Would you a 1984 anime?Onii-sama
>>118484882
Nigga you know I would.
"Books you want adapted to anime" thread?
Yes.
Depending on who does it, it could be shit or gold.
In all honesty if it were to be made I'd be a bit wary of it at first because the last anime based on Western stuff I saw was pic related.
I would since the book is great, of course. It would probably suck.
Best case it'd be like Shin Sekai Yori.
Worst case it'd be irredeemable garbage.
>>118486438
>best case would be forgettable garbage
I find your lack of faith disturbing
>>118485605
Man, I would love to see pretty much anything Asimov being animated.no moe
I'd rather something original and new, to be honest. 1984 has been done so many times already, and the plot wouldn't really keep me interested. How many times do we have to watch someone fall in love and then get broken by the system? Even 1984 copied most of the Plot from Zamyatin, then Brazil adapted it again, and it keeps being remade some way or the other.
Don't get me wrong, I loved the book, but it's just not fresh material anymore.
Yeah. Also shit from Eco or The Gospel According to Biff.
Only if big brother is a genki loli.
>>118486438
But what if it was like Gankutsuou? Or Aoi Bungaku? Not to suggest I'm nearly that optimistic.
This thread won't last an hour
The only literature-related posts are in Psycho Pass threads and they're 99% shitposting
>>118486523
Well we already have EnJ. But I want my robot buddy-cop fix that Japan will never deliver.
>Julia is a cute girl
>Regularly abuses Winston
>Both are in high school
>HUUUEEE?
Of course I'd watch it and so would all of you
>>118486576
>O'Brien with a permanent :3 face
>the telescreen is an inescapable SoL marathon
>>118486647
That'd be just anime-tropey enough to be different but not enough to be automatically shit
>>118486682
Best anime ever.
>>118486647
>new transfer student
>"I have always been a member of your class."
Produced by Shaft
>>118486578
Don't be silly, /a/ hasgreat taste in books. Even if we like to delude ourselves about what would make a good adaptation.
>>118484882
but we got psychopass which is objectively better
>>118486787
Never mind that, I want an OVA of Laughter in the Dark.
Some stuff from the Edda.
>>118486682
>they get smith in the end
>he looks up into the blue sky
>"EEEEEHHHHHHHHH"
>>118486773
Black haired monotone-speaking goth?
>>118486873
Philip K. Dick << Orwell< Gibson
>>118486905
Is there some anime that actually used nordic stuff correctly?
>>118486905
That would be great.I want the stuff about Sigurd with the Fafnismal
>>118484882
Isn't that basically Psycho-Pass and that one anime about a boy named Rat and some other bishounen he loved who was part of some upper class post-apocalyptic society?
I'd watch this SoL.
>>118486224
nyark was an anime showtune like the original hayate series. They were merely playing the lovecraft for laughs, and no one disagrees. I just think its awful that they had to have such a shit MC and have the other characters be so much fun.
>>118486577
>Mappa does it
>Gankutusuou-style textures
>Brave New World-style "utopia" contrasting with a Disneyworld backstage-style "dystopia" of the prols
>MCactually escapes his fate and reaffirms his love with the female character before death, rather than being broken
"Pofessional" anime reviewers would probably call it bad for changing the moral.
>>118487158
That would make me mad as hell
>>118487062
I remember reading that in english class
NTRing slut
>>118486787
It's the age of the fujobait, we get Pale Fire instead.
I'd watch this.
>>118487025
No 6 or however it was called is basically what people are talking about when they mention fucked up adaptions or inspired series. I can't imagine a series like 1984 working with bishounen and stuff like that. Not to mention that the plot turned out to be shit and was about fucking wasps.
>>118487158
Brave New World sounds more like an anime to me, what with the kids having sex. Japan has that thing with drugs though, so I don't know if it will work.
I'm thinking anything Heinlein would make some great anime. He even wrote a genderbend novel. Now that I think about it, The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress sounds like a decent gundam.
No. Orwell a highschool-core shit
>>118484882
>Big onee-san is watching
10/10 AOTY
>>118487127
Speaking of it, I'd enjoy some HPL series. Or something set in this universe.
>>118487328
I remember there being a manga.
>>118487377
>Big big sister
Anon...
>>118487238
Admittedly it's a rather bigger change than Gankutsuou not making Eugenie an unfaithful lesbian, but that particular plot twist was only in it to titillate and surprise anyone who wasn't on the barricades and was rather pointless.
>>118487423
Doubleplusbaka, my bad
Book-club thread?
>>118487062
>Canadian Literature
>Anything other than Bear
That comic does sound a lot like Ethan Frome though, but that's from New England.
