Is Ichiruki the most popular ship in WSJ history? It's fanbase has far surpassed the fan base of Bleach itself.
It has become something more, an abstraction, something illusory... Something Kubo himself doesn't, and can't comprehend.
"The sinless you is like the sun;
The sinful you, too, is like the sun."
Ichiruki confirmed. Landwhales = tears
This poem, while explicit, is implicitly presented here.
The moon eclipsing the Sun
Kubo operates outside the mundane dimension of humanity.
There is no escape.
Kubo enjoys teasing both ichiruki and ichihime fans. He knows what he is doing.
But damn kubo got ichiruki fans going crazy"proof"
Kubo is quite nice to his Ichiruki fans. He knows how popular the ship is.
The ships in terms of popularity in Japan go.
6. crack pairings
This isn't a dump thread. You can post Ichiruki pics but only if it's accompanied by something that actually contributes to the thread.
There was a dump thread yesterday.
Also, only post high quality stuff. Not that tiny shit
>These threads keep getting more poetic
They also get more autistic. I've always been an Ichiruki shipper but this is starting to become ridiculous. We don't need a thread 24/7, once in a while is enough
just like Rukia's appearances in the manga.
There isn't much Ichihime or Renruki from Japan. There is only a couple images of them on pixiv for reference.
It's nearly all Ichiruki and ulqhime.
I would say Renruki is pretty crack though. The pairing romantically makes no sense, as Renji was put in the friend zone for 60 years, and even tried to kill Rukia multiple times at one point.
Okay, let's get some legitimate discussion going. I know Ichiruki developed into something more substantial than conventional partnership during/after Soul Society arc, but for my money the comedic SoL antics were what made it click from the very beginning.
It's a shame we'll never see Ichigo rolling his eyes as Rukia fakes tears in front of a scary teacher again, or him commenting on her drawing skills, or them bullying Kon together. Also Rukia climbing onto Ichigo's back and ordering him to dive bomb a Hollow or having culture shock. They had some fun times together. Whereas Ichigo's interaction with Orihime or Tatsuki are usually limited to brief friendly banter and muh mamoru.
How do you think ichigo will end up with rukia ?
Does He becomes a captain?
( soul society owe him big time).
I've been reading it for Mayuri, I'm glad he got one last good moment in the
>soul society owe him big time
Don't worry, Byakuya got this
>now you dont either
i dont get it
Yes it is, it's the only ship to ever trend worldwide on twitter.
What do you mean? They're bound by destiny.
Shut up you fucking casual faggot. You don't even read Bleach, SO GET OFF THE THREAD
I swear to god, ever since the end of naruto, there has been an influx of retards.
Go update your RP profile on narutoforums
Who fucking cares?
This shit pile of a series has been dragged out to hell and back that the charm has been lost since forever. This fucking ship is what made me get into it in the beginning but it became obvious it was just more power level, reader exploitation tripe. Almost as bad as Naruto.
Let it go.
You don't have to come into this thread if it raises your blood pressure so much anon.
>Let it go
>Ship something for 10 years
>Watch the manga go from 10/10, to 3/10
>Watch your favorite characters vanish from the manga, barely getting any screen time
>Let it go
>Something the mangaka wrote
literal, irrefutable, autism.
I'm okay with this. Ulquiorra is dead so if IshiHime is the runner up Orihime ship that makes it the most popular one that can actually happen.
theres 2 threads up now, maybe we are going a little overboard
If Kubo goes the angst end Ichigo will probably take over as Soul King and true to his name, protect everyone by doing so. Kubo has been stressing the importance of names lately.
The twist: He can't see any of his friends anymore and has to live in an isolated dimension.
The ship twist: Rukia follows him without a thought.
Otherwise, he'll probably become a captain in the Gotei (maybe of 13th since Ukitake is probably gonna drop dead, and have Rukia as his VC).
yes but lets let it die
its a ichihime thread
>Otherwise, he'll probably become a captain in the Gotei (maybe of 13th since Ukitake is probably gonna drop dead, and have Rukia as his VC).
man then i'd just want to see the shennanigans they'd get up too
Ichigo and Rukia share destiny. Personally if Kubo was a good writer. And hear me out here, I've been shipping Ichiruki for 10 years since I was 12.
If he were a good writer, he would have Rukia die in Ichigo's arms, and give her heart to him, like Kaien did to her.
Then it would give Ichigo the resolve to protect everybody and sacrifice himself to become Soul King, locked away forever, keeping the balances of the worlds together.
Rukia is still with him though, in the heart. He is not alone....
Another ending would be more simple, but predictable. The last chapter is Ichigo and Rukia together, although not romantically, but implied later that it will become romantic, killing hollows together.
Another ending which would be the moderate choice, Aizen ascends the throne as the soul king, Everybody lives happily ever after ,Ichiruki announced canon in the epilogue.
Why? We mainly stay in our own threads and we don't fuck with threads on chapter releases. At least we have official art and statements to make the ship believable.
I completely agree. I don't want her to die, but it would be incredibly poetic. And further support that all couples in Bleach are doomed.
The problem with a nice happy ending is that it feels like something big needs to happen with Ichigo to give the story meaning.
