncertain ending really suits it. For me, it really made up for the lackluster story of the last couple volumes, and the crappy anime adaptation.
It was also a callback to a statement Akari had made earlier in the series, about traveling to the ends of the earth to find Toru's body if he were ever to die somewhere without her.
>>119472128 Probably. But I think that their programming might be, like, cancelled. One of the rules of magic that is stated, briefly, is that it can't be "automated," it needs somebody to make it happen, so while it's not outright stated, whatever it was that caused the Chaikas to Chaikafy may have been linked in some way to Gaz, either his body parts or whatever "spirit" of his was still around waiting to be revived, or maybe even something that Guy did (Guy wanted him revived so he could kill Gaz for good). So it's a good bet that all of the people with Chaika-potential still in them probably won't change now.
>>119472171 If you think a good ending is one where everyone forgets their experiences so they can live in their little bubbles instead of learning from them and coping is legitimate, you need to start reading more stories.
>>119472399 If you think the "They all live in a little house together for the rest of their lives picking flowers" ending of the anime is a good one, then no amount of reading more stories is ever going to help you.
Like I said in yesterday's thread, I think it would've been really entertaining to see Vivi develop a Chaika nature, denying it all the way.
>I need to gather the remnants...I mean WE need to gather the remnants, to keep them out of the wrong hands, that's what Gillette wanted! >What? No I'm not copying the Chaikas with this hairband, I just thought I'd try a different look after wearing that bow so long. Besides it matches my new frilly dress and...what are you laughing about? >Th-they were out of suitcases! I-I had no other choice but to buy this coffin! >Verbs, unnecessary. Talk this way, easier. Learn, where? Who else... Shocking truth!
>>119478208 the whole denying to be chaika concept fits her tsundere personality fucking well, would've been interesting to see it developed even more. Any novelfag knows how was it played in the novels?
>>119478920 >tsundere Vivi isn't tsundere. She's completely honest about being in love with Gillette, they just never get anywhere because they're too busy being badass spies and he's oblivious. Red Chaika is the tsundere in this show.
>>119466378 I'm sorry for minor thread derail, but I didn't felt like making new thread for one simple question. I don't know much about this series, except seeing some images of Chaika and finding her adorable and upon reading up about this series I have found out that her family name (I think) is Trabant and that other characters have also names after slavic automobile brands, such as Škoda. I'm just wondering what's up with that?
