When will she get a happy ending? And why is the artist such an asshole?

I've finished so many series in the past few years that were undoubtedly fantastic and had sad, bad, and bittersweet endings. Lessons were learned, emotions were felt. But boy am I feeling drained. I could really use more good endings right about now.

I like both, it depends on the tone of the show. Also I like it when sad endings are justified, for example if a girl ends up sad and alone because her love interest fell in love with another girl. That other girl better be a better fit for the guy and be a nice person and all that. I hate bullshit NTR "I'm leaving you because her tits are sooooo big" stuff like that.

I love happy endings or sappy ones.

But I also kind of like the Ultimate Sacrifice ones with the MC sacrificing his life to save his friends or the one he loves. They just don't happen all too often, and I just enjoy seeing the reactions on the other characters realizing that MC stayed behind to buy more time/stop the bad guy and such.

I like the endings were you're not sure what the hell even happened, just because they're the ones that keep me engaged and thinking about it the longest regardless of whether they fit or not

I don't really have a preference to a ending long as it makes sense and its not fucking retarded or some last episode ass pull.

The annoying thing about anime is that studios can rarely actually produce a decent solid ending, I mean Champloo ending was so simple but you'll remember it forever.

Generally happy endings, but it depends a lot of the type of anime. Some are better off with partially sad endings.

Either is fine as long as it's well-executed. Ambiguous/open-ended conclusions are my favorites, though, enraging as they can sometimes be.

The best ending is a happy ending earned through attaining maximum levels of awesomeness and then some.

It's not a true ending if the mc doesn't use his kiai to alter reality with sheer hotblooded passion to bring forth a miracle which he promptly uses to rape the angsty, depressing canon he's been trapped in up to that point.

In-universe rebellions against the abundance of pessimism and slice of life crap that define modern anime make for the best plots when done properly.

Obviously the ending should be whatever the creator(s) intended it to be.

But, I tend to enjoy endings like FLCL and Madoka, where it isn't necessarily happily ever after or even, "everything's gonna be ok", but the characters have grown as people and are more well equipped to face what's ahead of them physically and emotionally.