>maybe of 13th since Ukitake is probably gonna drop dead
Aren't like, three captains dead already. I don't see Ukitake or Shunshui dying unless they reveal some shady conspiratory shit going on.
>Rukia dies in Ichigos arms
>Ichigo goes back to his human life
>15 years later a young girl turns up at Ichigos clinic.
>it's only fucking Rukia reincarnated and she remembers Bits of her past life and gas been travelling across Japan to find Ichigo for answers!!
> repetitive shit happens and Ichigo has to give Rukia his powers in order to protect the patients from a hollow.
>Ichigo stabs Rukia and the screen flashes to white as Asterisk starts playing in the background.
>the credits roll
Not a shipper, but I'm curious: how big is the chance of this ship becoming canon? It doesn't have to be anything as obvious as Naruto/Hinata for example, but something that's enough so you can't argue against it?
Did you not see the IchiRuki thread that hit image limit yesterday? It wasn't even a bleach thread, just an IchiRuki thread. People only started to care about NaruHina once Kishi made it canon.
There are very few actual romantic interactions between them. There's a lot of symbolic context and they obviously care about each other, but there's not much to point at romantic feelings.
Yeah, I just noticed my mistake. But now that I have already mentioned it, is it true that those two relationships are somewhat similar?
Well Naruto just ended, and Naruto/Hinata was made 100% canon, so it's not that weird.
People cared about Naruhina, it's just that there was much less material to go on. Plus, if you started a shipping debate about Naruto, people would call you a faggot.
With IchiRuki, they have much more screentime together and Bleachfags have been having shipping threads for a lot longer now.
they had a romance movie released about them last month, and from what I can tell the naruto threads seem to be dying down. Until the sub version comes out at least.
if ichiruki romance movie came out suddenly im fairly certain the explosion would be similar, just minus the hilarious ns meltdown
If by Soul Eater they mean Maka and Soul then to a certain extent they are similar but they're also different enough for it to feel unique.
Personally I never thought of it before but now that its been mentioned to me I can see it. You have the feminine yet spunky and driven girl with the laid back cool guy tied together by mutual trust. Both aren't explicitly romantic but could easily become so.
Kazuki and Tokiko are Ichigo and Rukia condensed into a smaller time frame. So very similar just missing the subtleties and destiny stuff.
Soul and Maka are too. I guess the difference there is that Soul and Maka kind of have the same level of a relationship for most of Soul Eater while Ichigo's and Rukia's changes a lot really quickly.
Nearly everyone wants Ichiruki, but honestly, the chances aren't good. Ichigo and Rukia haven't interacted with each other in a couple years now and haven't interacted alone with each other in even longer. Meanwhile, Orihime still is desperately in love with Ichigo and doesn't have much else going for her.
If Kubo actually gets Rukia and Ichigo together, the shitstorm would be astronomical. It would eclipse anything we've seen before.
>Pic related is the future of Bleach
The future is a dark one....
Yeah I'm still holding out for some interesting plot points past fights, fights, and more fights so Kubo can focus on central characters and their development again.
Reminder that in the Fade to Black movie Ichigo and Rukia remember each other even though there memories had been erased. Also, they're connected between worlds by a red spirit ribbon. Kubo also played a large role in Fade to Black.
The only reason Orihime has a chance is because Kubo is the type of person who would fuck with his audience.
What annoys me about the romantic subplots is the astronomically slow pace Kubo is resolving them at. Orihime is still in love with Ichigo, Ishida may still like her, nothing has developed between Rukia and Ichigo, Renji is friendzoned, Hitsugaya is NTR'd by the 5th division captain and that's what it's been like since Soul Society.
The only thing that's been resolved since that arc is Gin and Rangiku, and then Unohana and Zaraki's development happened too fast the resolution was just to kill them off.
It's only 10 volumes, it's basically all you want out of a shonen. Short, sweet, the classic tropes, good characters. The anime is pretty well done too and has a solid opening.
Years later and the art is still as disgusting to me as when I first viewed it.
Don't know why people ship Ichiruki so much. There's a lot of symbolism going on between them.. but NOTHING romantic. It's literally all platonic duality and concepts not related to romantic affection.
Meanwhile, Orihime at least has the whole 'first girl' and 'lovestruck' thing going for her.
>Nothing has developed between Rukia and Ichigo
Literally every scene they'e shared together since pic related has been full dere in the tsundere. What have you been reading?
That is frustrating. I thought Orihime's romantic subplot was going to be resolved in the Arrancar arc but sometime during the battle against Nnoitra her relevance started to fade and was completely gone when Ichigo beat Ulquiorra.
Are we reading the same manga? When something like this happens between two characters exclusively it's a little more than just platonic. Kubo has already said they are more than friends, less than lovers at the moment. Their relationship is closer than any other in the entire series.
>Don't know why people ship Ichiruki so much.
Because they have such a good relationship with each other and have had some of the most emotional moments in the series with each other. We want to see them together.
It follows the manga faithfully, I believe they started adaptation after the manga ended. As far as I remember there aren't any fillers.
Whichever medium you prefer honestly, you won't miss out on anything if you watch anime.
Nothing romantic, theire relationship was tsundere from literally the start of the series. They have a close bond blablablah but you have to be wearing shipping googles to say every scene they've shared lately has been romantic.
