I was hoping that the movie would stop at him going back to the future. The next scene where he returns kinda ruins it for me.
It never ends. The manga just stops for some reason and I don't think the TV series ever stop.
>i'm not a robot
Now, this is insulting for Doraemon.
It's pretty good. It follows the manga closely with added original scenes with future Nobita. I almost cried a few times.
Yeah, I just don't wanna say it.
No, this phone-booth; it can alter reality to whatever the user want. The most memorable usage I remember is when Nobita want the world to have magic and everything just spiral down from there.
>added original scenes with future Nobita
This is going to be good, can't wait to cry. The future and past scenes are always tear wrenching, espically if it involve Nobita's family member.
The phone booth works by bringing them to a parallel world, so someone able to travel between worlds can still bet that.
No bath scene in the movie? *grabs pitchfork and torch*
It warps reality. When reality is warped it created two timeline where it wasn't warped and when it was warped. That's the reason as to why in the movie they can go back to the original world by going back in time.
Oh, I see, thank you for the explanations. No wonder they try to defeat the evil wizard in the magic movie instead of just reverting back to the normal world.
It was difficult reading Doraemon growing up because my Mandarin was just barely not good enough to read it completely fluently and my Malay was also just barely not good enough to read it fluently, so on balance no matter which language I tried to read it in I was still only getting 90% of the dialogue which was fine for the short chapters but when it came to the Long Stories I was missing plot points.
Also the UK
They recently got a heavily altered/censored version
I watched a few episodes, and it really wasn't that bad. Voice acting was decent, and they didn't even censor the word dorayaki, although they said from the beginning that they would refer to them as yummy buns, which is understandable.
Japan makes these edits then gives it to us.
Will Nobita be a great master?
I know, I'm just curious why they felt the need to change a medical kit to pizza for US release. A lot of replacement seem pretty strange.
So stereotype then? I wouldn't be surprise.
>Trip and flip Saibah's skirt
The quality is good enough since its a cinema employee leak I think, subs can be weird with Nobita = Noby , Sunio = Sneech, Gian = Big G. Nothing that common sense cant replace.
Well to be fair, the movie still aired in the cinema, so that's the best you got.
Also, there's english subtitle above the indonesia. The only issue with that is that they use english name for the character.
>Sewashi = Soby
>Giant = big G
What's Doraemon gender again?
what's Doraemon's gadget that able to pander your fetish?
mine is pic related
>loli into christmas cake in no time!
something that come close to ending is at the end of tankoubon vol 1 when the robot come back to future leaving nobita sad but thankful because he taught him to do his best with his own power instead of tool from magic pocket. But eventually the robot came back because he couldn't leave nobita alone.
And the rest is formulaic comedy to milking out money and occasionally random movie.
Lack of maintenance maybe? No one bought him because he doesn't have his ears and he was left behind until he's in the discount bin afterall.
I'll take the reverse then, I'll turn everything into a loli. Though I could just take the What-If Phone-booth and ask for that instead.
He was sad after what had happened with him, so he goes to a shore ,depressed. He thinks probably the "cheering up pill" will cheer him up.
>takes the whole bottle
>realises it was depressing pill
>tears start overflowing
>paint gets washed off
>too ashamed to show himself to friends
>friends, including sewashi and doraemon's love interest come searching for him
>his pink girlfriend kisses him
That is urusai x3 bot. The original yandere bot is better.
Anyone would be better than shizuka.
am i the only person who think stand by me's ending is a bit disappointing?
i prefer the route where
Nobita get his shit together, move on with his life and revealed that in fact, he is the one who created doraemon in the future
It's been some time since I watch/read something Doraemon related, and you know I just realize something after watching the cinema: Holy shit Nobita is quite a piece of shit human being, damn that nigga belong in /r9k/, Giant is also quite a shithead in the movie, he's much cooler guy in the adventure manga.
>Nobita is quite a piece of shit human being
Nobita has a lot of flaws, but he is more courageous and talented than the whole manchildren population of /a/. It just doesn't always show.
Yeah I guess he's a piece of shit in general.
Yeah, I mean in the movie they really show how much a horrible man he is.
Nobita and co always pull through and show us their great side in the adventure movie though, except Suneo, have we ever seen him doing something nice? That useless jew.
Brainwash her. Hell Shizuka only pity marry him.
They wanted to avoid a religious reference.
