First cour is now over
How do you rate Ufotable job so far?
Amazing pacing for the first half especially with how they had some scenes rushed in F/Z.
I can't see how they could have any better since they had to use 3 1-hour long episodes for this alone.
Also loving the OST, glad they didn't use Kaijura for this.
Yeah, I actually thought the pacing was perfect.
Considering most VN adaptations fuck that up big time, it's nice to see one actually succeed with it.
I wished there were some more familiar songs but Disillusion was great.
Also, I really can't understand how someone can complain about ufotable's animation. What other anime this season was better in that regard?
People were hoping for Kalafina but this was good also.
The fact that this happened the week before the New Year makes it even better seeing how this is 10 year anniversary of F/SN and of the original This Illusion. That made it even more memorable
>Also, I really can't understand how someone can complain about ufotable's animation. What other anime this season was better in that regard?
Nothing really. To be honest everything that F/SN is doing is abnormal to any series.
Getting 3 1-hours episodes is unheard of. They are really going out their way to please the fans to their full extent.
The only complaints I have with it are really too minor to be worth mentioning. Fantastic adaptation so far. Very much looking forward to the second half.
I really bothered me that the entire, long ass scene between Shirou and Caster had no bgm.
That scene desperately needed some music and it was just blank the entire time. For what was supposed to be a dramatic confrontation, it certainly didn't come off as very dramatic
Not everything needs music.
Silence can reflect the drama going on.
Take Archer and Rin on the coach this episode.
I loved the scene where they was no sound and all you heard was the rain as they were both thinking about what their next move personally would be.
It becomes irrelevant after he gets rulebreaker'd because it needs a connection to Saber to work. Once he's no longer her master, it shuts off and stays off for the rest of the route.
Avalon is only really relevant in Fate
I love Seiba.
And they are not even expensive
I know if you want to be cheap you can get it for less than $300 on amazon but even if you want more bonuses you can still get it around $350.
Nah, Saber's very presence still gets Avalon running, just not as full capacity if Shirou was still in a contract with Saber.
Archer remarks on this when he's wondering how Shirou can still get up during their duel, and then deduces that Avalon is still helping out.
It's FSN. Unlike most adaptations, there's actually money in getting it right.
Let's put it like this: Carnival Phantasm is 12+ episodes of TYPE-MOON inside jokes, half of which are unintelligible to people who only ever watched the anime and most feature characters that have never even been in an anime adaptation.
AND IT SOLD PRETTY WELL.
This is buttfuckingly ridiculous and goes against conventional logic, but that's just the strength of Nasu's fandom in Japan. There really are a shitload of people who read the VNs and make a pretty lucrative target audience so... what the fuck, Ufotable decided to try and make a VN adaptation that kinda tries to make the source justice, because that shit will sell.
Once you pull off shit like CP or seven movies about a novel the writer himself thinks was amateurishly written, and make money off of that, you can pretty much do whatever the hell they fucking want.
so archer is from a timeline where shirou still got saber as his servant and turned into a CG? would that mean that there was originally another archer in that timeline or is it all timey-wimey paradoxical stuff?
Because of the way the whole system is set up to transcend time itself, its best not to think of it as a linear progression of cause and affect.
All heroes/counter guardians exist at all times, simultaneously. We just perceive them as being in the "present"
All that Tohsaka.
She is so fucking thirsty, my god.
I wouldn't have been surprised if she was squashing her fuckable butt all over Archer's lap in this scene.
I thought Sakura was suppose to be the semen demon.
who are the 7 servants and 7 masters for the current grail war
kirei-lancer and gilgamesh?
Thats 8 servants, unless assassin doesn't count
I am so happy that this scene is going to be animated properly.
mmfmfngn I need the next episode. I haven't been this excited since the time my mom let me fuck her ass.
I am sorry anon, but my boner cannot wait.
Gilgamesh is a servant from the last grail war given physical form by the grail. He doesn't technically count as a servant for the purposes of this war, though he retains his powers.
I dunno, this bone monster was kinda cute.
I don't particularly venture into the anime scene but can you tell me the story on why people care so much about the downloads and which release people download when none of you own the entertainment and edit the very same source files with minimal to no interesting changes outside of the cosmetic opening scenes with the glittery text
>I haven't been this excited since the time my mom let me fuck her ass.
>since the time my mom let me fuck her ass.
So they can feel better about themselves -- that they did something to make the best subs for viewing.
Quoting Daiz, an edited Crunchyroll script provides a totally different experience compared to just watching a regular Crunchyroll rip.
Today is Kirei's birthday,
Post some Kirei to celebrate best Fate girl.
