You can have clichés and still make something good mate. DxD did that pretty well notably by trying to throw a predictable twist with the fake GF, Daimidaler just went full retard and was good thanks to that, on the other hand Shinmai Maou throw clichés after clichés in the most clumsiest way in a matter of minutes.
Clichés are fine as long as they are well used and serve their purpose, here the bad directing and writing just makes the whole thing uninteresting and uninspired, wich is a shame since the actual "meat" of Shinmai Maou is fairly enjoyable, but with the shitty directing and production quality shown in ep 1, there's no hope for it to be actually good.

You do have the right to like shit though.