Right now I'd argue about NaruHina is currently the most popular pairing but IchiRuki historically has been more prevalent.
>There's a lot of symbolism going on between them.. but NOTHING romantic. It's literally all platonic duality and concepts not related to romantic affection.
At this point there is just enough chemistry that one scene could turn their relationship into a romantic one but at the moment nothing to really commit to IchiRuki.
The thing is that he knows there is going to be a shitstorm so at best, we'll get something at or near the very end.
>Rukia's face completely lighting up whenever she feels Ichigo
Since I don't think I should open a new thread for Bleach when there's technically one open already, I'll just use that.
Pic related is something to think about, but it has already been mentioned before. Something else I thought of after we found out that Hollow Ichigo was the source of his Shinigami power after all, and thus the true Zangetsu, was that, well, if Hollow Ichigo gave two power-ups, one controlled and another, then what, since he is after all the true Shinigami power (just taken over and Hollowfied by White), if the mask was Ichigo's real Shikai, and the Horned Hollow form is his Bankai?
After all, the function of White was to infect Shinigami, and since he passed on to Ichigo and became his Shinigami powers, he must have done so. However, the powers Ichigo gained from him were, again, in the form of a mask and a full hollow form.
And then I thought of how Zanpakuto spirits (mostly in the anime, but they were Kubo's own design) wield their Shikai. Not their Bankai, not sealed Asauchi swords, but their own Shikai, and then I thought back at how White/Zangetsu looked when Ichigo first imprinted an Asauchi with his Shinigami powers. You can see in pic related again: It's Hollow Ichigo with the mask on.
What about on /a/? NaruHina is pretty big here at the moment, but that might just be for the Naruto ships only. Either way, as far as Naruto ships goes, it's pretty good taste. We can all agree that IchiRuki is superior, but still.
You're really confusing platonic for romantic, anon. Take off the goggles for a second and realize that while the two care very much for each other, there's nothing romantic yet.
I used to be pretty sure that IchiRuki would be endgame, but I don't think Kubo plans to take their relationship to the next level. All of their (few) interactions last year have been strictly friendship based, unless you're wearing your shipping goggles too tight.
They obviously didn't. It was pretty clear that they liked each other though, and that's what makes it different from IchiRuki. Other than that, yeah, they're similar. Partners, trust, most important person, all that shit.
I would say that on /a/ IchiRuki is still much bigger.
No one thinks anything strictly romantic has happened yet, but some of the interactions between Ichigo and Rukia are much more than "just friends". None of the other friends in the manga have ever had any interactions anything like the ones that Ichigo and Rukia get. It feels like they're relationship could progress to romance very naturally.
It could be turned romantic but it's a stretch to interpret their current feelings as romantic. Kubo can be very obvious if he wants to, there's not many times Ishida is hinted to like Orihime, but it's enough give just about everyone that impression.
Thank God the UlquiHime ship sunk further than the Titanic. That was hands down the most retarded ship ever. It made absolutely no sense to pair them together. Thank God Kubo shot UlquiHimefags down by confirming Ulquiorra's death in an interview. At this point Orihime has a better chance of ending up with Ishida.
This. Fuck it somehow manages to be more canon than IchiRuki ever was. Imagine if it was a het ship.
> It feels like they're relationship could progress to romance very naturally
It could, but if we're looking at the manga right now without shipping goggles on for a moment, most signs points towards that it won't.
Their current feelings being romantic would imply that they realize they are attracted to each other in a love way. They don't.
Actions speak otherwise though. I don't want to label them as romantic because that's a cheesy word and meant for already-love. But it's more than friends. That's what makes people like them, you can't really define them. Like when they parted after HM arc. It wasn't love, it wasn't friendship, it wasn't romantic, it wasn't platonic. Kubo hit the nail on the head with his interview.
No, this is Bleach. Of course won't fucking die.
No, I meant that their recent interactions (and by recent I mean the last couple of years) haven't even been anything that special for them, unless you're retarded and wants to see something that just simply isn't there.
Rukia has reached critical mass dere though anon.
>Ichigo means "one who protects"
>implying him giving up his life to protect everyone would not be the most poetic Kubo thing to do
Their interaction past timeskip vs. pre timeskip are special because Rukia's gone deredere.
Apart from that I agree, because they haven't even had many scenes at all, because Kubo's pacing is atrocious.
I didn't like it either and I'm glad it sunk but Kubo did imply it towards the end.
I get you but I didn't really care for it for some reason. I've shipped IshiHime since the SS arc but to be honest I care more for execution rather than the specific ship so its not that I disliked UlqiHime because I was so invested in another ship but rather it just didn't click with me. I think Ulquiorra was just too creepy for it to work. If he was a little less creepy and/or he and Orihime interacted just a little more I might've been on board but the way it was done was just weird.
Even after all this fucking page and Rukia literally having ultra dere moments for Ichigo
After Ichigo having saved her ass a million times
Literally fought everyone on Soul Society for her
Kubo still dont make the ship official
Im bloody pissed with Kubo capacity of delaying shit
It will be naruto all over again
This is a joke right?