I think they captured an important aspect of Saber that was missed previously.
She said it!
I don't know how. But Rin must be the Red Man!
That is why Archer has memories about Saber. Because Archer used to be Rin in his past life! And Rin knew Saber as she cooperated with Shirou!
I don't know how I didn't see this before.
When you play Kageso Tohya when a character has birthday the game will mentioned it. Or play on famous holidays like xmas
>mfw Secondaries dont know Ciels birthday
You'd be suprised
I like it. The few changes they have made all serve to enhance the show, which makes me happy.
I just hope that they don't do mana transfer dolphins and actually have Rin and Shirou sleep together, even if it is offscreen or alluded to.
First thanks for taking time and energy uploading and making sure we can watch it without hassle
I have no previous information on Daiz but from what you've described he sounds like a real bitch to work with and really pretentious. Like a whole project could fall apart because he was upset with a decision or offended by an anonymous post on the internet that is deliberately written to inspire rage inside of his heart because they know it'll work
I'm a fan of UTW for how they carefully crafted their files with the chapters, episode scripts with alternate and more specific translations and how neat and tidy the whole lot is. It makes me wonder why Aniplex doesn't hire them out to include it on the actual release
>You like making fun of me, you must be the devil
I knew /a/ was full of socially inept faggots but you make me look like some kind of suave playboy.
How can Saber say this when in the previous war the Lesser Grail was sitting right in front of her while both she and Gil were not dead yet?
Because she can rub two braincells together and figure out that was an anomaly. She is fed information about the grail war directly, and why would the source of the grail war lie?
Stop asking stupid questions and work shit out yourself faggot.
Once you realize F/SN was written BEFORE F/Z and none of the shit that happened in F/Z was even in someone's head, you'll stop thinking that F/Z's events are absolute you cunt.
That's not the full reason. If a servant really doesn't want to do something as it goes against their code, morals, or goals they can resist a single seal to a degree. Arturia possibly even has some additional leeway here because of her unique relationship with the grail as a servant.
Had caster used a second seal she'd have killed rin with no hope of resisting.
I like how they explicitly explained the actual nature of Shirou's "denseness".
This way, people should be able to understand.
>I am more surprised she doesn't remember the huge pool of evil shit that fell from the anus in the sky when she attacked it with her sword.
If you actually read the novels, she never actually saw anything of the sort.
"It seems Saber isn't dead yet.
She still hasn't completed the contract to become a heroic spirit. Something like, she wished for the Holy Grail on the verge of her death and she agreed to become a heroic spirit as a price for obtaining it.
So she isn't dead yet. She won't die until she obtains the Holy Grail, and she said she'll become a complete Servant once she does so."
Saber is unusual servant indeed.
Why did they go with "Satan" over "a devil"?
"You devil" and variations of it are even sayings used in the English language. But you rarely actually call people "Satan" unless it's one of those "Worse than Hitler" variants.
The net is truly vast and infinite.
I second this.
Just when she just won the kuzuki, this happens. HA is so depressing.
He is gone, anon.
Now the only thing we can do is remember him dearly as the man who taught us that everyone has a role to play, even if you are an orphan being taken care of by the Church.
i didn't like how he was the moe character all this time, he actually likes to tease her too, anyway I hope they do that scene with him and lancer teasing her at the second cour
>I hope they do that scene with him and lancer teasing her at the second cour
No way they're gonna skip that. They went all in with the date. They're gonna play out Rin and Shirou's relationship fully.
>she willingly gives it all up at the end so Avenger can finish the Grail
Remember that when people say Caster is evil, they're wrong.
>Well, the writing and characters are definetely way below F/Z.
Shirou's whole reason for not liking Caster boils down to "She's2spooky4me" she only takes Taiga hostage after he refuses her the first time, and she doesn't actually harm her, it's all a bluff.
On top of this, Her method of draining people hasn't actually killed anybody yet, and might not ever kill anybody if the grail war ends soon enough. Meanwhile Rider, Zerker, and Lancer are all murdering innocent people in cold blood.
Archer is right about her, her plan has the highest chance of success, and the least collateral damage. Sure the grail IS corrupted and bad things will happen no matter what, but Rin and Shirou joining team Caster would have been even more equipped to deal with it than just Team Archer by themselves.