In that particular episode, Doraemon was trying to stop Nobita from going crazy with a Dracula cape and fangs set that allow him to turn into a bat and suck out people's memories-- like making his mom forget to tell him to clean his room, and making his teacher forget he gave out homework. After scaring Doraemon in bat form and making him fall down the stairs, Nobita comes back up to see Doraemon putting bandages on his nose, inadvertently shaping them like a cross ( ) which finally defeats Drac!Nobita.
To make sure the joke still works, they just put a pizza there (garlic).
I see, I don't remember that episode, thank you.
Seeing how many girls that potentially fall for Nobita make me think that Doraemon would've work as a generic harem, Nobita even have all the needed materials to be a harem MC.
>Like a girl in his class but never making any progress
>One day a strange creature show up to help him with his love life, would be even more harem-y if Doraemon is turn into a girl
And he even have a forgotten childhood friend
Every fucking adventure movies, he's always the first to run, the first to get in trouble, and generally just cause all sort of problems and usually advocating for the group to leave someone behind to escape.
>They wanted to avoid a religious reference.
Huh, I guess that just show how sensitive people are these days. Thank you very much for the explanation.
The dub is actually really good. Reminds me a lot of the Samurai Pizza Cats dub where they actually tried to localize terms and flip the script to make the translation sound more natural than literal.
>heavily altered/censored version
There's not that much edits actually. Doraemon is pretty tame itself especially the 2005 version so there's not much to edit other than a few names and Japanese specific terms. In one episode they left in Naked Nobita, naked Shizuka, guns, etc.
This. The reason why geims uses red crystals or the like to symbolise 'health' is because Red Cross is butthurt about copyrights.
They were attempts to bring it to the states as far back as the 1980's by Turner but it feel through. The only reason why it's only now getting attention is because Japan will be hosting the Olympics in 2016 and has chosen Doraemon as its mascot
Taft was a lardass who got stuck in the tub once.
Gives them 6 years to legislate the otaku subculture out of existence and sterilize Akihabara to make it presentable for gaijins.
>Gives them 6 years to legislate the otaku subculture out of existence and sterilize Akihabara to make it presentable for gaijins.
Cant wait /a/ tears will be delicious, and for nothing because nothing will truly change
The TPP is a lot more scary thing. It will make Shueisha and co to be lot more like Marvel and DC. In other world, endless, unending reboot with an entirely new author. Instead of new manga, we'll get an unending Doraemon with Kishimoto as it's new mangaka.
There was this whole episode, too.
Also the experimental dream episode
>The Outer Limits theme
>Very snarky Shizuka
>mommy, why do they always sit on their legs like that?
>tfw Tamako is always barefoot but rarely has toes
MC gets cat ears, and the girl says he's just like doraemon. To which he responds that doraemon doesn't have ears.
I didn't know what doraemon was, so I didn't really understand. And I never cared to look it up. Now I know.
They should switch to this symbol. It's way cooler anyways.
>at the bottom
>Big G bullying
Didn't Jaiko actually become cuter in the future?
Also i found out that someone have complain about nobita while Suneo is far worst. Giant is stupid big bully retard but not as bad as him. Meanwhile Dekisugi has no flaw, therefore he's a shit character too.
Can someone tell me what is good in this anime ? the MC is a loser who cant do any shit, character is boring, and what people learn from it is "dont do anything a fairy will come to help you"
It's a kids show, autismo. There's no need for nitpicking.
Have you even see a chapter/episode? Most of the gadgets used are used selfishly and most of the time it causes mayhem, chaos and other stuff. It's mostly to show that if you want to fix shit, do it yourself,
I have this, but it doesn't have the last page. The complete one can be found in danbooru after a quick google
Trust me anon, you don't want it.
In the chapter it shows up in, Nobita goes into Cinderella. He finds her glass shoe, breaks it, tries to run for it, and leaves his own shoe behind. You can guess what happened.
Could Doraemon defeat a reality-warping humanoid interface?
>No love for Bakeru-kun, once again
Poor Nobita, so close but so far. At least he got a boob grab,
>All this plebs
I see no one remember the Ice Witch then
>Nobita plays in the winter with the Ice Witch till he got seriously sick
>Tfw she sacrifices herself for Nobita
>Nobita never knew
Maybe we should make a list of all the possible members of Nobita's harem.