Nobody actually thinks that any relationship in Bleach will get any form of romantic conclusion, right?
The best you're gonna get is the scene when Ichigo said goodbye to Rukia when he was losing his powers.
Is there any examples in this series where a man has reciprocated the attention a female has given him? Except for Ichigo and Ishida's dads, and they don't really count since we knew they were married before seeing the flashback.
It's fucking creepy, I'm just pointing out that it's obvious why it'd be a popular ship among girls.
Bad boy takes interest in girl, she gradually changes him, Ulquiorra was fangirl bait, etc.
He blushed because he was embarrassed about judging Orihime's outfit in front of her and he didn't want to just flat out say her tits are nice.
Its obvious he think she's attractive because pretty much everyone thinks Orihime is hot but there's little to no romantic chemistry between the two.
They're probably referring to the scene where Cad asks Ichigo what he thinks of Orihime's new revealing outfit. He blushes and says its too revealing, that's it.
It would be bigger than IchiRuki.
Oh shit, Ichigo is kind!
Well, at least it was confirmed mutual. I just think Kubo doesn't know how couples are supposed to act, which is why every marriage in Bleach features dead people. He can show people lusting after each other and that's pretty much it.
Considering it's only marginally socially acceptable in Western society to ship two anime characters and only if they're straight, and the fan base Gon and Killua already have as both children and both boys... Yeah, it would be insane.
Battle shonen in Jump is really really really bad about showing couples in the present. Go ahead and name all of the living couples in the present of Bleach, One Piece, and Naruto (excluding the epilogue).
I think the fact that it was pretty clearly fan girl bait is what turned me off, though I do think it could've been done better. It was just too lightly hinted at. Just enough to bait the fan girls but not enough for it to feel developed or be interesting.
It means he's a sexually awkward teenager who was trying to avoid the situation. Nothing gentlemanly about it. Otherwise he wouldn't have dissed her.
Granted, he has to think she has a nice body. Everyone has to.
I got this feeling that Kubo began with having IchiRuki in mind
Then he decided to try IchiHime
And now he said "well this won't do" and is turning back to IchiRuki again
What the fuck Kubo
Decide yourself bleach isn't a harem anime
Pretty much this. Its canon that Orihime is beautiful ,doesn't mean Ichigo is romantically interested in her.
>Considering it's only marginally socially acceptable in Western society to ship two anime characters and only if they're straight
Why is western society relevant? Plus Korrasami says otherwise. Gon and Killua are at least 10 times gayer than those girls, it's only natural people will see this.
Ulquiorrac wasn't interested in Orihime so much as he was interested in human emotion. He was pretty much a machine throughout the duration of the story and didn't act more human until around his final battle with Ichigo. Orihime influenced that change, but his feelings weren't romantic in the slightest.
He's like that with characters in general. He comes up with interesting designs and personalities but hardly develops his characters beyond that. It makes for fun interactions but he ends up with a massive, underdeveloped cast.
Actually I think he started with IchiHime in mind and was planning on keeping Rukia and Ichigo platonic friends but IchiHime just didn't work out and the chemistry between Rukia and Ichigo has opened the IchiRuki door.
I like Ichiruki because I see it as Saber x Shirou done right
Because I'm not sure about Japanese society, and Korra is as accepted as comic book tv shows. But many regular anime watchers, despite not being homophobic, seek out heterosexual pairings by default.
>Plus Korrasami says otherwise.
Actually Korrasami kind of reaffirms it. LoK was on online release halfway through Book 3 and Korrasami was only confirmed in the last minute of the show in Book 4 and prior to that last scene it wasn't hinted at very strongly at all. In fact, without that last scene it would've been a much safer assumption to think them friends rather than lovers.
I'm not a NaruHina fag but If they like IchiRuki they have good taste.
It's Gon and Killua.
Because that's all they were allowed in a children's network. Online or not, they had to meet the same broadcast requirements. That doesn't tell you where the audience is at all though.
From what I can tell, both Naruhina and Narusaku fags are mostly Ichiruki
The main problem with Gin and Rangiku was that Mexico dragged out for too long. There were enough hints in SS to make it clear he cared about her, had he stabbed Aizen right after things would've made more sense.
The ichiruki development was almost entirety during the Sol.
Ichigo developed such a consistent teamwork with rukia, and appreciation. For the power she granted him that he is forever obligated to use that power for her protection.
The soul society arc had far more renruki development than ichiruki because it was kubo using rukia as an avenue for ichigo to enter, and change the shinigami world. This returns the obligation, yes, closing the open development.
So the bulk was pre ss, and the closure was in ss. Everything after was just characterization
>Because that's all they were allowed in a children's network. Online or not, they had to meet the same broadcast requirements. That doesn't tell you where the audience is at all though.
It does tell you that homosexual pairings aren't widely accepted though since they could hardly develop it on screen.
And you know what I kind of think it was done that way on purpose, so Bryke could pat themselves on the back for being progressive without really developing a lesbian relationship.
IchiHime fags are almost non-existant (in 4chan atleast)
Partially due to Orihime being a complete bland and uninteresting character.
Not to mention dumb and over-sized breasts
While Rukia is smart, actually gets shit done is prettier and got the perfect curves
The Korra audience was clearly tumblr, I would probably have liked Korrasami had not all the romantic subplots been cancerous and taken so much space, and it screamed of pandering.
