First arc ended early this year with 13 volumes, and the first volume of the second arc after a two year timeskip was released in April.

They have years of material to work with. I just hope Studio Shuka will put out new seasons unlike Brains Base.

Then again Shuka is mostly old Brains Base staff who left precisely because they wanted to work on Durarara.

I always loved the van gang. They're kinda just random, normal characters who're just there, yet are just as interesting as the "main" characters.

Things get less light-hearted and darker every volume. Especially Mikado, even leaving you wondering if he ever really was a likeable character. There's still humor, but even that gets darker.

you're being an ass, but my gripe with the show was that it had excellent build up, but then the climaxes rarely delivered.

I mean, at the end those gangsters tried to get away but Shizuo impaled their car with a signpost. And I was disappointed. I think that says more about how hyped I was for the climax and their comeuppance, that something as rad-sounding as that was a "disappointment." I was expecting him to cut the car in half with the sign like fucking Goemon or something, dragon kick their asses into the milk way, whatever.

then things like that traffic cop, and the doctor's father, just kind of being there and vaguely threatening at first, then not actually mattering.