>That childhood friend
>that robot girl
>that witch girl
>Alternate Shizuka from the knights daichohen
>The 'shizuka' from the Sun Kingdom daichohen
>That tree guy
I think that last one is going to win
They are pretty similar though, both become possessive of Nobita until Doraemon came around to explain things to them, they both lash out against Nobita to try and drive him away from them to save him.
Shizuka from the Sun Kingdom already have Prince Nobita, she can't be part of normal Nobita's harem.
I remember that aswell, then there's the wind element from the wind dragon adventure story. The only personofication of nature Nobita interact with that didn't die horribly is the tree guy it seem.
Ah I remember that, though it's an ice spirit, not a witch. Also Nobita knew she helped curing him.
Nobita could get a harem if he really try. pic related.
Don't forget that girl who had shinobu's voice.
Incest, now he have a full harem. No little sister though but I guess his cousin could fill in that detail.
He's useful when the situation call for him to be creative, but other than those situation, he's just a horrible person.
I don't remember anybody else having a wife aside from Nobita.
Just barely recalling from the earlier published manga, all I could remember were:
- Nobisuke's parents (both deceased)
- Tamako's mom
- cousins: an older male dwelling in an apartment, and a younger girl whom Tamako's mom occasional bring in the house
- ancestors: the Storyteller Nobiro Be (?), and that boar huntsman
Aye, Nobita play with the spirit of winter outside until he get sick and, after learning about this from Doraemon, she kill herself so winter would stop and Nobita would get better from his Japanese cold.
Tamako also have a male relative, though I'm not certain if it's her cousin or brother. He was kind of a wallflower and wanted to woo a qt, and the device featured was a doll that can speak out the thoughts of the one holding it.
Why have the recent seasons have episodes FILLED with it being about Shizuka's birthday?
She has a birthday almost every two or three episodes?
Because they go all out with the fantasies. And didn't go to serious mode/grim dark end, instead they use a humor end or a lesson end.
And because of that, one moment where Nobita had a backbone, he become badass.
Also it was quite funny, VA guest star, and nostalgia
well duh. His 'what if' phone box is basically a portable haruhi.
If it's not fast enough, he has a gadget called 'dictator button' that can erase people from the fabrics of reality for one day.
Or he can just use his 'small torchlight' and beam them down to the size of an ant.
Remind you that Nagato can manipulate any existing data at no jurisdiction, and her defensive mechanisms are extremely difficult to penetrate. She is FTL and she is capable of enclosing areas at will so that data within it is under her control.
>What if Yuki Nagato and the Integrated Data Entity never existed
By the time Doraemon would have said those words, The IDE and/or Nagato would have already logged what's been said and imposed it as an immediate threat, thus catalyzing action against Doraemon that would dispose of him,or atleast disable him.
Considering he is a VERY important and irreplaceable person to Haruhi and being John Smith, I wouldn't think they'd have a chance at eliminating Kyon for their desire of auto-evolution. John Smith is his wild card, and the IDE wouldn't be in the wrong to be "scared shitless" of him.
Maybe he is God after what he can pull off against an alien species
Time stop watch. What if phone box. Travel back in time. Think about it. This is only Doraemon's gadgets that the public can buy in the future. I don't know how strong the military in the future can be.
I keep forgetting about that, the future must be pretty terrifying with those reality warping technologies being so advance.
They already have something like that, the floating eye ball thing you see in the Nobita and his dinosaur adventure.
>What if Phone Box
Nagato is capable of doing all of these things. She'd be able to do it without the need of activating a gadget, giving her the advantage. Had Doraemon use any of his gadgets successfully, defense mechanisms and precautions would have already been placed, countering possible actions that would interfere with the data surrounding them.
Rampage as in Endless Eight correct? Nagato does not interfere with events going on due to her existence to observe. Her job is to observe Haruhi, and for Nagato to interfere with the events of endless eight means that there is a possibility of disrupting the will of Haruhi. She cannot do that, and will only take action against doings by Haruhi if they impose a threat by the means of: Haruhi having knowledge of her powers, imminent threats to herself and those she seeks plausible to protect, and by the will of tge Integrated Data Entity. She takes no action in disrupting Endless Eight, and indirectly leaves Kyon to decide their fate.
From theory, this is why
Nagato stole Haruhi's powers in Disappearance. She was bug, glitched, and by the words of Kyon, unable to express feelings. She couldn't take action on her own in EE, due to her lack of caring, feeling, and emotion. With the 15k+ loops, she was bound to snap and grow on feelings. Her system cannot acknowledge this, therefore she created a new world, where everything was normal and she did have feelings. And this goes on and on but you get the picture.