Why? Sakura is nothing like Orihime. Or at least, I don't think she is. I haven't followed Naruto like I have Bleach.
I actually like Orihime but even I don't ship IchiHime. Its just a bad pairing and would be an underwhelming end game pairing.
Not to mention Asami was the most bland, uninteresting character in the series.
I started with the anime, rather than the manga, and Orihime was such a fun character during the early and SS arcs. She was this airhead who rarely ever reacted to things like a normal person. The anime cut out her crush on Ichigo, so she was just an eccentric girl who wanted to see interesting things.
>Asami was the most bland, uninteresting character in the series
No, that was Mako. He was so bland and uninteresting he made other characters around him bland and uninteresting. See Bolin with Mako and Bolin when he's off on his own. If he had dated Korra and Asami they wouldn't have ended up gay.
It feels like her whole entire character now hinges on loving Ichigo. It'll be great if that leads to her getting over it and becoming her own character, but for the past few years it's been terrible.
That's actually probably what happened. She was great, Kubo realized that, and took her character down a few notches so he could give her some development. Eventually. One day.
I only switched over to the anime in the beginning of the Arrancar arc when Ichigo was training with the Vizards, were there more IchiHime hints during the SS arc in the manga?
Back in the day, there was a lot of overlap between IchiRuki and NaruSaku, but that was before Sakura was utterly ruined in the Kage Summit arc and the sane NaruSakus gave up.
Completely. Kishi a shit though. Kubo's just a troll.
I think the only thing was when she was healing the gate dude after they tried to bust in through the wall, he brought her something to drink and some guys in the background started commenting on how cute she is and if she's single.
At least Mako did stuff other than pilot an airship. Mako
fought Ming Hua twice and took her out the 2nd timein Book 3 and in Book 4 he took out the power source for the mech
Mako wasn't perfect and he was one of the less interesting characters but Asami was just there doing little to nothing for extended periods of time.
The problem with Mako is that he was meant to get with the avatar to satisfy Zutara shippers in a short spin off, and then they got more seasons and they had to make due with the character they accidentally gave him.
>were there more IchiHime hints during the SS arc in the manga?
It's more the early arcs. There were a lot of moments where Orihime openly expresses her crush on Ichigo, but the anime cuts that out. For instance, when he doesn't walk her home, she kicks herself for it and wishes he'd been more forward.
Early Orihime was just crazy.
Hime already knows she lost though.
True and Asami had the same problem. Funny enough because Bolin was the least relevant of the 4 in Book 1 they had more room in which to work with him and in the end he was probably the best one of the Krew behind Korra herself.
Didn't Jackie Diaz do an IchiHime and a Zutara comic? I suspect there's a lot of overlap between those two terrible ships.
>Faggots talking about Naruto in an Ichiruki thread
Naruto had TWO BIG reasons ti love hinata...
I really want this to happen in Bleach with
Why is NaruSaku bad?
They ended up digging an even bigger ditch before getting out with Book 3.
Kishimoto just gave us the best pairing possible.
You better hope Kubo listens to his senpai.
>Why is NaruSaku bad?
Sakura just punches Naruto and treats him horribly. Naruto puts Sakura on a pedestal and walks on eggshells around her. There isn't a single moment between them that makes you go,
>Aw, how cute.
Naruto still didn't display any signs of affection for Hinata, mostly forgetting about her or viewing her advances in a completely platonic way. There was literally nothing between them until the movie where he 'realized' he loved her. THe same could very well happen to Ichigo concerning Orihime.
It never did, landwhales just made you think that it did.
But Hinata is a bland character who's entire existence was to say "Naruto-kun" and stutter. I've never liked her as a character. Then again, I don't like shy big titty characters ever, maybe that's why Rukia is my waifu.
Is it just me, or have we been these threads multiple times a day, every day lately?
Not that I'm complaining. I've got 600+ images in my IchiRuki folder, and yet every thread you glorious niggas post something I don't have.
>That subtle Ichiruki
I'm still waiting for the anon with 3000 images to post a zipThis is my favorite from yesterdays thread.
Oh I see
>THe same could very well happen to Ichigo concerning Orihime.
When I first watched Naruto I wanted Naruto to get Sakura just so Sasuke would lose and end up alone.
Me too, anon.
But yeah, that was a good thread.
Hinata's centered around love, but it's a very idyllic love. She's the first one to see how great Naruto was. Growing up, she was the only one who would root for him. She's been in love with him their entire lives. His existence is what allows her to grow and move past her own problems.
I feel like you're indirectly comparing Hinata's love for Naruto to Orihime's love for Ichigo, but they're quite different.
It would be impossible to know because Naruto was banned on /a/ for most of the time that it was a manga
It was only tolerated because of newfag mods in 2012 fucking things up and later on because of all the faggots who were probably born after 1998 moving in and the manga itself coming to an end in 2014
Orihime still hasn't had any scenes like Hinata's in part 2, like the confession/death scene, the "I can see in your eyes that you're strong", or the post-Neji's-death pep talk and hand-holding. And Orihime already had an entire arc about Ichigo saving her, that ended in an IchiRuki scene.