Why did shirou, rin, and saber all get on the bus when they could see that it had no driver?
yes she knew since he summoned his fucking twin swords, plus the dreams, plus the obvious dislike towards shirou and she tried to confrim it while asking shirou about himself, the whole reason she finds him "interesting" isn't for the sake of sakura's crush anymore at this point, but she's smart enough not to ask him directly I guess, anyway UFOtable is taking some liberties with the "hints" that the whole "twist" won't be a shock even for secondaries at this point, the ending song just confirms how this adaptation was made just to pander vn readers more than zero secondaries
not that I'm complaining
You do understand what would happen if someone would make a wish to the grail with angry mayo inside right?
Caster might've known the grail's secrets but she still can't kick avenger out of it because his wish is still ongoing. Destroying the grail is best option, not obtaining it.
Honestly, it seems more like they are trying to lure the secondaries into thinking that Archer is someone from Camelot.
They had the whole "you must be from Saber's time" thing in this episode and in the preview for the second cour they had Saber saying "Archer, you are-" as if she suddenly remembered him.
Team Caster could have obtained the grail, realized it was corrupted, destroyed it and Then used more of casters magic hax to keep Caster, Archer, and Saber in the physical realm as a huge polyamorous megaharem.
She probably can just kick Angra Mainyu out of it.
It's a vortex of six billion curses, but she's a magus from the age of the gods who will presumably have infinite magical energy at her disposal. Dispelling curses is not impossible, despite the sheer mass of them being able to overwhelm a human magus like Tohsaka.
>Shirou's whole reason for not liking Caster boils down to "She's2spooky4me"
No it's even simpler. She's risking the lives of everyone in town presumably just to fulfil her own selfish wishes.
That's not okay to Shirou.
The fact she dared lay a hand on his precious Fuji-nee means Caster has a death sentence.
>How do you rate Ufotable job so far?
I'm not a lolicon but Kaleid is better.
I'm laughing so much at the shitters over at le reddit being mad how this is nothing like Zero.
8/10 for Ufotable.
And in the end the show will settle down to a 6/10 overall, Stay Night really isn't that great.
that would had probably involve stopping her from twisting and going into a killing spree day by day knowing nasu and just by taking tsukihime and knk sadist "tragic heroins" as a clue, people show how they are the desperate they get, by the time she shows at the fate route she may had no return for her actions and she got what she got, in UBW she's at the middle as she can get, don't get me started with HF. But I get she feels like a wasted character I feel she got a fair treatment as a tragic figure anyway
she's made to sufer and you know it, that's why she likes saber too
As she's a superior magus to Einzbern, Makiri, and Tohsaka all, she probably could just unmake the entire great grail and rebuild it after studying it for a bit.
She needed Saber for her magical power, and with just that, she could have finished the system without killing a single servant. The actual how of it is unknown, but she does it without destroying the world.
She knows Shirou is the man in red, she knew Shirou can read her lips because of his sight.
It's a sign of her addiction problem.
Thank you guys. You made me happy for an instant.
Now i am out.
I wonder, chibis are their post route self right? she could got the habit somewhere
I can actually see this happen,
>Touko taking rin into the vices and trickery
>Aoko trying to unbroke sakura
Yes it all fits
Fate/zero is fucking great, likeable MC, interesting casts, wonderful action, great music.
regretfully Fate UTW is so bland and mediocre it's almost an insult to fate/zero or fate franchise in general
the most annoying thing of all is the MC, Shiro is fucking betamax faggot, i know acher is future shiro bla bla bla, but he's look and act like a faggot, they should concentrate more on archer and other interesting characters like kirei and gil instead we got muh ideal faggotry
OK Astolfo and a Master but who's the girl?
Kinda looks like Jeanne but I can't be sure.
And why the hell is there a dragon? I don't remember anyone in Apocrypha capable of pulling that off.
The CG is horrible. Everything else is nice.
>taiga is going on a date
>she goes to Kiritsugu's grave
Holy fuck my heart wasn't ready
This ILLUSION by LiSA
Fucking Aniplex for using the idol of the moment, I want Sachi Tainaka back.
Pretty decent if very slowly paced show though like most Type Moon stuff it was kind of interesting. Leaning towards a 7/10 for now. I still don't understand what it is that makes people go extra crazy nuts over this show but it was definitely one of the better ones of the season.
You can't really compare the two. Kawai's soundtrack for the movie was frantic; it had to keep up with the pacing. Heavy use of choir, lots of pounding beats. It's high octane.
The score for the show has time to breath; develop themes and flesh things out.
Not bad, pretty good. I really hated some of the liberties they took with extra scenes/how scenes played out like the Berserker fight and Saber vs Fake Assassin, but liked some others like the Rin vs Illya and the church one of today so I can forgive the shitty ones I guess.