Well then Nagato would be pre-prepared for the preparations by that preparation device. Anyways, she can manipulate existing data, therefore she'd most likely be able to disable his gadgets
Is this implying that they've already met in the past? I think the problem here anon is that there is no specific setting of their meet. They could simply be walking in opposite directions and Nagato would recognize how dangerous Doraemon is, thus immediately disposing of him. Or Doraemon had known Nagato indirectly for a while and some tension happened between the two, thus causing their battle.
>how dangerous Doraemon is
Are you implying my friend is dangerous?
If they were only simply be walking in the opposite direction, Nagato wouldn't notice anything because Doraemon's gadget are not him. Also his gadgets are something that anybody can buy in the future. The gadget that can prepare Doraemon would only need to work by making him prepare for the next day.Even if he didn't know Nagato he can already be prepared for the next day for any confrontation that could happened.
This is in a scenario where Doraemon is trying to eliminate Yuki Nagato. Of course Nagato would find him dangerous. In general, where both don't know each other at all, Doraemon is not at all dangerous. Maybe Nagato would acknowledge the gadget capabilities, but without a threat, Doraemon isn't dangerous.
Why would Doraemon ever do that? even when threatened he still won't do anything dangerous to anyone.
And by opposite direction I meant like in opposite directions but wallking toward eachother. Again this is a situation where Doraemon is trying to eliminate Nagato, and maybe here they're walking toward eachother to battle or something, who knows.
idk anon just fan fiction junk to see who is better. i got off topic with the walking in direction stuff though. should stick to their capabilities and not how they'd really fight off one another.
>even when threatened he still won't do anything dangerous to anyone.
But because Doraemon is prepared for what Nagato prepared for before him, then Nagato could use this to confuse him and do something completely different than what he prepared for. Thus Nagato was prepared the day the met, the day after Doraemon prepared for what Nagato "prepared" for
This is where you are wrong. Doraemon have a time machine, in which he can summon multiple Doraemon that can prepare for every point in time on what and can and would happen. Thus he prepared himself for anything Nagato can prepare for.
This is where you are also incorrect. Nagato can communicate with herself from any plane in space time, to the very planck length. Therefore she can synchronize and understand the situation of any time therefore she is capable of preparing herself for what will happen and what she will do in executing her actions. Thus she prepared herself for anything Doraemon can prepare for.
>Be guy who can totally beat Doraemon. >Challenge him to a battle.
>Watch him whip out a phone booth.
>He steps inside.
>Phone booth disappears.
>Doraemon is gone forever.
>Wonder what happened.
>Take over the world.
Just think of all the bad guys they left behind just like that.
Anyone remembers some scary things from Doraemon's pocket? The ones that I remembered are the Satan Passport, Devil's Card and the human making machine which creates some sort of mutant baby. I'm pretty sure there are more of them.
Also, I remembered Doraemon turning back time in the mutant baby story so that the child was never born in the first place. Doraemon is freaking broken.
There's also the childhood friend form a foreign country.
>expecting anything of your child
If you just assume your child will be useless, you'll be pleasantly surprised if they achieve anything, and you won't be disappointed if they don't.
Anything with time machines is automatically broken. It's actually thought by physicists that the universe actively prevents time travel because of the paradoxes that ensue. See:
There's a machine that Nobita uses so he can stand outside the class better. This machine turns his legs into stone.
Petrification have always fucking terrified me, partial or not. That scene in the Magic Universe Daichohen when they see the stone statues of Nobita and Doraemon is fucking horrifying for kid me.
>they see the stone statues of Nobita and Doraemon is fucking horrifying
Goddamn, even they say "It's all over", what the fuck
Nowhere. You can find the original and some of the Long Stories spinoff on the usual manga reading sites.
>every printed materials and spinoffs?
Now that I think about it, there are tons of Doraemon spinoff, aren't they? Off the top of my head there's the ~30 volumes of the "Doraemons" spinoff and the ~30 volumes of the "Dorabase" spin-off. Then there's the still ongoing (?) Long Stories thing, along with the 45 (?) original volumes. Don't forget the 'special editions' that are educational, like the 7 or 8 volumes of Doraemon that are all about mathematics, or the more science-based Doraemon series, I think there's like 3 volumes of them. Then of course there's the 3 volumes of manga encyclopedia of Doraemon's tools.