>But Hinata is a bland character who's entire existence was to say "Naruto-kun" and stutter
Hinata isn't Orihime.
I do think that Orihime and Hinata are similar actually, they both observe from a distance and admire the MC, they are both shy and big tittied, both aren't that strong, and Orihime loves Ichigo for almost the same reasons as Hinata. Difference is Hinata had zero competition because Naruto characters are all shit, and she sort of manned up during the pain fight.
Kishimoto is a chauvinist because wives must be submissed to the husband... Or not?
>they both observe from a distance and admire the MC
>Orihime loves Ichigo for almost the same reasons as Hinata
But they saw different things. Hinata fell in love with Naruto because of what he does. He works hard and picks himself up when he falls. That's everything Hinata wants to be in life. Orihime admired Ichigo for fairly normal reasons. It's just your average crush.
Also, Hinata has been in love with Naruto since childhood. Inoue has only liked Ichigo for a few years.
>they are both shy and big tittied
Inoue isn't shy. She's pretty outgoing, actually.
They don't really have anywhere else to go, I guess. Naruto is over, and you can only have so many threads circlejerking about victory before it gets dull. If Rukia wins the Ichibowl, the same will happen to us.
You're in a shipping thread anon, not sure what you expected.
Or, you know, there's overlap.
I read both series. I wanted Naruhina and I want Ichiruki.
I don't know, Hinata has always just been such a mind numbingly boring character that I have always disliked her.
If it were anybody but Kubo I'd say yes, but with his pacing I'd ballpark it more at 2-3 years. That's enough time for everybody to get a few chapters worth of fight in, a keikaku or two, the inevitable plot twist where Yhwach isn't actually the final boss, and some wrap-up shenanigans.
Hinata was underused. We didn't get to see how she'd react in most situations. The series would have benefited with her being the lead heroine, though. We could have gotten to see more sides to her.
He's about that, maybe 190. Rukia is 144cm and weighs 72 pounds
>The series would have benefited with her being the lead heroine, though.
Pretty much. Sakura was a perfectly fine character on paper, but Kishi obviously didn't know what to do with her and she ended up being completely flat.
On the other hand the whole reason Kishi didn't give us much Hinata was because he knows he's bad at writing romance and feels awkward doing it. If he did replace Sakura with Hinata, it could have been painful.
I started reading it this year, those guys are gay as fuck. One of my friends keeps denying it. I'm worried he's in the closet now and just making himself miserable, no sane man could not see that shit
It's the same in all honesty.
Both love the MC from childhood, both see potential in him that others don't or can't, both admire him from a distance, and both grow stronger as a result of their love.
But she's so cute and tiny! Also you're a shorty, 195 cm master race reporting in.
Kishimoto was trying really hard to make Sakura more popular. I'm not surprised if the fact Hinata barely has screen-time is because of Kishimoto wanting to try to reduce Hinata popularity in order to get Sakura to shine.
If Rukia died, how absolutely, unbelievably furious would Ichigo be?
Ever since reading vol 5 all those years ago, I've never been able to let go of Orihime/Tatsuki otp. I'm a faggot.
When it comes to IchiRuki, though, I don't need them to be romantic at the end, I just need them to be able to contact/see each other whenever they want. Every time they're separated just feels bad.
He's going to have to stay in SS at the end of the series. Look how happy Rukia is about it too.
Considering Ichigo's powerlevel is directly tied to his emotions/state of mind?
I don't think there'd be much left of SS or the RR to save after he was finished.
She really isn't the best at being a waifu, anon. Remember how scared she was of Ichigo's hollow? Do you remember how Rukia reacted?
>If it was defeat, then you just need to train harder.
>If it was about your companions,
>Then you just need to reseal those promises after becoming a more virtuous man.
>If it's about becoming a Hollow...
>Then just become strong enough until you can shatter it in an instant.
>Even if you can't rely on anyone else...
>Just pull yourself together and roar!
>The "you" that still lives on in my heart, Ichigo...
>Would do exactly that!!
He might react strongly at first, but I get the feeling that he might just flop down in the middle of the fight.
She was just one of the thousands of shinigami, and in a separate squad to boot. They simply hadn't met before. We don't even know how long Isshin got to be a captain.
One thing I hate about Bleach is how homogenous the characters can be sometimes. Remember the Lost Agent Arc?
>Inoue: Oh no, there's a new villain! I better hide it from Ichigo to not worry him.
>Ichigo: Oh no, there's a new villain! I better hide it from Orihime to not worry her.
>Chad: Oh no, there's a new villain! I better hide it from Ichigo to not worry him.
>Ishida: Oh no, there's a new villain! I better hide it from everyone to not worry them.
Why can't any of the characters act differently?
>Is she in denial?
Well there are hints she likes both Ichigo and Orihime. Either way she's probably holding back because she wants her friend to be happy.
Reminder that Ichigo and Rukia can see each other in their eyes. Orihime can't.
You know, this could be spun any which way since it's only Orihime narrating her own feelings. For example, "she's just insecure and doesn't realize that Ichigo's gaze absorbs all of her instead of reflecting it away". Or "Ichigo's insecurity of his own hollow side makes him distance himself from Orihime, who he knows to be fragile and worries about"
I do ship IchiRuki though.
