I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it, both the hype and the show itself.

I came here yesterday asking for advice about watching the dub or the original with subs, and I ended up watching with subs. Here I am now, about 24 hours later, and I'm now finished with the show.

It was fun. I haven't really watched much anime before, but it was really thorougly enjoyable. The whole concept and idea was so ridiculous, and it was amazing. Also, I don't know if this is normal for all anime, but this show was seriously "Plot Twist: The Animated Series". Seriously, the whole anime can be boiled down to one statement:

Great show, glad I watched. Animation was mediocre, but it was still enjoyable. Over-the-top and ludicrously amusing. I actually laughed a fair amount of times at the different characters' antics. Especially Aikuro, I fucking loved how extreme all his monologues were with the slowly sliding clothes and glowing pink nipples. It was glorious.

I have always said KlK is a fun show and I had more fun with it than TTGL largely due to the perfection that is Mako. Also I hate large portions of the second half of TTGL more than any arc in KlK.

My problem with KLK was the second half. It was a whole lot of nothing. It felt slow paced and didn't progress anywhere for several episodes.

The show was AOTS until Nui showed up. I loved the tournament arc. Had KLK been one cour, it would have been much better.

But in serious terms, he never wrote any romantic sub-plots. Gamagori and Mako's relationship was of rivalry and respect.

Sushio and Imaishi never contradict him either. Those teases were obviously animators doing, whether for baiting people to buy the merch/BD's or them pleasing their own shipping agenda, certainly is something that usually happens in plenty of other series.

I dropped the show somewhere at season 2. What the hell happened? The Fire Faggot became an actual homosexual faggot or what? Or did Asumi became a dyke?.

On KLK though, Nakashima never intented to write any romance sub-plot of element since the beginning. So, in a way, I'm glad he never succumbed to fan favorites or shippingfaggotry, and stood on his ground firm over and over again with the whole "No Romance" stuff, despite Imaishi and executives shitting on his script.

I hate to point out something like this, but the same thing can be applied to Ryuko and Mako or with Ryuko and Senketsu or with Satsuki and Gamagori or any of the other Devas, (well, maybe exceptng Inu, but that's due to their inhability to use him as more as the exposition boy).

Gama x Mako and any other "pairing" in this show are just a classic "bait and switch" in the romantic department.

All those teases were obvious pandering, and even though I enjoyed them, I'm aware of what they are and I'm not claiming "canon" like some idiotic shipperfaggot when in reality never amounts to anything.

Now think about it, Gamagori as a character, was an ok character, but he could have ever acheived a more than a decent level of popularity outside fujos and femdomfags if he wasn't attached to Mako's hip.

Mako, on the other hand, as a character would be the same with or without Gamagori.

Unfortunately, Gamagori is popular for shipping reasons, be with Mako, Satsuki or anyone else, despite having legit reasons for being one of the best boys in this show.

Gamagoori is best kill la kill

I thought it was a really fun show and liked the characters for the first part. Boobs always flopping everywhere was a big plus. The villain Ragyo was interesting and pretty sexy, Satsuke was sexier and Ryouka was sexiest. The fighting was fun and nice to look at it. Although, when comparing this to anime that I love it doesn't quite get there. I probably won't fully watch it again. 7.8/10 I still liked it

For how simple the premise was, the execution was pretty damn good. I mean, think of all the series that start out with far more and still find a way to fail due to writing, directing, and piss poor execution.

The characters were decent as well.
KLK just overall has its own style that sets it apart from most series.