Also the Caster one for Rule Breaker scene was kinda weird. Did they fill having a whole day without any action was too much? Also Kirei and Lancer were both 10/10 in the last episode, they stole the show.
this new adaptation makes me realize how shitty the whole story is. literally how much time has passed? and how many things have lancer and beserker done?it's supposed to be a war/battle royale but things only happen when the MC is involved.
I hope the Shirou vs Gil fight will be done properly his time. Sword spam vs sword spam with mandatory Into The Night and EMIYA soundtracks.
It's a first person novel. Except for a few interludes and additional scenes added by Ufotable, you're almost always seeing things from Shirou's perspective. The other masters are doing things. Lancer for instance has been scouting out all of the other servants for Kirei. You're just not seeing that because the story doesn't happen in third person.
As an adaptation it's pretty close to perfect though I'm not a fan of the OST, I liked the new scenes written by Nasu like the Iliya one in episode 3 so it would have been nice to have more of that but I guess the second cour will have more original stuff.
As an actual independent show it's 6-7/10, it's a flaw that was already in the game but it really feel like nothing much has happened and despite the great production values there was no fight or scene that had any real impact.
Probably would have rated it a bit higher if this season wasn't so full of heavy hitters but honestly UBW kind of pales compared to some of them
No, the silence was a good move. It's not like Shirou was going to bust casters' ass. Having tense music would signal he could have or was about to do something, like a battle. He could do nothing really and knew it.
How can Rin be ugly when she's so cute?
Not allowed to do things
Illyasviel is not even in this to win
Yes, because she's only involved in this dumb war to see the last vestige of her family.
Caster thinks she killed him, but never saw the body. The whole thing is completely offscreen, we just hear about it secondhand from Caster, so the details are left to your imagination.
If I remember right the manga adaptation of Fate actually had her sending Berserker up to the temple to try and take her out at one point.
The key thing to understand is that no, you're not getting the full picture because the narrative wasn't structured to give you the full picture. Some routes you get to see what some character do more than others. The visual novel medium allows for this sort of approach. We're lucky with UBW because that's the route that has the most balance in terms of seeing masters do things.
I actually want them to make Shirou seem even more powerful than in the VN for the sole purpose of pissing off Shirou hating zerobabbies. What better way than Gil getting absolutely fucking rekt by Shirou.
She does send herc to the temple, Kojiro doesn't let him through the gate though.
When it started with the Bread scene I expected Illya.
Then Rin showed up and it all felt so wrong.
Rin is the superior Ilya, though.
canonically Seker fights Lancer, Assasin Caster, Archer, Saber and Rin in all routes, lancer fights him first (considering how his scouting got him fighting every servant and retiring every time) before even rin summons archer it seems, Seker goes to the temple at some point but couldn't get in for some reason
I would liked that animated considering Hercules and Medea could actually know each otherI don't remember berseker fighting Rider at any point though
>This pure crotch has galloped through countless battles and mountains of blood.
Why is pussy that has known plenty of horseback riding so very arousing?
>biting your sword
Just what do you expect from Seibah
This scene was cute as fuck.
For one, why in the world does it revolve around a school setting? Secondly, it's the exact same story with the exact same goal. It's piss retelling shit mixed with high school.
Babies first VN and newfags are the worst.
I hope all the weak ass trolls get bored of posting shit like this in the coming weeks when they have new shows to shitpost about.
Either way saying nothing happened is an exaggeration. You got to see the development of Shirou, Rin, Archer and provide all the set up for the second cour. Both Fate and HF would have been slower.
Stop comparing shit to shit like it has any point.
It was slow as fuck and the characters were barely developed.
Considering it had 3 fucking one hour episode and a full cour and still managed to develop exactly nothing that's quite a feat.
There is more soul in one episode of Shirobako than the entirety of this season of UBW
New rule for Fate threads: do not respond to anybody complaining about the show. At all. They are almost all bait or copy/pasted from other sites. Even if they aren't shitposting, they aren't saying anything interesting or worth responding to anyway.
Stop responding to obvious bait. Do you think they will ever change their opinion? They likely do not even watch the show. Learn how to spot obvious shitposters and stop making these threads unbearable.
And here's another butthurt poster or are you the same person? Well, no matter. If you can't take any criticism, just stay put in your containment thread and please just make 1 threads. Having 7 threads about Fate is really annoying.
And to the viewers who aren't blind fanboys.
There is a difference between adapting a full route in less than 2 hours or more than 9, there is a nice middle out there they completely missed out of pure fanboying
I don't understand why anyone would watch this.
Everyone already played all routes several years ago. There already was an anime and movies. Why would you watch the same thing again and again?