The only reason that I take it as solid evidence is the fact that Kubo puts an emphasis on Ichigo and Rukia being able to read/see each other in their eyes.
Maybe you're just overthinking it. Aren't all of those instances pretty situational? Like what you just posted, couldn't it just be an artistic ploy to prepare the reader for the next page?
I would think that if it hadn't happened more than once, and it only happens with Ichigo and Rukia. Rukia also had Ichigo reflected into her eyes in the SS arc.
Not sure, but there should be a massive
Rangiku is definitely popular. She has her own doujins, and I'm not talking about hentai doujins.
Oh man, you do realize that Kubo is going to take a huge dump on all of you and have either Orihime win the Ichibowl or forego a romantic resolution altogether, right?
Not even an Orihimefag.
He's right though
But no matter. There was only fool's hope to begin with.
I'd like Rukia to win too, but I'm just speaking realistically.
Kubo has let us down before with his retarded choices of how the storyline should progress, and he doesn't give a fuck about what his audience wants.
I never said I disliked them. But there is a massive gap in both popularity and as characters.
IIRC Ichigo and Orihime first met as kids the day Hime's brother Sora died. He was hit by a car and dragged him all the way to the Kurosaki clinic. Ichigo saw them right as he opened the door to go play outside and Sora died right when the ambulance finally arrived.
Kubo is an IchiRuki shipperfag though.
Don't tell me
Orihime fell in love with Ichigo because of that "bridge effect" the name of which I forgot? Misattribution of affection or something like that. Basically, after experiencing something like walking over a shaky bridge, your brain may misattribute the reason for your arousal to a person you met on the other side, rather than the fear of falling down.
Yes, and? She still might not have even heard of Isshin's name. We don't even know how long Isshin served as a captain.
I've always been under the impression that Ichigo is Kaien Shiba reincarnated. We now know that Ichigo is actually a Shiba since Isshin is the Shiba clan's head, but this doesn't refute the reincarnation theory, especially considering that Ichigo and Kaien are so much alike in looks and personality.
IIRC Kaien said that their bodies become the reishi of Soul Society, but he didn't say anything about their souls.
>Soul Society is just a gigantic energy drain for the Soul King to use
Think about it, why would a soul need a konso to go to Soul Society, if going there is a natural way of the universe?
Isn't Konso basically the same as marking cattle?
Kaien's soul was in Aaroniero.
Here's betting that the when people die the Soul King eats their souls. SS is his food source. That's why they let shitty districts be rather than trying to fix them.
Isshin was a captain 20 years ago, Rukia graduated from the academy 40 years ago.
Everyone seems to know the higher-ranking people and what they look like, it'd be a stretch to say that Rukia didn't know who he was, especially another Shiba, unless he became a captain straight out of the academy.
>600 post Ichiruki thread every day for the past three weeks.
The only difference between Ichigo and Kaien was the type of Zanpakuto that they possess. Unlike the reiatsu channeling and releasing sword(s) that is Zangetsu, Nejibana was a double ended spear that channeled water. We do know that a Zanpakuto is created through a Shinigami's manifestation and projection of his/her Inner Hollow as a sword (inb4 Fate/Stay Night references), so on surface value the projection of their Inner Hollows are fundamentally different. However, Ichigo and Kaien are also similar not only in looks and personality, but in their affiliation with Hollows. Not just any Hollow though, but Hollows created by Aizen.
Kaien was possessed by the body snatching and Zanpakuto nullifying Hollow Metastacia and Rukia was forced to kill him. Ichigo's Inner Hollow White who was sealed inside Ichigo's mother and passed on to Ichigo upon his birth was also created by Aizen. It could be possible that Metastacia could have impacted and mutated Kaien's Inner Hollow in some way when he possessed Kaien, which could possibly mean that White was a byproduct of the experiment that Aizen conducted on Kaien. Why would Aizen coincidentally use two of his creations to impact two members of the Shiba bloodline? Why would Aizen be so interested in Ichigo's growth despite it hindering his plans to dominate Soul Society and the Human World?
Their must be another link that Ichigo has with Kaien besides bloodline and reincarnation that we're not seeing but that Aizen knows. I think we're in for a bumpy ride very soon guys.
>Mirror Flower, Water Moon
>Flower, Water shit
>Kyouka Suigetsu and Engetsu are the same zanpakutou, just red and green
>Aizen is literally a shiba
it's so simple
Perhaps. Isshin is quite familiar with Aizen. Both were Captains around the same time but they seemed to know each other personally. I will literally flip a shit if Ichigo and Aizen are blood-related. Aizen did mention that he knew about Ichigo since the day he was born, mainly due to his experiment with White, but that can't be the only reason.
It's possible that Aizen studied Aaroniero later and implemented his findings onto White. He did use Shinigami souls to create White, and he might as well have got it from Aaroniero. If Kaien's soul had been inside Aaroniero, Rukia would've felt it, I think
>shipping thread turns into a level 4 reading/specula thread
I love you fuckers so much.
My theory is she got memory wiped.