>That tree guy
Maybe if he doesn't have the mustache.
One of the endings I read was that Doraemon one day stops working. I think it was Dorami who explains this to Nobita, and he can be rebooted, but if he does so then Doraemon will lose all his memories. Nobita studies hard and becomes a scientist, and eventually when he's an adult he manages to save Doraemon.
I think it was also animated.
Whose idea is it to make Nobita this cool?
Yeah this is like a Japanese person asking where he can find every single Star Wars Extended Universe comic, novel, etc. translated into Japanese and ready for download. No where.
I believe just over half of the original 45 volumes have been professionally translated and released on Amazon Kindle.
Doraemon is the one thing which can literally make me nostalgia to tears. I had about 3 VHS tapes of movies (Nobita's Dinosaur, Nobita's Little Space Wars and the one where they go underwater and fight an octopus) which I watched religiously as a kid. Hearing songs from those movies instantly takes me back to a simpler time where I would just happily watch them with my mum in the background.
Reminder that murrican will never understand how doraemon work.
>Although popular around the world, Doraemon failed to gain a foothold in the United States, one of the biggest importers of Japanese anime.
>Industry experts say they believe that Nobita’s dependence on Doraemon could be seen as ethically wrong and not a desirable trait by Americans, who consider self-reliance to be a supreme virtue.
>But in Japan and many other nations, the boy's weakness is the very reason the series is so widely accepted.
>“The idleness and the weakness that he represents is one true aspect of human nature,” said Takahiro Inagaki, the 44-year-old author of “Doraemon wa monogataru” (What Doraemon wants to tell), a book that analyzes the series’ messages.
>“By seeing (Nobita’s) weakness being warmly accepted and justified by Doraemon, readers must feel some ease and compassion.”
because murrican kids are dumb as fuck, they would kill themselves with a medkit.
while the rest of the world know what a medkit is for. got it?
for example: that kinder egg, murricans eat it whole and suffocate to death, rest of the world kids, eat the chocolated/cookie and play with the toy inside.
Well, it's here in the US now. And unlike all other kids' anime that have premiered recently, it hasn't been cut off before it's run finished or shunted off to some other fringe channel, so by that virtue alone it's doing okay, at least. It's kept the 3PM (every weekday) timeslot ever since it was moved from earlier slot where it premiered in the summer.
They even dubbed Stand By Me in English with the US dub cast, but they're presumably holding it for next year to see how they'll go about releasing it, and haven't shown it yet anywhere outside a Japanese film festival.
Still, better late than never. Wish we had it back in the 80s or 90s, though-- shit would have blown my little mind.
This was a good movie. Better than the original too, which is also subbed.
This looks like Chinese bootleg Doraemon. I know it's not, and I know it's done by the same people and all, but how, just how?
A lot of things they made follows that formula, they just kept changing factors until something worked, I guess. Not uncommon for that time, just look at how many characters and plot gets recycled by Go Nagai and Tezuka.
Also, whatever happened to The Doraemons? Are they not cool anymore?
I'm in love with Depon already...
To anyone curious about the US dub or it's VA but haven't checked it out yet, TV Asahi themselves uploaded an episode, one of the funniest ones too:
>(old man mechanic was based as fuck)
Gonsuke? He's pretty much Fujiko F. Fujio's best character. Watch 21emon for more of him.
Here it is. It was actually a fan-made doujinshi that got sold. It's also notable because it is one of the few doujinshi in Japan to actually cause some legal trouble with its original owners (probably because its style looks a little too much like a legitimate Doraemon chapter), and that RARELY happens in Japan at all, surprisingly enough from a Westerner's point of view.
you have it the other way around. a Rat ate his ear and then his bitches and whore girlfriend dump him because of the lack of ears.
this also explain why Doreamon hate them to death
the stinger is that Nobita(or someone else) actually manga to calm down the girl and went back to read the little mermaid with her, only to find the revised story utterly comprehensible.
But Doraemon is real, right? RIght?!
He'll come out of my desk's drawer on this year's christmas, won't he? Won't he?!
The worst thing is that the fucking machine is kinda sentient and can crawl around turning anything to stone. Who the hell thought making a petrification machine being able to move around on its own is a good idea.