>Young man gives up dreams to take care of family farm
>Falls in love with sick mother's nurse
>20 years later hates his old, ugly wife and being stuck on a farm
>The winter is long, sexy young niece comes by
>Have sex when his wife goes to take care of a patient, fall in love
>Decide they have no future and try to commit suicide by crashing a sled into a tree
>Crippled for life, being taken care of by his wife, niece is ugly and crabby now too
So pointless.
No because they fear the number 4
Don Quixote needs an anime.
It could even be modernized so that Quixote is an otaku who reads too much manga and talks himself into believing that he's a mecha pilot or a harem MC or a sentai fighter or something.
Epic of Gilgamesh.
>>118487643
Welcome to the NHK.
>>118487643
Sounds basically like Flamwenco. But I agree.
>>118487643
I'm always up to watch that kind of thing.
>>118487653
>Epic of Gilgamesh.
You get the Nasu version with trap Enkidu instead.
How do you react?
>>118484882
Probably, but only because I watch so much anime I only leave enough time for a few manga so I never got around to that one.
>>118486523
Seconding this.
>>118487643
Maybe if they don't fuck with the story and characters.
>>118487643
>reads too much manga and talks himself into believing that he's a mecha pilot or a harem MC or a sentai fighter or something.
Don Quixote, the original chuuni?
>>118487727
>Implying it wouldn't be about the Gilgamesh who wields the mighty Excalipoor
>>118487705
>>118487707
It it really like that? I thought it was just Kamen Rider toku shit.
>>118487765
Shit I never thought of it like that. We had chunnis in media before there was even a word for it. Too bad he wasn't a cute one that liked being bullied.
>>118487671
They're a lot alike, but Satou's delusions are nothing compared to Quixote's.
>>118487765
>the original chuuni
That's exactly what he is
>>118487643
Sounds kinda close to that model-guy-wants-to-be-super-sentai series a few seasons ago.
>>118487336
There was a lot wrong with number 6 and the wasps were not much of a factor in that.
>>118487374
>-core
since when was this acceptable?
>>118487597
Sounds like Gatsby, I have no idea why they liked that shit back then.
Im reading Azincourt, do we have an anime about an rcher?
>It it really like that? I thought it was just Kamen Rider toku shit.
It is, but the MC wanted it to be Kamen Rider toku shit before it did and then shit just gets nuttier from there.
Since most anime is aimed at children
>>118487822
>It it really like that? I thought it was just Kamen Rider toku shit.
Samflam or Akibarangers?Regardless, you should watch them both.
>>118488051
>Since most anime is aimed at children
How about an Ender's Game Anime?
Now with 100% more naked shotas.
>>118488138
Thread's over guys, he said it. Everyone go back to your usual shitposting.
>>118488051
holy shit this book
Would you a Fahrenheit 451 anime with cute grills burning cute things?
i'd watch it
>>118488313
>Generic team of cute girls
>Fairly incompetent, never seem to work
>All they do is talk about keki
>Maybe once in 13 episodes they set some books on fire
>there will never be a good adaptation of Heart of Darkness, the Iliad, the Lovers of Teruel, Labors of Heracles, or Anabasis adaptation

It could be, people would argue about incest and Petra is already a tsundere.
Would watch

Animated by MAPPA.
What about this anime?
>>118488138
That would actually work well. Same to Enders Shadow
>>118488874
Would watch
Every time we have one of these threads it's always loaded with mainstream, American, 20th Century lit/sci-fi. Don't you faggots ever read anything else? I'd fuckin' love to see a Gulliver's Travels anime, that shit would be dope.
I'd watch the shit out of The Belgariad/Malloreon anime. They even translateed it to japanese, and the cover art is so much better
Secrets of Droon > Magic Treehouse
If you read Magic Treehouse as a kid but not these, you lost out on something. This would be perfect as a long running series.
>>118488981
I'd personally like to see a series based on any of the Shakespearean tragedies
Especially Titus Andronius
Kore wa Anarchist Desu ka?
>>118488981
>always loaded with mainstream, American, 20th Century lit/sci-fi.
You think so? Every time I see one of these threads, Russian lit seems to be oddly prevalent.
Too bad Japan would do a terrible job adapting them.
>>118486523
Gaal looks moe
>>118488981
Yeah, also what about a Treasure Island anime and an Anne of Green Gables anime?
>>118489308
>Anne of Green Gables
Already exists. Now that you mention it, I should watch it.
>>118488981
>>118489308
It's not mentioned because we have enough of that shit already. It's called World Masterpiece Theater.
>>118489115
I read both. I don't remember SHIT from Droon though.
Also, there is a Magic Treehouse anime movie. It was shit.
Catch-22 could be fucking excellent as an anime. Hell, it'd basically be Sora no Woto with more PTSD and suffering.
i'd prefer it be more along the lines of catch-22. Because it isn't the things we hate that will be our downfall. Nor the things we love, as Huxley glumly suggested.
We will choke on our own bullshit and minituae instead.
>>118489444
>>118489466
Nice Catch-22mind