In chapter 0 Kiyone mentioned that Rukia had been to the human world once before, to which Rukia looked confused. We know the hogyouku had to be placed in her after Urahara left SS, but prior to her meeting Ichigo. So, that unknown time is probably when she got it.
Meaning, she met Urahara somehow, maybe by seeing something she shouldn't have. Like Isshin. And when Urahara wiped her memory, he actually wiped it of all she knew about Isshin. Even from the time he was in SS.
Ultimate twist: Rukia met a little Ichigo during this time as well. And thus the story of Destiny began.
>We know the hogyouku had to be placed in her after Urahara left SS, but prior to her meeting Ichigo
It was in the Gigai Urahara gave her. The gigai that was going to turn her into a human, and hide the hougyoku with her forever.
For her memory loss, there's no explanation that I can think of.
There has got to be a relation between Aizen and the Shiba's. There's still the question of why they fell from glory. I would assume that Isshin faked his death, rather than said "bye SS I'm defecting".
I subscribe to the theory that Ichigo will become the next SK, and if he does it probably precludes him from relationships.
Or maybe not, who knows. Aizen seemed to imply something was wrong with the current SK, maybe Ichigo will have a better solution.
You must go beyond anon. To the Kubo level
Current SK is probably fucking around with the souls in some way. Maybe he's like a hogyoku? And that's what inspired Aizen into experimenting and doing his shenanigans. But Aizen was doing some pretty immoral things, so SK has to be doing something really bad. Hmm. Forcing each soul to have a predetermined destiny or something?
>The stand Ablaze Is Aizen's theme song
>Chapter 512 when Ichigo comes back to rescue Soul Society was renamed The Stand Ablaze
Kubo level - ??????????????????????OVERLOAD
We know that he also used his research on Metastacia to create Wonderweiss, as Wonderweiss' ability was specifically tailored to nullify Yamamoto's Ryujin Jakka (if you look at Wonderweiss's eyes in his Resureccion form they're the same as Metastacia's). Aaroniero eventually absorbed Metastacia and thus inherited Kaien's memories and abilities. Meanwhile White was a completely unique Vasto Lorde level Hollow while Aaroniero was always a Gillian and never even reached Adjuchas level. However, Aaroniero was known for absorbing many Hollows and its released form was a massive mound of flesh (a la Akira) composed of the hundreds of Hollows it absorbed. Aizen could very well have experimented on Aaroniero and found a shit ton of data on Hollows in order to create the Super Hollow that was White. The Hollows and Aizen's affinity with Ichigo and the Shiba clan could be much more than we anticipated. I need a moment to process more of this but I'll let you guys ponder on this a bit more.
>The power to crush destiny
Yeah, it's confirmed. Soul King is 'destiny'. Aizen didn't accept that. But he was already skrewed up, so he plotted to create a new being - who can beat it. Who wasn't bound by the Soul Kings will. A completely new, untainted soul. Ichigo.
I was here, but for some reason I can't remember. I do remember the excitement of Ichigo getting mindfucked though.
Don't say that, we got facebook and shit
You can debunk that theory. Those were just the cloaks that Urahara left behind before he left SS after his encounter with Aizen (see Turn Back the Pendulum). That's just Aizen, Gin, and Tousen.
It's not meant to be a serious theory. It's just an old theory that got debunked the very next chapter.
If the SK does represent destiny, then Urahara's poem certainly takes on a new context.
>Can anyone tell me how /a/ reacted then?
We were thrilled. I posted this the moment it showed up. I think it was the first picture of new Rukia on /a/.
At first we had a bunch of shitposters going "Hey look! Hanataro's back!" since Rukia admittedly has a haircut similar to Hanataro's now. But then they lightened up and we all celebrated Rukia's return.
Aizen said that by the time he discovered Rukia had it, she had disappeared in the human world. Implying she had it beforehand. And when Kubo was asked about when she got it he said "it's a secret".
She will win the strawberry.
This is fact.
NaruSaku 2.0 I will drink your tears.
Best girl will win.
If only, anon. ;_;
He couldn't even look Aizen in the eye when he was accusing him of being a monstrous pussy.
There's no fucking way we're getting off Kubo's ride without there being something more to Urahara.
>Character poem shits on destiny when one of the central themes of bleach is having the power to overcome it.
>Tessai and Yoruichi both follow him more or less unconditionally.
>Created his own versions of almost every Zero Squad Captain's invention.
>Only person smarter than Aizen, as said by Aizen himself.
>Despite this, he apparently has no desires to do anything about the SK, while it infuriated Aizen.
>Dodgy as fuck towards Ichigo after he beat Aizen.
>Turns out to be involved in pretty much everything involving Ichigo, from Masaki/Isshin's situation, to regaining his powers, and so on.
>Still haven't seen his bankai because "It's not something suitable for training others."
Urahara was fine about it. He basically just told Aizen to accept it.
Now that I re-read it, when the fuck did either of them ever see the Soul King?
my theory on Aizen is that he is much older than anyone thinks he is. Including Yamamoto.
>No Shinigami born in the past thousand years has been more powerful than I
Think about it
Urahara is a rat. Nobody knows his motivations except for Mayuri.
And he openly mocks them.
"It's all for the sake of Soul Society."
That line, has been used time and time again by Urahara.