With a gun in his hand, Nobita can be the coolest person ever.
As a kid I really liked that short film where each member helped Dorami get through some trials in some haunted evil robot fortress thing but they each got captured and turned evil, until the final scene where all the captured Doraemons fought Dorami.
>With a gun in his hand,
Remember that chapter where Nobita and thr other kids play a game of finger guns with air bullets that can come out of their fingers? The way Nobita ended it, man, fucking hardcore. Nobita can sometimes be super amazing, no wonder he can be a harem protag.
Just because some faggots from several blogs and forum like KAOSHIT told you about hurr pls don't pirate they need money bullshit doesn't mean you had to actually visit the theater.
That wild west chapter, damn Nobita is like different person.
I like the chapter where Doraemon tries to find his 'talent' and thinks it's swordsmanship.
I can't choose my favourite Dora aside from Doraemon. It is either Dorarinyo or Doranichov.
Well I know that quite a few others that are here also were in the 4 big Doraemon threads that were on /m/ back in the summer.
In manga, he went back in time to a town during the Wild West, becoming a sheriff by shooting down two evil gunslingers with a real gun, then, with a little helps from Dorami, beating the entire gang of bad guys in one night.
Nobita is literally only good at that and cat's cradle though.
>beating the entire gang of bad guys in one night.
Oh yeah, I remember that, he was standing on the roof top and sniping them while they're riding into town, didn't he?
And there;s also the old Sheriff's daughter, another member for Nobita's harem.
They don't even have either sniping rifles or time to defend since they sneaked up from behind. Nobita can only empty his barrels to save the old sheriff only for Dorami, who was already there and well prepared, to help them out.
It kinda sucks that the new version changes it to Space Wild West instead with alien space pirates that looks exactly like Shizuka, Gian and Suneo. Also the old sheriff's daughter sounds like Belldandy.
I remember that daichohen in which they go to a sheriff planet and entered a can-shooting competition. This smug rich fucker manages to shoot five cans out of six. Nobita only shoots one, but as that rich fucker laughed his ass off Nobita flipped the can upside down to show that all his bullets are in there.
>Nobita is literally only good at that and cat's cradle though.
He's good at one other thing: falling asleep super fast. There was one chapter where Nobita makes the world have napping competitions and he's like supet brilliant.
It sometimes shames me I can recall one specific chapter out of hundreds.
All of that is patently wrong.
Ted Turner licensed Doraemon a long time ago. But the thing is the team assigned to "Americanize" the show didn't know what to do with it, mainly due to all the aspects of Japanese lifestyle being a big part of Doraemon. So it sat in Ted Turner's hands until either the license expired or it was bought out. It's a miracle Disney XD showed any of it at all.
It was not due to any of the issues quoted from that article. Also dubbing it into English can make or break a series on TV. If the Bang Zoom effort was less butchered, it could have done a lot better.
The current crop of dubbed episodes on Disney XD doesn't seem to be getting any more added.
>Pernan is canon
>Time has passed and Sumire aka Perko has grown up while Mitsuo aka Perman has left the Earth a long time ago
>An early teen Perman shows up in the present time and stays around
The dub isn't 'butchered' though, and a second season of episodes seem ever more likely since they dubbed Stand By Me, since they aren't just gonna keep it to themselves, but they also aren't going to just throw it out there without something to accompany it (eg, you know, more episodes.)
>Is this all free?
Some tools aren't. I remember a chapter where Nobita gets a 'Future Catalog' and it allows him to get stuff that Doraemon doesn't have. He have to pay it, but in the end because there's some defects Nobita doesn't have to pay.
There are few possible options for 'who pays for the tools'.
First of all, it probably uses Nobita's future family's funds. They seem to be well-off in the future.
Second of all, from the Doraemons spin-off, Doraemon's job is sort of that 'personality fixer-upper", just like how Dora the Kid is a sheriff and Dorarinyo is a professional soccer player. Probably that's his tools of the job.
Third option is probably that 'money' as a concept doesn't exist in the future anymore. This is a future where disease can get cured by a single suitcase, where language barriers are destroyed by a single Konjac, and travel are instantaneous. Not hard to imagine it's post-scarcity.
Nobita was a really good boy when he was 6 or something and was shown to be really clever. I think his grandmother's death hit him hard he just lost the will to put effort in anything. He still have the creativity in him though with how he uses Doraemon's tools though mostly for his selfish gains.
